Another Bob Evans visit in less than 2 months!! Not what you think, both times was more of convenience over choice. This Bob's is located in the same parking lot as my hotel and a group of co-workers wanted something quick so we can get back to work. At Bob Evans, the choices are pretty similar to a Denny's or IHOP. The food is about the same in taste, but the prices here a diet cheap. I had their Potato Crusted Flounder and a cup of chili. The chili wasn't anything special, but the fish was pretty good which is surprising at a place that specializes in breakfast. Service here was just okay, but I can see it improving. We had a new server and he'll be fine after a few more weeks. No reason complaining about his serving skills because he's new. But he was at least attentive and even did what he can to make our dining experience the bomb. Overall, if you like Denny's type food then Bob Evans is a place for you. I'm typically a huge fan of this restaurant. However, this location did not sell me. It started with the half-n-half tea.. The unsweetened tea was spoiled. As a huge tea drinker, I noticed this right away. My favorite meal is the pot roast whi h is what I primarily order every time I come to eat here. My dish was missing the onions. The kitchen waited more than five min after my meal arrived to send out my side of dressing. If I based my meal and experience on this visit, I would never eat at Bob Evans again. BUT that is not the case. There are others that are outstanding! !!! Please bring back the meat juices on your pot roast. Let's be honest, it's boring without it and the brown gravy is not that good. I used to really enjoy Bob Evans. The salads, the chicken fried steak, chicken strips, omelets, were all favorites of mine. Now, the food seems to come out of the kitchen less than hot, in smaller portions, with less flavor. This location used to be across the street, now it is difficult to make a left hand turn onto Stringtown or even out of their parking lot onto the shopping center street. On to the food--My most recent meal here was breakfast and they were quite busy. Waited about 15 min to be seated. Food was lukewarm, refills were done and check was given early (which I like). There was some cutlery dropped on the carpeted floor a few feet away in a main thoroughfare and it took 5 employees to walk by before a manager picked it up. read more

Really the service and most of the food was a solid 5 stars, but being a chain and having had better food I'll leave it at a very positive 4+ stars. This is only the second time I've dined at Bob Evans and I enjoyed this location way more than Pickerington. Though they didn't have a large to go bakery like the latter, the service was just stellar. Brianna was so attentive, we had the all you can eat soup, salad and breads which we took full advantage of. So much that after the second bowl of salad she made us a huge one a la Olive Garden and along with their balsamic its a nice fresh salad. We also spooned our way through all 6 soup selections, chicken noodle was ok, good chicken, real homemade noodles, just not too much flavor. Beef and veggie was good, the white bean very simple but fine, loaded baked potato the mans fav, it was so cheesy, pretty darn good. I We loved the tomato basil, now I'm a hater of tomato, I always pick them off of salads, burgers just hate them. It was the last soup we ordered and I got it more just to have had them all. So glad I did, it tasted like a marinara sauce, it was loaded with parmesan and basil, damn was that good. Also my favorite part of the meal, all you can eat bread, now here they had no muffins like I enjoyed so much last time, therefore blueberry and banana nut bread, I ate about a loaf of each and $6 for all the soups, salads and breads I ate is a great deal, alsong with fabulous service and kids meals for less than $3 our family paid $15 insane! read more

The mgt of this store is pitiful. I ordered a grilled cheese and the gave me two pieces of burnt toast with cold cheese. I called them and let them know that my to go order was wrong. The mge took my name and said they would replace it on my next visit. I went there tonight and the vers same Mgr trainee said that I had been compensated for the meal. A lie. I was never compensate for anything. She insisted that I was and basically she seemed to care less about a customer who has been frequenting that very store for over 30 years. Her name is Sheneese and id I Mgr in training. Poor excuse for a Mgr in my humble opinion. Needless to say, that was my last trip there. She lied over a grilled cheese sandwich. Ok. So obviously you shouldn't order anything here but breakfast. Had dinner tonight and it was ok. Just ok. The Mrs ordered a steak and shrimp combo and was asked how she wanted the steak. She said medium rare. Well it came out done through and through. Dried out - tough and borderline inedible. I had the meatloaf and it was good but the entire bottom was burnt and crunchy. Waitress was hit and miss. Decent job by her. Kept my soda flowing. About all I can say. Probably won't be back. Shame seems like it's fallen way off the quality end here. Oh well. Still love the Cracker Barrel- just on the other side of 71. They always do a quality job. Consistent for sure. read more

I just spoke with the Manager who could not provide info on when the hvac system had been cleaned. Even if tables are '6" feet apart' you could be breathing 'old' air in the HVAC system which is carrying COVID-19. read more

I visit here often and experience the same quality service and food. I am a picky person who always adds on or subtracts something from the meal and I'm never disappointed when it comes out. Best thing is the constant reliable delicious elements of the meat and deserts and as far as a could do better .. Keep the coffee fresh and filled up and I'll be there one more day a week! Nice little Bob Evans. Friendly, clean & well run. We were there the day before thanksgiving. The place was comfortably busy. We were greeted right away by nice host, promptly seated & our server came right over to take drinks order. Server was very pleasant and attentive. All the servers seemed to be that way. Our food came reasonably fast given the crowd, food was hot, and our orders were correct. Drink refill was brought quickly too. Server checking us a couple of times while we were eating to make sure we were ok. Brought box , check & a drink to go for me. We were in & out in just under an hour which is very reasonable for us for lunch on the road. Only complaint was ladies room was out of hand towels but when I came back out & mentioned it, a counter cashier went in immediately & refilled the dispenser. We were happy to find this spot as the ihop we used to frequent was dismally slow & bad at everything. So this was a good find. read more

Very disappointed in where Bob Evans has gone too. Being seated and we had to show and point where seating was available. Getting drinks was complicated for waiter. Drinks now are in Mason jar. If I wanted a mason jar I would of went to Wings and Rings. Received part of our order and manager said "OH, I didn't see the other item". No jelly on NO tables!!! Felt like I'm in Mcdonalds asking for ketchup packs behind the counter. Think next time I want a breakfast dinner I'll goto a classier place like IHOP. Thank you for the bad experience. read more

The service was great, the food as well. We went to check out and, what appeared to be a manager, in plain clothes, checked us out. In the middle of our transaction, he disappeared. Left us "hangin' "! Another employee completed our transaction. The man, named Adam, never said "how was your breakfast", "everything ok," nothin'. Rude. I love Bob Evans but didn't have the best experience. The waitress was either new or very unattentive. Took approx. 10 minutes to order our drinks....another 10 minutes to get them. Took 36 minutes to get our food with 10 minutes of that with it sitting under the warmer. Poor management of the staff. Not sure I'll be back to this Bob Evans! read more

I rarely go to Bob Evans, but I have been to this one about three times. Usually it's for lunch or dinner, but today it was for breakfast. Each time I've gone I have been impressed with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Today 2 other people and I went for breakfast. I ordered the western omelette and home fries. The omlett was done perfectly, the home fries were not overcooked and burnt like many places I've been, and with coffee as a drink I was highly impressed with their coffee quality. It's in a great location right around several hotels and I would highly recommend this family restaurant to anyone. read more

Excellent service and food today! Had the double chocolate hot cakes and a side of sausages. Coffee was hot and fresh. Tried the corn meal mush, not my favorite. We were seated immediately and greeted immediately. It was a great lunch. read more

Thank you to the cook at Bob Evans. He was asking for one of the servers to give him a biscuit and the server, a younger blond girl used the tongs but practically threw it at him. He proceeded to ask another server for another and had to hand them a plate to place it on. Not sure who pissed in her Wheaties but wow I can not believe the attitude and rudeness she portrayed. We have enjoyed Bob Evans for years & looked forward to this visit. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The service was poor, coffee was burnt, plates came with greasy food smeared on bottom, couldn't get utensils for everyone of our group (there were 5 of us). This made us feel like this visit was a mistake. The food was very good. We ordered some great usual items & a new one. All of the meals were tasty, warm & enjoyable. We left full & our hunger well satisfied. It was a fair value & better than other chain offerings. We will not rush back though until this service memory fades...too bad. We like Bob Evans but they need to improve this area of their customer service. read more

Just left your restaurant hungry and angry and went to your competitor across the road. I've had bad wait times at Bob Evans before, I should have known better than to chose you, but this was ridiculous. When we walked in, we were the 2nd to put our name on the list and there were many open tables...not a busy morning for you, but you had no employee seating anyone. There was one guy working the entire front end, and after watching him take phone orders for 32min and not filling tables we left...when our name was next to be called. We knew that even being next our entire service would be slow based on the tone set when we arrived. read more

This is a good go-to restaurant. I have been going here for many years. The breakfast is great. If you go on a weekend morning you will wait up to 30 minutes, but, it's Bob Evans, the food is great. For dinner, the service is a little slower, but the food is still great. I always get the Homestead breakfast it has everything, you can't beat this place for breakfast. read more

Let's just say... never again. I have restaurants that I love to go to. You can always count on GREAT food AND service. This is NOT one of those places! I ordered black coffee. The server brought me ice water. I ordered scrambled eggs. The server brought my eggs over easy. I ordered white toast. It never arrived. The place was almost empty, but the food came out a half hour after we ordered, and was COLD! I tip according to service. I think our server owes us money! Had this been the first time this happened, at this Bob Evan's, I might have let it slide. But, this was the second time. So...... never again. read more

I continue to be amazed at how small the servings are getting at Bob Evans. The serving of coleslaw I received last night was exactly five teaspoons...FIVE! I'm sorry...that's ridiculous! I had a similarly sized serving of green beans, as well. To make a long story short...I left still hungry after paying nearly $20 for my meal...No more...I'm done.
