Bob Evans is an American restaurant franchise that has been around the Louisville area for what I can recall as practically my whole life. They are a standard run fo the mill restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I was younger I can remember only liking there breakfast foods. Now that I'm older it worked out perfect because they serve breakfast all day. I've been to this location quite a bit over the years. They always keep it upkept really well but they are usually on the slower side and the service is hit and miss. Pricing isn't ever too bad. On our latest visit I got the steak and eggs breakfast. Eggs were solid (a smidge cold), the sirloin was tiny and tough. Like it made Waffle House steaks look like fine dining. The hash browns side was pretty tasty and I did love my banana nut bread side. Overall my meal was just solid. Wish the steak was better but it is what it is. My wife got the homestead (bacon and eggs variety plate) and some French toast. She mainly shared the eggs and bacon with our 1 year old daughter. Her French toast was "just decent". My oldest daughter got the double chocolate hot cakes. And I'll give props. They were phenomenal. I keep swiping samples off her plate. The other two daughters got kids meals. They get what they get at every place. One gets a chicken tender/nugget and the other gets a cheeseburger. The 2nd oldest liked her tenders a lot. So that was approved. The 2nd youngest ate half her cheeseburger. So hit or miss on that one. Overall bob Evans is always a solid place to grab a bite. You kinda know what your getting when you go. So my expectations aren't ever through the roof. It's never a place I'll crave or seek out but it's the type of establishment where I'm like "we haven't been there in awhile". Also works when you want breakfast for dinner and the kids or wife/significant other doesn't. I'd say we maybe make an appearance once to twice a year.

Nasty old gravy on the menu. Gross.

Food was fine and service was good but one of the menus we got was disgusting. It had gravy or something on it. It was very noticeable, and I find it hard to believe that none of the employees that handle the menus noticed it. Gross.

I'm not really a breakfast gal. But my MIL and my son are. So when we were visiting I went along for their beloved breakfast date. We had never been to this establishment but everyone was so welcoming and treated us like family. I don't know what the guy's actual title is (I think he said his name was Rod) but he should be the guy in charge if he isn't. If he is, he's a great leader. He treated us like we were his only guests, outside of introducing us to our neighbor diner. He accommodated our needs and kept a close eye on us to make sure we were good for our entire meal. Coming from Baltimore, this was like a breath of fresh air. Customer service is lacking greatly in this country right now. But when you have baby boomers taking care of you, you know you'll get great service. Thanks so much for the great experience.

On Easter Sunday I was a little reluctant to go out for breakfast and since I was alone I went. As expected the lot was full. There was a Full waiting area but I was lucky enough to find a seat at the counter. Jessica my server was cheerful and prompt. I was craving the biscuits and gravy. My food came out quicker than I expected. My Biscuits & gravy was delicious as always, my hash browns crisp. Jessica checked on me and kept my glass full. Good Service makes for a great experience and is well rewarded. I normally sit a a table. While sitting at the counter I was amazed to see how well the waitresses and kitchen worked together. There was three managers and a well trained staff working smoothly. You will also find. At check out there is a To-Go case of baked goods of pies, breads and cookies. For the busy take out there is a reserved parking spaces. I must say for traditional comfort food Bob Evans is a great choice for any meal. Note; The menu offers a diverse selection of meals and breakfast all day. Parking lot makes for easy access. Restaurant and facilities were very clean.

The family and I went here this afternoon for breakfast. It was first time I ever been to bob evans. I got the potato soup and I must say it was really good. Wife got another type of soup and the girls got biscuits and gravy. It was a fun time with friendly staff. The soup was fantastic I give it a 5. I enjoy it and will be back

THIS WAS TERRIBLE.the girl took forever and food was microwaved like Wtf and I found a hair in the food Cheeseburger

The menu looked delicious and full of temptations but silly me I ordered the meager country biscuit. A divided biscuit with one egg and sausage gravy. Home fries on the side. Sorry, not sorry, no photos of my meal. Not worth the effort. So....my server immediately asked What do you think of those home fries? I answered They look Dry and over cooked. She agreed!?! So she delivered a fresh batch several minutes later. They were standard fare. Decent. Nice interior. All earth tones. Clean. Coordinated. Pleasant.

The menu is pretty large for a fast casual restaurant, so there is something to every palate or just about every dietary restriction. I had the delicious Edgy Veggie: Fried green tomatoes with mushroom gravy on a biscuit with an iced coffee. The coffee is lovely and there is a good range of specialty lattes (hot or iced) including milk alternatives for the dairy challenged, such as myself. The staff was delightful and friendly, and equally as cheerful was the decor of the restaurant. No boring gray here! Despite many options our second day in town, we decided to return the next day. The modus operandi here is that you stand in line to place your order, then go find a table. At Sunday brunch time, the line can be long and slow to move. After you are seated, a runner will bring your food out. Our orders were correctly prepared and came out quickly. We ordered fried green tomatoes, loaded tater tots and donut holes as appetizers. The green tomatoes were just okay, but I would say that the dipping sauce that came with them was fabulous. The loaded tater tots didn't really seem like tater tots but tasted okay. The donut holes were decent. I ordered the Chick N' Ditch (chicken breast and waffles). The unpleasantly salty chicken was a filet. The French toast that looked like pancakes were good JP ordered the Avocado Toast and said it was just okay. The Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit was good. I was able to order a biscuit on the side (even though the paper menu didn't show biscuits as a side). The biscuit was good. I'm torn between three and four stars for Biscuit Belly, but because the ambience was lively and the interior appealing, I'll go ahead with four stars.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
