Seasonal Carne Asada Hash with a
    Kathy L.

I was in much need of breakfast since arriving early in the area for an appointment. I was seated once I arrived, luckily they weren't busy yet but had a steady stream of customers coming & going. My server Ella was immediately at my table to take my drink order, which was a coffee ( flavored creamer & sugars options were already available on the table) & a water. I ordered seasonal Carne Asada Hash with a side of million $ bacon. Let me tell you.... This was a lot of food. The hash was loaded with potatoes, steak, eggs, pico, avocado. So full of flavor & the tortillas were a nice touch. The million $ bacon was good definitely seasoned but not spicy ( to me) at all. Ella kept checking on me throughout my meal & I really enjoyed the chill atmosphere while taking my time & enjoy my breakfast

We love First Watch restaurants, this is another great one! It was very busy and they said we could sit at the communal table, an elongated table near the entrance with 10 chairs. So we did and so glad we did. Had a great time visiting people headed to a rodeo, a student on spring break with her mom and a couple businessmen headed to visit a factory. We were told that not a lot of FW restaurants have this type of table. Food was ordered and it came out fast. I had the power wrap. A delicious turkey wrap with mushrooms, egg white, spinach on a sun dried tomato basil wrap. I thought it was great! My SO Parmesan prosciutto & egg special on sourdough bread. It was special! Loved everything about this FW! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

My husband and I have begun to eat here on a weekly breakfast date on the weekends. We get breakfast on Sundays before the NFL football games, which starts our "sports-viewing" off right. We really enjoy our dining experiences here. The staff are always friendly, helpful, informative and efficient, no matter how crazy-busy they are. It seems that the entire staff runs like a smoothly-oiled machine. Once we are seated, the server usually comes to ask our drink preferences almost immediately. Everything else happens in a timely fashion without much wait-time. Of our many visits, we have never had a dish that was unappetizing or negative in any way. Because the food is tasty, the staff is courteous and the prices are reasonable, we will continue to dine here on our breakfast dates.

    Disappointment over a summer burrito
    Wendy B.

Normally I would give First Watch a five star everytime, but not today! To the First Watch CEO Chris Tomasso My husband was excited to come to First Watch this morning, where he learned that the summer menu has been changed to the fall menu. He was even willing to pay extra for the Burrito. No go! To see the disappointed on his face because his burrito is not on the menu. He says "I have to wait 8 months" " what happened to customer satisfaction" "Everyone else got what they wanted but me". Please place this man summer burrito on the regular menu so I can stay a loyal customers year around...

Best $11.99 pick two lunch special in town. Choices of half sandwiches, salads or cup of soup. I picked the club and a salad that has a delicious pecan, bacon and chicken dressing. All ingredients are fresh and made to order. The to go service is always fast and efficient.

Good spot to grab a bite...usually busy until closer to 1...not too bad if you eat it outside. Inside is crowded and loud, but regardless, food is fresh and good. They have specials each month, and this month is cinnamon spice...I tried the hibiscus drink and it was pretty tart, but since I'm not a fan of cinnamon I had them hold the cinnamon sugar spice on the rim...it probably would habe helped. The servers are ok, when they are busy, if you are outside, it may take them time tonget back with you. I've also ordered to go online from here, and it is super easy and convenient (as long as you can find a parking spot).

I love first watch but the food is a bit overpriced for the quality that I receive sometimes. Service and atmosphere was amazingly positive though!!

This place was recommended by a co-worker and it lived up to the hype. The food was outstanding, fresh, and mind blowing. The whole pancakes are very large, tasty, and eye candy. Got the Banana one and tasted like Banana pudding. The kale juice was out of this world for a healthy drink, I could drink this everyday. My wife loved her whole pancake and morning meditation juice as well. On a scale of 1 to ten, she rated them both a ten. The place was very busy and were seated in ten minutes. The waitress was fast and friendly. The place was spacious, with tables both inside and outside. Plenty of parking on it's lot. Definitely will be back to try more stuff.

Creamy cheesy grits with shrimp, sausage, peppers and sun dried tomatoes. I found it to be good, minus the sun dried tomatoes.

The food has never disappointed. The service is always attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is nice and clean, like your typical first watch restaurant.

    The Traditional Breakfast
    Kaelin C.

I have been here multiple times and every time is amazing. The food menu is extensive and if you're with a group, everyone wil find exactly what suits their fancy that day. Traditional breakfast/ lunch is a solid staple, but their grain bowls with quinoa is usually where i end up. I also love their juices (kale and morning are yum!) and get those often. Service is great and friendly, and usually on weekends there is a bit of a wait because of how popular it is. On sundays we tend to order delivery and it's always prompt and delicious-something i look forward to!

    Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl
    Olga S.

Great food, great service, awesome juices. We tried their seasonal pomegranate pear juice. It was delish. I wanted to try something different this time so I went with the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. Boy was a happy with my choice. It was bursting with flavor and had plenty of chicken. It was the perfect portion size and the price is right on point. The only think I would add is some pine nights for some crunch. The chocolate chip pancake was excellent. It was huge but my son was able to finish half of it.

The modus operandi here is that you stand in line to place your order, then go find a table. At Sunday brunch time, the line can be long and slow to move. After you are seated, a runner will bring your food out. Our orders were correctly prepared and came out quickly. We ordered fried green tomatoes, loaded tater tots and donut holes as appetizers. The green tomatoes were just okay, but I would say that the dipping sauce that came with them was fabulous. The loaded tater tots didn't really seem like tater tots but tasted okay. The donut holes were decent. I ordered the Chick N' Ditch (chicken breast and waffles). The unpleasantly salty chicken was a filet. The French toast that looked like pancakes were good JP ordered the Avocado Toast and said it was just okay. The Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit was good. I was able to order a biscuit on the side (even though the paper menu didn't show biscuits as a side). The biscuit was good. I'm torn between three and four stars for Biscuit Belly, but because the ambience was lively and the interior appealing, I'll go ahead with four stars.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
