Holy MOLY! When I drove up at this Bob Evans in Macedonia, Ohio near Cleveland I was feeling such hunger pangs that it was as if I had been sat on my stomach by a WWE wrestler! I was famished! Excellent service and food at affordable price. It was late and the crew was about to gear up the entire restaurant and call it a nite - but you know the Rebel Chef (me): my charm works with the girls and they let me snag a table near the window side and a view of the roads outside.. Ordered the one last French steak meat dip sando this Bob Evans had (and like I said, this one was actually IN Ohio, where Bob Evans is really originally from - so I was amped). The food came out steaming, sizzling and the chef must have blasted the grills for one last bonanza - because I almost burned the hell out of my throat. After I drenched all that meat, bread and cheese in au jus, that was it! My hunger was squelched! Thank you Bob Evans for staying open just a tad bit longer in the evening. Also, thanks to the brave waitresses who allowed a street-torn Highway straggler to amble on in and extinguish a colossal NEANDERTHAL hunger. When I opened the door I must have looked like 'Starvin' Marvin', all with a concave stomach and in serious need of man-nourishment.. practically howling for the menu. I spelled it six times. and the last two times we got the wildfire RANCH chicken salad The whole point of that salad is the dressing. Well first off coffee coffee coffee cause it's flurrying out a bit. Need warmth! Haha then gimme some banana bread with my coffee! Just sayin'. Our waitress is really nice and quick ( mentally and moving wise). Now food today ...I wasn't going to eat a big breaky cause we ate at Outback lastnite. But what's with the hunger in the morning???? Thinking I'm having coffee and maybe banana bread that's it! Tried to psych myself out.. nope gotta eat! So I choose small. I ordered the smaller value area "Country biscuit breakfast". Never have I had it and it was good too! Think I found my small breaky fav. I opted for no potato's chose grits. They were in a bowl and nice n hot with butter. Now all this was prob not lo cal ( natch) but the right amount! Bf chose the Wildfire chicken dinner size salad. When it came it was deep fried chicken oops. He would have preferred grilled chicken. I haven't been to Bob Evans for a few years. My friend suggested the 3 course meal would be a good idea. I got a potato crusted flounder with fruit, he got a blackened steak with sweet potato. We got raspberry vinagrette salads, sundaes and some bread. :) yeah 5 types of bread, unbeatable, they gladly accept vouchers. The staff is friendly, very clean, double wiping tables. Customer service it top notch at this Bob Evans Restaurant. Hostess rewashed our table as she didnt likw the way it looked. Even wiped the menus before giving them to us. Waitress was very attentive. 1/17/2020: Bob Evans strikes again. If it was me, I would never order take-away from this place again. It's almost as if they give us the wrong order on purpose, but I think it boils down to a bunch of kids working there who can't tell the difference between a chicken breast and a chicken thigh. Staying in one of the hotels next to the restaurant, I decided to give them a go for breakfast to avoid driving somewhere. My experience from start to finish drove home that this is a popular restaurant with many regular customers. Which is both good and bad. On the good side, everyone I interacted with (including the couple at the table next to mine) were ridiculously friendly. The host and server were exceptionally nice, and service was quick and professional. Watching the servers interact with some of the other tables, I knew I was in a place where "everybody knows your name." Now to the bad side. I wanted breakfast, so ordered something simple. Two eggs over easy, home fries and pancakes. The food arrived quickly and looked nice and fresh. Unfortunately, nothing was seasoned. It's a rare occurrence when I actually have to use the salt and pepper at the table, but it was the only way to get any flavor out of what I ate. I'm going to attribute this to the regular, mostly senior clientele that I could tell the restaurant got. I'll most likely return later this week as I'm here for a few more days, so hopefully this was an isolated incident. At least I can say this place won't leave a bad taste in your mouth! read more

Bob Evans' Restaurants have really gone down hill -- just horrible. Their products in the grocery stores are unhealthy and full of poisonous hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup. Bob Evans sold his business and the new owners have really made his name look bad. I recently had the sausage gravy and for some reason it was brown and not the creamy white gravy that it should be and it lacked any sausage bits - unbelievable. My eggs that were cooked over easy were cooked in some sort of clear oily possibly trans-fatty hydrogenated shortening -- gross. The oil was clear like baby oil -- eewww and had a chemical taste to it. This used to be a great place to go to. Now I avoid it an cringe when I hear its name. Cracker Barrel is putting them out of business. These new owners are not only killing the business but they are ruining the good name of Bob Evans. Bob Evans used to stand for quality but not anymore. They need to get back to natural home-cooked on the farm meals. read more

5/20/16 I've seen Bob Evans products in our grocery stores but had never seen or been to a restaurant location. We decided to try it for breakfast. The restaurant itself was clean and very roomy. It had a really comfortable feeling. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly and attentive. My husband's coffee was always full and she checked on us frequently. I really wanted a big ol' plate of French toast with some protein but the only thing on the menu that I found close to that came with only one slice of French toast with eggs and sausage or bacon so I chose that. The eggs were really, really bland. No salt whatsoever. I also didn't care for the sausage. I'm used to having Johnsonville at home (and whatever Perkins serves). This just seemed like there was some spice or something missing. The French toast was fantastic. I should have stuck with the big plate of toast and just ordered some protein a la carte. My husband enjoyed the omelet he ordered and my son had already eaten at the hotel but he mowed down a plate of French fries and seemed quite content. Food took far too long and service was slow. The picture when you first walk in, the treat people like family one, is more than hypocrisy. Not only were they mediocre, but my family and I heard profane language and disrespectful discussion among the staff about working there and their coworkers. As a regular, I've gotten to know a number of the waitresses a little and they're always friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to be nice to my kids.
