Took a while for the waitress to take our order. No big deal. Got our drinks and then we waited and waited and waited for our food to come. 20 plus minutes later and nothing. All we ordered was a Bowl of soup, half sandwich and a salad. Waitress never came by and said it's on the way or anything like that . The place was not crowded. We decided to leave and saw that the order was finally being prepared. Food came and it was terrible. We complained and the manager had to decency not to charge us. After staying the night in Martinsville, WV for a family visit we came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning... They weren't busy when we got there, but became very busy within about 30 minutes after getting seated. It's the typical Bob Evans menu. The reviews weren't very high, so my expectations were low, but I have to say that our server was spot on and excellent! Friendly, helpful, and very courteous too! I wish I remembered his name, because he deserves to be called out! The food was actually spot on as well! Went here this evening 7pm for a bowl of the famous loaded potato soup and was brought a 1/3 of a cup of what was left of the soup they had. This looked very nasty and I said thank you but I'm not eating that. It looked like it was watered down and left over from Another table. No scallions. I paid for $3.00 for my Diet Coke and left. Excited to see a Bob Evans, I walked in and was not treated for about 5 minutes, then when I was acknowledged I did not recurve a hi or welcome, I recurved a young lady with attitude stating "it will be a ten minute wait". They were open on Thanksgiving! I was grateful for this after a 6 hour drive from Ohio to West Virginia. The service was okay and the food was okay. The eggs were scrambled but like homemade eggs the white and yolk wasn't fully incorporated into each other so the eggs didn't look so good for a professional meal. Good food, good service and conveniently the closest sit down chain restaurant to the VA Medical Center. We needed a meal before my dad's next doctor's appt and we wanted a place that offered full service meals at 10:30am. Thanks to yelp, we found Bob Evans! They seated us immediately! Our server was Dave and he was friendly, quick to take our orders. I love a place that offers me breakfast all day as well as a nice burger at 10:30am! We ordered a plethora of dishes from Sausage Biscuit and gravy to full sized burgers. One of us ordered their chicken fried steak while another ordered a nice bacon and egg breakfast. The choice of bread options included their famous pumpkin bread. Food arrived in a timely manner and thankfully, it was all hot and fresh. I didn't really care for the biscuits in my dish because it lacked in soft and fluffy category. The sausage and gravy was quite yummy. My home fries were SO SALTY that I think they emptied out their salt shaker. Their chicken fried steak was SO yummy! Seriously not sure why this dish is called 'chicken' fried steak when there is no evidence of chicken. We all snagged a taste of it, and as expected, it was SO good. My dad got his usual burger and fries. This was gigantic in his eyes and he enjoyed a nice freshly fried platter of fries. Bob Evans is a great restaurant go stop at if you are traveling North to South or South to North. With locations in PA, West Virginia, Virginia and the Carolina's among others, you will have exposure across a wide area. Similar to a Denny's...perhaps slightly more upscale (hey we love Denny's too), this particular restaurant is convenient off exit 12 of I 81, has a friendly staff, and has healthy options. I decided to try a FAMILY SIZE meal. Sounds good, pictures looked good but misleading. I ordered their Turkey dinner. It came with roles two sides and stuffing. They provide plenty of stuffing and an adequate amount of roles and mash potatoes and green beans but they only provided about enough turkey for two dinners. I was told I would get enough for four meals. I gave 2 stars because the service was pretty good it was pretty pricey. I had soup added to the bill and it came to just over $60. Not worth it. The cranberry sauce was left out. I don't recommend this meal and won't buy it again. read more

I ordered the Big Egg Breakfast. 3 eggs over easy, sausage links, and hashbrowns. The eggs were closer to over hard. One of the 3 links was burned even on the inside, one was almost burned, and one was barely cooked. The hashbrowns seemed like they precooked it for another order, put it under a heat lamp for an hour, and then served it to me. The toast was pretty much the same; over toasted bread that sat for several hours. The whole plate looked and tasted like leftovers heated up in a microwave. The food was just horrible and I will NEVER go back to this place after several bad experiences with food quality. The server was great, however. She was friendly and courteous. I wasn't expecting a fantastic meal but at least an experience on par with restaurants in its realm. Bob Evans, or at least this location, is just bad. I've only eaten at another Bob Evans once in Richmond like four years ago, maybe. And it was similar to IHOP for breakfast. So now I'm in this interesting part of West Virginia where every restaurant is closed on Sundays and I can either eat fast food or Bob Evans. And I just wanted some scrambled eggs. This meal was the worst meal I've had in years. In a nutshell, service was painfully slow. I was constantly flagging people down. For a seat. To clean the crap off the seat and table they gave me. To place a drink order. To correct my order. To get my check! My server was insanely despondent. She messed up my order, which was basic. I was served an omelet that had more cheese than egg. I returned it because I ordered scrambled eggs. I opted out of cheese this time after seeing the excessive amount. That didn't matter, though, because she served me my scrambled eggs with a SLICE of American cheese on top. Barely melted, I was able to peel it off and eat my ONE scrambled egg in a single bite. I really don't know what happened with the eggs and I didn't dare inquire. The home fries were flavorless semi-raw cubed potatoes. I don't know what happened to the sausage I ordered and I didn't care. They gave me extra pumpkin bread because I didn't want biscuits. That was the best thing I ate. And so, essentially I paid $12 for one scrambled egg, a glass of orange juice and some pumpkin bread. I really would've been angry or "hangry" if I wasn't in such a chill mode. Terrible in every way. The BE in our town closed and I was looking forward to BE food but BE should close this place. Waited 15 mins to have order taken and then over an hour for food. We should have left, it made us late for an appt - I asked the waitress how much longer and she said they only had one cook but I saw 2 in the kitchen. The food was not even edible. Come on - a breakfast place that can not fix pancakes??? Awful. The omelet was so greasy, my husband took one bite and could not eat it. Typical Bob Evans food. Rolls were warm, hash browns not so much, glazed carrots weren't glazed at all. Waitress Hayleah was pleasant at first & went down hill from there. She made it completely obvious we were in her way of going home & rushed us along. Especially when she handed us our bill upon ordering dessert. (We were barely in the car before she dashed out the door.) Brownie sundae looked NOTHING like the picture but was warm & ice cream was yummy. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant in Martinsburg. After entering the business with no one waiting to be seated I stood at the receptionist area and was never greeted even though the manager looked at me and waitresses kept going by. After waiting for about 15 minutes I was still never greeted still never acknowledged and another woman walked in behind us and was seated immediately. I then stood up and left the restaurant with my son and we went to a different restaurant and had a great meal. I know it was Veterans Day and all the restaurants were busy but this is no excuse to totally ignore Customer's. read more

Then once we actually got our food it was cold and both the French toast and pancakes were not cooked the pancakes were basically still batter. Favorite of a friend...been here and Winchester, VA locations recently. Very good food and good service. Clean restaurant. Wife had panko fried shrimp with french fries. Liked them both. The french fries were real cut potatoes, not frozen like other places. House salad was also good. I had the grilled chicken breast. Lightly seasoned and grilled to perfection. Nice and tender. Two chicken breasts on this meal, so I took one home. One of the better, more consistent, family chain restaurants, and I'm generally not a fan of chains. read more

Went in and was immediately seated. the hostess took our drink orders and did not tell the waitress, and she acted very annoyed to us regarding that. she took our orders for our meals after getting our drinks. we could hear our waitress and the cook arguing. The food took an hour to come out and when it did it was incorrect because the waitress did not write our order down. My boyfriend got the "Double Meat Bowl" or something of the sort which is advertised to come with red potatoes... my boyfriend somehow received sweet potatoes instead which is extremely weird and it made the meal taste weird. He's not allergic to sweet potatoes thank goodness but if he was there definitely would've been a problem. I don't understand why the staff would not just let us know if they did not have regular potatoes I also want to state that I don't think that our waitress is a bad waitress whatsoever but I think Bob Evans needs to hire more staff so that their waitresses can have the ability to do their job properly. The waitress should not have to yell at the cook to make the food correctly or handle more than five tables herself while there are others standing in the back. We go to Bob Evans restaurants all over the United States because they are a well known, established and respected chain that makes American food favorites. I love their waffles and sausage, and my parents know they can get their eggs prepared just the way they like. This is and should be true at all locations, no matter where someone travels in the US. Well, after having our breakfast at the Foxcroft location in Martinsburg, WV, we were not very happy or pleased with the food. First, the meal took unusslly long to come out,. I ordered the waffle & it was great, golden and hot, but the sausage was under cooked, that bacon was super hard (not crisp) as if it was over cooked in the microwave, and given to us on a plate full of grease parents were unhappy with the eggs, but our biggest issue was the long time it took to get breakfast, which should be the quicker meal. The food was good; the service was not. This restaurant happened to be right outside our hotel, so we stopped in for dinner. It took forever to get the waitress' attention and then even longer to get food. I ordered a side of bacon, which was under-cooked and nearly raw. Once I got the waitress' attention, she took the plate and did not return with the re-fired bacon until she presented the check! I travel a lot on a motorcycle and will often get breakfast at Bob Evans. Great variety, great coffee too. I don't eat meat, but my buddies love their sausage and gravy. I love their grits! Service can be a little slow because they can get crowded. .. Recommended! read more
