This is the first time I've experienced literally no service. Me and my girlfriend came in and no one came to seat us or even ask if we needed anything. On April 15th, I ordered online- arrived @ designated time @ Bob Evans in Martinsburg, WVa; cashier tells me they did not receive ANY online order-she went to get manager- tried to show both of them my email confirmation of order, which had my name on it- (neither looked at my confirmation)- I was irate at this point: tyis order was pd for by credit card, and I started to say forget it- i just want charge cleared- cashier asked me if order could be under another name-i said no-she asked me if my name was ____(cant remember ) i said no and repeated my name - at first, manager (lori?) came out, asked me what I wanted (said it just that way to me, no politeness); .I repeated I wanted my ordered items or the charge taken off my credit card- several minutes later manager came back after searching the back area, (while I'm getting later for a scheduled appt..).Finally, they determined food that was being bagged by cashier on the inside counter ( the ONLY ORDER THERE!) WAS MY ORDER- the cashier ( have forgotten her name) TURNS TO MANAGER AND RUDELY SAYS SHE THOUGHT I SAID MY NAME STARTED W A P(?), NOT AN "OH"-(SARCASTICALLY)- I responded w equal sarcasm-"Sorry if you couldn't hear me behind a facemask ( why didnt she look at my phone- the written confirmation had my name on it! (By now, I'm sensing some negative attitude from two locals, because of my ethnic sounding last name!) Then manager asked me if i needed anything else- I asked for 2 shopping bags ( I know Bob Evans has these), to combine several smaller bags, (over $100 food)- she told me no, so I eventually had to make several trips to car ( manager did offer to help, after I already began moving them) Before I began moving stuff to the car, I said i wanted to go over the order, (had takeout items missing in past- usu associate goes over this with me; this time, both cashier and manager walked away, and I was left to do this at the counter, by myself (RUDE: I ASKED FOR THEIR HELP!) then manager asked me what was wrong - I SAID TO HER: " NO CONDIMENTS, NO Utensils offered...- she then said she was just asking, bec the cashier was in the back in back in tears, (that I caused- I realize restaurant workers are under a great deal of stress right now, but taking it out on the customer is NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO; I do apologize for responding with equal sarcasm, but I guess if you're local, you can act predjudiced and get sympathy, but because I have a foreign sounding surname , I shouldn't expect decent service!) So, as far as condiments, was sent home w a side order container size of butter,- LOTS OF CATSUP CONTAINERS, sugar free jelly only-was asked if I wanted plates? (yes)-how many? (4), then was told by manager she'd have to go look for them (I said forget it: Why offer plates if you don't know if/where they are: to be deliberately annoying?) NO- WON'T COME BACK, AND PLAN TO PUT OUT REVIEWS on other websites, TO WARN OTHERS TO AVOID THIS BRANCH! ( If corporare Bob Evans has ANYTHING TO DO WITH which branch closes, WHY CLOSE the Bob Evans I usu go to in Hagerstown, Md. The only way we entertained the thought of going there is because Cracker Barrel had a 45 min wait. Should of stood in line 28 min and we still didn't have breakfast,Paid for the coffee and left. read more

We come here all the time and this past time makes me not want to go back waited 30 minutes to order a drink and then another 20 to order food then waited an hour for the food. If I could have given 0 stars I would. I seen one family actually get up and leave. I still paid full price which in the past when we waited a little longer we actually got a discount. I've been in the customer service industry myself for 15 years. My experience today was unacceptable. It was busy so it took about 30 minutes for our order which is completely fine. However the waitress kept disappearing. She was suppose to bring us lemon and creamer for our coffee. After waiting 20 minutes we asked another waitress and she got it for us no problem. Then 15 minutes after that our waitress returned and realized she forgot our stuff. A little irritating at thing point but it was fine. I then asked her for a Take out box and our checks. (Which were split) Here's where it became ridiculous we sat there for another 20 minutes!! Finally I approached the front since I couldn't see our waitress anywhere and asked the lady there, if we could please have a to go box and our checks and informed her we could not find our waitress and she hadn't been back. 2 minutes later the general overall manager (The one who is suppose to insure customer satisfaction) came with a box and 1 check, I attempted to inform her of our service and that we hadn't been getting anything we had asked for and that we couldn't find our waitress, but before I could finish she cut me off and said "she is in the back making side salads." Then when my friend told her they were suppose to be separate checks she told her they could split it up at the register and then turned her back and walked away. (There were cards upfront for contacting management and I was astonished when the cashier told me the name on the card was the same woman whom we had just encountered!) This poor treatment is upsetting and makes me hesitant to return. As I stated above I've been in customer service for 15 years. I am very understanding, things get busy, or people can be short staffed! Had she taken the time and had at least apologized or had treated us kindly it would have been no problem! I do want to say the young man at the register was very kind and sadly checking out with him was the best part of our experience. read more

Worst service I've ever had! The last two times I went there have been unlike any other service I've had anywhere. One time was when they had the meal with dessert special, which my husband and I both got. We were brought our food, then the check about a minute later. We waited for about 20 minutes after we finished eating to order our dessert, but after bringing the check, we never saw a single waiter. The last time I went, we waited at our table for 15 minutes after being seated before our waitress ever realized we were waiting there. That time, at least, the waitress was very apologetic and made up for it with a discount and free dessert. Nevertheless, it's not worth waiting around all day. read more

Very very very slow service, over an hour wait for food which was absolutely ridiculous considering there was only 5 tables in there IF THAT... on top of that the waitress forgot to bring out our side after the long wait for out breakfast and we had to wait almost another 10 minutes for hash browns. Very poorly ran. Busy, slow service. Tables stayed dirty the whole time we were here and then there was a half hour wait. Cold food, waiting for refills and extra napkins the whole time. No change in their register and very rude about asking for fives or tens instead of 21 one's. Two managers on the floor looked like they didn't know what they were doing and the younger one extremely rude. Seriously need to rethink their idea of service. Hostess didn't know what she was doing at all, instead of standing at the front twiddling her thumbs maybe she should clean off a table or two so people could actually sit down and eat. Ordered for the first time online and had it delivered. Right on time delivery was fast and easy. Food was cold and had to be reheated but otherwise it was good. The potato soup on the other hand was awful. Tasted like the bag soup you buy at Big Lots. Hard and unable to chew. Turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans were good once reheated. I went with two other people early last Sunday morning. The place was half empty. It took a long time to get our food, and when we did, none of us got all of what we ordered. One order, the waitress seemed to suggest, had not even been put in. That guy never did get everything he was supposed to eat. The two of us started eating and sharing food with our third friend. The service was an unmitigated disaster. I can cook better than BE -- not a fast league. You go to breakfast to be waited on and have a relaxing meal. It is far less relaxing when the service is incompetent. When the bill came, none of it was correct, either, in too many ways to describe. But it probably reflected the food that finally arrived, so at that point, we just called it a wrap. If you go, expect delays, and confusion, and you likely won't be disappointed. read more

One of the better chain family restaurants, this was a decent meal with courteous service and clean environment. The menu selections for kids are pretty extensive and provides plenty of healthy eating options. As for other food items, anything with sausage is going to be a winner, but the salads and Southern cuisine items are pretty decent. read more

Went for late breakfast on a Saturday. Wasn't too busy. There was a 15 minute wait for a table and we were offered the counter. That had to be cleaned before we could sit. The hostess did not put down fresh placemats or give us menus. After watching the manager and 2 of the wait staff laughing and joking and practically wrestling each other, one of them pointed out that we needed to be attended too. Our drink order was taken, still no menus. My boyfriend went back over to the hostess stand and just grabbed 2. We placed our order pretty soon after. We watched as the order window filled with plates. There was no one at the window to distribute all this food. I have observed this before at this location. When we got our food... my sausage patties were undercooked, charred on the outside but pink inside. And my eggs were undercooked (it's hard to get a properly cooked over-medium). My family used to love eating at Bob Evan's. The service is awful, the food is not what it used to be, portions are much smaller than I remember. I will have to try to remember this experience the next time I am feeling nostalgic. read more

Great professional staff and service. No horse playing like at the Ranson/Charlestown IHOP. Waitresses and cook staff will get your order out to you quickly. Have been to both local IHOP and Bob Evan's restaurants many times. Went there for breakfast and was really disappointed. #1, the iced tea was cloudy. I was told it "should taste the same". I couldn't even taste it, due to how it looked. Opted for diet coke. #2 Ordered a western omlet & fruit. She said it came w/toast. What I got was not an omlet. It was scrambled eggs w/chopped ham & veggies dumped on top. I said something to waitress, she hemmed & hauled around & when I said "does this look like an omlet?" she said well, this is his 1st day working by himself. Went to Bob Evans and picked up food I ordered online. I have never had Bob Evans. We ordered the family country fried steak with potatoes and corn and biscuits... and two slices of coconut cream pie. When I picked up my order. Not one person greeted me ,yet saw me standing by the register. It was by no means busy compared to staff to customer ratio. The manager an older lady was helping traying food and seating new customers. And she was the only person to acknowledge me. Another customer on a bench informed me she too ordered online and had been waiting awhile. After bagging my order and informing me they were out of coconut pie, I was given lemon and peanut butter pie instead, she threw in a box of cinnamon baskets free. We arrived back at our hotel room and was so amazed at the food. It was FANTASTIC!. Best country fried steak I've had in years oddly. Potatoes were fresh and hot, and the herbed corn was different and phenomenal. Now the pie! .. I was sad I couldn't have the coconut pie I ordered but the lemon was delightful and delectable, the peanut butter was rich, creamy and indulgent. I'm not sure how the service would be had I stayed. Hi, I have been going to Bob Evans and there is not a thing wrong about it. I am actually a nit picking type of person and I Love Bob Evans in Martinsburg, WV. It's a very clean place with the best of family comforts. I mostly go there on Sundays and my special favorite serving is meat loaf with green beans mash potatoes / gravy. As a Martinsburg resident, we come here about once a month and usually for breakfast. We have always been seated quickly and the serving staff has always been friendly and professional. The food is always hot and fresh and the wait, no matter how busy they are, never seems to be very long. Last night my husband and I, along with our two adult children stopped in for a later dinner. Three of us tried the newer "3 course dinners" and my husband opted for breakfast. We were all pleased with our choices (one turkey and two chicken fried steaks). The server was a peach. It had to be near the end of her shift yet she remained cheerful, helpful and checked back with us at just the right intervals. read more

Me and my family had walked into this restaurant chain many times before. Ever since they have changed and renovated this restaurant has gone down hill. So we all sat down to eat. We had ordered onion petals. When our waitress came back with our appetizer it was slightly burned. They were hard and crunchy they were nuked aggressively. Ok so when one of my family members ordered the three course right? Well we had ordered cinnamon bread. This rude inconsiderate nasty waitress named Melinda.( Note that she was not our waitress but covering for another girl that waited us.) So we were expecting to get our bread. She completely ignored us like we were not there and served OUR bread to a table diagonally across from us. The people from that table said we didn't order that bread. She laughs and snatches the bread from that table and says this: "Whoops! I'm sorry I've given it to the wrong table." All of us were shocked! Then one of my family members spoke up. "Hey we order cinnamon bread." By that time she was gone but the cook overheard us. He glared directly at my family member. Then we waited an hour for our meals. The family member that was being glared had ordered chopstick steak with grilles mushrooms and onions. The "steak" was nothing but hamburger. Those mushrooms were completely burned. It looked disgusting and was nothing what it looked like when it was ordered. The manager came to us and saw this. He tried to get us anything else and cross it out ,but we refused because of the horrible service and they way we were treated. We had dinner tonight at Bob Evans in Martinsburg and it was a miserable experience. Our waitress, KAITLYN, had such an attitude and rude. Never once asked us if we need a refill or anything for that matter. She just threw the bill on the table. Also, the soup was not good - mostly broth and lukewarm. We addressed the problem with the manager and all he said was that he was sorry. Why not talk to the waitress and do something about the problem. Upon arriving at Bob Evans yesterday, the cashier was serving as host and table busser. She asked the people ahead of us to wait until she finished clearing a table and she took our name as well. When the host/ manager arrived, we had spied seats at the counter and chose to sit there, as it is usually quicker service. It took about 10 minutes for any,one to notice we were there and were ultimately greeted by a young waitress who announced she was going off duty, but she did take our drink order and ultimately our food order as well. Meanwhile, one cranky waitress was doing nothing but complaining. The young waitress additionally wiped down the dirty counter. My salad was very tasty, but 3 people were unable to find the salad dressing packets. My friend's eggs, ordered " over easy" were hard- not good for a place known for good breakfasts. The coffee, while better than it used to be, was not close to be as good as McDonalds, which is right across the highway. This was probably our last visit to the local Bob Evans! read more

We've eaten at the Martinsburg chain since they opened and everything was good and pretty much how you ordered it. The past 7 months have been terrible. Last week EVERYTHING WAS BURNT to the point it was inedible. Called and manager said we would get a $32 credit. This week I talked to 4 people that didn't have a clue what was going on. Finally after we stupidly placed another order, giving them the benefit of doubt, home we get and the order was not only messed up, one whole meal was missing! Back I go again just to have the girl argue that she saw it in the bag! If anyone knows the size of the containers you get your meal in knows that 7 meals and 2 cups of sausage gravy and biscuits can No Way fit in that bag! Get back home, order still wrong so needless to say the help nor managers just don't care. When you order something you want what you order, so I guess we will try Cracker Barrel!!!
