Walked in around 3PM, was not acknowledged by person at the register checking out another customer... waited nearly 5 minutes before someone else approached & asked what I needed...I stated that I was waiting to be seated. I was informed that person at register was also the Hostess. Waiter seated me, brought my water, and when I asked questions about what I wanted to order, he became very condescending, not answering my question, but rather insulting my intelligence & bypassing what I was actually asking. He then proceeded to tell me that I was frustrated since I was apparently bowing to his criticism, when I kept repeating my question, since he seemed intent on ignoring it. At this time I decided that I did NOT need to be treated in such a rude manner, got my purse & walked out. After I got in my car, I thought that it's no wonder that the restaurant was so empty if that is how customers are (NOT) greeted, and then treated by their staff. Food is pretty good but you can expect hit or miss service here and a very very slow response. For some reason they seem to attract the least bright servers in town who can't seem to get orders right. On the plus side, they're so used to messing up that it doesn't phase them at all to have to make corrections. For a place that is never busy, you'd think they could process a little quicker and wouldn't always be out of half of whatever you'd like to have. read more

Came for breakfast after work one morning and was delighted how good the coffee is! I had the Rise & Shine with hash browns and bacon. My friend had Chicken N Waffles which she said was delicious. Needed a breakfast place so we stopped here. Bob Evans used to be a go to breakfast place. At 9:00 AM on a Friday we were almost the only ones in there. That was a red flag. The building was rundown and dated. The wood floor is so badly worn. It needs a total refinish. Decor looks like it was from the 80s. Waitress was nice and food was good. The service today was awful. Granted, it was a holiday. Ordered online and received email that stated my pickup time was verified for 1 pm. Since I figured would be busy, I got there 12:45. i want to start this review off by stating i've worked in the customer service industry for over 4 years now, so i'm always very patient and understanding when i go out to eat. our server, bri, was such a sweetheart, very tentative and overall the best part of our experience here. unfortunately, my father and i were in a bit of a rush, but the place seemed unorganized. there was only 1 cook working, with a fairly full restaurant and to-go orders! we waited about 40 minutes, and when the food finally came out i was disappointed to see my eggs were very overdone. before i'd even noticed though, bri was quick to say she was going to get me a new plate of eggs because she knew they were not how i ordered them! bless her heart. bri, if you read this, do yourself a favor and get you and your wonderful customer service the hell out of bob evans! read more

I haven't been to Bob Evans in a very long time, and I think I remember why now. The food was very bland and almost had no flavor. Seriously one of the worst waffles I've ever had in my life. The only reason why I am giving this location three stars and not one star is because of the friendly service I was provided with. Visited on a Sunday morning before a long drive home from the beach. We had a party of 7 so it was a few minute wait. We were seated after a few minutes and then it was a few more minutes until our waitress came to get our drink order. I ordered a French vanilla cappuccino. The waitress was gone about 10 minutes before we got our drinks and was able to place our order. I ordered two eggs, hash browns, bacon, the cinnamon pancakes, and banana bread (I was really hungry!) the order took about 20 minutes or so to come out. But everything was great! The hash browns were kind of plain but the cinnamon pancakes with cream cheese and syrup were delicious. The banana bread was also very good. The French vanilla cappuccino was soo good that I ordered a second one! This was my first time to Bob Evans and it reminded me of a Cracker Barrell. Will definitely not be my last time to a Bob Evans! read more

Food was good. Service was great. Our server was very friendly and personable. She even spent a few minutes talking to the kids.

I ate a late breakfast here with my female. It was nice, the service was fast, the food was good. Their hollondaise sauce was FIRE. I did the build your own omelette option and it was very good. I am so disappointed. We have enjoyed Bob Evans since we moved to the area 7 years ago. The last couple of times we ate there the food has not been made well. This last time three of our party ordered chicken tenders (because they no longer make their boneless fried chicken) which was dry and yet limp. Another person ordered the fried battered fish and hers was a similar experience. We all felt as though the meats had been precooked and then refried to make them hot. We gave it two stars because the sides were still delicious, but I'm sorry to say, I don't think we will be back as again, the food didn't live up to our past experiences. read more

Sat in the back to charge my phone and sat there for at least 5 minutes before I finally got up and asked a waitress if I could get some service. Place was practically empty. Clearly the hostess who sat me failed to tell anyone there was a new table way in the back. Had the Blueberry pancakes and they were amazing. Waiting for the waitress and I could see she had two new tables, no big deal. When she came back I did ask for menu because I was still hungry. Took her well over 5 minutes to check on me and I said I'd like the strawberry shortcake, that took for ever as well. Moral of the story, if you sense the customer is not happy with the service then you need to be able to pick up on that and from that point forward turn that negative into a positive including stepping up your game and not continue with the slow bad service.. Managers need to be more attentive in their restaurant so people, tourists or locals don't have to wait long periods of time during the slow part of the day. Good thing is I'm a local and will be back and will always sit here cause I can charge my phone as I eat my food. Well see what happens to the service the next time I'm there. I come to this restaurant almost every time I visit Myrtle Beach - usually for breakfast. I was there twice this past week as it's close to where I stay. I was surprised at how empty it was, but I thought it might be the fact that it is off season. The service was great and the servers friendly. I had lunch the other day and the salad was very good - fresh and plentiful. I had breakfast this morning and it was exactly as I requested. Even the coffee was good. I have to eat smaller portions so it would be nice to see a senior breakfast option or some additional side type items that are bit less costly. The decor has been cleaned up over the past year or two as more and more of the clutter has been removed. I would go again. read more

Terrible experience here! The hostess seemed to think we were a burden rather than customers. She was one of the rudest people I've ever experienced at a restaurant. We got to our table and their weren't enough seats for our group, and when we asked if we could get 2 tables put together, she told us to "do whatever you want," and walked away. She was rude throughout the rest of our breakfast. Our waitress did her best, and took care of us very well and the second star is for her. The food was good, but came out sporadically. This is not out first time here, but it's our third and our last! The manager Kevin will do nothing about you being unsatisfying. The waitress will give you dirty looks and they are to busy talking to each other in the back to attend to your service. The restaurants is smelly and the CANDIED BACON SUCKS! it taste like regular bacon and if you want rolls they will CHARGE YOU EXTRA. i've been to many bob evans and they always give us free rolls. i order mashed potatoes and there was HUGE HARD chunks of god knows what. My friend order a bigger portion of mac and cheese and got the smaller portion and was still charged for the big one. And to remind you the Manger did not care. He argued that it was the "big" portion. Our waitress Cynthia never introduced herself, never asked how our food was, and never refilled our drinks. We have gone to this restaurant several times in the last few years, and it seems to me over the past few months, service has gotten progressively worse. It took us an hour and a half to be seated , finally get our meal and leave. Our waitress seemed more concerned with sweeping the floor than waiting on us. In addition, I ordered the chicken pot pie, which I usually love, but the chicken had a strange taste and I didn't eat very much of it. I did tell the waitress about it before we left so, hopefully they wouldn't serve it to anyone. At least our server kept bring us drinks even though they had no Diet Pepsi. Food arrived slowly and not all at the same time. We were told they had a new cook. I sat down to eat at this location on a road trip today. It took 30 minutes to get my food after I had ordered it. The waitress I had, named Kenzie, never offered to refill my parties drinks or even bothered to acknowledge the fact that we were dissatisfied with the service at the restaurant. I had to ask the host at the front if we could get more coffee. Everyone in my party (3 people) ordered water and iced teas that never got refilled. Only when we were brought the checks were we asked if we needed more to drink. Finally saw her and told her of the problems only to be assured that she wrote it down correctly but would tell the kitchen and manager. Both disappeared from view and 25 minutes later i asked another server for our check. Manager had to fingerprint code the register to accept our bill which he kew should have been altered to reflect their inability to provide what we ordered but he was unwilling to face up to his inadequacy with a customer and ignored me completely. Stopped in for dinner around 745pm and they had one waiter working with a host/cashier. We were seated quickly and our waiter came by fairly quickly. We ordered an appetizer and meals and food came out in a reasonable time, but the host delivered our food and forgot the rolls. When our waiter came back by we asked for them and he brought them quickly and apologized. As we ate our meals we noticed the host delivering other patrons food as well and as our glasses sat empty we did not see our waiter until he came by to offer us our check. He appeared almost disappointed that we ordered a desert to share and he could not tell us what was in the " special dessert" featured on the table card. When he returned with dessert, we asked that he bring more drinks and he left indicating he was going to get right on that, but never returned. We ate dessert and waited 10 minutes for a check and drinks. He never returned and we went to the cash register to pay without a check. In the middle of ringing us up a friend of the host entered and they had a conversation about her post of her new hairdo on Instagram or snapchat or whatever. These young men need to learn that you are at WORK and you need to focus on your customers and not your cellphones and social media. read more
