I would had loved to give the older lady a tip for sitting us instead of Jennifer the waitress. If she did her job better without talking so much she'd of got $$ for a tip. Just ordered the family size wild fire chicken salad for carry out. The picture on the menu looks good and has at least 20 bite sized pieces of chicken. This salad is supposed to feed 6 to 8 ppl. The salad I got had only 9 bite size pieces of chicken! How ridiculous it looked ridiculous to see those few little pieces on such a large salad. False advertising and a rip off! Solid on the cheap We stopped in for breakfast while crossing the state on the turnpike. Fast seating and great service. Lots of menu choices at reasonable prices. Food was hot and served quick. We got back on the road in no time. Definitely would stop again if traveling thru. read more

Bob Evans is outstanding, great food, great staff, always clean and feels like home. The issue is Bob Evans corporate forget about the people who made them successful. Plenty of open tables but a 45 Minute what to eat? This store is not understaffed but they are only working on internet to go orders? This is unacceptable in person customer's should be served first. If you are to lazy to get your butt up and moving, you can wait. This is my 3rd time trying this location and it got worse with every try. The 1st time I dined in, well at least I tried to. I waited for about 25 minutes after I was seated before I walked out. I saw tables that were seated after me placing their orders when I still hadn't received a drink. 2nd time I ordered delivery, when I got my food I was missing my condiments. For my 3rd attempt. Honestly disappointed by the quality of the food. You really feel like you are at a chain when coming in. Was our first time at this chain and really felt like they wanted people in and out. The food was also not the best. I took the only vegetarian option on the menu for breakfast (other than sweet things like pancakes, cakes and waffles) which looked really good : goat cheese, veggies and diced tomatoes. But everything was under cooked and not mixed well. My husband took the everything omelet and it was much better than mine. Coffee was correct. But something else that surprised us was that some of the deserts were without any "protection" of any kind. Pies were out on the open with people swinging by... not the best practices... This is one of the wife's go to places. The parking lot is usually full, so there must be something to it. Personally, I can take it or leave it. The good: 1) The place is always clean and tables and booths are spacious. There is plenty of room so you are not piled on top of others. They can also accommodate larger groups, which is a plus. 1) The burgers and their open face meals are pretty good. On to the prepackaged stuff..... The mediocre: 1) The staff is a little hit and miss. Sometimes they are on top of it and moving. This is usually when it is crowded. When it is not, they will not be overly attentive to you. I have also witnessed lots of drama and play out between the employees as if there is no one else around to watch. So either the managers are not in control, there are no managers or they are just not very good. 2) The food. It is just middle of the road, and a bit over prices. The two things that get me more then anything is the chicken and biscuits. First, there is no way these biscuits are close to natural or made on site. I think they are the kind already made and just looking to be reheated. Probably shipped in from over seas. They are disgusting. I have had them at other diners as well and it is purely a sign of laziness and not caring about your customers. Then they pour something that is supposed to be gravy on it. Second, the chicken. For a place that is supposed to reflect a 'farm' they sure miss it here. They provide extremely small portions. Not just small, but extremely small. Not even close to worth the money. One thing abut Bob Evans, you can go to any of the restaurants and can count on the food being the same. You can order your usual and it will be good. Well, Christmas eve and grandkids want fried chicken. I ordered the family meal and had it delivered (worth the extra cost to do all the cooking on Christmas day). My grandson that would each fried chicken everyday if allowed, would not eat it. It was terrible. So disappointing. I may go back for a regular meal in the restaurant, but for delivery I would have enjoyed a greasy pizza instead of throwing away 6 pieces of chicken and cooking when it was not planned. The potatoes and corn were ok. They packed the butter with the hot food so it was so melted we used our own for the rolls. read more

Service was ok but lacked timely refill on coffee and water. Turkey dinner was good but the meat was cold. I was never asked how the meal was by either the waitress or the manager. Waitress went home during our service and that was a slight hiccup until second waitress got oriented. Basically they try to keep you happy and are pleasant and polite. Serve me hot food and don't rely on the gravy to heat the meal. I'll return but can't tolerate cold food at today's prices. Usually food is hotter and no complaints. read more

Since Dan Evans (Bob's brother) is no longer running the corporation, the consistency has suffered greatly. These new corporate owners feel that quality isn't important and that they can live off past accolades. The amount of sodium is increasing in their dishes each time I visit. After getting burned a couple of times before on take out, we decided to give Bob Evans another try. BAD IDEA. After "triple checking" my order, the young lady at the counter said everything was there. It wasn't...and I was home! Called first, then went all the way back for the missing items. Same person tried to give me those missing items, but not ALL that was missing was there. Out comes the manager. She made sure everything was there and offered an apology (a little too used to hearing that from them). Overall, the food wasn't worth the effort, especially the side of carrots that I had to go back for. They were in tiny bits, were tough and tasted awful. Having worked for Bob Evans many, many moons ago I am not a fan of the company itself (mainly because they're racist) but can appreciate and value the people who work at any of there locations. However, as pleasant as these two particular employees are, I can't say the same for our strange and somewhat "Not all there" waitress. My sister & I both found her behavior, although attentive for the most part, odd. She was sweet & possibly just exhausted as we went later on in the day??? But I had ordered the cheddar/bacon pot. soup which was on the border of being cold & not all of the potatoes were cooked. Some of them were still raw - it just didn't taste anywhere near as delicious as I remember. So since I didn't finish it we asked for a cup to take it home in but received a box instead...not sure how our waitress expected that to pan out but I left both @ the table. And the home fries didn't have any of the traditional garlic like taste to them they usually do. So if you're looking for home cooked food, you couldn't be more poorly educated. Bob Evans has & never will make anything homemade. Almost all of the soups, pie fillings, etc are all pre-packaged artery clogging gunk. I stayed next door at the Microtel Inn this past weekend for my friends' wedding and since continental breakfasts are usually lame and the fact I had to help decorate for the wedding prior to being in it, I wanted something more than just a bagel...so off I ventured next door to this Bob Evans. When I walked in, I was greeted by the manager and I told him I only had an hour time-frame due to a wedding rehearsal to attend to by 10am. He immediately assured me that would be "no problem" and that they would get me in and out quickly. A waitress came over very shortly after and got me some coffee and then took my order. My friends whom I was sharing a room with decided to join me and she took their order and got drinks to them just as fast as she did me. Our food was out in no time and was great! I left a 50% tip (not a big deal considering my bill was $12) as a "thank you for accommodating me" note. A Bob Evans is a Bob Evans ya know, but they made my morning quick and rush free and I truly appreciate when people bend-over-backwards to help you out. Definitely would hit this place up again if I was in the area and wanted breakfast. read more

I have always loved Bob Evans' Restaurants for one thing...biscuits. Those buttery, fluffy, warm fresh baked goodies that dreams are made of! For the longest time my usual was an egg and cheese on those golden brown biscuits. It is still a favorite of mine, but this time I decided to get crazy. I ordered the tomato basil soup, and the cranberry pecan chicken salad. Oh, and a side of biscuits. The basil soup had just a hint of spiciness to it, and I cleaned the bowl with some of my biscuit. It was good to know that they sold those soups in to go containers for $5 per quart. Something to stew on for later. (See what I did there?) The salad was full of flavor, and surprises. After the first few bites, I was finding pieces of bacon hidden in the bottom for me! I am a firm believer that bacon makes everything better, but if that is not your thing, keep away from this salad! The portions were huge, as always. I don't mind this, because now I have food for tomorrow's lunch. The service here was a bit slow, especially considering that there were not a lot of people eating at the time we went (early evening). An average dinner for a chain restaurant, but don't expect fresh ingredients or an extremely satisfactory experience. Don't go here if you want to eat late. We arrived at 9:30 and were made to feel guilty because the wait staff wanted to leave by 10:00 sharp. The waitress repeated "because we close at 10" in about five different ways and nervously looked towards the clock throughout the night. Many of the staff had loud conversations near our table about how they "desperately couldn't wait to get out of here." Did takeout for this visit. Quart of potato soup, cole slaw and green beans were great. Those came with spoons and crackers. Also ordered a family style wildfire chicken salad with rolls. Rolls were good, salad was okay except the chicken didn't have the bbq sauce on it (plus not much chicken with it--$22.00?!) and there was no corn. Also no forks for the salad included. I ordered the a roasted Chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, and coleslaw and Hubby ordered the Meatloaf dinner! Attention those with food allergies: eat elsewhere. My wife and I visited this location after viewing the menu online and calling the store the night before to find out if they had dairy free options. We were told that we would get a phone call in response - which we didn't, but we didn't want to miss out on a family get-together and went anyways for breakfast. The wait staff, hostess and manager all told us that they do not have an allergy menu. They have no clue what is in their food. My wife finally had to force a manager to look to see what was in their cooking oil and butter substitute. Overall good service, but not helpful with allergy issues. read more

We have had a couple of bad experiences at this location. Service is extremely slow. Today at breakfast I called the manager over after waiting 40 minutes for our food. In that time we waited 25 minutes for our "bottomless" coffee to be refilled, too! Needless to say, it didn't end up being bottomless. The manager asked who our server was. I was taken back by this as a manager should know where her servers are assigned, right? No. The servers apparently pick their tables. I don't know that we will be returning anytime soon. read more

I stopped for breakfast 8/11/14 at about 11:15 AM at this Bob Evans. I waited in the lobby for seating. The cashier said it would be a minute, as she was at the cash register for a paying customer. A couple of minutes later, another customer came up to pay. Thinking I was going to be standing there, waiting to be seated I started to walk back to seat myself. No other employee in the greeting area to seat me. They seemed only wanting to get their money first before me. I started to walk back without a hostess, and the cashier gestured that it was OK for me to seat myself. Brittany, my server greeted me in seconds. She was very friendly and proficient in immediate greeting and menu knowledge. I ordered 3 eggs over medium, country fries and sausage links with rye toast. I specifically ordered fresh, toasted toast, because on prior occasions at this restaurant, the toast came to my table as just warm bread, no crust, not toasted. It was the same today. The sausage was barely warm and I was concerned that it was not cooked properly. The eggs were done properly, but had a brownish color as if they were fried in the cooking fat of a meat. A person, a woman came to my table and wanted to know how Bob Evans could make things right. She said she was the manager. It seems that they really want to be of service, but I wont be back, at least not for breakfast. Cashing out, the same cashier was present. As I was paying my bill, I mentioned that Bob Evans Hostesses and cashiers should seat waiting customers before taking bill after bill from those wishing to pay their bill. She said it was Bob Evans policy to "get the money" before seating people. If this is an indication promoting customer satisfaction and company policy, they need some work! read more

Bob Evans has evolved over time, with the changing American diet. It's strengths have always been its breakfast, and that has not changed. It used to be designed for travelers, but it seems to have shifted to cater to the locals. Gone are the gift shops stocked with travel toys and they have been replaced with bakery goods. Breakfasts are good, salads are OK, entrees are meh. My personal favorite is the biscuits with honey as a side for breakfast. Service here is attentive and friendly.
