This is my go to when I want some quick, friendly breakfast. Sure, it's a chain restaurant. It's also less than half a mile from my apartment, is reasonably priced, and doesn't make me want to go get an STD check like walking into any Waffle House makes me want to do. Okay. A bit dramatic. My favorite things here are their pancakes, and omelettes. I can't speak to anything other than these things, but I can assure you. The breakfasts are delicious. They fill your omelette up the way it should be. They have a large variety of desserts and sweets as well, but I'm not adventurous enough to take a dive into those yet. I do not like to go to chains often, but I would definitely go to Bob Evans if I am in the mood for breakfast, and have the perfect coupon. So, a year ago we came down from Phoenix, Az to visit my best friend. He brought us to Bob Evans. We had the candy bacon and fell in love. I've been talking about this bacon for a year. We are back in town for vacation again and we came here to eat because of the candy bacon. Our waitress Julie told us that they stopped serving them about 6 months ago. This broke my heart because this bacon is amazing. I asked to speak with the manager jokingly. She then went and grabbed the manger. Hilary came over and apologized that they stopped serving them. We've eaten there several times and each time we got the same waitress who totally ignored us and I'm not one to use the race card but it felt racist I would not normally eat at a chain restaurant but who can really mess up breakfast and it was my husband's idea we will not be going back. Every time we have eaten there we have watched our waitress cater to her other tables while ignoring ours and not only that we have watched as other diners who were seated after us get served before us. We were starving. We got here late the Sunday church crowd was mostly all gone it was 1:40. We didnt get out until 3:00. We had to wait for a clean table, not long about 5 minutes but, the side we sat on only had 2 full tables the rest were empty. We ordered drinks and Banana Nut Bread thinking it would come out first. Well, it didnt our drinks were out right away. We kept waiting thinking they'd bring the bread and silverware. They never did. I had to ask about 20 minutes later. She forgot to put the bread on our order. So she brought us 2 plates of bread which was really good but we had to dunk it into our butter because no silverware. Then we got silverware to spread the butter with. The bread was very good by the way. We waited a super long time for 2 breakfast plates. Finally they arrived and she asked if the bacon was too burnt. It was crispy looking but, my daughter would have eaten it until, I flipped it over and saw it was completely burnt on the other side. I understand it gets burned but, if she knew and they flipped it over to hide it from us that's unacceptable. She took it back and brought out the second piece you see in the photos. Probably off someone else's plate. It was not much better and I like crispy but, not burnt to a crisp. The eggs were the main issue they are suppose to be fluffy white poached not flattened out fried. When she took my order she asked how I wanted them. I said poached without the white part slimy. I did not say fried or boiled beyond recognition of remotely poached. We sat there for over 1 hour and 20 minutes to leave without my food. To be fair I did eat my hashbrowns off the first plate as we were starving at this point, and they were good. She did ask if I wanted to take it home in a To go box. I thought I'm not going to eat that mess here why would I want to take it home. The waitress was fairly apologetic and came back with our check and had removed the eggs from the bill, no mention of my daughters bacon though. I think I'll drive out of my way to the Bob Evan's somewhere else from now on. read more

In my experience Bob Evans is consistent. This location is gorgeous and clean. Since what I want usually never aligns with a meal offered on the menu, it's easier to just state what I want and ask it be ordered in the most cost effective manner. I ordered to go, and the server seemed new, so this caused issues. Another server sorted everything out and reviewed the meal as it was being packed. The meal was ok. Home fries more brown than I would like, but still tasty. It was ok, but probably not returning. The side road to access the store is difficult to exit if turning left, and I would just rather avoid it. read more

Visited this location two days in a row now. Yesterday we were seated in Vanessa's section. She was such a fun, energetic and happy server! Was on point with her service and our coffee cups never went dry. I don't see Vanessa today :(. Guess it's her day off. Was up early and decided to grab some breakfast instead of cooking myself. Decided to go to this place because I like this chain when I am on the road I wanted to see if they were good at home as well. The service was outstanding, the wait was short (they even apologized for that). Tried one of their omelets and it was very tasty. The coffee was a little acidic as it sat in the pot too long, but the refill was less so like it was from a fresh pot. On their menu they list biscuits as the breakfast bread of choice with everything, but you can substitute toast with instead (which is what I chose). I got my plate and it was hot, the service as I said before was awesome. The only gripe I had was getting my bill and getting out of there. if I was with my wife I would not have minded the wait so much since I was by myself it was a little awkward. What a nice surprise. Took my son to lunch and he suggested here because it's close to his work, I've never eaten here because I usually eat out with my husband and he refuses to go here, do to a bad experience at one in the Midwest! This restaurant is very nice on the inside. You are greeted by a lovely bakery with goods to go. We were seated quickly and waited on just as quickly ! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread with my side being onion petals. Chicken was ender and not dry. Bread fresh. Onion petals would have been better if they served them with a sauce, but they tasted fine. Service was good, everyone friendly. Menu was great, especially the breakfast menu. That's hubby's favorite meal. Told him about it because we're always looking for a good place for breakfast. He's caving in,, I'm sure we will be back to try it out! read more

Pleasantly surprised! Great service from Shirley (yes, she's tired of Airplane jokes) and really fast delivery of our breakfasts. We both opted for scrambled eggs w/cheese, bacon and these really wonderful multigrain cranberry pancakes. The bacon was thick and crispy, but a tad salty for me (my usual complaint in restaurants). The eggs were great, although they forgot my cheese - I opted to skip a re-grill since I was on a tight schedule. They have a sugar free syrup if you want it, we didn't... I had never eaten at Bob's - my only real opinion of this place was "Gee, my grand parents ate there all the time" Heh. The interior is cozy. Kind of Denny's meets Cracker Barrel in where I would position them. They even have a little pantry/store area at the front with canned and jarred goods. Yeah, I'll eat at one of these again. A previous breakfast visit to Bob Evans Sun City was so good we decided to have another, this time at the Brandon location. The place was slammed and we had to wait but it wasn't very long. We were seated and almost instantly our drink order was taken. Danielle, our waitress was über nice. I don't think I've ever been that happy at work, unless you count the day I retired from UA which was a most joyous occasion, but I digress. Coffee came, hot, strong and very good and I love I get my own carafe. As in Sun City I ordered the Farmers Choice, eggs, sausage, grits and French Toast. I was offered cheese in my eggs, no thanks, and cheese in my grits, yes please. Took quite a while for the food to come out but it was extremely busy. When it came out it was just barely warm. Everything was right but almost cold. The French Toast was odd, hard on the outside and not custardy at all, like it barely got dipped and there was no butter on it. Wife's eggs, home fries, bacon and toast got passing grades from her but she said it wasn't great. Throughout the whole meal Danielle checked on us and kept my mug full. No complaints. When the check came I was charged .50 for what I presume was the cheese on my grits. At no time was up charge mentioned. Come on Bob, you're better than that, tell people when you are up charging because although it was only fifty cents it wasn't fifty cents worth. On our way out I saw what the problem was. The area where the cooks put the completed orders to stay warm was overflowing with plates. There was literally no room for even a saucer. The servers just weren't keeping up and the food was getting cold. Management needs to look at this and fix it. So what's to make of all this. Next time we breakfast at Evans it will be at the Sun City location. read more

Here in Tampa for the bar exam. My hotel is right next to this restaurant. The hotel's milk smelled rancid and the coffee was not that great so I decided to pop in here. The coffee was fantastic and my server Dora made me feel right at home. I am still here actually looking over materials and refilling coffee. I got the biscuit and gravy. It was a little salty but still good. The biscuits were great. The gravy was brown - no biggie - I'm used to white gravy but open to new experiences. Bob Evans is always a good experience. read more

Newly renovated! Iced coffee is always great. Normally servers are very quick and accommodating unless they are extremely busy. Food is always consistent-my husband enjoys the omelets, I always get the sausage gravy. Rita was our server and she was great! This is a newly renovated location and I must say the inside looks fresh and clean! Definitely a great first impression when walking in. Got seated and greeted quickly. They seem to run a team server system. Which helps one person not get behind and leave patrons neglected. We had someone coming out constantly offering to fill our coffees (almost too constant, I was loaded with caffeine by the time we left!) Another person brought our food out as soon as it was made, instead of leaving it sitting in the window until server can finally get to it. This allowed the food to come out still steaming and right on time! As far as the food. I had a very filling and satisfying omelette. A good omelette requires 3 things to satisfy. Thick and properly cooked egg folded over. Thick, fresh, and quality sized ingredients stuffed inside. And proper amount of cheese melted inside to keep it from being dry and falling apart. Not to mention the proper amount of melted cheese in an omelette "melds" all the ingredients together in each bite. Not enough cheese and half your ingredients fall out before making it to your mouth, leaving you a plate with no egg and a bunch of loose ingredients. Two of my girlfriends and me ate here Black Friday morning for breakfast and the food was decent, but the waitress, Stephanie, not so nice. My eggs, bacon, and pancakes were tasty, but the waitress ruined the experience. She told us when we asked for something, numerous times, she was busy and we needed to wait. The waitress never came and checked on us and I realize she was busy, but she passed our table 4 times without asking how we're doing. When I paid the manager at the cash register, she asked "how was your food and service" and I told her the food was fine, but the waitress was cranky. She defended the waitress, Stephanie, and didn't even apologize for her rudeness. What the ? That's not good customer service. I have been going to Bob Evans for many years. It was my favorite place to eat. Tonight my wife and ordered different meals. Her meatloaf was cold and dry like it had sitting out all day. I order stake and shrimp, it came very well done (I ordered it medium). The picture on the menu showed a much bigger piece of steak. I did not think steak came that small. My meal was terrible. I said something to the waitress and she shrugged like it wasn't her problem. I later needed napkins my waitress disappeared. Three other waitresses were wondering by and seemed to have a talent for looking the other way as they went by. Simply the worst meal I have ever been served. I do feel sick after my meal, the Health Department should check on this place. The cook should not be cooking. I will not eat there again. Now, this location has become my standard because I love the iced coffee, the servers are always genuinely fun and pleasant, and the food is dependable. I had one of the burgers (sorry can't remember it's name but it had a spicy sauce, bacon and fried onions). The patty looked like one of those frozen ones they probably just threw on the grill. IT WAS STILL GOOD. Fast service. Went an hour before closing so, very quite. Son's chicken tenders were stale though and he said "the ones from Cracker Barrel have more flavor". They have snacks that could possibly be for traveling such as gummy worms and large dinner mints in those gas station type, 99 cent bags. Looks like some what of a bakery as well. I placed an online order and nothing was right and a lot was missing. Over cooked baked potato, mystery meat for a steak or they boiled it first. Apple pie was not baked all the way. Avoid this Bob Evans at all costs. I eat out a lot and I love the Bob Evans chain, but unfortunately this store was particularly bad. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. My girlfriend and I arrived at about 430pm on a Saturday, there are 5 cars in the parking lot, and three other tables being used, but when we walked in we weren't acknowledged for five minutes and when they did it was to say "one moment someone will be with you in a little". Once the food gets to the table half the order is incorrect, and the other three tables can be heard complain about their food as well. No exaggeration all three of the other tables had to send something back because it was completely wrong, and not just bad. The food itself was also not acceptable. When it arrived, aside from it not being correct, there was a hair in my girlfriends turkey, it was obvious everything had been sitting under a heating lamp for an extended period of time because a film started to develop on the tops of the gravy, and finally our server only stopped at our table to take our order, drop off the food, and give us the check. Poor service from beginning to end. I wish I wasn't so timid because I am truly upset that I paid for something so unsatisfactory. To help others stay away from this branch if at all possible. If possible I would have given this a rating of 0 stars. read more
