Avoid this Bob Evans at all costs. I eat out a lot and I love the Bob Evans chain, but unfortunately this store was particularly bad. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. My girlfriend and I arrived at about 430pm on a Saturday, there are 5 cars in the parking lot, and three other tables being used, but when we walked in we weren't acknowledged for five minutes and when they did it was to say "one moment someone will be with you in a little". Once the food gets to the table half the order is incorrect, and the other three tables can be heard complain about their food as well. No exaggeration all three of the other tables had to send something back because it was completely wrong, and not just bad. The food itself was also not acceptable. When it arrived, aside from it not being correct, there was a hair in my girlfriends turkey, it was obvious everything had been sitting under a heating lamp for an extended period of time because a film started to develop on the tops of the gravy, and finally our server only stopped at our table to take our order, drop off the food, and give us the check. Poor service from beginning to end. I wish I wasn't so timid because I am truly upset that I paid for something so unsatisfactory. To help others stay away from this branch if at all possible. If possible I would have given this a rating of 0 stars. read more

The food here is good and the menu is diverse without being very expensive. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is generally kind. However, the server didn't know the menu, it seemed at all and when we ordered a meal that came with 3 pancakes, covered in fruit, with eggs bacon and hashbrowns all we got where the sides and no pancakes. When told of this she promptly put in an order for pancakes but still didn't understand the issue. We got served a side of two pancakes with no fruit then was charged the full price on our ticket. We talked to the manager who did take off the pancakes but seemed completely unremorseful of the issue. Worse breakfast experience in a long time and perhaps ever. My wife and I both ordered omelets and she ordered grits. The food was served in a somewhat reasonable amount of time about 20 minutes. But the food arrived at the table stone cold. We took one bite of the food and asked for a bill for the coffee only explaining to the server that the food was cold. A short time later the manager arrived at our table and was apologetic and offered to have new orders but we were in a tight schedule and couldn't stay. If I could leave a zero I would. Two hours to get breakfast. While we waited for a table we observed that half the restaurant was empty. So just not enough staff for a Sunday at ten am. We also observed the food just sitting Cooked in the window because only one guy carried it out for the entire restaurant. We should have left. We waited forever for our food and it was cold. Kay the manager was so chipper at the register when we mentioned how slow they were we should have let her know she said. My visit here was my first time ever eating at Bob Evans. All of my friends love it there so one morning I finally had the opportunity to go. The experience was pretty average. Not over the top fantastic, but definitely not the worst dining experience I've ever had either. I LOVE breakfast and I was super hungry, so I wanted something that would offer a lot of bang for my buck. Unfortunately, we had to wait longer than normal for a waitress, but she came she was prepared to answer all of our questions and made good recommendations so that we could have everything we wanted for the cheapest price. She was also very friendly, almost to the point where it did not seem authentic, but I won't complain. At least she wasn't rude, right? Anyway, I opted for the Homestead Breakfast which included two eggs, choice of meat, choice of potatoes, two biscuits and gravy. I also chose to have my potatoes loaded. The meal was very filling and tasted pretty good. Again ,not the best breakfast I've ever had but definitely good and at a decent price for everything included. I also had coffee (of course), and it's always a plus when a restaurant offers flavored creamers. Way to go BOB! However on my burger they forget the mayo. This was the first time in the countless times I went that they forgot something. Generally pleasant service, but seemingly has some technical/precedural issues. I've eaten at this location on a fairly regular basis over the past half-year or so, and had been a customer of other Bob Evans in the past. On the whole, this location typifies the Bob Evans experience: the building is well-maintained both inside and out, the mood is calm and conducive to socializing with your party, the service is mostly friendly and competent, and the food is of acceptable quality--so long as you're willing to deal with a bit of quirkiness due to some . . . interesting managerial decisions. When you eat here, I recommend asking for Jennifer or Nick as your server on weeknights or Madison on the weekend. They each offer well-above-average service and enjoyable personalities. I've rarely had a bad server at this location, and the managers are polite, as well. As for the "quirky" management decisions, for one they have a tendency to clump customers together in the dining room, rather than spacing them apart, even when the restaurant is less than half full. I'm sure the reason has something to do with minimizing the amount of walking the staff need to do, and I can appreciate that, but I feel they could find a way to do so without cramming the customers together quite so tightly. As an example of why this is a bad idea, I offer my experince from tonight: the manager, Judy, sat a family of four at the table directly behind me then, in the process of attempting to put a booster seat at the table, hit me in the shoulder with it a couple of times. I wasn't hurt and she apologized immediately, but it was definitely not pleasant and there were eight other empty tables at which the family could have been seated that would have avoided the situation altogether. At the least, Judy could have warned me what she was about to do so I could get myself out of the way. The kitchen likewise has issues, although the waitstaff seem aware of them, and work hard to shield the customers as much as possible. As has been mentioned by other Yelp reviewers, the kitchen seems to run out of items on a regular basis--the family of four mentioned above attempted to order mac-n-cheese for their children, only to be told it wasn't available. The cooks seem technically competent, as the food is generally moist, flavorful, and appealing in presentation, but there, too, they have certain procedural issues. An example of that is with their current heavily-promoted special, a Brioch French toast with blueberry topping, which has quickly become a favorite of mine. The French toast itself has always been perfectly prepared, golden-brown and just chewy enough to feel good in the mouth. However, the kitchen's policy is to pull the blueberry topping directly from the refrigerator and pour it over the the piping hot toast. Needless to say, the combination of hot toast and 40-degree-cold berries leaves you with a plate of unappitizing, luke-warm food. The servers I've spoken with have noted a number of customers complaining about it, and usually recommend the customers ask for the topping to be warmed prior to serving, but it is up to the customer to actually make the request. I also questioned one of the managers--I didn't catch the name on her tag, unfortunately--and she advised me it is necessary for food ingredients to be kept at or below 40 degrees per law, and there was nothing they could do about that, which seems like a non-answer to me. After all, the sausage I ordered as a side-item to my meal would likewise have been kept at such temperatures, but was heated as a matter of course before being served to me. Why should a customer need to make a special request to not be served a lukewarm dish? I count this as another odd management decision. Quirks aside, I do recommend this location if you're looking for a place to have a pleasant meal and good conversation with friends or family, just don't be afraid to tell your server exactly what you want. Great food at reasonable prices with friendly service. Rusty was our server and he was fantastic! Thoughtful and fast. We had an event where it was uncertain if we would had a chance to eat for 10 hours. So we order the qt of soup to go and a pea an chicken salad. It was packed for our situation and was wonderful when we ate it. My husband and I had breakfast at Bob Evens and split the Farmers Breakfast. He had the two eggs, two of the three sausage links ( I ate one of those) and loaded home fries. I ate the cream filled blueberry crepe! It was wonderful. More than enough for both of us. read more

We have ate at the Brandon, FL Bob Evans three times. The first two time were borderline. This last time was the worst. Three strikes and you are out. We stopped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The waitress greeted us promptly and took our drink order and quickly returned with two coffees and waters. Sadly, my coffee was delivered with a full ring of lipstick around the entire cup. Disgusting, but the waitress hurried off to get me a fresh clean cup. We waited quite a while and noticed several people who came in 5-10 minutes after us, were receiving their food while we still waited. Just as I was about to look to flag down our waitress, she showed up with food. Sadly, both orders were totally incorrect. It was obvious we received someone else's orders. Back the waitress went to reorder the food. After the meal, we were given our check, which also had a mistake on it. There was an extra order on it. I pointed it out to the cashier and she removed it, but it shouldn't have been there in the first place. Final straw, used the rest room, but after washing my hands I noticed there were no paper towels. Lipstick/unclean coffee cup, wrong order, error on check, and no paper towels, can this place get any worse....well, maybe. But we won't be returning. I'd like to preface this by saying that I've eaten at Bob Evans (this location) countless times and I've never really had a problem or a complaint. The strawberry banana crepes are incredible and the chicken salad sandwich is fresh, chunky, and delicious. I'm a little disappointed that they don't seem to have the strawberry lemonade anymore and it only irks me slightly when I still try to order it and get a twisted face asking, "Rasberry lemonade?" However, my last visit to Bob's left me with a taste so foul that even the crepes couldn't save them. They were experiencing kitchen difficulties leaving them with only one working grill which is why our lunch took 30 minutes to be delivered. No biggie except that we only learned about this after the endless wait when we overheard our dipstick server tell another table. I'm convinced that the poor experience was due solely to the server we had - she was awful. My grandpa-in-law ordered a water and got a coffee. He ordered the pick 2 (soup and salad) with a baked potato on the side and got his meal sans the tater. When he said he'd ordered it her defense for not bothering to write it down was that it was a pick 2 and the potato wasn't included... Now I hate to pull the old "I used to wait tables" card, but hot damn. The attitude she assumed and the way in which she addressed a customer (actually saying, "What don't you get? It's a pick 2, not a pick 3") almost made my head spin. She was rude, disrespectful, and sloppy. She didn't even send a manager to the table to resolve the situation. She disappeared for a time and came back saying the manager was busy, but we could complain on our way out if we wanted. I won't even mention the ice I kept slurping hoping she would bring the refills I requested. Okay, maybe I will. Long story short, we complained on our way out the door (after my ninja-like father-in-law had already paid the bill) and received an apology from the cashier (who may or may not have been a manager) and received a few $2 off coupons for our next visit. I don't think Bob would have been happy. The only reason I'll go back there again in the future is because this was one snafu in a list of many pleasant visits. Have not been here since last year but omg! We waited for our table less than 5 mins then the hostess went to seat us at table, I went to pull my seat back then I immediately felt the nasty build up on the top of the chair also seat had food on the chairs and floor. Usually I love Bob Evans, especially the breakfasts, but this last visit was very disappointing. It was lunch and I saw that they were offering a chicken salad platter "made with grapes, celery and honey-roasted pecans on a bed of lettuce with seasonal fruit." Directly under this they advertised a chicken salad sandwich platter, so I assumed it was made with the same thing. It was not. It was a sickeningly sweet concoction of chicken, mayo, celery and pickles. I was three bites into it when I realized that it wasn't getting any better and it didn't contain either grapes or nuts. When I asked the waitress about it, she told me that of course the chicken salads were not the same, but "next time" I could ask for the "other" chicken salad on my sandwich. She did not offer to replace it then. And when I complained that the cole slaw was too sweet, she said that "next time" I could order a different side. Every weekend I come to Bob Evans because of its pancakes with strawberry topping. It's been more than three months that the restaurant does not offer strawberry topping. We dined at Bob Evans on Wednesday evening, June 20, 2018, party of 4. My 12 year old daughter ordered the chicken tender meal - 3 tenders and fries. She ate one and a half of the tenders, I finished off the rest after I had already eaten my meal. As soon as we arrived home from dinner, less than one hour after eating, I was on the toilet. She was up all night vomiting and with diarrhea. I was spared of the vomiting, but have been in and out of the bathroom over night and appears to be continuing this morning. We both woke up with lingering stomach pain. She'll miss a day of pre-paid summer camp (non-refundable) and I'll have to struggle through a day at work. The worst thing a restaurant can do to a customer is mishandle food and make them sick. I have had cold food, mediocre quality dishes, and poor customer service, but making a customer ill due to food mishandling is simply unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed with Bob Evans as we were long time customers and unsure we can trust their food handling and preparation to consider ever returning. I do not think we are permitted to state the names of the persons at the restaurant, but our male waiter's name is shared by one of the 3 Musketeers. read more

One of the salads was the wrong size, the other salad had bacon when I requested it not to, the soup was missing from the order, and I had to go back inside because they also forgot the tea.
