I have had them provide service on more than one occasion. Each time they manage to do a fantastic job. First was the broken water line in my yard...they were VERY accommodating, fast, pleasant, and just did a fantastic job. So, of course, I knew who to call when I needed further plumbing help. Next, was a dribbler in my wall...darned hose bib... And a tub spout... It was very nice to see a young lady come to assess the situations. I mean, it is 2022, but it was still a little bit of a surprise. Chloe was very knowledgeable, and got right to work figuring things out. Soon enough, I had a quote and detailed explanation of the processes to come. On the day of actual service, it was Chloe again. She did an amazing job on both dribblers! And even though she's a plumber specifically, she didn't make a mess of my drywall when she had to make an access into the wall. Clean, precise cuts, no dust left behind. Highly skilled, professional, friendly, and efficient. I'm liking Bob Larson plumbing more and more each time I use them. Great business... Thanks so much! read more

They do "what they came to do" and if it didn't fix anything, then that's not their problem anymore. I can't speak to the quality of their service but I can speak about their scheduling, dispatch, and communication. In a word....terrible. I had an appointment set up for Friday PM, 12 - 4. At 2:30 I was getting worried. At 3:30 I get a call talking about two trucks needing repair, we are trying to get someone out there. I will call you back in 20 minutes. I get a call from Bob Larson 45 minutes later. Missed the call but called back right away. The person that answered was different than the last person. Had no clue what was going on. Called back put on hold, and 5 minutes later told to leave a message. I check my messages and read one from Bob Larson plumbing that was left at 4:20. "uuuuhhhh sorry for the inconvenience but we can't get anyone out today. Have to reschedule for early next week. Not sure if this works." I wasted an entire afternoon waiting for them only to get run around and at 4:30 on a Friday I get asked to reschedule. NOPE...this doesn't work. Now I get to spend all weekend with no kitchen sink water. Stay away. If they don't have working trucks, and the ability to manage calls, dispatch, and customer service I can't imagine how they could do quality work. Calling a different plumber. Hey there, I hope you see this feedback, Bob. People don't appreciate having to give out ALL of their personal info and THEN being told that there is a substantial free to receive an estimate. I understand the necessity of charging for estimates, but for every company that does there is at least one other that does not, so it is not presumed by a caller that they will be charged for someone to come and give them an estimate. Therefore, you should tell a prospective client that you do charge before requesting all their information. Oh well, caveat emptor. NOW I know to ask that question straight away. I just wish I hadn't wasted 10 minutes of both of our days before being told this crucial piece of info. read more

I wish that I had better things to say about the company because the technicians were wonderful however the manager is a joke. They responded promptly to my request for a new water heater when the one in the house and my husband and I just bought needed to be replaced. The technician was incredibly friendly and patient as I had 1000 different things going on considering we were in the middle of moving. My issue was not with the technician or the service that they provided nor was it in the price. Always fair and I was very pleased. My issue is now I have been trying to contact them for almost a month to get a detailed invoice of the services they provided to submit to my home warranty company so that my warranty company can reimburse me for the water heater as it was covered under my policy. My home warranty company and I spent almost a month leaving voicemails and playing phone tag with the technician to get that information. After a month of trying to get a hold of someone, someone finally told me that they do not work with home warranty companies and that they are not able to provide the information the home warranty company needs to reimburse me. Obviously I was frustrated and the customer service representative that I spoke to said that she would gladly have the manager call me back and that he would tell me the same thing, which is that they do not work with home warranty companies at all. I asked her why they can't just send me a detailed invoice with information such as the size of my water heater they replaced, the model they used, and how long it took them To complete the replacement. That is the only information that my home warranty company needs to process my claim and reimburse me for the water heater, and Bob Larson Plumbing is refusing to comply. The manager has not called me after about a week, and it is so sad to see such good technicians under such shitty management. You would think that this would be an easy resolution and that they would just send me a detailed invoice with the information I need and then this problem would be solved. However, they refuse to comply. Do not expect them to work with your home warranty company for reimbursement and do not expect them to cooperate when it comes to getting an invoice. read more

These men were very nice and they came when they said they would be there. However, I called them for a running toilet. They wanted to charge me $400 to rebuild the inside of my toilet. I said, "That's too much." So they gave me the option of getting a new toilet myself at a plumbing supply place and they would charge $650 to install it. I'm a nurse and a single mom with a sick kid. I don't have time to run around. So I called my dad. He sent me YouTube videos. I fixed it myself in 2 mins with some WD40 and a screwdriver. I just wish we didn't have to be a Jack-of-all trades in todays world. Sigh. read more

Pros: Everyone we talked with and worked with was very nice and professional. We had a very leaky water heater out of the blue and they rearranged things to get to us the same day to swap out the water heater. There was no mention of emergency service fees and nothing on the invoice. The tech Dennis did a fine job getting things back in working order. Cons: It so happened that my Daughter and her Husband were looking to replace their water heater the same week. I had been helping her with bids a couple days prior to our leak showing up so I had heard some prices from other plumbers. When we called Bobs we were told more than once by different people that the basic like for like swap for a 50 gallon gas water heater was $2190.98 plus tax. They also said any code upgrades or special work would be extra. Fair enough. Since mine was leaking badly I had Bobs out first. After seeing what I had Dennis gave me a bid of $3285.83 plus tax. Understand my water heater was replaced in 2009 with and expansion tank and in the garage for very easy access. It also had all wrench off fittings. I take responsibility for not questioning the price more but I had heard similar numbers from other plumbers. A few days later my daughter had her 1996 version gas water heater replaced. 50 gal. gas exact same model and she got the $2190.98 bid from her tech. She had no expansion tank and needed copper pipe soldered together for her relief valve drain. Obviously that raised some questions. A couple days after calling I received a call from Robert. He told me that my daughters tech was working off an old price list. I asked why everyone we spoke with in the office had the same price list and he said he had not updated them as well. So it comes to this, either Robert was lying to me and I got a bad deal and he won't fix it or he really did forget to update his office staff and some techs of the new prices. Only he knows what is true. So if you are quoted the $2190.98 price going forward then we all know the answer. read more

We had Wayne from Bob Larson Plumbing come install a missing ice maker line last year and were so happy with his service that we had him back today to install a gas line for our new range. Fantastic, friendly service, absolutely reasonably priced considering the difficulty of the job. The piping install behind the stove area is clean and tidy and the guys picked up after themselves and were very pleasant to deal with, worked quickly and had a sense of humor. Handshakes all around. We paid Bob to come out and set up our new gas combi boiler after we installed this new heating system ourselves. He has the same system in his house so we were grateful for his knowledge and advice. We called once after the initial setup with a question and never received a call back. Since then I called with a thermostat question (which ones to use with this system) and if they set them up. I also never received a call back. Unfortunately you can't just have good service in the field to get 5 stars. I'd expect better customer service. Now I need to find another plumber. read more

The only reason this is 3 Stars and not 5 is that the estimate was way off. The owner came to my house and looked at the job (installing a tankless water heater - replacing a traditional) and spent about 10 minutes looking it over and said the install would be $1140 plus tax. No other prices discussed nor did i receive any written estimate. I was contacted about 5 minutes after he left by their scheduler and I set it up. In the days leading up to the install I did more research regarding tankless water heaters and large BTU specs. I found that the model I purchased should have its own combustion air pipe leading outside to draw the air. During my initial estimate discussion I was told that I didn't need it and that the ambient air from my garage was acceptable. This isn't true. According to the International Mechanical Code and International Fuel Gas Code, my garage cubic feet, combined with the 200,000 BTU tankless water heater I bought, did not qualify for using the ambient air in my garage as combustion air. Not even close. On install day I mentioned this to the plumber. At first he thought it was okay but said that i might have faster soot buildup on the burner if i only used ambient air. I mentioned the codes I read about and the calculations they used and then he said that yes, I did indeed need the external pipe. The install cost went to just under $2000. I was charged over $300 more than the initial assessment of $1140, and then another $308 for the two pipes. I called the company to discuss the matter with the owner who came out and had to leave a message with their dispatcher. I've received no call back. The installing plumber was awesome. None of this was his doing. He did a fantastic job and I have zero complaints with his performance. My issue with all of this is the poor estimating of cost and job requirements. I DO recommend the company, even after all of this; just be sure to do your research regarding the task you want completed. read more

We called for a quote for our project of repiping an entire house and adding a bathroom. They were unable to come at the first appointment time we had schedule so they requested to come the next day, no problem. The plumbers that showed up had a difficult time finding our house (typical problem for our address). The main guy seemed very annoyed at this. When they arrived he entered the house and did not even introduce himself. I started showing him what we would like done and what the problems we needed fixed. The second gentleman that was with him was very nice, introduced himself and made polite conversation. About 10 min into the tour the main guy annoyedly says "so what are we doing here? What do you want us to do today?" They were supposed to just be giving us a quote which I tell him. When they finished he said the work we were looking to have done would fall into the range of $17k-$25k. I asked him to please give us a written quote so we could compare with other plumbers, he said he would get that to us in a few days. Not 5 minutes later while they were still parked in our driveway he emails a bid for $30k. We have since received bids for the same work from two other companies which bid the job around $10k. I will obviously be going with another company but even if the price had been competitive the attitude of the plumber was so atrocious that I wouldn't have chosen to go with Bob Larson plumbing regardless of price. Probably the worst scam I have ever encountered. Plumber shows up late, the job was to replace two nipples, and two shut offs on by kitchen sink. Counter top was off as new one arriving that afternoon. So the so called plumber had to bend over unscrew old copper nipple and screw on a new one and then screw on a new shut off handle, this was done to both the hot and cold valves. Took him 25 minutes at the most and they charged me $869.49 Parts cost for two nipples and two shut off valves was under $20.00....... I had to have it done and could not do it myself due some physical restraints......Talked to one of the owners and he could not understand my thoughts on outrageous costs!!!! I've hired Bob Larson a few times, Kevin is my plumber, they do excellent work, find whatever way they can to help bring the costs down for you, Kevin had worked on the house before I lived there so he helped me plan my work based on the plumbing history of the house too. When I had a weekend emergency and couldn't afford an after hours service call, he explained how I could manage it for the weekend without having to pay the after hours fees and walked me through it by phone. Only got two because the second time they came out to fix the leak caused by the first visit did the trick. Check further reviews regarding pricing, We charged over $100 to tighten a nut. Wall valve was leaking and plumber came out , tightened the nut to stop the leak and the bill itemized this at $102. Sink valve not working properly . Rather than replace, a Seat was replaced for a cost of $172 and its still not working correctly. It did spring a leak because the seat was not installed correctly and was reseated when we called back to resolve the next day. Overall the interaction with Mr Larson was civil, he did try to explain his computer billing system but still have not seen a breakdown of what we paid. He did try to up sell me a $650 replacement valve to help alleviate my concerns. The Plumber wasn't there for more than 20 minutes at a cost of $300 and one piece of rubber. Perfect opportunity to figure out the reasons for the leaks and help a business prevent further repairs with options to fix. Thats what I expect from a professional service. Didnt' get it. read more

Called to have them come to give me a bid. They set the appt and told me they'd call 20mins before the tech arrived. Then they called and said they needed me to call to confirm somone was going to be there. i call again to confirm. They call me again to let me know tech is going to be there soon. I call back to ask them to have the tech call me when he arrives so I can talk to him about what needs to be done. They said they'll have him reach out. I was at work and my Wife was at home but unavailable so it was up to me to chat with the tech. 10mins, 15mins, 20mins go by and still no call. I stop working and call them again. I get a dullard on the phone asking for all my info, they have my number and I gave them my name. All I need is a quick call to communicate what I need done. They said tech called but couldn't get through. I asked for his number and they wouldn't give it to me. Everyone else was able to call me except for the tech...Owner calls me and says that it's my problem that the tech can't get through to my phone. Apprarently the owner works a part time job with Verizon tech support and was able to see that it was my phone not allowing the plumber to get through to me. I found the situatiom laughable and this company will not be getting my business. First they overcommuncate and then nothing at all. There are plenty of plumbers out there, save yourself some time and frustration and contact someone who knows how to use a phone properly. read more

Wow, would not recommend this contractor to anybody based on the cost. They charged me $350 for 45 minutes worth of work to replace the in and out tubing on a hot water heater. When I asked how they came about the cost I was told it's not based on an hourly rate, it's based on the skill level required for the job. I'm fine paying a fair rate, but $300/hr is not a fair rate. I've had dishwasher not draining issues for 3 yrs, replaced a 2yr old dwasher after warranty stoped for not cleaning dishes, its been a struggle, 3 plumbers later and FINALLY a plumber got it right! My 4 mo dishwasher stoped working, at end of my rope, called Larson Plumbing,(even vented my Dwasher drain frustration to the lady answering the phone) Its got to be a draining or maybe a clogged pipe issue, couldnt deal anymore last resort The plumber showed on time and very polite, I was concerned he might not have the experience for this old house. He looked under my sink told me exactly what the problem was, FIXED IT, now for the GREAT ending. Dishwasher repair came out (remember it quit too) Words from a different person who didnt know what ive been thru, looked undersink said at "least thats is installed correctly" then I told him all my story for past 3 yrs, he said you won't have draining issues now, thats corrected now. Two guys came out to install a new bathroom faucet in my new vanity and to install a new, higher shower head (a new arm with the new shower head--basically a matter of screwing and unscrewing the old arm). They hemmed and hawed about attaching PVC to the older drain pipe (old house) and the water lines, which were both brand new. Then they tried to sell me on how hard it was going to be to change out the shower head arm. Their estimate was more than $700. I sent them on their way after paying only the 50$ charge to come out. I found a different plumber who did the job for $210. read more

We used Larson Plumbing as we had an issue with our toilet. He came out and looked at our toilet and didn't have the part with him. He said he had to get the part and come back. He returned and placed a small gasket on the toilet and it was fine. Then, came the bill. $500!!! Now, I have no problem paying people for work as I expect to be paid for mine. However, two trips to my home and a thirty minute installation of a $10 part and then a bill for $500! That is ridiculous. The worst part was that this was for my elderly parents who didn't pay attention to the charge and paid the bill without complaint. When I saw the bill, I questioned it and wanted to call Larson's on behalf of my parents. There was no negotiating with him and he was very unreasonable. I stopped attempting once I determined he was not rational. I then called other plumbing companies and inquired as to what they would have charged and I was told at most it would be one third of that price. I knew my parents were overcharged but being that I'm not in the business, I wanted a second opinion. It confirmed my suspicions that Larson's took advantage of the situation. Bottom line, Larson's did fix the toilet which is why I give them one star vs. zero stars. But, unless you like to pay absurd prices for simple repairs I'd call another plumber. read more

I have had Bob Larson's company to do and entire house repipe, replacing the galvanized pipes with pex, I have had them install a tankless hot water heater, I have had a recirculation pump installed, a booster pump installed and have spent a great deal of money having what I thought was a reputable and well respected company do all the work. I received what I felt was an overly high estimate on some additional work today and when question the cost I was informed it was due to permitting. When I question the technician Bob Larson sent to my home I was told they "don't always get permits" when they do a job. I was very alarmed to find this out and placed a call to the city permitting office and have found that over the past 2 years Bob Larson has done all the above mentioned work and collected a considerable amount of money from my family only to find out now none of the work was permitted. It is with deep gratitude that we share our re-pipe experience with Bob Larson Plumbing. Our home was built in 1963 and is a 2700 sf rambler with original pipes. We learned some repairs were performed haphazardly and certainly not to code and poor water pressure and frequent clogs were common problems. I don't exaggerate when I say that we have had no less than twelve plumbing companies do repairs or give estimates on our home over the 12 years we have lived here. Most took one look under our house at the narrow crawl space and wanted nothing further to do with us. We hired several plumbers only to have them fail to return calls or show up when promised. For all these reasons, we were so happy to find Bob Larson Plumbing. From the moment of first contact we got a friendly receptionist who assured us that we would have a plumber out for an estimate the very next day. Robert Johnson arrived on schedule and as promised and although it must have been a discouraging inspection of our plumbing situation Robert was very professional and offered us an immediate and very thorough estimate. Their price was very fair given the scope of work proposed and we were relieved to finally have a plan in place. Robert and his assistant explained what to expect during the process and they were true to their word. Throughout the process we were kept informed of the progress and Robert was relentless in assuring the job was done properly at every step. When it appeared we might need a water pump to improve pressure he came up with an alternative plan to save us money and it worked! I cannot say enough about this company and Robert Johnson in particular. So many times he has gone well above and beyond what one would expect from their plumber to ensure the job was completed to our full satisfaction. A comment regarding my updated review dated 8/17/2017 and an update on city business registration: 1. It is totally predictable to note that Mr. Larson has not responded to the updated review mentioned above. This is typical - he ignores the facts that have been presented - facts based on his own written statements & quotes. He is only interested in attacking anyone who questions him with intimidating statements and mischaracterizations. 2. Regarding city business registration, Mr. Larson states: that the requirement to register is a "technicality" and "if we checked on the status of business registrations ...we wouldn't have time to do the repairs". (a) he has no authority to ignore registration requirements for any city in which he chooses to conduct business. Is this how Mr. Larson demonstrates his self proclaimed "Honesty" and "Integrity" ?? (b) After the city of Federal Way discovered he had conducted business in their city without the required registration, he was again notified that an application for an Outside Contractor is required and "failure to do so could result in civil and criminal penalties up to $100 for each day during which the violation occurs". Even if Mr. Larson complied with these requirements, it was involuntary ..... as he was caught. Without the city of Federal Way contacting him, based on his written statements documented in Item 2 above, it is highly probable that he would have continued to ignore registration requirements. Bob Larson Plumbing came to our home on three different dates, 21 November, 28 November, and 5 December, to help with a plugged drain (sewer). They sent an unlicensed plumber each time but did not fix our issue and were paid in full after the first working visit. Please remember to ask if the people sent to assist you are licensed prior to allowing them to do work in your home. We would definitely not recommend this company. read more
