I leased my first two door Mini cooper from here two weeks ago. It was a great experience, test driving two different mini coopers and ending up with a car I absolutely love to drive. Anthony was very patient and knowledgable about the Mini and the inventory. I was able to drive away with my Mini the same day. A few things that I could have been happier with: my Mini was due for a service in October, but the car had not been checked prior to me driving it out. It had 6,000 miles on it and when I got it was due for both an engine check and a tire rotation. There's also a re-stocking fee when the lease is over that was not mentioned to us at the time of signing, so just make sure you ask about all fees and check that your car is up to date on service and ready to go. I do recommend Bob Smith Mini and I love my car. Went here for a service appointment a few days ago and was well taken care of. read more

I ordered a 2013 MINI Cooper Countryman S for my son, Sean, approximately six weeks ago at Bob Smith MINI with Kirsten Lobetta. I want to share how sincerely wonderful our experience was with her. A little background may be helpful. My 27 year old son, Sean, has some fairly significant learning disabilities and is very slow to trust and feel comfortable in new situations. He thoroughly enjoyed customizing his own car with Kirsten's help. Because of the online reviews we had read about Kirsten, we went in and asked specifically for her. After just one visit, my son told me that we really "trusts" her and that he would like to work with her to order his car. So after a couple of test drives, lots of questions and some very expertise guidance, we were able to finalize the options for Sean's 2013 Countryman S. So why did we order Sean's Countryman from Bob Smith MINI? Kirsten Lobetta... period, end of sentence! First impressions in any business are so very important. Not only is she insanely knowledgeable with respect to the product she is selling, she is NOT PUSHY and after working with her the first time, we left feeling that she valued our business and that she felt we were serious about purchasing a car. I know that the standard practice in this industry is to push the sales staff to get contact information and to encourage them to reach out multiple times to try to get a sale. Kirsten did not push us and I suspect that she does not pressure other customers based on the reviews I have read. This is a model that must work well, as she seems to be the busiest salesperson on the floor. In our specific situation, this philosophy was perfect and helped Sean feel comfortable from the very first handshake to the last hug. On a more personal note, she made Sean feel important. She looked at him and answered every single one of his questions, sometimes more than once. She covered each option with him carefully, making sure that he understood before moving on to the next option. I know this sale required so much more of her time, but the TLC she had for Sean meant so much to both of us. So many times, professionals do not take Sean seriously and brush him off. I went in for service on both my aux cord plug and my car chargers not working and he made sure to cover those under warranty and even noticed a little squeal in the motor that I missed, he put it on the list and my car was serviced quickly and runs way better than when I bought it in and I did not even know there was a problem! I've dealt with both Long Beach MINI and Studio City MINI and they both lack in customer service and friendliness. Bob Smith MINI is awesome to deal with - Josh at the service desk is cool and VERY helpful, in fact, one of the most helpful service people I've ever met who work for a huge dealership. While like any other BMW dealership the people here have to stick by company rules, policies, and guidelines - they do what they can to work and do what's best for you within those guidelines. Darlene at Bob Smith Mini is quite frankly one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of NOT meeting! Let me explain. I leased a Mini Clubman for my wife from Bob Smith. We've since moved to the Phoenix area and the three-year lease came due. Well, I went to a local dealer and they tried to tack on some inexplicable fees that added up to about 3K! Not to mention they tried to get us into a new Mini on the spot. And not surprisingly followed up quite incessantly! Well, we love the Clubman and after 3 years it had only 9200 miles on it. I called Bob Smith only to learn that my rep had moved on. Darlene answered and I must admit I have rarely talked to someone -- if ever -- who sounded so genuinely friendly and sincere. I immediately felt like we were friends! And I consider myself a strict judge of character. Darlene made some suggestions and offered to investigate further. As it turned out, she learned that I could simply call the Lease company and ask them directly to finance the Mini as the lease was just about over. I did exactly that and got a wonderful loan agreement with Mini!! And didn't have a 3K incidental fee on top of everything! I would have not known had it not been for Darlene!!! Thank you Darlene!!
