(That's 10 stars, but I'd give her 100 if I could.) I'm not exaggerating when I say Dr. Bruce literally changed .... and possibly saved ... my life. A while back, I was in a serious motorcycle accident that damaged my C-3 and C-4 vertebrae ... for those who don't know, that's a very delicate and risky area of the neck. I saw a handful of professionals after the accident, but no one made a difference. Some seemed nervous to even touch it. But then I found Dr. Bruce. From the first visit, I knew I was in the right hands ... healing hands. 5 stars isn't enough to describe Dr. Bruce, and massage therapists Gina, Laura, and all the others. Dr. Bruce isn't like any other chiropractor I've met. She takes her time with each patient, really figuring out the source of the problem in order to make the correct adjustments. Sometimes she spends 30 minutes working on me, then has me get up and move around, asking how I feel. If I'm not back to 100%, she will make more adjustments to get me back on track. If she's concerned about my progress, she will have me pop in the next day, just to see how she can make more improvements. I'm a 51-year-old, 6'1", 280 pound male. I am not sure what in the world I ever did to my back but I worked with it hurting for three days, then tried to take my weekend very casually hoping it would get better. No dice! By Sunday night I couldn't find a comfortable position to save my life. I think I got just a few hours of sleep. And by the time it was time for me to get out of bed and go to work I was almost in tears just at the thought of trying to get into my car. I am very fortunate in the respect that I have a shop owner that I consider a friend. And when I asked her for a referral she sent me to Dr. Bruce. I saw Dr. Bruce at 10 in the morning. And I went back for a follow up at 3 PM. I'm not going to lie and say I walked out healed, but I did walk out with a significant amount of relief the first time, which was enough to get me through the day to where I could get some heat and cold on my back as the doctor instructed. And then after the 3 PM appointment I was able to go home and get a very good nights sleep. And I will throw this out. The doc told me to do things, not take pills. That is a doctor. She wanted me better, not medicated. Once again I want to say this. I am not going to lie and say the doctor cured me 100% with a snap of her fingers. Back injuries are not like that. When you screw up your back it will take time to heal. Time, rest and a game plan. But Dr. Bruce was able to provide me with relief when I went for the first visit, which felt like a life saving difference at the time. Then things improved with the second, and I was fortunate enough that time ( a few days), common sense, and some good advice from my doctor got me through the rest of my ordeal. Dr. Bruce and her interns are amazing. I went in after seeing another chiropractor, a massage therapist, an acupuncturist, two shoulder surgeons and one neck surgeon. I was seriously contemplating surgery for a SLAP tear in my right shoulder. The surgeons were telling me that SLAP tears are usually asymptomatic but the pain was so bad I couldn't do any meaningful physical exercise for months. Dr. Bruce went at me with some soft tissue work and did a rib adjustment. After one day, the pain was significantly better. After 3 days it was nearly gone. I went to see Dr. Bruce with acute sciatica. I had tried many different things to help relieve the pain to no avail and wanted to find a way to get better. Dr. Bruce did a thorough analysis of what positioning and movement was causing me pain and in the process figure out what I was doing in my day to day life to have gotten to this point, and more importantly, what I can do to help myself get better. She went over my MRI with me which my Kaiser Dr. didn't even do. It helped me to understand what was happening in my particular case since with sciatica it's not really one size fits all.
