Took a Ford pick up in and they did a oil change and tire rotate. There's a skid plate underneath that they have messed up the only place it's ever been. CAME IN WITH 50,000 pre-approval with my bank, but they wouldn't lower price unless I use their lender(since they get a kickback). They seem nice but once ur in the door they try to add $2000+ in extra FEES (not even including a warranty). I'm leaving a review even though I didn't buy a car from here. I went in because I had an appointment to test drive a used Mazda CX-5, but upon arrival I was informed that it was sold just one hour before we got there. Derrick was the salesman who assisted us and he was beyond helpful and kind. Although the car I wanted was gone, he still went above and beyond to try and find something in our price range and spec requirements. Even though like I said we went somewhere else, it was simply due to finding something in my budget. With that said, if you have any need for a used car, DERRICK IS YOUR GUY! Not a good experience. Took my truck in to have Sync system checked out and traffic system faults showing on dash. This was causing other components (a/c, radio, windows) to stop working. After two weeks and $3800 the errors were corrected causing the false faults. However, nothing was done to stop the Sync system from having to be manually rebooted several times a week. When I picked up the truck I asked a the service department if the Sync system had been checked. No one could tell me and my service advisor was not there. They stated they would have him call me. He did not. I Emailed service advisor twice to see why this was not corrected and have not received a response. Have been a customer for some time and always pleased with the sales department. But I need to use another dealer for any future service needs. Communication seems to be a poor service attribute for this department. read more

So i was a potential customer, i had already outlined what i wanted and was ready to talk financing without even looking at the vehicle i was interested in. Instead i got a statement indicating he was going to charge me 15k more for the vehicle over MSRP. Before that though he said he had 4 on the lot. His excuse for the markup was we are low on stock. Been here a few different times and I'm always amazed by what I can find from the new and the Pre-owned side. But today I was over at the Pre-owned section and came across a sexy looking Cobra 500, and a lil red Ford pickup truck that really caught my attention. For anyone looking for something nice to collect here is a place to come check out. UPDATE 1/20/22: After communicating with the Service Drive Manager, it seems the miscommunication/mistake has been addressed on their end. The issue(s) were handled and should have never had happened to begin with. In an effort to make things right, my vehicle still needs a few additional items that need to be addressed and I will be taking it to Bob Tomes Ford, as they promised to make things right. While, I did have my alignment performed at a different Ford dealership, I was assured that moving forward there will be more transparency and accountability to ensure the customer's needs are well versed prior to any work being performed, during, or after bringing in your vehicle for service. I applaud the actions and diligence of the management of the service department at Bob Tomes Ford and would recommend them based on their willingness to provide excellent customer service. With the level of growth in Collin County, it is imperative that good customer service as well as good vehicle service be available to all, especially with some of the innovative vehicles Ford has released recently, such as the Mustang Mach-E, Bronco, Bronco Sport, and Maverick just to name a few. Ive taken my cars in for service 4 times now and I have horrible experiences every time. Customer service is just very poor. My previous visit, I went in for an oil change and some recalls. Quick Lane wrote up the oil change and then took me over to a service advisor that didn't seem to want to deal with my recalls. After checking for the parts, he tells me it will be 2 days. I replied back and said unfortunately, I don't have two days this week. He then handed me back my oil change paperwork and sent me back over to Quicklane. Now that my Quicklane advisor was helping another person, i'm waiting in line.. again (sadly, I wasn't offered a rental car or anything to get my recalls taken care of as it was going to take 2 days). Finally, Im told the oil change will take about 1 1/2 hours to complete (which I said is no problem). 3+ hours later, after finding someone to help me, my car is ready. No updates throughout the process or anything. In fact, I watched them put my car on the lift 2 1/2 hours after I got there. I have had bad service each time. At least they offered to take care of my next oil change.... (Id rather them fix the service and give a free oil change to someone that needs it). read more

I ordered a bronco and the bronco came in not as I ordered. I had problems after problems getting the bronco exactly as I ordered. When Bob Thomas Ford picked up my bronco to take it to add all the additional options I ordered, it came back with 7500.00 worth of damage to my paint. The Bronco did not have the damage when it left my possession. I thought the damage happened because they had to take on and off these plastic pieces on the doors several times, because they kept putting them on wrong. The plastic pieces were so crooked and misplaced that you couldn't even open the back door. When I asked about the damage they said it was rock chips. I said how did it get rock chips and the salesman said the bronco he owns gets rock chips and I was told they were having problems because of the design of the bronco and the factory tires.. other customers were complaining that the tires pick up rocks and throw them on the doors and that I needed to put mud flaps on and rock guards. This is a all factory Bronco..keep this in mind. I'm having to add more to my bronco just to drive it down a normal highway. If you go google Bronco and rock chips you will know what I'm talking about. I paid them to put the mud flaps and rock guards and then I asked them to fix the paint. They have refused to fix the paint and told me to call ford and complain to them to see if I could get them to cover the damage. I talked to a ford rep with the manager of the dealership ship on the phone (Chase Prather) and he said that my warranty will cover it...then within 5 minutes the ford rep said he was wrong they won't cover it if it's rock chips. To make along story short everyone is clueless when it comes to customer service. People are definitely not honest and very unprofessional. No one at this dealership is taking responsibility of fixing 7500.00 worth of damage that was done to my vehicle while it was in Bob Thomas Fords possession. I wouldn't recommend buying a vehicle here or using the service department for repairs. Chase Prater and Greg Blessing was who I have dealt with and now I have a bronco with 7500.00 worth of damage that no one is helping me with. Again the damaged happened in their possession. The people at this dealership has not been honest or forthright in the sale of this Bronco or in any other part of handling the service of it either. Very disappointed! Had appointment scheduled for a recall on my Ford Edge. Took it in on scheduled date. Five hours later they called and said they ran out of parts to do the job. The incompetence of the parts dept is beyond description. This should never happen. I did buy my SUV at this dealership and this is how I am treated. I took my husband's Ford F-150 in due to engine splash shield coming undone. I called a day prior to set an appointment and Nick, the customer service associates, fit me in. He went over in detail the possibilities of how to fix it. I decided to have it replaced. The process did take a while but as mentioned before he did fit me in so I was happy about that. Nick was absolutely wonderful and updated me through the process. The only part of the service that bothered me was that the technicians pulled the truck in at 9:37am and pulled the truck out once complete at 9:46am. I was charged about $112 for labor and they charge per hour. So with parts and taxes included it was about $280. 9 minutes of work and I had been there since 7:55am. read more

I just needed a battery replacement that was purchased here two years ago and one terminal post was loose and corroded the cable. The battery was under warranty that costs over $200 but the cable was now costing me $300 with labor and tax. They chose the battery 2 years ago and in my opinion it failed causing the other damage. Not only that it took 2.5 hours to repair the cable and replace the battery. Crazy long. I do want to add that Khuong was very courteous and helpful but I feel his coworkers could have helped keep him updated in a timely fashion instead of me having to ask several times what was happening with my car. I don't feel like there was any sense of urgency to get this done. I also feel like the company should have taken care of the corroded cable and gotten a reimbursement from their battery supplier for any damage the under warranty battery caused. The service manager contacted me and took care of this. I do appreciate that type of service. Again, as I stated to the service manager I do not hold anything against Khuong who seemed to try his best to communicate what my car needed. After considering how quickly they resolved this matter I had to change my review to 5 stars. read more

I have been a Bob Tomes customer since 2009, both as a car buyer and a patron of the service department. I was always happy with the way I was treated but customer service has gone drastically downhill since the pandemic. I made an appointment for Friday, August 18, to have my oil changed and to replace a faulty headlight. I arrived early for my 7 am appointment and was greeted by one of their service technicians at 7:03 am. I turned in my car for an oil change and asked about fixing the headlight. At which point the technician impounded my car for at least 10 days pending a diagnostic test, with no promise of when I might get it back once the diagnostic had been run. I was offered no loaner car and no rental car. So far I have been without my car for four days and am looking at spending at least $1,000 to pay for the oil change, the diagnostic test, and the car I had to rent from a third party for the 10 days they will apparently be keeping my car. FOR A BUSTED HEADLIGHT!!!!!! $1,000 FOR A BUSTED HEADLIGHT!!! Then today they sent me a robo-email scolding me for "missing my appointment." How dare they scold me for not keeping the appointment I kept, when they're holding my car hostage? They need to get their act together and start offering the kind of good customer service they used to provide, pre-pandemic. read more

Mr. "I'm the best salesman you'll ever meet I'll take care of you no matter what" (literally said that over the phone) but I need a car and I wanted a bronco. Well I got one I've had so many issues in just 13k miles I'm about to sell this piece of sh*t and never buy a Ford again. Funny enough I went to get the tires rotated at about 9k miles and the said the tread didn't match the mileage so I'm pretty sure my car had used tires. I wish there was an option for zero stars, $8,000 later after we were told multiple times that everything would be fixed I get my car back with just "there's nothing else we can do" unless I'm willing to pay another $8,000 and now after spending all that money it's not a guarantee fix anymore but somehow it was two months ago. Call back happens 50% of the time but never within a few hours. It's basically just a bait and switch deal. They added stuff to the car that wasn't included in the sale price. $2484.00 worth of add-ons that they slyly tell you after you think you've made a deal. I didn't ask for those things, so I shouldn't have to pay for them! They put them on there expecting to slide them by the purchaser. The price I wanted to pay was the price it was advertised for. J.W. wasn't kidding when he said we spent all day there, either. When I went to Alabama to get my Veloster, the price they quoted was what I paid. And on top of that, the small dealership that got me the car, took me and my best friend out for a wonderful steak dinner that evening after my purchase. I hate having to haggle on something that I'm expecting to pay a certain amount for. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. These guys lie and try to get you in their door to get you into buying their false representation. I spoke to a guy named Micheal at Bob Tomes, and he said all the numbers were OK and good to go. The moment I got there, he handed me to another guy who wanted to pay 2k less for my trade and not even credit me for the tax for the trade invehicle. Buyers should be aware that these people will cheat in every way possible. He also forced me to take out a loan I did not need, and he said this deal could only happen with a loan. I finally gave up, asked for my car keys, and went home. Later that night, the sales director Blake called. The dealership's director, Blake, called, and one of his words was that we have been here for 43 years and do not care what the Ford factory has to say to us. We have the money to buy the cars, and they can not tell us about customer service, it does not mean anything. I am shocked by his demeanor after all of the misrepresentations. Be prepared, Walk out if necessary Test drove a new Maverick on Saturday, returned Tuesday for the review of my F150 Trade-In. On Tuesday (not Saturday) I was informed that there was a $ 2,484 mark up for Dealer extras, and the Trade-In offer was below KBB. I asked Tanner if I could mark up their quote, he replied yes. Crossed off Dealer Extra's (have my own insurance, etc.) crossed off the Trade-In and wrote in the amount I was willing to accept. I had brought my research binder (3 hold punched with clear cover) and set it on the desk listing similar Maverick's available at AutoNation, Prosper Ford, Sam Pack, etc. Once the Trade-In review is done I make sure my keys are returned and prefer to stand as soon as the deal seems that it is not going to be done. Manager came in and offered a lower package (XLT vs Lariat), ie; with the lower Trade-in value but my out of pocket would be what I was willing to pay. I commented that I was not willing to negotiate on the Trade-In value (not before meeting with the other Dealerships) and that I had a scheduled business 'Teams' meeting and I walked out. 45 minutes later Tanner Felton texted me that my Trade-In was increased to within $100 of my asking price and the Dealer 'extras' had been removed. I returned and purchased the 2024 Maverick Lariat. Should buying a new vehicle be this way ?, probably not. But I will give the Dealership 3 Stars and I did give Tanner Felton 5 Stars for his extraordinary effort. read more

Let me start with the fact that my husband and I have driven Ford vehicles since 1983 ... regarding reliability and dependability the rating should be a 4 star... Last week I went into the local dealership in McKinney TX BOB TOMES ... set up an appointment to have my vehicle fixed from a recall defect in the door panels... both the drivers side and the passengers side were defective... I purchased the vehicle with maybe 1000 miles? Not sure exactly... apparently there was a recall around 2016- or 2017? Regarding this defect.... The ford motor company claims they sent out a vehicle defect recall ... However I never received it? Not sure why... but was living at the same address and registered with the DMV at that same address from 1996 through 2021. I asked the dealership if there was anyway they could help me figure out why I never received the recall notification... they are claiming... according to your customer service representative... that the recall notifications were sent out by the DMV? Irregardless... I'm very disappointed that Ford does not stand behind their product and recall defects I guess for my next vehicle I will explore other vehicle manufacturers... there are many to choose from... very Disappointed in Ford Company read more

Scammy scammy scammy. First off, their new cars have anywhere from 3,000-5,000 miles on them but are still at brand new car prices so be prepared for that. I went in to look at some new F-150's and test drove one for awhile and it did a weird shaking when in park so I didn't feel great about it but I still sat down to talk about price. To qualify for the promotional 0% APR you forfeit the cash back promotional price so it ended up being considerably more than I wanted to pay and I told them we weren't going to be able meet in the middle and I'm good, I don't want to buy at this time. The sales rep (Kellie) has her manager come in and offer me the same exact offer the sales rep did. I said no thank you and he said come on just do it, what's wrong? I said the price, he said just lease it then, I said no and left. 30 May rolls around and Kellie calls me to say it's the end of the month and they're willing to make a better offer, what would it take to make it happen? I told her my number that I wanted the 0% financing and 2k off the last offered price. She said she had a new 2019 and would give me 3k more for my trade in and 0% and sell it for what it was listed on the website ($41,280). I said okay that sounds great let me see the quote with the breakdown of price. She says come in and she'll explain it to me. I said what's their to explain? she tells me 84 month loan at 0% apr and monthly payment of $552.94. I told her that's = $46,446 what's the price of the truck. She said come in and I'll explain. I said it's the weekend I'm hanging out with my family and I'm not wasting my time if the deal isn't what she told me. She said well the truck can't be sold to you for 41k like advertised and it's actually 44k if I take 3k more for my trade in. I said no way, if you want to make it happen I need 0% at the 41k advertised price plus the trade in value they already told me I would get. She said they can't do that and said they could do a different truck for the same price they offered last time I came in. I said?? You called me today trying to say it was the end of the month and you wanted to make a deal and then tried to trick me into coming after telling me a price?? This place has gotten so bad I am done after the last experience. Been with them for 9 yrs. First if you have an oil change and tire rotation mark a tire I caught them a few times paying for a rotation and it not done. Fact!. The first major issue was I had a truck in for oil/rotation The following day as I was driving to work my truck started to shimmy real bad. got to work and found that I only had two lugs left on the wheel. I told my salesman and he stated it was a service issue. Well service did not want to fix it as many times I was told to talk to sales and sales said to talk to service Well a year late and me complaining to management it was finally repaired. The service manager was not happy with me as I went to a general manager to complain. Well it still does not work great but better than it was. So problem not fixed. So the service guy I was using "Buddy" i reached out to him about an issue with my sons car and need work done. We knew it was a big job and I asked if we could narrow a time line down. I did not hear from him so I reached out and asked him if he had an answer for me or should I go somewhere else as we need the work done quick.... Well the response I received from Buddy was an email in all caps. OK BRIAN I DON'T WANT TO GO DOWN THIS ROAD OF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PROBLME AND IM TRYING TO HELP. YOU SENT A INVOICE WITH LITERALLY CRAP FOR INFORMATION AND IT WAS AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN I TRYING TO GET CUSTOMERS OUT. THE MORNING ARE ALSO A RUSH. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT TAKES TIME THEN COME DO THIS WITH ME EVERYDAY. IF WE ARE GONNA START OUT ON A BAD FOOT AGAIN THEN I JUST ASSUME TO HAVE SOME ONE ELSE TAKE CARE OF IT. Last Thursday I stopped in to get an oil change without an appointment. I was prepared to wait but as he has done many times before Hunter came through. I was able to get a Works package completed in a decent time and they even allowed me to use a space for a conference call I had forgotten about. I love that Hunter is my advisor because he always explains things thoroughly and let's me know what's urgent and needs to be fixed immediately or what's coming down the pipline. And although Casey (my previous advisor) is in a different position he always takes a few minutes to stop and ask how things are going and if I need anything...
