This review is for the service department as it was the only department I have dealt with. Austin was a super great service manager. My truck came in for some minor checkup. He fixed what I knew, found 5 recalls I was unaware of, found a new issue I was unaware with the transmission. By him finding those thing he saved me time and money, car was still under warranty barely. He kept in consistent contact because I told him I was nervous about getting the truck back before my family vacation. By knowing exactly what was going on and that we were getting our family truck safely Austin kept our vacation plans on track. Tldr Austin awesome. I needed new tires for my Ram 2500, so I called around a few places and ended up going with Bob Tomes. They have a massive footprint with service, I was blown away. I was helped out by Rex and Mr. Hasik, the service director himself which was awesome. Extremely polite and professional, I've never been called sir more times in my life. They took fantastic care of my truck and everything was waaay quicker than if I'd had gone to discount tire or somewhere else. In addition to the $19.95, there was a shop fee of $8.46, which is over 40% of the cost of the oil change. I was also charged $4.03 in sales tax. That amount of tax equates to a purchase of $48.84. Not $19.95, and not $19.95 plus the shop fee. I find it hard to believe a dealership that size doesn't know how to calculate sales tax. read more

Salesman was very slow to get any information for me or take my information (resulted in car being sold out from under me the night before I was to pick it up) had a verbal agreement to sign and pick up the vehicle at noon the next day. When I went to pick up the car the ladies working at the counters were completely ignoring all of us in line and just chatting with themselves and there was a friendly mechanic eating his lunch who ended up asked if we needed help while he was eating his lunch and finally these unfriendly ladies decided to wait on us. Mikey was very helpful getting my super duty back on the road. The misfire on my truck was diagnosed correctly and fixed with care.

I've been getting tons of letters, calls and emails from Ford advising me to get my Mustang in for airbag replacement. Both the driver and passenger bags need to be replaced. They have annoyed me enough that I finally got it done. I made an appointment and everything was smooth from start to finish. They have a courtesy ride for pickup and drop offs! I had to use both since I do not like be indebted to anyone for doing me a favor. It took about 8 hours to do what ever they do with airbags. My consultant Ivan called and made arrangements for a driver to pick me up. Honestly, this could not have gone any smoother. I did have errands to run. A rental care would have been helpful for the inconvenience. However, making sure I had a ride is pretty important too. Went to the body shop and had a dent popped and they cracked the paint. I knew they would as it was on a crease so I took it to another place first and they were honest and said it would be a problem. I thought I would see what these liars had to say. They assured me they would be successful. Well the paint is cracked and the trained liar said it was cracked before I brought it in. I told him it wasn't and I have photos before. You will notice from other posts that the BT guy is the head liar and uses the same answer for all complaints. Needs his mouth washed out with soap. As he lied about my other complaint as well. We have a bumper to bumper warranty on our vehicle (bought brand new) and the service center is refusing to do a repair that should be covered under the warranty. They tried to say that it was not their problem because there was previous work done to the vehicle therefore voids the warranty. The collision center that did the work explained to both us and Ford that the work they did was nowhere near where our current problem is and provided photos of the work they did to prove that point. The service center is still refusing to do this work under the bumper to bumper warranty. Would never recommend taking your vehicle to this service center. read more

Their sales process was scary for me. I had test driven a car that I probably would have purchased this week if they had been a little more put together and not so high pressure in their approach. Never been argued with over my request to do a comparison with the other model I was considering. Never been pursued into the parking lot to come back to continue this process. Won't be pressured to spend money. I bought down the street. It has been my experience that the sales process is a good indicator of how service will be and I wasn't willing to take the chance dealing with service issues would be as stressful. Too bad. Buyers Beware!!! Bad business practices!! Dealership sales team was dishonest and very unethical in their sales practices. After agreeing and signing to a purchase price, the sales guy tried to add in extended warranty and gap coverage telling me I had to take it or leave it. I already had these items through my 3rd party finance company; a credit union. They knew that and tried to threaten me with loss of the sale. Now once we got through all of that, the Blue Advantage Certified Pre-Owned truck had nothing but problems that were purposely hidden. We experienced this when the sales/service team had reset codes off the truck when we test drove the vehicle. When we picked it up after sale closing, both batteries were bad due to a mass electrical issue. They tried to charge me for 2 batteries and I had never even driven it home! Ford had my truck over a month and tried to file it under manufacturer's warranty and tried to charge me for non covered parts. I didn't even get to drive the truck for 24 hours after purchasing it! Issues are still not fixed and I'm left to deal with it!! The after market team then placed a level kit on the truck but did half of the work. The tires rubbed so bad that you could not make a full turn onto a side street without the vehicle dragging on the tires. I had to fight with them to replace the pitman arms so that it would not drag; I paid for that too. This is something as a professional performing this service should have quoted the first time. This has been a nightmare and I will never recommend this dealership. We tried to give them another chance after previous issues before. It's a shame for a business to treat hard working people in this manner during a tough economic time as it is! Honestly, Channel 5 news needs to check into this!!! BUYER BEWARE at Tomes Ford...I honestly believe this is the worst experience I have had in 45 years of buying cars. Ja'Shawn, who started with us was, in a word, FANTASTIC. Once upper levels got involved..., in a word? Liar. We RV, so we tow a lot. We were told there was an "$8000, top of the line airbag system" for towing. That was the deciding factor for us. However, I had some truck guys look at it after we got it home and it looks like it is a $200 system from Amazon? That was not even installed correctly? When I am accused of lying, I lose my mind trying to correct it. Evidently, Mike does not share the same concern that I do. It only took three phone calls before I got a call back from Mike, and all he said was they are trying to get back in touch with the original owner to see what it was? I then followed up with a manager, Daniel, who also did not share my concern about lying. He simply said that he tells his guys not to lie? It has been WELL over a month since we were lied to about the used vehicle and I have not heard anything back? And, evidently lying does not matter enough to Tomes Ford to ever follow up? Sadly, because we had been looking forward to working with Ja'Shawn Thomas on our next vehicle, we will NEVER go back to Tomes Ford and I will discourage anyone from going to Tomes Ford. Simply because lying does not seem to bother them. So, who really knows what they are getting from them? I mean, honestly, what else is different with the truck I bought? They advised again best they could do was give me a discount on the key fob. I let them know I'm still not paying close to $200 for a replacement for a key I already have. CAME IN WITH 50,000 pre-approval with my bank, but they wouldn't lower price unless I use their lender(since they get a kickback). They seem nice but once ur in the door they try to add $2000+ in extra FEES (not even including a warranty). I went in because I had an appointment to test drive a used Mazda CX-5, but upon arrival I was informed that it was sold just one hour before we got there. Derrick was the salesman who assisted us and he was beyond helpful and kind. Although the car I wanted was gone, he still went above and beyond to try and find something in our price range and spec requirements. Not a good experience. Took my truck in to have Sync system checked out and traffic system faults showing on dash. This was causing other components (a/c, radio, windows) to stop working. After two weeks and $3800 the errors were corrected causing the false faults. However, nothing was done to stop the Sync system from having to be manually rebooted several times a week. When I picked up the truck I asked a the service department if the Sync system had been checked. No one could tell me and my service advisor was not there. They stated they would have him call me. He did not. I Emailed service advisor twice to see why this was not corrected and have not received a response. Have been a customer for some time and always pleased with the sales department. But I need to use another dealer for any future service needs. Communication seems to be a poor service attribute for this department. read more

UPDATE 1/20/22: After communicating with the Service Drive Manager, it seems the miscommunication/mistake has been addressed on their end. The issue(s) were handled and should have never had happened to begin with. In an effort to make things right, my vehicle still needs a few additional items that need to be addressed and I will be taking it to Bob Tomes Ford, as they promised to make things right. While, I did have my alignment performed at a different Ford dealership, I was assured that moving forward there will be more transparency and accountability to ensure the customer's needs are well versed prior to any work being performed, during, or after bringing in your vehicle for service. I applaud the actions and diligence of the management of the service department at Bob Tomes Ford and would recommend them based on their willingness to provide excellent customer service. With the level of growth in Collin County, it is imperative that good customer service as well as good vehicle service be available to all, especially with some of the innovative vehicles Ford has released recently, such as the Mustang Mach-E, Bronco, Bronco Sport, and Maverick just to name a few. I ordered a bronco and the bronco came in not as I ordered. I had problems after problems getting the bronco exactly as I ordered. When Bob Thomas Ford picked up my bronco to take it to add all the additional options I ordered, it came back with 7500.00 worth of damage to my paint. The Bronco did not have the damage when it left my possession. I thought the damage happened because they had to take on and off these plastic pieces on the doors several times, because they kept putting them on wrong. The plastic pieces were so crooked and misplaced that you couldn't even open the back door. When I asked about the damage they said it was rock chips. I said how did it get rock chips and the salesman said the bronco he owns gets rock chips and I was told they were having problems because of the design of the bronco and the factory tires.. other customers were complaining that the tires pick up rocks and throw them on the doors and that I needed to put mud flaps on and rock guards. This is a all factory Bronco..keep this in mind. I'm having to add more to my bronco just to drive it down a normal highway. If you go google Bronco and rock chips you will know what I'm talking about. I paid them to put the mud flaps and rock guards and then I asked them to fix the paint. They have refused to fix the paint and told me to call ford and complain to them to see if I could get them to cover the damage. I talked to a ford rep with the manager of the dealership ship on the phone (Chase Prather) and he said that my warranty will cover it...then within 5 minutes the ford rep said he was wrong they won't cover it if it's rock chips. To make along story short everyone is clueless when it comes to customer service. People are definitely not honest and very unprofessional. No one at this dealership is taking responsibility of fixing 7500.00 worth of damage that was done to my vehicle while it was in Bob Thomas Fords possession. I wouldn't recommend buying a vehicle here or using the service department for repairs. Chase Prater and Greg Blessing was who I have dealt with and now I have a bronco with 7500.00 worth of damage that no one is helping me with. Again the damaged happened in their possession. The people at this dealership has not been honest or forthright in the sale of this Bronco or in any other part of handling the service of it either. Very disappointed! Ive taken my cars in for service 4 times now and I have horrible experiences every time. Customer service is just very poor. My previous visit, I went in for an oil change and some recalls. Quick Lane wrote up the oil change and then took me over to a service advisor that didn't seem to want to deal with my recalls. After checking for the parts, he tells me it will be 2 days. I replied back and said unfortunately, I don't have two days this week. He then handed me back my oil change paperwork and sent me back over to Quicklane. Now that my Quicklane advisor was helping another person, i'm waiting in line.. again (sadly, I wasn't offered a rental car or anything to get my recalls taken care of as it was going to take 2 days). Finally, Im told the oil change will take about 1 1/2 hours to complete (which I said is no problem). 3+ hours later, after finding someone to help me, my car is ready. No updates throughout the process or anything. In fact, I watched them put my car on the lift 2 1/2 hours after I got there. I have had bad service each time. At least they offered to take care of my next oil change.... (Id rather them fix the service and give a free oil change to someone that needs it). read more

The incompetence of the parts dept is beyond description. This should never happen. I did buy my SUV at this dealership and this is how I am treated.
