This boba spot was very meh. We ordered the Hong Kong milk tea with grass jelly and matcha latte. The Hong Kong milk tea, even at 50% sweet, was sickeningly sweet without much tea flavor and just a strong taste of the condensed milk. The matcha latte was a murky greenish brown color, and was extremely chalky as if the matcha hadn't been dissolved properly. The drinks weren't good and we couldn't finish them. We won't be back any time soon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple and clean interior with free wifi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This looks like it could be a good spot to potentially work from or meet a friend since it has a lot of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was simply two people running it while we were there - one at the cashier and one person in the back making drinks. We wanted to ask for a drink tray since we ordered 3 drinks but the cashier person had quickly already gone to the back right after handing us the drinks...
The drinks were so bad that we almost wanted to "return" them to the counter. Brown sugar milk - the boba was so hard to chew, it's either not fresh or undercooked. Mongo milk has artificial mango flavor, taste awful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some board games but mostly missing pieces or too old too dirty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It was perfectly sweet enough for me and so refreshing. Will visit again.
I decided to come by to use a $5 off code I was sent for my birthday- if you sign up for their rewards alerts with their Square site and provide your birthday, you might be able to get promos like this too. I ordered ahead on the website for a hojicha, cold, with regular milk, 25% sugar, no ice, and a bee-long, cold, less ice, 50% sweet. Generally, it costs an additional $1 to get the drink as cold/chilled rather than hot. The drinks are a decent size, but they are rather pricey (around $6-7 for most of the drinks, cold version). The order confirmation said I would get texted updates, but I did not receive any texts, so I just came after the requested pickup time and the order was ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the store, there's AC, free wifi, ample seating, and a single stall restroom in decently clean condition.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt the hojicha was quite good, I'm glad I dialed down the sweetness since that allows you to really taste the nutty flavor of the hojicha. As for the beelong, I found it underwhelming; I could taste the honey strongly, but since oolong itself tends to be a milder tea, I felt the honey and milk really overpowered the oolong. I wish the oolong had been brewed to be extra strong so that it would be easier to taste it, or that they had offered a version of this drink that uses a stronger-tasting tea.
Are there a million boba places around the Bay? Yes. Does Boba Drive stand out? Absolutely! Boba Drive is one of my favorite spots, and I'm surprised I haven't written a review until now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The customer service, ambiance, quality of tea, and boba are all top-notch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I could go on and on about this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]With plenty of seating, it's a great place to catch up with loved ones while enjoying the board games they offer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
My husband, daughter, & I went to this location for the first time and it didn't disappoint. We ordered 3 drinks and got several Boba Drive stickers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was clean and very cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't get to catch the girl at the front counter name. But she was very welcoming and took care of our order quickly. It wasn't very busy since it was later in the evening so we got our drinks pretty fast. Can't wait to come back again another time.
I came here again since I was in the area and it wasn't what I remembered it to be. I got the jasmine milk tea with agar boba, 50% sweetness but oh boy was that thing sweet. It felt like 100% sweetness for all of my groups drinks and it was very inedible if you didn't have a bitter drink to begin with. The workers were very nice though and remade my drink to 25% which was still pretty sweet in my opinion but a lot better. Really liked the hospitality of the workers for making things right but I honestly don't know if I'll be back again bc of how sweet the drinks were.

The standards for boba stores have soared because there are so many of them out there. Unless you differentiate, I think then you're kind of stuck being mediocre and irrelevant n the boba game. My writing may be skewed as I've been to way too many boba shops before Boba Drive, so please keep the that in mind. The menu for Boba Drive seems unique enough. But upon closer review, it really just feels like the combination of these drink options you could find at other boba locations. I guess what I'm trying to say is that other than the the Hong Kong MT, Bee-Long, and Watermelon Oat, the drinks menu becomes a repeat of what you see elsewhere--which isn't a bad thing! But nothing is differentiating Boba Drive from the dozens of other boba shops scattered about the Bay Area. My wife ordered the Hoji, it was okay. At 100% sweetness, it was too sweet and that sweetness over powered any taste or flavor of black sesame. I mean, the black sesame was there, but it was just too sweet. I got the Lychee Refresher with 0 sweet. I knew it would have some residual sweetness from the syrup and fruit, but it was very sweet where I felt like it was closer to 50% sweet. The lychee flavor was there, but it felt like an artificially sweet lychee flavor. I asked about their mochi donuts and muffins and they don't sell them anymore. They haven't for about a year. I actually visited Boba Drive on the presumption that they still did (via pictures from Yelp). That was a big disappointing. The service was nice and pleasant--quick. And the layout of the store was very open and airy.
I give this place a 3.5 but I usually round up so it gets a four rating. The place is usually quiet when I go in. It is located in the same area of Peggy Sue's, Grocery Outlet, and few more places. I was craving an ice drink and this was just okay. I asked for extra ice and didn't really get it. I wanted an ice cold drink. I asked the cashier what they would recommend and they mentioned the matcha latte with oat milk if I liked matcha and oat milk which I like both. It wasn't a wow factor for me or something I would consider ordering again. It was definitely different.

I usually only go here once a year as they give out a $5 off coupon on your birthday. So it was time to use the coupon. In short, one of the rare spots that truly has a variety of teas that is properly steeped with a good variety of milk options and toppings. I N S I D E [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of open seating, clean, and they do have a restroom if you want to work and chill or even just meet up with a friend or two.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] M E N U I feel like the menu has changed just a bit but I do appreciate that they do have a variety of teas that I don't see at other boba shops. Specifically, genmaicha, hojicha and boricha (barley). Create your own drinks start at $6.25, so plus topping, one drink can cost $7. I still can't believe we're in the $7 now with boba drinks but kind of not surprised. Gone are the days of $2 boba. I love that they now have lactose free creamer as an option for their milk tea. Otherwise you have to default to milk or pay more for Strauss milk or milk alternatives. Toppings are still $0.75 which is pretty comparable to other spots. I do appreciate that they have mango pudding. Now if they had lychee jello (not jelly), this would be amazing. S E R V I C E Very friendly and courteous! Drinks came out pretty quickly as there wasn't really any other person ordering but myself. So it went pretty fast. O V E R A L L Boba Drive has grown on me. I had Boba Drive in my bookmarks for a while and finally had a chance to stop by when I was in the area picking up food. It was empty early Saturday afternoon and I was promptly greeted by very friendly boba baristas. They had a good selection of drinks to choose from and I ended up picking the strawberry green tea yakult and the Hong Kong milk tea with condensed milk (lightly sweetened), both with boba. My order was ready within a minute after I finished paying for the order. I will say the strawberry green tea yakult was delicious and super refreshing. However, the Hong Kong milk tea tasted pretty watery and wasn't creamy at all. By the time I finished 2/3 of the drink, I was over it. I should've picked their strawberry matcha, so I will be back next time and try something else. read more
I expected to really like this boba shop, but I could barely finish my drink and even began to feel sick. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk, one of the most recommended drinks in recent reviews. At first sip I got a good gulp of the chalky matcha sediments and strawberry goop. The strawberry was more sour than sweet and way too overpowering. Mixed with the gritty texture of matcha, it was an unpleasant combination. My friend got the same drink but with almond milk and we both had the similar results. I took a few more sips to try to convince myself that the taste would "grow" on me, but it didn't. The sourness and grittiness was so distracting that the matcha flavor was unrecognized. I really hope this was just a bad batch of ingredients but I don't think quality should be compromised. Staff is friendly, the space has a nice aesthetic, and I like the collection of board games. read more

Cute boba spot not far from the Fair Oaks lightrail station. Can be found in the same plaza as Grocery Outlet and F45 Training gym. There's typically multiple parking spots; there has only been one time when I dropped by with the lot being pretty full and had to circle around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love that there's multiple wall plugs! It can be a great work/study spot if noise from neighboring groups of people talking isn't an issue for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]With that said, it also makes a cool place to meet up with your friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whenever I come here, my go-to is the Black Sesame Hoji because I love the mixture of bitter and sweet flavors. They don't skimp on the black sesame either, which keeps me coming back for more. They also have other tea flavors that you'd typically find at boba shops. 5 STARS in terms of ambiance and a place to study and get work done. 1 STAR for the drink (Lavender Rose) I bought :( Plenty of tables, super clean, well lit, ton of parking, super amazing place to come and get work done or grab a drink and talk to friends. I got the Lavender Rose ($5.75) and I was so disappointed :( First of all, they dont let you do "no ice" for any of the drinks. I did "less ice" and it looked like 33% of my cup was ice. I'm guessing regular ice is like 50% of the cup then. Not the biggest fan of ice in my drink since it waters it down and I'm paying for the drink, not the ice. Second, the color was nothing like the menu picture, for a second I actually thought they got my drink wrong. Its honey sweetened lemonade infused with lavender and rose, but I didnt taste even a hint of lavender or rose. Nothing floral at all. It was honestly like I paid $6 for a cup of pink lemonade that I could get a whole liter for cheaper at the grocery store. I didnt want to base my whole review on just one drink that made me sad to spend $6 on. I honestly really did like the atmosphere and think its a better place than other cafe to do some work. Maybe if I'm in the area again I would try a different drink and update my review, but definitely wouldnt order the Lavender Rose again :( read more

Boba Drive is such a Lowkey spot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Extremely fast service by the baristas, long operating hours to study, and overall clean environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In addition I appreciate how they make their own syrups and purées, seldom do you find a cafe or boba shop that invests in making their own syrups and purées. Though, if I could humbly make a request to develop a chia seeds topping since it can be a healthy and refreshing topping for drinks such as the peach or passionfruit iced tea. read more

My friend knows the owner of this boba spot, so we decided to try it out after lunch! Big fan of how spacious the space was, and love that there were so many outlets. Would be a great place to study or hang out with a large group of friends. They also have board games, which I can always appreciate! For my drink, I would give it 4.5 stars. I got the Mango Passion Green Tea with Boba at 25% sugar and normal ice. The boba quality was 10/10 and perfectly chewy, but my only gripe was that the drink was a little too sweet for me. read more
This seemed like a quiet boba shop that was great for hanging with friends or studying! There were plenty of tables and the area was clean and inviting. I ordered the Genmaicha milk tea! I have never had this flavor before, but it tasted like a rice milk tea, one of my favorite milk tea flavors! I'm really glad I tried this flavor and enjoyed all of my drink. I recently discovered this place after a friend of mine mentioned that there was a boba shop close to where we've been working during the holidays and I am so glad I got the inside scoop! Boba Drive is located in a little shopping corner with Grocery Outlet and some fancy schmancy looking apartments. Sadly, the area doesn't seem to be hopping, but I've been selfishly okay with that because I've never had an issue with parking. Big win for this place is that they do online ordering AND THEY'RE HELLA FAST. Also, I appreciate the cleanliness of the space (even though I take my drinks to-go). The drinks themselves are great and boba texture is perfectly chewy and soft. I get grass jelly in fruit teas and that seems to taste nice and refreshing as well. My go-to drinks have been passionfruit green tea, passionfruit oolong, and mango passionfruit. Can you tell I enjoy my passionfruit?? ;) At 50% sweet, they are slightly sweeter than I prefer for a half sweet tea, but not too bad, so I just stick with it. I appreciate that the teas do not taste watered down (though, I did see some reviews that called out getting watered down teas, I haven't had this problem). I especially appreciate that their oolong has that nice roasty, toasty aroma that really rounds out the body of the tea. I feel like at many boba shops, when you ask for less sweet, it unmasks how little or poor quality tea is used and you get the sense that the priority of the drink was the sugar and not the tea. With the teas that I have gotten here, I taste the actual tea which I am happy with. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly with my tea order today to enjoy tomorrow, so I am hopeful that it will be satisfying as well. It looks like milky coffee deliciousness, so I'm looking forward to it! Hoping this place gets to stick around for a while, 'cause I'm a fan! read more
I never heard about this place until recently, so I was pretty excited to try it after seeing their drink selection. There is plenty of parking there and it's in a nice area. The place was clean and modern. The drinks came out pretty fast and they were happy to accommodate for any requests. The drinks we ordered were the Black Sesame Hoji, Strawberry Matcha, and the Lychee Matcha. I got the lychee matcha with oat milk which tasted allright for me. I never seen any other milk tea place have lychee matcha so that was cool. My friend got the strawberry matcha with whole milk and the black sesame hoji. They both couldn't finish their drinks. The quality of the matcha wasn't really good compared to other places. The black sesame also tasted too watery and wasn't enjoyable. However, the boba here was really good quality. It was really chewy. It was my favorite thing about the drinks. Next time, I come here, I will for sure try their fruit teas. read more
It's decent boba and decent milk tea, but nothing amazing. I made a custom early grey milk tea with boba. The tea itself taste a little over-brewed, as it had that "dry" after taste. It's just ok! If I'm in the area I would swing by again. The cashier was really nice and my drink was made quickly. read more

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. She lives nearby and this is her go-to boba spot. I was craving boba after a long time day. The interior was nice and clean with plenty of tables to sit-- I saw a group that looked like a study/ homework group and another group playing a board game. There are a decent selection of drinks- while not feeling overwhelmed by the number of choices. The boba had a nice chewy texture and wasn't hard or chalky in the center. Located in a plaza near Grocery Outlet with plenty of parking plus easy to get to since it's conveniently near the 101. There was 1 worker there and no line = short wait time. We ordered: - 2x taro milk: 3/5 - made with fresh taro which was a plus but the bad was that it was not blended well so when drinking the tiny chunks of taro would get stuck in your throat - bee-long: 4/5 - tasted like a normal milk tea, nothing too special - black sesame hoji: 5/5 - grainy but tasty, boba was made good too, would recommend this drink to those who like black sesame Service was good - placed order and got the drinks fairly quickly. I was in the Bay for work and in the mood for some boba. Boba Drive was closest to work and drove to the spot. Loved the combos they had and settled on the Taro Milk with extra boba. Was it good? Oh yes! Was the taro real? Def was and oh so good! read more

Is this store has the same stuff as Boba Guys?
Some items may be similar, such as a matcha drink with strawberry purée, options of Straus organic milk, Oat milk, and their partnership with Third Culture Bakery. That allows them to also sell mochi doughnuts and custard cakes.
When would be a good time to go there to get bakery items so they are fresh and more selection?
We went on a Wednesday at about 3:30 pm and they had some items. Perhaps earlier than that would be more fresh. Good luck!
