Wow the chocolate oreo smoothie is SO good! So sweet yet so good! The mango bingsu is so good! Even on a rainy day. Parking was easy, right next to Jack's. It's so sad that the mall inside is so empty. Wish more shops are open. It's in the middle of the mall, few high tables and chairs right outside the store front. Convenient order counter. I'm sorry Boba Nation, I wasn't familiar with your game, by which I mean this place far exceeded my expectations! Boba Nation is one of the few surviving businesses at Newark Mall. It has a broad drink menu including teas, smoothies, and matcha, along with acai bowls, bingsu, and hot snacks. There are a few tables and chairs nearby, or you can sit outside since it's near the mall entrance. There are self-service kiosks to order. I got a large lychee milk tea and my friend got a matcha tiger, and we were both pleasantly surprised by our drinks. We both thought the tapioca was the standout -- it was cooked perfectly, the right amount of chewy, and sweet. My friend said the matcha flavor was strong and good. Craved some boba and decided to give boba nation a try. I was drawn in by the various drinks. They had so many options. I love mango so decided to give the mango milk tea a try and I wasn't disappointed. The tea was very flavorful and fragrant. The tea was bursting with mango flavors. It comes with boba, I opted for the small size and it was perfect. Service was good, order from the self serve kiosk and then they make your drink and you grab it from the pickup side. Staff was very nice so you can expect the service was good. We waited a few mins (about 20 mins) for our order, maybe because she was alone when we got there, about 1:30pm on a Thursday, and there were a few people who ordered before us. She did say she will make our waffles fresh so I guess that added to the time too. Really did not mind the wait. Fresh is always wanted. The coconut oreo shake was good, but it was a little sweet for me. There was no option to lessen the sweetness when we ordered it from the "screen". Cheese foam matcha, half sweet, was perfect and the cheese foam was lovely. Mozzarella cheese waffle was cheesy according to my company. I did not taste it. Hotdog and cheese waffle was mine and it tasted good... the only thing that failed my expectation is that they used half hotdog in a regular size waffle. Also, the cheese was concentrated on the bottom part... so my first couple of bites was just the waffle itself, which tasted good, then came the hotdog then the cheese. I thought I would be able to taste the waffle with the hotdog and cheese all at the same time. 3 stars on my hotdog and cheese waffle... because although the waffle tasted good... Didn't expect to find such a great drink place in Newpark. Saw it on the way out and impulse-stopped after being stunned by their gigantic menu on their gigantic television menu. No regrets. I tried the milk tea from Boba Nation at the USA TODAY Wine & Food Experience event, and I was really impressed by how tasty it was. I found out they have three locations in the East Bay area. I was skeptical about this place but my friend and I had time to kill before our movie. It was around 6:30 Tuesday and they were about to close at 7. I felt bad ordering kinda late but the staff was very friendly and helpful when trying to decide what to order. They even had me try the house milk tea and I was very surprised it was very good... for a regular milk tea! It wasn't very sweet like a lot of places and you can taste the tea as well. They offer a lot of flavors and it was very hard to pick something. To be safe I went with taro but they had a taro Oreo which I picked. Also not too sweet and a lot of places let you customize the sweetness but the sweetness to me was just right. Definitely recommend this place. Always bring that one friend that wants to try places and not judge the book by it's cover! read more

The other day we visited the new park mall in Newark, and stopped by Bourbon nation to grab some drinks. I ordered a kale spinach smoothie with no Boba and my goddaughter ordered a strawberry fruit tea with Boba. I was with my son in Newark Mall. I accidentally order from the Hayward location for pick up. When I received a text saying my order is ready, I approached the counter and the girl looked confused. I doubled check the app and it said order ready for p/u in Hayward. I felt so stupid. Luckily, they called the Hayward location to confirm and they made my order for me. The menu is huge, pages of options--so it can take a minute to decide what you want. It's a little overwhelming at first, but the staff is friendly and service is fast. I usually come here for the bingsoo. It's not as fancy or traditional as the ones from Korean dessert cafés, but it's still pretty good, especially on a hot day. read more

I took my nieces to New Park Mall after a disappointing attempt at getting them some boba from a different place across the street. I was so glad Boba Nation was right there when we walked in. The assortment of flavors and options was great. One of my nieces ordered a chocolate milk tea w/boba, and the other got a strawberry milk tea w/boba. Both enjoyed their drinks, thanks! One ding was that no one helping us could answer our question asking about cheese in drinks. It sounds gross to me (I think cheddar or mozzarella), so we were asking for someone to explain what kind of cheese it was that was added to drinks. Peach lychee fruit tea is a hit!!! The barista said it wouldn't be sweet and I was concerned. I wanted it sweet but it was my normal favorite drink. She must have been new. I think she also gave me the wrong lid can't get my coconut lychee jelly out of the lid. Normally provided with boba straw. I would give this place a solid 4 out of 5. They have plenty of different of drinks to choose from and offer milk alternatives (soy milk or almond milk) which is nice. The workers are quick so I got my drink pretty quickly! I ended up getting the Ube Fresh Milk drink with boba. The drink itself was good and it actually had a real Ube flavor. Other milk tea places I've been to have gravely misused taro as a substitute for Ube. They are absolutely not the same. Because of this, I was pleasantly surprised it was right Ube flavor! The one thing I wish they would improve on is their their boba. It is very bland ... it has a good QQ consistency (cooked just right) but I would highly suggest they also cook it with honey or brown sugar. This would make the drinks SO much better. read more

Excellent customer service. Clean and efficient place. Ordered the tiger brown sugar milk with boba. It was actually much sweeter than expected, but still very good tasting. I didn't even ask, but the cashier gave me a free strawberry watermelon sampler to taste in a cup. We were just chatting about how I had just purchased a large sized fresh watermelon juice no sugar from food court upstairs. That was over $7.50. If I saw this earlier, I would have given it a try here instead. Lower prices/similar sizes. Prices are decent and inexpensive compared to its competitors. Conveniently located inside Newpark Mall-still in renovation mode as they are planning to build a Costco where the Forever 21 and Burlington Coat Factory used to be. That part of the mall has been torn down in the works. There are empty bar seating & small tables in front of the Miniso store across from here. Very dead and quiet mall these days. Their beverage menu is huge! They even have small bites/Asian baos/buns and other goodies. Not bad for a tiny storefront. Perhaps I will revisit when the mall is in better shape in future. A lot of spots had closed down since I had last visited here years ago, but my friend and I stopped by to walk around to kill time, and I decided to try them out. They have a large menu consisting of coffees, frappes, fruit teas, iced teas, juices, lemonades, milk teas, shakes, slushes, smoothies, sparkling drinks, etc. With a large menu, it could be overwhelming, but it may be good because there is something for everyone here. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. It tasted bitter and grainy, and a bit stronger in tea taste. I wished it was a bit more creamy as well. read more
