You truly can't go wrong with getting your boba pick me up from bobalust! I've been coming here for a while now and their drinks never disappoint. Me being basic i go for winter melon milk tea with herb jelly and i love!! The milk tea is perfect, the toppings are fresh, and it's never a cup full of ice! And all the workers are always friendly regardless if it's busy/slow!! Best customer service I've had compared to other boba shops. They're really quick and you'll be in and out within 5 minutes! Now, I'll let you all know now... don't go on weekends!! I don't go anymore Friday-Sunday because it gets extremely busy... the parking lot gets filled with teens revving their "race" cars. And the line/wait are always long with no place to sit!! On a busy Saturday it takes 30+ minutes to get my drinks. Okay, finally came back here since my 1st review 7 months ago. This time I avoided the milk tea for myself just because of the previous visit. Everyone I know keeps recommending the lychee bomb so that's what I got this time. It has a good lychee taste to it, not too sweet but not lacking flavor however after a couple of sips, you get sick of it. Probably refreshing during the summer instead of the winter though. I also took a sip of my friend's taro MT which is probably the only one I've ever tasted with that much of a taro flavor (a bit too sweet), but it was good.. Anyway, I'm glad the cup size finally changed & this was the only local boba joint open past 9pm on a weekday (closes at 11pm) so that was definitely a plus but otherwise I wouldn't recommend hanging around here late night. Drinks (5/5) -So far I have tried three of their drinks: The Taro Slush, Strawberry Seduction, and The Pretty In Pink I believe. All three of those drinks haven't disappointed me. Atmosphere (4/5) -The place has a nice small modern look to it, that attracts a lot of people leaning towards the younger side. Don't expect some peace and quiet because that small shop holds in a lot of the noise created by the customers and employees. Don't get to the Southcenter often but a friend and I were in the area and decided to give this place a try after lunch. I don't like milky stuff so I went with the original passionfruit slush with half the amount of boba and my friend went with the ChaMolly a mango slush blended with mango bits, chamoy and tajin sprinkle. The ChaMolly was so tasty and not overly sweet I would definitely get that next time or maybe one of the other signature slushies like the Sunburst. Was visiting a friend in Kent, and had a sudden craving for boba, so decided to try BobaLust as it was the closest option that would satisfy my need. I was not disappointed. I got the OG Milk Tea - as I always do when trying a new boba place for the first time - with honey boba.The honey flavour is very evident and enjoyable. The pearls had a fair consistency but they were not cooked to perfection or consistently - some were harder than others. No biggie. The flavour of the drink overall was good and the regular sweetness with less ice was the right way to go. Something to note: they have a pretty extensive and fanciful menu of specialty drinks! I came to BobaLust to find black balls to suck on and black balls are what I got. No, I didn't find a black boyfriend or any boyfriend as a matter of fact, I mean their boba. Duh. As a boba fanatic, it is my hobby to go around and try all the bubble tea shops in the Seattle area. BobaLust Tea House is unique because of their specialty drink menu that isn't found in most places. It's like an extended cocktail menu, but for boba drinks. You can find your classic tea drinks here, but there's also a rotating monthly menu so there's also something new to try and if there's a drink that's no longer on the menu that you really love, they will still make it for you. Conveniently located right across the mall, but parking is super easy since there's nothing good going on in this plaza except for this spot. Interior is small but cute, it's very catering to the millennial market that need a nice background with cool decor to take photos of everything which is probably great to get free social media marketing for the business anyways. I got the cuddles on the beach drink and though the peach bits that it came with was addicting. My friend got a drink that has honey boba in it, I didn't even know there's that option but I tried it and it was delicious. My favorite part is the late hours, it's nice to get dinner around this area and have a place still open to continue sitting around and gossip. So even though I would like the drink taller like what I'm used to, it's okay, because last Monday night the customer service was over the top. I walked up, gal had a friendly smile, took care of me, oh and I forgot to mention a long time ago, but they have Apple Pay! Hurray for being up to speed on things technology wise. It's nice to be able to pay with my watch, and not have to dig in my wallet for a card. The atta boy goes to the gal at the register who did not shout out my number, but brought my drink to me at the table I was waiting at. Maybe it's a regular thing, but this is the first time it has happened to me. Well done! Then as I was pulling out, one of the owners recognized me, acknowledged me and waved. Nice gesture! That's what I call service. Since I moved here 13 years ago from Los Angeles, I had to try all the boba places that opens up in Seattle. From Queen Anne to Tacoma. I've had boba in L.A. , and all over Orange County. My favorite boba places are actually in Torrance/Gardena area. When I moved to Seattle, I met a few women I became friends with, and got them hooked on either milk tea with boba or smoothies with boba or jelly. One of my friends moved to Oregon, and has not been able to find any boba places. So when she drove up to Seattle for the day, she found BobaLust, enjoyed it, and posted on social media about it. So I decided to take the ladies one day to try it. We all enjoyed our drinks, plus this place has lots of smoothie/specialty drinks selections. Also the way they cook the boba is the way we all liked it. That being said, the reason I'm only giving a three star is because 1. Compared to the places I've frequent in the South Bay of L.A., or even a few places in Seattle, they offer different sizes, or even a larger size for less money. 2. I don't really order smoothies or slushies, my go to would be OG Milk tea with egg pudding, and boba. But unfortunately they don't have puddi 3. And tonight after having milk tea at a new restaurant that didn't offer boba with their drink, I begged my honey to take me to bobalust on the way home. I decided on a smoothie, but I totally forgot to ask for boba because I'm used to the person taking my order to ask me if I want boba. That's partially my fault. So maybe train your crew to up-sell each customer, and ask if they want to add boba, etc...to their drink, even though their drink has everything posted on the menu, such as Cuddles On The Beach. Just because it has peach bits, someone like me might want boba or jelly as well. That's more money in your pocket. One thing I do like is that they're open until midnight. Unlike everything else around here closes at 9pm. So if I have a craving, I don't mind driving 25 minutes away to get a drink. If my friend can drive from Oregon to bobalust, then driving from the south side ain't no thang. Easiest 5-star rating I've given in awhile, and oh so deserving. I've been to nearly every bubble tea place throughout Washington and have finally found the one to call my favorite. Finally! The Orange Dreamsicle was everything I could've imagined and more. Each sip made me roll my eyes back and smile from ear to ear. It's seriously THAT good. I was in disbelief that they could concoct such an amazing blend of flavors. I cannot exaggerate enough how delicious and flavorful this drink is. The minor downfall for me would be the parking lot. I think their milk tea is loads better than before but their fruit tea drinks are still one of the best drinks in the Seattle/Tukwila/Kent/Renton area. Took us around 25 mins to order and get our drinks but it was worth it! The drinks range from about 4-6 dollars. What was really unique about this place was the option to add real fruit bits in replacement of jelly or boba. Be real with me... is it bubble tea, or is it boba??! Boba tea?! Either way, what an Instagram worthy little bubble tea shop. Right when we walked in, I could feel the limited space inside. It's minimally decorated with some cute details and the infamous neon sign on the wall. There's a TV that tells you all the most popular drinks here, and they're definitely not your usual bubble tea drinks. The four of us all got different drinks so that we could sample the menu more. I was very disappointed to see the sizes of the small drinks (for the same price as a "regular size" everywhere else???!). The toppings/add-ons were different and I can't say I liked them all too much. I had regular boba in mine but the bobarista put honey boba instead. I could definitely taste the sticky honey with every bite. The crystal boba on the other hand had such a refreshing texture that I am really dying to get again. Of the 4 drinks we got, I rank 1-4, 1 being the best...... 1. Wintermelon 2. Chamolly 3. Thai Green Tea 4. Taro/Oreo. Maybe I'll come back, maybe I won't. Taking pictures was fun, but I'm just not crazy about this tea house. If I do come back, it'll be to try the other wacky flavors they offer. Really cool place to chill and get some drinks. My first time here I came after work with a couple of friends and it was nice. The environment was very inviting. They are known for their pink neon light on the wall which tends to be a big influence. The place can be spacious from time to time because people will just buy their drinks and leave. I got to tell you, the place is an unassuming storefront in a little strip mall. Walking in is nothing overly impressive except it was exceptionally crowded. Waiting in line was quick, took my order and I stepped aside. Staff were super nice and even helped me get exactly what I wanted even though it wasn't on the menu. Short wait and I got my delicious boba tea! As a brief addition, this review is a Covid review. These guys are doing all the procedures, masks, gloves, plexiglass barriers. The whole works.
