I came here with a friend for some good boba and a good chat. The location shares parking with both QFC and Bartell Drugs nearby, so it's very easy to get to by car. There were a ton of peoole ordering and sitting inside at around 1pm in the afternoon, so my order did take quite a while to come out. Inside is pretty spacious with plenty of seating that can fill up fast. There was music in the background but it's not too loud, so it's a nice place to socialize in without yelling over any noise. I forgot to take a picture of my order, which was a taro milk tea with boba and 50% sweetness. Flavors were decent. It wasn't anything too special but it was satisfying. The location also sells egg waffles, and a number of people ordered that and their takoyakis which are available only at this location. My friend and I both got the classic milk tea with boba. I adjusted mine to 50% ice, 50% sweetness, and dairy free creamer. I like that you can adjust both sugar and ice levels. One of the best boba spots i've had in Renton! I was over at one of my friends house and we walked over to the center that had this boba shop, QFC, and many other places. I've never had Over The Rainbow so I was excited to try their drinks. I got their Mango Green Tea which was filled with delicious flavor and the tapioca was so soft. The service was quick; the register person was super sweet and asked if we needed any questions to ask! The place itself was cute, spacious and had many seats for comfort. The young man at the counter here was super patient about all my questions. I ended up with a mango flavored green tea with Lychee jelly. Super delicous and was gone by the time I made it home. This cute tea shop also offers tons of other choices including sweet cream, boba, black tea, hot and cold beverages and those yummy looking waffles. I appreciate the patience and answers while I decided what to drink/eat. The parking lot for this place is in a shopping center with a very busy QFC so be careful. I was visiting a nearby nail salon and that is why I ended up here. The prices are typical for boba, I think, but if and when I come back for my pedicure here I will visit this tea shop again. Solid bubble tea close to the QFC grocery store. Extremely dangerous because if you're hoping to just buy groceries, guess again because you can't help but go into this establishment. I had a black milk tea with Crystal boba. Not too sweet either which is good for me. My only recommendation is to not drink one of these right before a blood test and then get your blood test results and freak out but then remember after the fact haha. read more

Been here a few times, mostly out of convenience when I have a bubble tea craving. My go-to is usually the grapefruit green tea at most bubble tea places but this one falls a bit short. The grapefruit tasted a bit too syrupy. Milk tea here is a bit hit and miss, sometimes it's pretty good and other times feels like the tea flavor isn't strong enough. Consistency issues can be improved. They do offer bubble waffle which is nice, and they do a good job with it. Nice crust outside and chewy inside. Not very good. I tried their milk tea and my friend got the mango smoothie but both were very watery and had undercooked boba. The mango smoothie didn't even have fresh mango and I suspect it has mango powder flavoring. I wasn't impressed at all by the quality of the milk tea and could have made a better drink at home. I agree with all the other reviews on here regarding the change in cup size. My husband & I are frequent customers here, we get bubble tea maybe once a week. But, was very surprised on our last visit to find that they changed the cup size to almost half the regular size, and barely any adjustments to the price?! Not worth it anymore, in our opinion.. They have board games that you can borrow and play. There is a huge parking lot so you will not have trouble finding parking. Since I didn't know what to order I just got what was on their list of top six drinks. I ordered the milk tea with boba and egg pudding and the total was $5.78 with tax. Is it slightly above average price for boba? Maybe, but I technically got two toppings so that might be why as well. The boba tasted really good. It was soft and chewy and there was actual flavor in the boba. I could probably do without the egg pudding and if I came back I probably wouldn't get it because I thought the boba itself was already great. I will say that I wish they had a couple more tables. I don't know how busy they get during the day but at 8pm on a Thursday night all the tables were occupied. This is one of the better milk teas I've had in the general Seattle area so I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever in the Renton area again. read more

It's been a few years since I've been here and my rating has not changed since 2018 much. We had drinks and bubble waffle. The bubble waffle reminds me of something I can make at home. We usually get the standard milk tea, but I'll do a sweeter smoothie if I'm feeling a little spicy. Maybe a taro smoothie or something. Bubble waffles are always good too, but they add at least 5 minutes to your wait time, maybe longer if there are orders ahead of you. They're made-to-order so it's just how it goes. Be patient for your freshly made bubble waffle! ALSO they got their own branded cups with the sealed tops now - no more generic cups with snap on lips. As more boba shops pop up in the surrounding area, I find that Over the Rainbow sinks lower and lower on my list. All of my most recent visits left me disappointed for the following reasons: 1) They're always out of something... Red bean, aloe, or even boba :( 2) The boba isn't great. It's either gone downhill or it simply can't compete with some of the newer places that taste better. I usually get a different topping like aloe, egg pudding, or their new sea salt cream, but I always try my bf's boba to see if I'm missing out. It's always flavorless and super soggy on the outside. 3) If I stray from my usual drink, I find that it tastes very watered down. The only reason why I come here is for the rose milk tea with aloe. That combo hardly disappoints, but I will definitely frequent other places to get my tea/boba fix. read more

Love that there is a bubble tea place so close to my house! I hate the fact that whenever I'm craving some Boba, a smoothie or a refreshing tea I have to go to the Landing for ShareTea or Chinatown. OTR Tea Bar is located in the same complex as QFC so it's super convenient if you're shopping next door. The tea bar is super cute inside, looks like a little cafe. I also LOVE the greenery and little plant decor they have around the tables. They have lots of choices and drink recommendations if you don't know what you want. I've tried several "Top Drinks" and loved them all. They have 2 drink sizes, one that's pretty big (maybe more for looks, I think it's cute) but will not fit a drink holder in your car. They have a "normal" size, which has the same amount of liquid as the fatter cup but will fit a drink carrier. They also have some hot food items and desserts. The classic milk tea is delicious however the boba was not a fresh batch (soft and chewy) so I would have to give it a 3 star instead of a 4. I ordered one of their top 5 menu, milk tea with boba & egg pudding. First, I loved the drink. It is not too sweet or not too milky. Flavor is really good, I think they bought the tea flavor really well. The reason why I gave them 4 stars is that their is not much of space for sitting. Because of that, inside of cafe seems pretty empty. They also sell the bubble waffle and takoyaki. It smells really good when you are sitting in the cafe without odering them! What's not to love about boba right? Well, I'll say that OTR Tea Bar is far superior in terms of flavor, compared to 90% of the boba bars out there. Often times you can't make out the tea flavor or the quality of tea used is subpar, but at OTR you get a distinct and robust tea flavor with every sip and it's just magnificent. They have a good ratio between the tea, sugar and flavoring. While I cannot verify what additives they use - powder or syrup, but I haven't encountered a chalky drink yet. Other things to note: there's nothing to rave about in regard to inside the establishment, as it's quaint. The menu itself isn't over the top but they have a good selection to please everyone. They don't serve food, however they do have that doughy waffle thing and takoyaki. This is my go to place for boba! read more

Then the drinks itself .. got watermelon lemonade and it tasted like a bad hit of kool aid gone wrong. From the reviews, this seemed like one of the better boba spots in WA, but my drink was pretty disappointing and ended up tasting like sweetened, watery milk. I ordered the oolong milk tea at 75% sweetness, and right when I took my first sip, I could already taste how watered down my drink was. At first, I thought my tea was off since I adjusted it to 75% sweetness, but as I kept drinking, the sweetness was present. I enjoyed coming here, it is cozy and the decor is very cute. I feel like I was in a different place when I went inside. They have WIFI as well. It is a spot where friends and family can spend time together for a little while. The drinks were tasty, but sweet.
