BobaMi (La Puente) is not bad. I ordered the Mango Milk Tea with Mango Star Jelly ($6.19 - Less Ice - 75% Sugar). The Mango Star Jellies are soft, playful, and bouncy. YUM. Unfortunately, the Mango "flavoring" tastes very artificial with an unsettling saccharin, bitter aftertaste. There's potential, but I wouldn't reorder that Mango Milk Tea. I arrived at BobaMi (La Puente) on Sunday (around 11:15AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big. It shares the Walmart parking lot. Customers can order at the counter or self-service kiosk. Staff is pleasant and welcoming. Staff politely answered my questions. My drink took five minutes and 28 seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Mango Milk Tea with Mango Star Jelly ($6.19 - Less Ice - 75% Sugar). It's big! Although I'm not a fan of this drink, I appreciated aspects of it. The Milk Tea is crisp and thirst-quenching, and the Jellies are fresh and bouncy. However, that cheap-tasting Mango flavoring ruined it. If I'd ordered just the milk tea & jellies, the experience would have dramatically improved. On ambiance, BobaMi (La Puente) is clean and cozy. I enjoyed its greenery. Also, there's some utility. The location had customer internet with password; customers must ask Staff for the details. There's also a small game corner for customers above the counter. However, this business does not have a restroom. I also found zero electrical outlets for devices. Overall, BobaMi (La Puente) feels like untapped potential. Welcoming new fusion boba/Viet food spot in La Puente. They've got games and several tables to hang out at while sipping on some decent tea shop classics (boba milk teas, slushies, etc.), and a good selection of both Vietnamese staples and more tea shop favorites. I got grilled pork banh mi, egg rolls, and 2 different boba teas--brown sugar boba and jasmine green tea boba (one free, since the owner wanted to know what I thought about it). The sandwiches were good, bigger than others in the area, and the price reflects that. They loaded it up with veggies, which I loved, so bonus points for that. The meat is tasty too, though more gingery than I'm used to. Bread is good, but not quite there with the crustiness. Egg rolls were yummy! They serve it with just the sweet chili sauce, not the nuoc cham and lettuce, but not a problem. The filling is fairly porky and definitely not padded with filler. They were fried perfectly and to order, which is another point in their favor, since a lot of the other spots in the area just have them precooked and sitting in a heated display case for who knows how long. Teas were good too. They're about the size of a large at most tea shops, and are about on par with a Quickly or similar store. The boba are a bit on the soft side, but not mushy or overcooked, and are also not the honey or sweetened variety. Tea-to-milk ratio is good--not too much milk that it obliterates the flavor of the tea, though of course the green jasmine is much more subtle than the black tea of the brown sugar boba drink. I'm looking forward to coming in again soon. The Banh Mi I had ordered at BobaMi was excellent! I came by to visit during my break time and I had a nice first experience. BobaMi is located next door to Walmart in La Puente. It's a small mom and pop spot with a handful of tables for seating and nicely themed decorations inside. They advertise as Viet Fusion and serve up Boba drinks too. The banner outside said Happy Hour 1PM-5PM is BOGO 50% off on drinks. I visited shortly after opening and only came to get a bite to eat. The staff was accommodating and welcoming. I ordered the Grilled Pork Sandwich. The food was made within 5 minutes and given in a container box. The Banh Mi tasted great! I enjoyed the flavor of the pork and the freshness of the veggies. The bread was also very crispy and enjoyable with each bite of savory flavor from the pork. I ate half and saved the other half for later. All in all, it's a good spot for a quick lunch. Wanted to try this place since I see another Banh mi place in my area so gotta know what's up. It's tucked near Walmart but the name was catchy. I ordered the beef Banh mi with a passionfruit mango slush w/ lychee jelly. Overall, I find it really enjoyable, I'll definitely come back. The price is pretty justified as it is within the $7-$9 range as a banh mi should be and it is easy to eat. The Banh mi is packed perfectly where it doesn't dislocate your jaw but has enough filling to leave you satisfied with your bite. The beef reminded me of bo chien bo, buttery lemongrass beef, very yummy. Veggies were nicely pickled and not too acidic and the bread was nice and crispy with soft interior. The slush also very good especially on hot day same as your typical boba spot. I hope this location grows in popularity and wish it lots of success as the food I found it to be very delicious, excited to come back and try their other dishes. The cashier was also very nice as I got to understand how long this establishment been running and just got to discuss the need for more Banh mi place in this area. Such a nice place! The area is very clean, and the atmosphere has a nostalgic feeling to it--like the restaurants and drink spots I would visit with my parents as a kid. There is plenty of seating and the decor is vibrant and fresh. They have a BOGO 50% off for their drinks between 1-5pm and it is such a great deal! I got their brown sugar milk tea with boba and taro milk tea with boba. Both were very tasty and refreshing and a decent size. The boba has a wonderful texture, chewy and soft, and great quality. The tea flavors shine without being too overpowering, and the sweetness level is just right. Personally, I like my drinks a bit on the sweeter side, so I might get extra sweet next time! Stumbled upon this place by Walmart and I'm glad I did! The place was very clean and had a cute ambiance. I got the grilled pork banh mi, which had the perfect balance between all the ingredients.
