I came here to buy bread, desserts, and egg rolls, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I ordered 10 egg rolls, but I was only given 5 while being charged for all 10. The cashier, Long, handled my order, and I didn't realize the mistake until I got home. By then, it was too far for me to return and resolve the issue. Lesson learned: always check your bag before leaving. The bread was not fresh, and neither were the desserts. I was charged $5 for four very small pieces of bánh bò, which did not seem worth the price considering the quality. Great place for grab and go food. The menu has changed and their Che is more limited with what toppings go in there. The cashier lady was very friendly and spoke English very well, no issues with communicating as opposed to other BMC. The inside is organized so you can see the take out food quickly, it's all near the register where you line up. This is located in my childhood hometown! I used to frequent it a lot with my family back when it opened up. 14ish years ago the banh mi's were pretty good, now it's more decent that anything. The bread was really thin and small, enough that I was able to finish a whole thing by myself. Definitely not as quality or well portioned as I remember back then. I do like that they have BOGO deals, like with some flavors of tea drinks and the sandwiches. The service was fine. I like how early they're open so I can just stop by there if I'm in town in the mornings. Ambiance is also just fine. One of my frequent spots after buying groceries. The place is a cheap alternative compared to the Haven City Markets. Their chicken pho hits the spot and price point with a nice broth and noodles. I like coming here for a quick bite. Before I always take my parents here to eat and we always leave a tip. But now we haven't gone as much because there's so many Vietnamese restaurants around and they have their favorite place, the one on the corner of this plaza, is near the Dim Sum King/Queen nails hair salon. For me, sometimes I like to come after work to get a combination pho and 2-3 egg rolls. Even though the egg rolls went up to $1.20 each, is still good. I like the shrimp/pork/ear wood mushrooms and carrots filling, is delicious. The combination pho is pretty good too, they have lots of meat. Before I always leave a couple of dollars for tips but lately as I was eating, seeing other customers leave after they finish eating, they don't leave a tip. Should I also not leave a tip ? I mean, you ordered at the counter, they give you a number, you sit down, they bring out your food and that's it. They don't come out to ask you how was your food, pour you water or anything, should we still leave a tip ? Because sometimes, I feel like people walk by can just snatch the tips off the table. And that's not cool. So we should tip at the register, there's a tip jar there. They used to have this curry beef stew that comes with a French bread, that's really good but is always sold out. They have the chicken one but is not as good as the beef. If you haven't tried it yet, you should, is pretty good. Is one of those food that fills you up but not make you full, you know what I'm saying? lol. They have buy 2 sandwich get one free, the French bread ones isn't that good, but the baguette bread is better but more pricey. They have bogo drinks too. They seal the lids with plastic so they can bag it for you to go. Is not going to leak like some of you are concerned about, unless you're driving crazy swooshing all around lol but overall, is a nice and inexpensive place to grab a quick bite. They do party trays too but you need to order a day in advance and tell them the exact time you want to pick it up. The egg rolls are always a hot for parties. I was in the same plaza and happened to notice this place while driving out because their b2g1 free signage. They have a wide selection of items on the menu along with premade foods that are our such as spring rolls, hu tieu, banh cuons, desserts, chicken rice platters, etc. I noticed a few people going in to grab the chicken rice platters as I did as well since I was so astonished how inexpensive it was only $7. You would NEVER be able to find anything for these prices up here from where I'm from. It would have easily been double the cost. They also had b1g1 free milk teas. So for their special free deals for sandwiches and teas, there's separate sections on the menu where you could choose from which makes it easier so you know what you're able to get. The sandwiches were around $6 each and were for the french breads. The sandwiches were decently big in size but they could use a bit more meat in their sandwiches but it really was good you could easily taste the butter and pate. I got all 3 meatloaf, ham, and head cheese. I grabbed their spring rolls which weren't that good. Banh cuon was not that good either. I'm not sure if it was because I ate some of these the next day but I'm very familiar how these things are supposed to taste. The spring rolls and banh cuon lacked a lot of flavor. This BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali is located in the same plaza as HK2 Food District market, specially right by the main entrance of the plaza. I decided to stop by here on a Monday night with my husband. We came by around 7:35 pm. We ended up purchasing the following: Bun Nem Nuong, $7.98 prior to tax- This is one of the typical dishes my husband likes to order at this fast food chain. This vermicelli dish comes with a few pieces of pork and 2 egg rolls. The egg rolls could have been drained a bit more because they were really oily. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork was good. Bánh Bò Nuong, $2.50 prior to tax- I ordered 2 of these so that I could share one with some of my coworkers (since some of them have never grew up in Asian families and figured they would like to try something different). I always enjoy this pandan flavored dessert/ bread. My coworkers also enjoyed it and had comment on the texture that it was is quite soft and "squishy" but was surprised that it wasn't as sweet as they had expected. I like my things not to be too sweet but maybe I would call it "Asian sweet" and think its perfect. Hu Tieu, $6.98 prior to tax- We picked up this noodle bowl so my husband could have this for lunch at work the next day. Because the bowl was cold, the soup was already gelatinized but will thin out once heated in the microwave. I didn't have any of this but my husband liked it and it was plenty of food for him. Banh cuon, $6 prior to tax- I really love rice rolls and usually like to pick up banh cuon whenever I see them at this chain. The portion size is definitely plenty for one person, but I ended up eating half of it for lunch and the other half for dinner since I eat light in general. --------------------- (Total= $26.73 after tax) All of the items we ordered were already premade and found in the refrigerator right across from the register, except for the Bánh Bò Nuong. Since it started to get busy after we had ordered, we decided to wait for our item in the very corner at a table. Eventually an employee came out and called out our order number. We waved our hand and said here. She just left our food item by the table up at the front and walked away, although we had seen her give another customer waiting for his to go order. I thought that was kind odd that she just left our order there when someone could have easily taken it. But the service doesn't really surprise me since there are numerous of reviews here on this Yelp page that does mention how rude the employees are. I think I prefer the location in Covina, as the customer service is actually kind of friendly. The place itself looks and feels kinda dirty when you walk in (floor and doors). But their food won't disappoint! Their prices are super affordable and the portions are pretty big. Most of the menu items are already prepackaged (except banh mis and noodle soups) but made fresh and they all have a best before time. I love their spring rolls as well! They charge 0.25 cents for a container of fish sauce. It's a small restaurant. The vibe I got was fast food restaurant. I'm not sure if they bring the food to you but you order at the cash register and pay before you get your food. They had a lot of snacks, desserts, and premade food for to go.
