Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Egg Pudding
    Rosemarie E.

I was here yesterday 3/18 in the afternoon and the guy that was working there was super kind. (I didn't get a name). I was on my laptop working and he asked if I would like the music turned down which was very kind of him. (I said no because I actually liked the music that was playing). They did a bit of renovations since I was last there which made the place look roomier. I had the jasmine green milk tea with pudding and popcorn chicken. The wait wasn't too long. Thanks! Will be back soon

I have been to a ton of Ding Tea locations but surprisingly this was my first visit to this location. I was on the way home from a LA Kings game and had a craving. I looked for the nearest Ding Tea and was pleased to find this location only a few exits away from my current location. It is conveniently located about a mile north off the 60 freeway off the Nogales exit. It is one of the first business when you first pull into the strip mall and I was able to park right in front on a late Saturday afternoon. Not all Ding Teas have my favorite kumquat lemon tea so I was very pleased to find they do make it. They also have guava flavored tea which not all locations have either and I ordered this for my girlfriend. They further distinguish themselves by having some munchie food items. They have a ordering kiosk for when it's busy. There was no line so I just walked up and ordered from the cashier. The staff was very friendly and the drinks were delicious and made quickly.

    Creme brûlée

I asked for 2x creme brûlée and I sat there and watched the oldest lady scrape the walls of their small brûlée container for the last bits of it. When I went to pick up my order, I said I had asked for 2x and the girl said that it probably mixed in... honestly pretty disappointing since I sat there and watched them make it. This definitely is not 2x. It sucks because it is pretty good but because of this, I wouldn't come again. And the place is pretty dirty as well. Bad business.

Will not come to this place ever again , it was a wrong decision to come. The tea taste nasty and once you walked in the boba shop is full of cleaning products smell. Also , I understand nowadays it's important to go green. But I have tho say that I dislike the passer cup that they used on my cold drink. First it's flimsy and it seems like it going to leak any time. Not must service since you order from a big screen machine.

Come for a cupsleeve event, and really appreciated the staff's hard work and patience. The drinks at ding tea have always been extremely extremely sweet. I accidentally didn't ask for less than 100% sweetness, and it was overwhelming, but otherwise I had a great experience at this location.

Today (7/9/20) is the 7th anniversary of when the BTS gave their fandom the name "ARMY." In light of this ARMY anniversary day, I felt it fitting to write a review for a business that is run by a BTS ARMY and has been supportive of the fandom as the site of several fan-organized birthday cup sleeve events (pre-pandemic, of course). I first tried one of Ding Tea's milk teas (I got taro) when they catered some of their signature drinks at a RM birthday park event. I was impressed that Ding Tea was ready to go as soon as they arrived with their EZ-up canopy, table, and coolers filled with drinks. And I've been back when they hosted two BTS members' birthday events at their brick and mortar storefront. There's plenty of indoor space, with a cool stationary wooden swing near the front door for photo ops. Parking is very easy in the plaza they're in. The fan hosts did a great job organizing the events and Ding Tea's employees did a great job taking care of the endless stream of customers those days. They were friendly and prompt in getting orders taken and served. On days that I'm not feeling a milk tea, their passion fruit green tea at 75% sweet and with 75% ice ($3.70) is pretty much my go-to drink. And pre-pandemic, I love that I can bring my reusable tumbler for my drink and not have to take home another plastic, disposable cup!

Unfortunately, I left disappointed. One positive is the overall aesthetic. I like the layout and the lighting design, and the globe fixtures give the shop a nice modern look. Unfortunately, when you look closer, the fixtures have visible dust and grime buildup. Some of them are high up, so I understand they aren't easy to clean, but this is where an occasional ladder or professional deep cleaning comes in. The shop has good design bones; it just needs more attention to cleaning and maintenance. The music itself is trendy and current, but it is much too loud for a work-friendly coffee shop, especially because the space is very echoey. I'm including a screenshot of the sound level along with a short video so people can get a sense of it for themselves. I found it basically impossible to concentrate without earplugs or noise-canceling headphones. Seating is also limited and isn't very comfortable. It's mostly hard wooden benches and plastic or metal folding-style chairs. Nothing egregious, but not especially comfortable if you're planning to sit and work for a while. What really started the experience off badly for me was my drink. I ordered an iced matcha for $6.75 and asked if they could do less ice. I was told that if I wanted less ice, the drink would be less full. I said never mind and asked for it to just be filled normally. When I received it, though, my matcha still had noticeably less liquid than my husband's drink. Since they only offer one size for each iced drink, the difference was pretty obvious. We also tipped $1. The matcha itself was just your standard iced matcha -- nothing special -- and definitely didn't feel worth $6.75 to me. My husband's $8 Butterscotch Cream Latte actually tasted good, but after he finished it, we were surprised by how much of the cup was taken up by ice. The photo speaks for itself. Given that I had already been told that requesting less ice would result in a less-full drink, this really diminished the value for me. The bathroom was another big negative. I tend to judge the cleanliness of a business by its restroom, and this one did not give me confidence. The bathroom door and several surrounding surfaces looked like they had not been thoroughly wiped down in quite a while, with visible grime and buildup, and there were also holes in the wall. Even the glass entrance doors had visible smudges and residue. I'm including photos because these things were noticeable and contributed to an overall poorly maintained impression. There were no paper towels available. Instead, an old-looking handwritten sign was taped over the dispenser saying, "Please use the air dryer. Thank you!" I personally avoid hand dryers because of hygiene concerns, so after washing my hands I ended up using toilet paper and a toilet-seat cover so I could open the bathroom door without touching the handle directly. At that point, they might as well remove the paper towel dispenser entirely. Leaving an unused dispenser covered by an aged paper sign just looks lazy and poorly maintained to me, especially in a customer-facing bathroom. Aesthetically, I also wasn't a fan of all the taped-up paper signs. The front entrance has a large paper sign taped directly to the glass saying "PLEASE CLOSE THE DOOR GENTLY. THANK YOU!!!" along with several other smaller notices, and the bathroom has the aged handwritten sign taped over the unused paper towel dispenser. These are small details individually, but together with the visible grime, holes, and neglected surfaces, they made the shop feel more makeshift and poorly maintained than the otherwise nice design deserves. It clearly seems to be a popular spot, and my husband had far fewer complaints and enjoyed his latte. I also think the overall layout and lighting aesthetic have potential. For me, though, the underfilled matcha, ice-heavy drinks, standard-at-best matcha, loud music, limited seating, uncomfortable chairs, and overall cleanliness and maintenance made this a disappointing first visit.

It's a strong toasty tea blend with rich creamy buttery popcorn flavor, tastes just like a cereal milk or almost like a corn milk! Most times I visited, I had absolutely no wait at all, although I heard that during peak hours it gets pretty busy due to how busy the plaza is. My wife and I visited during lunch on a weekend and it was no wait whatsoever. Easily placed our orders and it was about a 5-10 minute wait for our drinks, very nice overall. Staff is friendly and quick which is always nice to see for a tea shop. They have plenty of options to go around, usually they'll have a sample for you to try which is nice if you can't decide on your drink choice. I absolutely love the mango or lemon condensed milk series, it's a mix of yakult style drinks on top of a bit more of a gushy feeling when you're sipping. Mix that with a bit of kick and you have the perfect drink for a hot day. Absolutely recommend trying it. Overall, a well maintained shop, although can get really packed during the peak hours, it's absolutely worth checking their store out. Very high quality drinks, consistent across all San Chen locations and definitely my choice of tea shop whenever my wife and I are in the area.
