Alexandria, VA - stopped in for a treat on weekday before lunchtime. Upon entering I noticed the shop was sparkling clean and featured a fun bright beach theme. I was greeted right away. I hadn't visited before so I was impressed by the various menu options that were not smoothies. Seems like it might be possible to get a light lunch here. I selected a peanut butter smoothie with the addition of whey. The staff were super friendly and kind. I could tell they care about their work. The smoothie was quickly ready and I was on my way. The value for the price was decent and the smoothie was quite tasty. Probably the only surprise for me was the styrofoam cup and plastic straw. Given the beach theme I would have thought they were a little more hip to plastic waste which a lot of times ends up in our waterways. Overall I would recommend this as a good place to get a treat though I would love to see a recyclable serving option. read more

Although considered a chain, I have grown fond of this particular location. I admit that I am a fan of milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream sodas, blizzards, icees etc. Probably a weakness for these iced beverages. Hahaha!!! I have been attending this shop even before the pandemic, and very glad that it has been thriving. The smoothies are quite good, refreshing and standard. Good solid recipes and they update their seasonal menu on occasion. There may be considered two negatives, but I don't think they are. The first negative if you would call it a negative is the staff turnaround. They hire a number of high school or college students. Some can be very great, while others not so much. Once trained properly, they seem to not be able to retain good workers, but they seem to get ride of the bads ones, pretty quickly, too! So, service could be inconsostent, but menu/recipe preparation has stayed. Be careful. The breakfast foods may not be heated thoroughly. If that happens, ask them to re-heat or make extra hot. The second negative would be the high popularity or demand for a smoothie during those dog days of humid summers in the DMV. If you aren't willing to wait for your smoothie and snack, you can go ahead and walk toward the competing, traditional and unhealthy _____ blizzard. Stopped in for a smoothie before my football game and I had no complaints with this location. I had the smoothie combo with the chicken caprese panini and both were great. I waited to eat my sandwich after my game and it was still great cold. The smoothie was huge for the combo and that kept me full and fueled throughout my game. Friend and I decided to stop by for some smoothies while waiting for our Chinese food cooked next door. Place was well-lit and seemed clean and nice. We ordered a blimey limey, rockin raspberry, and mango magic. The employees were friendly and helpful. We had no problems in our order and substituting/adding ingredients. Total was about $15 so expect to spend about $5 a drink here. It took about 5 min for our drinks to come which isn't bad considering there were a few people ahead of us. I loved my blimey limey. It was exactly what I wanted, citrusy, tart, and tasting of lime, but I just love limes haha. The rockin raspberry was great as well! Sweet and delicious, more people would probably enjoy than ghe limey. My friends mango magic was not good however. I think it was because of yogurt added. This is basically the only location I have been to, but it's clean and convenient. They could be faster, but you never really wait long. Servers are friendly and patient. Parking in this area is tough at lunch time. I have not eaten the food, only the smoothies, but they are consistently good. When I got mine, it tasted absolutely disgusting because they made it with vanilla flavored protein. When I went back in to have them remake it, the older woman I spoke to told me that the only unflavored protein their have is soy protein and I'm allergic. They'll speed-walk past you 4-5 times avoiding eye contact, meanwhile all these online orders are printing out & going right in front of you. 9 times out of 10, you'll even have to wait for an online/call-in order because there's no one at the counter because everyone is making smoothies & sandwiches.
