Great spot at Mashpee Commons. My friend and I both had salads...a chicken Caesar and a taco salad. Both were very fresh and very yummy. For a drink I had a Bloody Mary....just what I had been craving. A nice spicy mix with a giant olive and crisp celery. We had to wait quite a while for our server to bring over our check but I think she was a little overwhelmed. I'm thinking they had less servers on due to corona. I have written to the owner of Bobby Brynes, as well the manager of this particular location. NO RESPONSE from either person. We have been patrons of Bobby Byrnes since the early 1980's. Usually we find the restaurant experience a good one, the food is usually delivered hot and tasty, the service wonderful. However, met a friend for lunch. I arrived first, explained to the two very young greaters at the dias that I was meeting a friend here... Then I was asked if she were here ? (!).. to which I asked them " how would I know that? That is why I am asking you, is there someone here waiting on another person to arrive.?" Was met with blank stares. Finally was told to go in the dinning room to see if my freind was here already... while looking, and group of older women came in, as I walking back one of the teenagers POINTED HER FINGER AND TOLD THESE LADIES " YOU COME WITH ME" A bit rude to be speaking to customer that way, as well as showing no repect. The other teenager walked me to a table .... chewing her gum as cows chew cud... mouth open. ( my 3 year old nephew dosnt even do that!!! ) After my friend showed up, our waitress took our orders and we proceeded to talk .. for a long time!!! Finally my friend looked at her watch and commented that it shouldnt take THIS long for 2 sandwhiches!! When we called our waitress over and asked where our orders were, she let us know that they are being made. She walked immediately into the kitchen, immediately walked out with our meals, Now if she had been paying attention instead of socializing we would have gotten our sandwhiches (burgers ) HOT instead of LUKE WARM. Also, other people had come in AFTER us, served before us!! Lastly, one of the teenagers had cut off shredded shorts on. ( keep refering to these two greaters as teenagers. They could be older, however their actions do not convey this. ) This is not a hot dog stand on the beach!! Its Bobby Brynes!! Better choices for clothing would be expected. After a long day of work we decided to try out Bobby Byrne's for the first time at the Mashpee Commons. After dining here we left with mixed reviews. The food itself was decent and the overall ambiance was great. We loved the dining atmosphere, but the wait staff was a little rough around the edges and seemed overwhelmed. We started with fried calamari and the spinach dip. The dip was delicious and the calamari was average. For our main course I had the smothered steak tips which were good but not the best I have ever had. The steak was bland and the accompanying sides were lackluster (canned veggies and boxed rice?). That being said, this review may seem harsh, but I expected more for the price tag. In the end, this was a middle ground restaurant for us. We aren't dying to go back and we are also not opposed to having dinner here again in the future. read more

Great seafood. Hidden gem in Mashpee commons. Excellent chowder and cod!! Definitely visit them if you are in the area.

Gotta love Bobby Byrne's! You can eat in the bar area which has high top tables and a few booths as well as a full bar. The other side is a bright and spacious fully realized restaurant which feels nothing like the bar atmosphere. In warmer weather they also have outdoor seating making this a very versatile place for different dining experiences. The food is pub grub delicious and I have never had a complaint about anything I have ordered. They have an ancho sauce served with the fish taco dish that I like so much I pick it up as a side alone to bring home for the fish tacos I make. read more

It was another mediocre recommendation for us in the Cape and I can't say as I sit here feeling the 'MSG run thru my veins from trying my sons general Tso chicken wings that I would ever recommend to another person. The fish tacos were fried which was disappointing the world famous clam chowder had barely any clams in it.. you struggled to even find potato's.. it's basically a TGIF kind of chain feeling place in an outdoor mall. Again tried to support this Cape establishment at the Mashpee location. Came in for lunch at 1:30 on a Monday. Sat at table in bar and greeted by one of two servers who would be serving us. We started with waters and it took a while for either server to come back to us to take our order. We ordered two sandwiches and waited. Saw someone at the bar who came in after us get their meal, two glasses of wine and order dessert. Still nothing. Then I noticed our meals sitting ready to be served just inside the door. Staff went in and out, but still our meals weren't brought out. We even tried to wave at the server to get their attention. So with empty waters and our meals sitting for 15 minutes, we left after 40 minutes. Left a few dollars for the wait staff which wasn't even truly deserved. read more

What I didn't read from his comment was so much as an apology but an accusation that what I experienced was false. How professional. You should be ashamed of yourself. You've stated in other reviews you looked at camera footage and I enourage you to do that. I've been here a few times and the food is fine. However in a recent take out order on 2/21 in the afternoon, I arrived to pick up my order. I watched the only male bartender laugh it up and joke with two white customers at the bar. Mr. personality and super friendly. He looked at me and did not come over. Finally after a few minutes he comes over and I give him my name. He abruptly turns around starts walking away and with his back towards me he shouts, "that order just came in." I placed the order and arrived a few minutes early...so I deserve to be shouted at? I then watched, as there is a window to the kitchen at the door, as he threw my food in the bag. The container had leaked grease everywhere inside when I opened it. I am Asian American and while no one can prove this was racism, I thought his treatment of me versus his treatment of white customers at the bar a few minutes earlier was extremely suspect. Went to Bobby Byrne's last night with 3 friends for dinner. What a great find. We shared Onion Soup and New England Clam Chowder. For entrees we shared a Turkey Club, Cheeseburger, Linguine w/Clam Sauce, and a pulled pork sandwich. The food was excellent. The soups weren't salty & the chowder wasn't so rich you couldn't eat but a few bites. The entrees were equally excellent. The topping to our meal was our server. We ALWAYS enjoy the food at the Mashpee Bobbie Burns. The staff is a mixed bag; some of them are right on top of their game, even attentive to special (needs) requests. Others don't seem to ... to care... to want to be even be there... ignore the details (Ex: expressed an onion & peppers allergy; was made clear that I can have the spices {black pepper, onion powder, etc} but not "pieces of the vegetables". Still ended up with a plate with no spices at all, b.l.a.n.d. AND there were Chives on top!! Really!!?? Not wanting to waste food, nor risk making some unnecessary scene, we simply pointed out the scallions ~ the blank stare said it all. There was an offer to remake it (which included an explanation/request "since there wasn't any seasoning, not even salt or pepper. What would you like, specifically, on it this time?") Their lunch and dinner menu prices are very reasonable for a upscale area such as Mashpee Commons with other establishments like Siena, Blue, Trevi etc. If you can't afford to eat out, which John N sounds like, stay home and have all the soda and burgers you want or hit Burger King and have it your way. Their grilled chicken sandwich is delicious w honey mustard. Their stuffed chicken breast w mash and veggie is a comfort food delight, best mash potatoes in the area. Chicken Shakespeare is a gem, their steaks have a great rub and always perfectly cut. The baked scrod w their lemon butter is a fish fans dream. Servers and bartenders are always kind and welcoming. Had lunch their yesterday and the staff was great as was the food and the place was packed after the Falmouth Road Race. Avoid reviews like John N and see for yourself. This was my first visit to Bobby Byrne's Mashpee location. The food was consistent with (and just as good as) the Hyannis location. Bobby Byrne's is a great option for reasonably priced New England comfort food. It's unpretentious, has a good bar, and friendly staff. Even on a Tuesday night, off-season, the restaurant was clearly a popular choice. I opted for a Cape Cod Reuben: a fish sandwich with Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Thousand Island dressing on marbled rye bread. Before the sandwich, of course, came a bowl of Bobby Byrne's famous clam chowder: a rival for Captain Parker's award-winner. There were some good options for dinner specials, and the regular menu has a wide variety of choices, from salads to pasta, steak to stir-fry. Some of the desserts looked divine. Took the family to bobby Byrnes in mashpee commons on our way to our home. They were accommodating and were able to seat us within 10 minutes. That was the highlight of our experience. The food: kids ordered pasta and pizza. The pasta was not cooked through. Not even close to al Dente. The pizza looked frozen. Kids were unimpressed. My girl ordered baked scrod. She said it was terrible. Her green beans were of frozen quality and only enjoyed the rice pilaf. I ordered the baked shrimp and scallop casserole. It was in their healthy section of the menu. It was horrible. No flavor and drenched in butter, kind of taking away the healthiness factor. Overall, the food was just plain terrible. The service: she was nice enough. My boyfriend and I went here for lunch on a rainy day. Mashpee Commons was dead, but Bobby's was packed. You could tell right off the bat this is a local hangout. We got a bowl of chowder to split, and it was very good. Creamy and loaded with clams, with not too too many potatoes. Recommended. I had a hankering for fish and chips, but didn't want the entire platter. Luckily, they have a fried fish sandwich. This was fresh and satisfying - really really good. My boyfriend ordered the smothered steak tip sandwich. He went nuts over it - the tips were juicy and cooked perfectly. Definitely a must-try. The service was standard, nothing outstanding. The prices were spot on for what we wanted to spend for lunch, and the portions were just right. I have been to this Bobby Byrnes many times and out of all my experiences I would probably give it an average of 3 stars. There have been times where I've experienced excellency at this restaurant, but there have also been times where I left disappointed. However, the good experiences were enough to make me want to come back. The service is great when you get the right people. Like I said, I've had good experiences and bad, and that applies to the service, too. Most of the time, our server is happy to help and down to earth, but I had one of my worst experiences with a server here a few years ago. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty average and casual; nothing really stands out in a good way or a bad way. It definitely has a Cape Cod feel to it though. As for the food, I LOVE the fish and chips. It is my favorite entree here and it always comes out crispy and perfect. Their burgers are good, too. I have also tried the baked Mac N' cheese (yes, I'm an adult and still a huge fan of Mac N' Cheese...) as well as the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Unfortunately, the Mac N' Cheese was anything but cheesy and certainly not a casserole. Mashpee Commons is my haven during a busy day in the field. Shops galore! And Bobby Byrnes is where I go to recharge. It has outdoor seating, great service, excellently priced lunch daily specials (atop of their immense menu), and not to mention ... a huge bar (with adorable bartenders - you'll see what I mean). ATMOSPHERE Upon entry, you're greeted with a smile and sat in either the bar area or the main dinner area where the walls are painted with gaelic words (and other interesting languages, yet I couldn't tell you one from another) and there is plenty of booth seats. Very comfortable. Not your typical wild and crazy Bugaboo Creek type chain, but more of a relaxed feel. Go at your own pace. The general demographic is older folks (it is the Cape at lunch, after all) or mothers and fathers with toddlers at side. FOOD The menu really suits all needs, but consists mostly of standard pub foods: fish n chips (fresh fish and standard but consistently good chips), chicken parm (i'll take the food coma, please), Reubens, steak tips, ceasar salads, etc. But if you're just looking for a friendly, familiar atmosphere whether you've been to Mashpee Commons or not, good service, and plenty of food that won't bust your budget, Bobby Byrne's is the BEST food option amongst other fancy choices. read more

We were very disappointed with Bobby Byrnes when we went there in August. The good: No wait for a table for four despite it being a Saturday night. The appetizer was good. The bad: My wife's fish and chips plate was rubbery and my steak was overcooked and like chewing on a boot. When we told the waiter about the quality of my wife's meal, he shrugged it off, apologized insincerely, and wandered to another table. Great restaurant, bar at Mashpee Commons. Excellent menu with a wide selection of entrees and apps. Vegetarian choices, like the veggie burger looked good. Mac and cheese with a salad was a great choice for me, along with the potato skin app, which was excellent and full of cheese. It appeared to be home made as was the mac and cheese. Good lunch prices too. We sat outside on a hot day with umbrella tables and it was delightful in the courtyard of Mashpee Commons. Service was a bit slow, but we were not in a rush.
