I like this place. Their food is always good. My kids like this place I like their chicken coconut soup. I get a medium spicy. My kids are fine with the medium spicy but we are spicy people. I got the chicken sauté, very large pieces of chicken on a stick. The kids love it. The staff is very friendly and kind. They have several tables and chairs inside. It's fine for groups. I'm not sure if they have a restroom you can use in there. When you pull in, it's to the right. It's next to the street. Its very delicious.

July 16, 2025 | El Monte | Bobby Thai was a delicious surprise! A group of friends, and I had a shareable lunch together & what a yummy feast it was! Variety of soups, Pad Thai, and Curry, oh my! Hahaha! We loved it! Pad Thai | My Main Dish: Delicious with a bit of sweetness, & the perfect amount of crispiness to my flavorful tofu, which I enjoyed! I would easily order this dish again! Portions are huge here as well! Thai Iced Tea: Yummy! One of the best Thai Iced teas I've ever had! Warm Welcome: Incredibly friendly customer service! We were checked on constantly throughout our meal and easily with a smile! Parking: Free! Parking space is right up front! Overall: Yes, I would easily visit again! In fact, I'm looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu, including the Taro Milk Tea & shrimp fried rice! Thanks again, our meal was delicious in a very relaxed atmosphere!

Peanut sauce on chicken satay...mild. tastes better than it looks.

He said his name is Bond. Just like James Bond. Five stars for friendly warm welcoming service. Bond even recognized my companion who had dined here a week or so ago. Its a casual low-key place,...spacious dining room. Serving up solid Thai food thanks to Bonds' mom and dad in the kitchen. The Bobby of Bobby Thai has retired, so abundant is his nephew. There's a larger location in the Santa Clarita Valley under another name, but Bond us determined to bring this location to its former glory. I ordered chicken satay, which comes as three large flattened skewers, and a container of peanut sauce which is nice, a little runny, no chunks of peanut, but it's tasty without being thick or too peanutty. It also came with a red sauce but looked spicy, so pass. Didn't cone with a vinegar cucumber condiment like at other places but no matter, we dove in and enjoyed it. It's not a dainry satay, but very hearty, so the light peanut sauce works. 5/5 I also ordered to share the pineapple fried rice, hold the shrimp. There's no egg in this dish which is better for me. I'm allergic to egg and to shrimp. I should have asked for the shrimp on the side so my companion could eat it. Next time. The pineapple was juicy....there were raisins cashews and chicken along with some beef too...there's a curry flavor which surprised me....in fact this dish was awesome as a leftover two days later 5/5 it's nice freshly made but overnite that curry rice was darn tasty. 5/5 I took a star off bec if the plastic utensils, the Styrofoam takeout....your food comes to the table already in takeout containers....we decided to dine in so plates, forks knives....to make it less of a take out and mire of a destination restaurant, but they are short handed and probably compensate by making your meal to go at the get go. No need a dishwasher!! Plenty of free parking in Titos Plaza. No problem with credit cards.

Went here today and got the drunken noodles the pad see ew and papaya salad. Everything taste great. The salad was super fresh and flavorful. The noodles were such large portions for the price. Service is outstanding super attentive. I highly recommend.

Located in Tito's Plaza with lots of free parking. Called in my order and was ready in 15 minutes. They accept credit cards. Ordered fried tofu and rad na chicken. The fried tofu was perfectly fried and I loved the sauce that came with it. Wasn't the typical sweet chili sauce from the bottle. The rad na was filing and delicious. I only wish they gave the noodles in a larger to go tray instead of packed into the to go Chinese takeout square container. The chicken and sauce were separate in a to go soup container. I had to mix on my own plate and the noodles were all stuck together in a large cube shape. There are tables instead. Front counter staff were friendly.

Bobby Thai on Garvey in El Monte is back open after a complete remodel. Best Thai restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley and definitely one of the best in Los Angeles. I'm going to Thailand in a few weeks but I'm so glad I have Bobby Thai close to home!

Came back after their remodel, and its still really good! You can tell the owner really cares about his customers. He's so nice! Had Khao Soi noodles again, again very very very good!

Guys. This has to be hands down the best Thai food I have ever tried. Normally I thought Ochas would beat my standards, but this Thai place skyrocketed them. Next time I am going to try the Tom Kah and update this, but I just know i am not going to be disappointed. I am a very picky eater when it comes to Thai food, but like I said it was just overall so amazing and I am so in love with this restaurant. Shoutout to my girl Nanny! Such a sweet soul. -J The food is very very good, while the dinnerware is paper plates and the dishes come in to go boxes, the food is definitely worth it. The spicy drunken noodles were the highlight of the meal and def the fish to get. Also meeting the owners was very cool and it is rewarding as consumers to support local family owned businesses. -K Overall. We love this place! This is our new favorite? PORTIONS WERE ELITE! We both got full and didn't even finish the plates! So that's exciting!

Khao Soy You must try this.

I went to Bobby Thai in El Monte and asked what they reccomended. He learned that I once lived in Chiang Mai and suggested Khao Soy (N8 Curry Noodles), a dish that originated in Northern Thailand. I ordered that without a second thought. Finding Khao Soy is very difficult. It is a noodle dish served in a very mild yellow curry. If you have never had it, you must try it. It was absolutely delicious and authentic since the owner and staff are from Northern Thailand . The service is awesome. The staff was very attentive to all the customers in the restaurant. It is a small quaint locally owned place with sufficient space for everyone. I highly recommend this place. I will be back.

Wanted Thai food and spotted this place on Yelp with very high ratings so headed over to try it out. Located inside Tito's Plaza. Food is served in plastic to go containers, styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. Felt very odd eating with all that plastic inside a restaurant, especially with hot soup in a togo container. Requested for actual plates and bowls and he brought over melamine/plastic bowls and plates, which felt a bit better than styrofoam and clear plastic containers. Iced coffee is very sweet and the taste of coffee is barely there, just a sugary brown drink. 6 metal tables inside, no outdoor dining. Pad Thai is overly sweet and sauced up. Was hard to eat. Never had a failed pad Thai so was extremely surprised. Free extra rice offered. Seafood hot pot was ok . The person running the show was a kind super sweet gentleman. Very friendly service. He offered complimentary rice refill and water. Such a bummer that the food was too sweet and the style is more like street food presentation.

What a find! You get so much food for what you pay. We couldn't finish what we ordered in one sitting. We loved the flavor and it came with a fair amount of meat. Spicy Noodles: This is essentially Pad Kee Mao and this was our favorite of the two orders. We got medium spicy, which was a spicy that builds but doesn't hurt. It had a good amount of basil and soy sauce flavor. Pad Thai: This was very good, but a little sweeter and saucy-er than what I'm normally used to. The lime slice helped to add a bit of zing to the dish. We opted to dine in. Our entrees were served in take-out boxes. We were also provided styrofoam plates and forks.

The interior was well lit, filled with pretty flowers, and they even had some Thai music playing! After looking through the menu we finally ordered. Our table ordered the chicken red curry, shrimp butter fried rice, beef pad see ew, and pad gra pow. Everything was pretty standard across the board, just very good authentic Thai food. Only thing is that the pork from the pad gra pow was a little salty and not as fatty/tender as I'd like. Parking was very easy.

I got the Tantawan Fried Rice because from the description, it looked like it was basically their version of pineapple fried rice. It tasted exactly how I imagined it would. The rice had a really nice wok flavor, and everything blended together really well. It had that slightly sweet and savory combination that I like in pineapple fried rice without one flavor overpowering everything else. There were only two pieces of shrimp in the fried rice, which I do wish there were more of, but the shrimp themselves were excellent. They tasted fresh, were juicy, and were cooked to perfection. I also got the pad see ew with beef. It was not bad and definitely tastier than a lot of other pad see ew I've tried, but I don't think it would be my favorite. I was glad to see that they use gai lan instead of regular broccoli here lol. It makes such a difference for me and is what I expect in a good pad see ew. My only real gripe would be the portion sizes. I wish they gave you a little more food, especially since both dishes were pretty tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the Tantawan Fried Rice more and would definitely order that again. The pad see ew was good too, just not my favorite.

Just a heads-up, dishes take about 20 minutes, so don't be in a rush. For starters, we tried the chicken satay, fish cake and gold bags. The fish cake was divine -one of the best I've had. The gold bags were a close second: beautifully wrapped pouches filled with chicken, shrimp, veggies, and not oily. We tried all three entrees, and everything was delicious. The mixed fruit salad is their unique take on papaya salad, loaded with dragonfruit, apples, oranges, rambutan and cashews. It was a little spicy for me, so being able to choose the spice level would be wonderful. I think this dish might work better as an appetizer than an entree in my opinion. The spicy glass noodles with pork sausage, cilantro, onions and ground chicken dish with fresh basil was packed with flavor. For dessert, we got to try both shaved ice flavors: cream soda and sala (Thai palm fruit). Loved the Jackfruit and Palm seeds hidden throughout the shaved ice. Overall, this mom-and-pop shop is a hidden gem for unique flavors and creative authentic Thai food you cannot find elsewhere in SGV. Clean space and friendly staff. The Yellow Curry is pure comfort food; the broth is incredibly rich, smooth, and aromatic, with perfectly cooked potatoes and veggies. On top of the great taste, the portion sizes are very generous. It's flavorful and Ong Choy is nice and crunchy. Definitely a great vegetable selection. Pad Thai: the sauce is way too heavy and sweet. We didn't enjoy this as much as we thought we would. The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. And the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Definitely recommend it. The service was outstanding! The restaurant decoration is very traditional and unique. Every time I went to Yoshinoya, I passed by this Thai restaurant in this plaza that I didn't even know existed. So one day, I decided to give it a try.... and I'm so glad I did! What surprised me so much about this place was the price of everything. At $13.99 each for their Pad Thai and Drunken noodles, you are NOT going to find that price anywhere in this area with today's prices lol. Is the food here at the level of President Thai on Rosemead? No. But for the price you're paying, I'm really impressed and the food is still pretty good. At their ~$14 price point, they're also giving their big-chain neighbor, Yoshinoya, a run for their money too. They also have a BOGO free Thai Tea so don't forget to take advantage of that! What I want to harp on and warn everyone about though, is that the restaurant seemed very hot inside. I came at 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon in the summer and it seemed like they didn't have any AC working. Luckily, I ordered for take-out, but I definitely would not have been comfortable eating in the restaurant. I felt their portion sizes could be a bit bigger. I know I praise their low prices, but maybe that is the small trade-off--I felt those to-go boxes could be filled up a bit bigger! But minor harps aside (at least for me) I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for cheap and fast Thai food. The workers here (seemed like a family?) all seem very friendly and helpful and I encourage everyone to support local small businesses and give this place a try!

I ordered the lunch special for $12.99, which came with pad Thai, white rice, wonton chips, a salad, and soup. The pad Thai was okay, although I've definitely had more flavorful versions before. I asked for a side of limes and that actually helped bring out the flavor a bit more. The wonton chips were great and came with a delicious sauce on top. The soup and salad were both really tasty and flavorful. Overall, it was a good meal for a reasonable price. I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try some different items on the menu.
