Stopped by around the area and my friends who grew up around here always kept talking about how this place was the spot when they were younger Had to try it out myself and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the popcorn chicken is and boba milk tea! The boba is perfectly soft and sweet, the milk tea flavor was masked by the sweet boba but that's okay for me. The popcorn chicken is BOMB. Cooked to perfection, seasoning is great, texture, etc. Got the medium spice level and it wasn't spicy-- which is fine I can't eat super spicy anyway. When I was waiting I couldn't find any recent reviews and thought now would be the best time. The last time I saw a menu post was from 9 years ago and from comparing it to now, not much has changed. I came in the evening so I think they put the food away. Store is very clean, they have the COVID-19 stickers on the floor. My boyfriend took me here for lunch on a Wednesday because of their lunch specials. I think this place used to be a boba shop and the owners now serve Chinese fast food (3 dish combination with rice, soup, etc.) - and I guess on Wednesdays they have a special where they give you a free green tea along with your combination, soup and bowl of rice. They also seem to sell random knickknacks and stationery ... a little of everything. All in all, it definitely is a pretty cheap place to eat, especially in South El Monte where there aren't too many restaurants. They have the one dish, two dish, or three dish combination and they do change out the variety of dishes each day, I believe. I ended up getting the three item combination for about $5 or $6 which isn't bad at all as it came with a bowl of soup and a cup of green tea. I tried the eggplant, mapo tofu, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli, but I've also tried their chicken, egg and tomato, and pork knuckle as well. The dishes aren't amazing, but they aren't bad either. They definitely can be compared to the other restaurants that do this type of business except that the portions here seem to be a bit smaller. The soup was tasty, a fair amount of rice was given, and the green tea was pretty on point (a little bit on the sweet side, but it was free). Lots of people coming and going, and that does say a lot since this place isn't in the best location. A pretty big parking lot. I do feel like if you order to-go, you get more food than if you eat there. tl;dr: good place for a quick bite of fast food Chinese style. It's been a little while since I've been to E@Cup I mean I use to come here all the time when I lived closer but since I have moved for a few years now I don't really end up here anymore. But recently I came in with some of my friends to grab a green tea. You can customize your drink by telling the lady how sweet you want your tea to be. Most of the time I'm just not really into anything being sweet so I just say don't add anything extra. I like that taste of bitterness. Parking is really easy for this place. Came here to have lunch with one of my girlfriends. This place won't be seeing me after today's visit. I've never had any bad Chinese food before. I can definitely say that I have after today! Since we use to have an office nearby, this use to be my to go place because it was fast and convenient. The food here has always been decent. Depends what you order from the steam table, some items are tasty, some are bland, and most are greasy. I always order their tofu, tea eggs, string beans, and broccoli with beef. Of course their food is most fresh during its lunch hours from 11:30 to 1:00ish. Their drinks are good! The lunch specials comes with a beverage and I always get their green tea. Whenever I want some Taiwanese food and/or boba for lunch, I come here since it's not that far from where I work. Depending on the day of the week, this place can get really packed for lunch and some days are just dead. They have two options for lunch specials; two items or three items and they come with their soup of the day (usually vegetables and egg drop soup or seaweed and egg drop soup). They have plenty of different kinds to choose from, ranging from curry chicken, teriyaki chicken, beef broccoli, to even fish (it changes everyday). You get a choice of steam rice or chow mein. Their chow mein has gone down hill and isn't as good anymore. On this occasion, I decided to have white rice with eggs and tomatoes, beef and broccoli, and cold chicken with the vegetables and egg flour soup. Eggs and tomatoes are my favorite here. The eggs have a nice consistency The tomatoes aren't acidic or sour either. Beef and broccoli are usually a hit or miss. Sometimes they're right and sometimes they have too much soy sauce. This time was a hit. Cold chicken this time around was a little too salty. The soup was good. It didn't have that much oil and there were plenty of veggies and eggs in it. I randomly choose this chinese restaurant from Yelp because it demonstrates some good photos of food which arouse my appetite. I went there around 12:30 P.M.for my lunch break, and there were a lot of people waiting in line. I see customers are allowed to dine in, and it has tables outside also. All of the employees wear face masks. Since it is my first time, I ask the employee what their special is. I was told the the price for lunch specail were $7.5, $8.5, $9 for a two, three or four items plate respectively. They also have a green or black tea for $1 if you choose to buy aa three or four items plate. I finally chose a four items plate and a green tea for 10 bucks. Compared with Panda Express, their food is more Chinese style, and I think the price is relatively fair regarding to the inflation now. I may go there again for my lunch. read more

At first glance you would never recognize this small hole in the wall as a true gem. E@cup has superb customer service, the staff is really friendly and truly make you feel at home. You will even often find regulars here who have made this place a second home because they are that good. The owners are a Taiwanese couple and they are the kindest and hardest working people you can find in this area, it really reflects on the food and drinks they serve. Besides the amazing service the food here is also really good, the prices for everything made me peek at the menu to see if i ordered right. Everything is really inexpensive and delicious, how can you beat that combo for quick eats? My favorite part of this joint is their boba, it's prepared perfect. The tapioca is so much better compared to everything I've had in washington. A regular milk tea here is only $2.25, come by for a drink and some food if you're in the area. I swear there are some customers who like live here because whenever I come here on any given day and time, those same people will be sitting in the back playing video games. This place seems to be a big hangout spot for high school kids and fobs. Mediocre, there isn't anything here that isn't just ok. Had their pop corn chicken which I have been craving and it was just not poppin in taste or texture(missing basil flavor). Their Chinese fast food to go was alright too, it came with a drink or soup. Super cheap lunch and they give you TONS of food, it's pretty crazy. I can probably split their lunch boxes into 2-3 meals since I don't usually eat that much. Their food has been tasting a lot better than before, I'm guessing they switched a new chef who cooks authentic chinese food. They also provide a plethora of drinks and they range from $2.5-3, which you can't really beat at any other boba store. This is your typical taiwanese snack place in a very harsh neighborhood. I enjoy coming here since i get a feel of home style cooking. The price is not bad $5 you can get a complete meal during lunch time of your choice of 3 items rice and soup. Recently came by to try the new steak special .. and it was pretty yummy especially for such a big piece of cantonese style steak for only $10! I tried the mushroom sauce and my bf tried the black pepper sauce .. i prefer the black pepper sauce but both were yummy .. they have reallyyyyyy goood boba milk tea.. especially since i've lived in vegas for some years that all boba milk tea in so cal is AMAZING compared to vegas lol :( I would def come back for their boba :) read more
