Please add nondairy milk to the menu. It's 2022. The people have spoken and they want oat milk. They also don't offer blended drinks. The mochi donuts were amazing, which carry the 3 stars of this review. Responding to the business owners comment - I specifically asked the cashier if there were milk alternatives and she straight up said no, there is only regular milk. Finally got to try Bober Tea & Coffee this morning, and I don't mean to be dramatic, but OH MY GOD THIS WAS THE BEST MILK TEA I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Being the incredibly indecisive creature that I am, I had studied the online menu ahead of time at https://boberteafolsom.square.site/ For those who are less experienced with milk tea, I highly recommend checking out the online menu, since it has much better descriptions than the in-store menus do. Glancing over the menu, I read about something called "chizu," or homemade cheese cream. Naturally, this led to half an hour spent reading about the cultural phenomenon of chizu. Obviously, I had to try it. The stir-fried brown-sugar boba also sounded intriguing, and the creme brulee sounded amazing. Then I came across one drink that seemed to have it all: the Signature Milk Tea. From the menu: "We generously coat the cup with house-made brown sugar syrup, spoon in our warm stir-fried brown sugar boba, fill with our caffeine-rich black milk tea, top with our house-made cheese cream, then brulee'd brown sugar. **INCLUDES STIR FRIED BOBA!!** **Sweetness Level Can Not Be Adjusted**" I asked my date if he was the type to read the menu ahead of time, like me. He said, no, I would have to help him decide. He ended up ordering the cookies and cream milk tea with brown sugar boba. He was very pleased with his beverage. I was incredibly impressed with mine. It was pretty sweet, which I like. (If you don't like sweet drinks, this definitely isn't the right drink for you.) The boba was phenomenal. It was warm, and tasted exactly like it sounds: stir fried brown sugar boba. I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I think I actually saw an employee taking a dab-- wait, no, they were bruleeing my drink! Once bruleed, the drinks were plastic wrapped, which we poked through with giant straws. Worth the wait. The shop is so freaking adorable. I was so focused on my date that I forgot to take any pictures at all. I'll have to take some the next time I'm here, which will hopefully be soon. I am so excited that Bober has opened up in Folsom, as the nearest one to me prior was off of 65th street, which was a bit far. This place is stunning to the eyes, and they did a great job decorating. It is definitely a photo-op location. I ordered a chizu strawberry green tea. The tea is so flavorful and fresh, with chunks of strawberries inside. My second favorite drink is the brown sugar milk tea with fried pearl boba. If you're looking for great boba, this is definitely not the place. If you're looking for an Instagram worthy business, look no further! I took 2 sips of a stir fried boba milk tea and ended up throwing it out. It was pure sugar. I had brought down the sweetness to 75%, but since all the ordering was done through a screen (that defaults to an 18% tip after doing the work yourself), I could not be advised to do anything else. The reason I left 2 stars was because I ended up going to Natomas to meet a friend and got a plain matcha green tea with no boba that ended up being drinkable. The Mochi donut was also nothing significant as I've had much better elsewhere. The donuts are pre made and in the afternoon they looked as if they had been sitting out all day. Maybe I'm a snob for going places that make them fresh to order, but the texture was not as chewy as other Mochi donuts that I have had. Such a fun place! So pleasing to the eye. I got the pandan latte added boba (of course) it was delicious, a little sweet so if next time I can adjust the sweetness, I will. Rarely do I see pandan on drink menus. Got my mom the winter melon and that was also very good. For the mochi donuts we tried the toffee and taro. The texture of their mochi donuts is the best I've had so far. They are soft and chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside. The toffee was delicious with the added toffee pieces on top, the taro was delicious also, but I didn't think it really tasted like "taro", but nonetheless delicious. I'm a sucker for all things Mung bean, and I usually get the Ming bean cake at meet fresh in the Bay. Shoot, I even had Mung bean cake as my wedding cake! They have Mung bean pandan latte and I went for it. Went very well with their stir fried boba! Very unique drink and the boba was chewy and silky to the tongue. Highly recommend it! I'm also lactose intolerant and they have dairy free milk tea section! We did the hazelnut milk tea with crystal balls. I predicted it to be sweet so I ordered FULL SWEET! And divided it into 2 cups and added water. Wife and I had 2 full drinks with more than enough crystal balls to satisfy! The crystal balls are made from agar agar according to the cashier and has a nice chewy crunch to it. Very enjoyable. At $6+ a cup, you gots to make it worth your while! If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a mango passionfruit green tea with tapioca boba. I was told there was no passionfruit tea and I said that's okay, just mango then. When my 7 dollar drink came out, it was chunky and nothing like green tea. I tried a sip and asked the worker if he could remake it with green tea and no chunks. He said no. Went to the grand Opening, and I must say it did not disappoint! The place itself is beautifully decorated and very inviting! It's very chic and Instagram worthy! I tried the Mungo Pandan with boba pearls and it was DELISH! Not only was it PACKED with flavor, it also came with a cute orchid on top which was stuck on the lid which made it perfect to drink. The Black Pearl Boba was so soft and perfectly cooked which is so surprising because as easy as it may sound, not a lot of places get that right! They have a promotion right now For $1 Mochi Donuts every Tuesday with a purchase of any drink. I do have to say that it is more expensive than your typical boba, but they set a beautiful scene for you to enjoy as you wait in line. There is a convenience kiosk before the cash register in which you can place your order in. Only wish that when placing the order in a kiosk there could be a note section to make specific requests ( like less ice or more ice or no ice) When I ordered my drink, I asked if they were going to have a stamp card for returning customers, but I was told that it has to be a franchise decision which makes sense. Signature boba is a bit on the sweet side but offers top notch flavor for a traditional black milk tea. I think they cook the boba in a brown sugar sauce....yumm. Unfortunately, you can't alter the sweetness level on this drink...suck it up buttercup! The Jasmine milk tea with black boba you can choose the sugar level We chose 0% sugar and there was still plenty of sweetness that must come from the non-dairy creamer. I highly recommend ordering this way since it's the healthiest and quite tasty. The traditional black milk tea was also on the sweet side at 50% sweetness. I'm going to try it next time at 0% just to see if there's more than enough sweetness from the boba and the creamer. The Chizu Strawberry Green Tea is the FIRST strawberry with cheese foam drink I've had in the US that compares to the famous HEYTEA in China. I'm going to try the mango next but this is THE DRINK to get. We splurged on some mochi donuts so that my family could try it. These were a touch on the oily side but still a unique bite that you really need to try if you haven't before. It's crackkkk coffee, so if you have a high tolerance for caffeine, their coffee is for you. Aesthetically pleasing interior with some photo ops for the gram. If you haven't tried a mochi donut before it's worth a try. They're slightly more chewy than your traditional donut, which may or may not be for everyone. I'm glad there's finally a place locally where mochi donuts are available. They serve boba drinks and various milk teas as well which are excellent. Packaging of the donuts are very cute so they are gift ready straight out of the store. The customer service here was amazing. The gentlemen helping us at the counter was very friendly. The drinks were good. A lot of ice though, next time light ice for sure. I did think it was weird that the kiosk that's available to order drinks from was right next to the cash register... seems like if you have to stand in the one line to get to it, might as well pay at the counter. Dear manager, I have a question. How come we don't have an option for "no ice" ? I called and the staff said they can do less ice but there's no option for no ice. I normally want to bring my family bobas and they live far away. At other places, I can order them without ice and my family just add ice when we get there. I've been here a couple of times and always fall in love with the interior design. I think the preserved flowers really make the store different and love the design in comparison to other boba shops. The vibe here is also amazing, their customer service is one of the best! Today I tried the taro milk tea and while it's good the chizu mango green tea is probably my favorite. It contains the right sweetness with no adjustments needed and the real mango chunks are a plus. The donuts are also really yummy, it has the right amount of chew for a mochi donut and come in aesthetic holders/boxes. They rotate flavors often so there's always something new to try. So happy to have another Boba option in Folsom. This place is super trendy on the inside with a photo op chair and flashy decor. The menu has set drinks rather than a build your own flavor. They have more than just traditional boba. We grabbed the mango green tea and the strawberry green tea in the regular size as well as the to-go pineapple in the champagne bottle. We also ordered the 3 pack of the mochi donuts. We added passion fruit popping boba to each drink. The drinks also come with fresh cut up fruit in each drink. The drinks were extremely flavorful and good. The prices are a little higher than some of the other spots I have been to. The donuts had to be some of the best I have ever had. The mochi dough was light and fluffy but also had a great chew to it. We got the Ube, cookies and cream and the strawberries and cream. Can't wait to come try some of the other options. read more

The absolute worst boba tea establishment I have ever been to in my life . Went here Sunday December 18th at about 5:30pm . Walked in and was NOT greeted by the worker who behind the counter. She clearly noticed me coming in but just starred blankly at me which made me feel unwelcome and that she could care less about helping me. Ordered my expensive $9.00 drink through the complicated self service machine. While I waited for the drink I noticed their filthy floors and was absolutely appalled by the lack of care for the uncleanly establishment. Drink finally came after the waitstaff finished snap chatting with their friends. The drink was at least 85% ice so hardly any liquid. I paid more for boba and was provided with a total of 2 whole boba balls. What a rip off. I will never go back to this establishment. My picky kids and my husband and I just came here today for the first time, and loved it. The employee was super polite and efficient, informative, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. My husband was really excited about the peanut butter one and it didn't disappoint! We also got the taro, churro, matcha, and funnel. Sugar overload! The boba is stir-fried in brown sugar so you're adding sweet boba on top of an already sweet drink. Barf! The winter melon milk tea wasn't too bad. The taro latte had so much cream in it that the taro flavor was nonexistent. There are better boba places out there. read more

Where can I start? Bober is my go to boba place in Folsom hands down. It's esthetically pleasing and the drinks really hit the spot, especially in this summer heat! Need to post on your Instagram? There's also this giant display in the middle of the store and I was told that all the flowers and plants are real and that it's just dried up!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT! Customer service is great and the workers really help you with deciding a drink if you're unsure. I was told that there is three drinks that are not caffeinated (taro, mung bean, and winter melon) so if you bring your kids here and don't want them having caffeine, those are the 3 selections. I, however, love the supreme mango green tea!! It's honestly to die for. I've also had chizu strawberry green tea and when you stir it all up, IT TASTES LIKE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE OMGGG. I like that they give a lot of ice in the cup because most of the drinks are sweet but on a hot sunny day in Folsom, your ice will melt into the drink making it a perfect blend. I once asked for light ice and it just all melted so my drink was just warm and quite sweet. Be warned ,ask for light ice and your drink will not be as cold and if you're getting a drink that's really sweet, the sweetness level won't change much. Drinks here are on the pricey side compared to the other two boba shop in town. But have you been to SoCal? Bober's price is the same in SoCal. My curious self did ask them why their drinks are pricier and they said it was because they use top shelf ingredients. They're using fresh fruits for the fruit drinks and brew their teas everyday.
