This restaurant was close to where we needed to be and it was recommended by my buddy and his girlfriend for the simple need of quick and easy dining. They came here because they recently served jury duty at the courthouse in Westminster which is a few blocks away. They stated they have decent food at great prices. A quick note if you are headed east on Beach Blvd, it will be hard to make that left to get here. There menu is as simple as a burger shop can be. Generous portions are given at low prices. My party ordered several cheeseburger combo specials, a Bob's special pastrami and burger combo, a gyro, and several sides of fries, onion rings, and fried zucchini to share. Oh yeah...many sides of ranch dressing. Do you feel your arteries hardening? The food was decent and fast. I saw other people's portions of salad and it looked bigger than my head...WOW! When I first drove by this place, I was in COMPLETE AWE. If you know me at all, you would know I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the show, Bob's Burgers. It's a cartoon, but the humor is adult. I believe it's one of the best shows ever along side Parks and Rec (DUH!). So my obsession with this show, led me to wonder if there was going to be a burger of the day, a single plumber that talks non-stop, a teenage girl with an itch on her crotch, etc... I was wrong. This place has nothing to do with the show aside from its name, and maybe the fact that the food here are actually pretty good (unlike Jimmy Pesto's! (jk)). The prices here are ridiculously affordable for an abundant amount of food. I ordered zucchini fries thinking I was going to get a little 4x4 tray, but I ended up getting double that amount! I love how they throw in a few free giant onion rings. You can tell it's fresh quality food that they're serving. Bob's burgers! We went in here after passing by it many times, and said, "What if we go in and it's exactly like Bob's Burgers and you see a man that looks like Bob?" Decided to try it, and well it wasn't like the show nor a man who looked like Bob lol. I've tried the burgers, fries, onion rings, zucchini fries, gyro, and BLT sandwich. I would say that they are all pretty solid in terms of what those things should taste like. My favorite and the thing I was pretty impressed by was the gyro! It is big, lots of meat, and it is delicious!! The zucchini fries are really good too, they are cut up like fries and battered. You get huge portions! I like how they give you 3 or 4 onion rings with every order. They have a little pickled pepper and carrots station where you can take as much as you want. Carrots are so awesome! The workers here are nice, sometimes you will get someone with a bad attitude but that does not stop us from coming here when we want that junk food. Prices are pretty decent! Inside of the store is a bit old and sort of dirty sometimes but not a problem. The bathrooms could definitely use some improvement though. Used to be decent: food was good , prices were moderate. Now prices skyrocketed, food quality declined. We used to order Chicken Sandwich and it was pretty nice. Also there was a choice of pickles you could take on the side for free. Also they would add onion rings and zucchini. Now, pickles are gone and only couple of onion rings with the order. But most importantly the chicken in Chicken sandwich became so thin - I don't even know how they could cut chicken breast so paper thin. Just stay away because you'll most likely end up on empty while you wait. With that being said I highly suggest you go in. Let's just say I went through the drive thru with a little over a quarter tank and left on E. That's how slow they can be. Anyway on to the food. I go to this place strictly for the chili cheese fries. The fries are cooked to perfection which is always a plus. Although in my opinion there's tons more cheese than chili which I like. If you want a bit more consistency then I suggest driving down the street to Tommys. The employees aren't the friendliest. Came in for Friday dinner. Place is pretty dirty and staff wasn't that nice to us... What we got: Carne Asada Burrito ($6): apparently it comes with a couple pieces of onion rings! So for the burrito...you have to ask them for the salsa or any kind of sauce for the burrito. But apparently it's already inside of the burrito? First of all, drive thru is awesome! Secondly, the menu is really big! Thirdly, I have not had an item that disappointed me. This morning, I got a breakfast burrito that I didn't even see on the menu. (Under breakfast I actually didn't see any burrito listed. I could be wrong.) Breakfast burrito is piping hot, and remains hot the whole time I'm eating it. Sausage links are cut up inside, which is nice for the eater. Oh, and addition to the sausage, fluffy eggs, layer of cheese, and crispy hash brown, it comes with a good hot sauce! But always make sure you get at least two cups of their pico de gallo, too. This is really filling and satisfying burrito. Not too greasy so that it's wet to the touch at all, either! I've also had their fries and onion rings (sometimes for burgers at least they just throw some free onion rings in the bag!) Which are tasty. Burgers can be stacked high and are really tasty, with good and plentiful meat. And the carne asada taco!!!! Get this! The food is average but they make it when you order it, thats gotta count! That means its FRESH!!! And if it's that bad to some of you all, then don't come back! Aside from the burgers, the menu also included salads, sandwiches, gyros and more. I ordered a cheeseburger, side of zucchini fries and a diet soda. I got a lot of food!! The burger was stacked and the zucchini fries were plentiful! I ate my fill and still had quite a bit leftover. I returned to Bob's (for the 2nd time) last weekend along with a few friends. We ordered burgers and a gyro along with sides of onion rings, fries and zucchini fries served with ranch dressing. Like the first time I was here, the portions were very generous. Everyone was full and satisfied with their order. And we still had leftovers! Ordering one side is probably enough to share between 2 people (or more). Tasty greasy burgers and fried foods! This is your classic hole in the wall burger spot family owned and you can taste it in their bacon avocado cheeseburger. Fires were freshly made and crispy on the outside and soft and hot in the center. Their ranch is thick and has good flavor. When I'm not craving a specific burger from a chain burger joint, I'll go across the street and come here. I usually just get a cheeseburger or hamburger, and it's enough for me. Their burgers are really big, and tastes legit. It doesn't taste like a burger from MCD. I also love the zucchini fries but hate that it's significantly more expensive than regular fries. This is only because I can't finish the bag of zucchini so the price isn't worth it for me. I eat about 1/3 of the bag before i get full, very wasteful for a person like myself. Now this is a great little burger diner. To start, the food is inexpensive. I ordered the burger special for $4.99 + tax. The service was friendly. There are free yellow peppers and pickled carrots. When the food came out it was nice to see some onion rings and even fried zucchini in the mix of fries. The burger itself uses a thin well seasoned patty with a great sauce, tons of lettuce and a tomato. It's a very good burger and the sauce is part of what makes it tasty. It was a filling meal for me. I couldn't finish my fries. I really like that they mixed it up with the onion rings and zucchini because I like to order those things once in a while but I get bored of them quickly so I'll usually get fries. Best friend chicken in OC! I love Bob's, I've been going here for nearly 15 years ever since I was a kid and it hasn't changed one bit. The food is made it order so you really get that local diner feel. I'ts fast food but its so much better then other burger joints like burger king or Mcdonalds. I would classify it more of a walk up counter diner then a fast food restaurant. They have a big menu of different types of food to choose from from burgers, gyros, tacos, and fried chicken. Whenever I come here I always get either a burger or fried chicken. So lets talk about that. -The burgers here are awesome, big portions, made to order, hot off the grille. They're juicy and full of flavor and you can get it anyway you want. I like the basic cheese burger but if I want to get messy I go with the chili burger. -The fried chicken here has to be one of the best i've had in OC. Its fried on the spot so it comes out steaming hot on a huge plate full of fries, fried zucchini, a toasted dinner roll, and onion rings. The skin is light and crispy with just a touch of sweet honey flavor. Each bite is like tasting a piece of juicy heaven! As for everything else, the decor is not much to look at but it's clean. The staff is nice and service is quick. Overall, if you live near westminster then this is definitely a regular spot for you. I stopped here out of desperation and ordered a chicken burrito. Literally the only ingredients were tortilla, chicken, cheese, and just enough salsa water to drip all over my clothes without me noticing before it was too late. The addition of three completely smashed and old onion rings was a perfect example of the idiom about the path to hell being paved with good intentions. People, oh for crying out loud, quit with the Covid paranoia (see previous poster). Probably came up in the drive thru wearing a mask thinking that would offer protection. Seeing people driving around wearing a mask while alone in a car is both irrational and getting old. Pick up food here and you will not get sick from Covid and you will not die. Period. Now, onto the restaurant. If you order the salads, watch out! They are HUGE! Take the salad and nothing else. They come in edible bowls. They are great, but don't order them with a burger unless you plan on cutting the burger in half and sharing it and the salad with somebody. Burgers are great! Among the best around. Westminster has few competitors. Maybe Habit Grill could put up a fight, but I don't think it would win. The only complaint I have is this place to my knowledge does not have a website with a full on menu. If you are ordering for others as well as yourself and you need to get what they want from them at home, you have to rely on posted photos of their menu. But those can be found. read more
