Amazing! Our first visit to Bob's Diner - Carnegie since moving here in January 2026. I love the little non-national chain restaurants and Bob's was terrific. Sam was our server and she was open, engaging and very knowledgeable about the many choices on the menu. Dining area and bathroom were clean and uncluttered. We both had the biscuits and sausage gravy with home fries (and added onions and peppers although not really needed). The gravy actually had visible sausage and the gravy savory. The whole dish was seasoned just right although I added a little Frank's because, well it's Franks! I also made a menu suggestion for a redneck Benedict with biscuits, patty sausage, the sausage gravy and two eggs any style. Sam! I forgot to mention adding a sprinkle of shredded cheddar. The redneck bennie will change. Your. Life! Needless to say, not only will we be back, we've found our go-to spot! read more

Great service, but the food is lacking in my opinion and the breakfast portions are small. Have mostly come here for breakfast so my review is based on that. I really like the Claire's veggie benny.. just wish there was more of it. My daughter ordered the strawberry crunch french toast- fun idea and it was good in small doses, but a lighter, simpler version would be better. Extremely greasy/ buttery and they added a bunch of red food coloring to the cream cheese filling to make it pink, which i think was really unnecessary. What I don't understand is when you get soup in the restaurant you get a decent size bowl, When you get that soup to go the size of the take out container is an absolute joke! I got the double dads. 3 eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes and 2 pancakes. I paid an up charge for blueberry pancakes. Everything was good except the pancakes that were hard and black. I ate a few bites and had enough. The waitress asked me if I wanted a box. I said I did not and asked that she tell the cook to turn down the grill. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Place is very clean. Was looking forward to my pancakes but was severely let down. I'll give it another try because everything else was good. I ordered take out from Bob's Diner in Kennedy township yesterday & was in heavennnn while devouring the omelet! It's soo delicious and juicy and a decent size too! Every time I go into Bob's Diner, the staff is always doing a wonderful job. They're super friendly there and will always take great care of you! The hash browns are also suuuuper yummy! They've got a nice crunch to them that I love! Bob's Diner is always going to be a forever favorite of mine, especially since it's in the heart of my hometown. Great and cozy diner off the beaten path! I've driven past Bob's for many years and never thought to try it. So many missed opportunities! Visited on a rainy Saturday morning and enjoyed some hot coffee and quick service in addition to the food itself. Their prices are extremely reasonable and I opted for the Triple B (Bob's Bountiful Breakfast), which came with eggs, potatoes (choice of hash browns or home fries), and choice of meat and toast. The portions were hearty and the spicy italian sausage was WONDERFUL. It feels like the perfect neighborhood spot, and it was full of customers during the entirety of our visit. I bought dessert that I didn't want , because I had been guilt tripped by the server . she said her rent was due and she needs the $50 as a win. I can't really believe someone has a low rent of $50 . First time here and it was delicious! I don't know how anyone could think their portions were tiny. They were perfect! I got eggs, bacon, sausage, one pancake and hash browns for like $10! I can't remember the name of it only what it included. My SO got the breakfast burrito and it was a good size and he loved it! Everything is home made. And you can definitely taste the difference. The eggs were buttery and creamy, the bread locally sourced and I got some wedding soup to go. Packed with flavor!!! The staff was amazing! Very nice, prompt and down to earth. From the outside you wouldn't expect such a gem. Once you're inside it's a really neat experience. Not too loud and it gave a homey vibe where you can tell they have tons of regulars. We live like an hour away and will absolutely be returning soon! Can't wait to try more menu items. Maybe something beyond breakfast. read more

Just a quick review, here. This place is always PACKED, as in good luck with finding a parking spot in the 15136 zip code. For all that, the best I can say after at least 3 visits is that the food is okay. Breakfast...is standard breakfast fare for the most part. It's pretty hard for even a mediocre cook to screw up eggs and bacon. So, I mean, fine, but nothing to die for. Had lunch once, open meatloaf sandwich with mashed, and again, it was...fine. Bob's is like an old reliable. You can always count that the food will be good. Service is hit or miss, but they don't lack friendliness here. Matt and I had to take his car in for repairs and we found ourselves in Kennedy on a Saturday morning. Since there's so much flip flop right now with the ability to eat inside, we were fortunate to be one of the 25 that were allowed to be in Bobs at any one time. They also have curbside pickup. (as of 7/18/20) Matt got the mixed grill, and a side of corn beef hash and my suggestion. He inhaled it, of course. Everything was fresh and on our table in just a few minutes. I got my fave, corn beef hash, eggs, home fries and toast. After two cups of coffee and an amazing breakfast we were ready to take on the day. Only drawback this time was our server was not attentive at all. Matt was out of water and she never came back to see how our meals were. Go here and enjoy the good food anyway. While this is a local chain type restaurant. I had perfect service and delicious food at this location. Nikki our server was great and we both ordered the lunch special, a ruban and chips. I also had the stuffed pepper soup and it was delicious. The soup especially is exactly what in my opinion all stuffed pepper soup should be...like you were eating a deconstructed stuffed pepper. A gem of a diner across the boulevard from the Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox Churches. The cashier seated us in the booth my picky-seat husband asked for, cheerfully wiping it down for us, as it hadn't yet been bussed. Our waitress, Samantha, promptly took our drink order and gave us just enough time to decide on what we wanted to eat (breakfast) when she came back for the food order. I got Bob's Bountiful Breakfast and my hubby got Dad's Favorite. Our breakfasts arrived hot, accurate and both sets of eggs intact. We also decided to take a "Bobarino" home with us. SHRINKFLATION COMES TO BOB'S KENNEDY LOCATION. While Bob's breakfast offerings are quite tasty, sadly they have downsized their offerings. Today I was served the smallest omelet I've ever been served. Just months ago they were quite big. This looked like an omelet you'd get at fat camp. Just months ago the ham was like your mother's Easter ham. Now it is little tiny pieces of processed ham obviously poured from a bag. Even the breakfast links have shrunk. Now they charge an extra dollar if you want large toast. The one thing that hasn't gotten smaller is the price. For years this was my favorite breakfast place. Not so much now. Great servers, nice atmosphere, and clean. But I'll be limiting my dollars spent at Bob's at this point. read more

I stopped in Bob's Diner on a Sunday evening around 12:30pm wanting to grab a late breakfast. The place was packed. We had to wait for a table for about 10 minutes- once we were seated at a table. It took the wait staff about 5 minutes to clean the table from the last customers. The waitress warned us that our food would take a long time. We figured it would be longer than normal, but we were fine with waiting. We ended up waiting 55 minutes to get our food once we were seated. It was awful. There weren't even a lot of other customers. We ordered the blueberry pancakes to share & a bacon, mushroom & cheese omelette. Unfortunately, the food wasn't the best. It was awful. But it was not worth waiting 55 minutes. I'm disappointed because I love the Bob's Donut Shop in the McKees Rocks. I won't be going back any time soon. read more

This is a nice, traditional diner in an unusual strip mall with a vast parking lot and only a few stores. I came in for breakfast and sat at the counter. The counter is really nice to sit at because the kitchen is right behind it, so you can watch the cook preparing meals while you wait for your food. There are also tables on the side and in the back. Service was as real friendly and quick. I had a basic egg breakfast. The eggs were prepared fine and the sausage links were a little bigger than average.
