I don't know if the pizza is good here as you don't get to taste it fresh out of the oven. Here the pizza is cooked and then it sits there to get cold. If you order a slice they heat it up for ya. Maybe they give you a fresh hot pizza if you order a whole giant whopping thing that costs too much. The rest of us, that aren't feeding a family, essentially get what feels like leftovers. Just great. It took them quite a while to heat up the couple of slices we ordered - we waited about the same time you normally wait for getting a new, fresh pizza. In my opinion, the way they do it here is not good. Warmed-up pizza, like French fries, is never as good the second time around. The pizza was mediocre and overpriced. AND not enough cheese. Bob's serves some of the best pizza I've tried on the island. We try to stop at this little gem whenever we visit the beach here. The crust... that crust! I lived in N.Y.for almost a decade and dare I say I like Bob's crust better? Don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for N.Y.style pizza crust, but at the end of the day, I prefer a thinner, crispier crust, and Bob's hits that sweet spot for me. We've come to Bobs for pizza and calzone twice during our local stay, for a reason. Great food! The pizza crust is thin and crispy, my favorite. The calzone is nicely done and the dough has a great texture. We've had the garlic, tomato, spinach pizza and the sausage pepperoni. Each equally delicious. For calzones we've had garlic and spinach, and ham and pepperoni. Very satisfying and filling! The pizza slice is large and can be shared if your appetite is less than ravenous, otherwise enjoy the whole slice on your own! If they don't have the beverage of your choice you can pop in to the general store next door. read more

Bob's is my favorite pizza place in Hawaii---its too bad I don't live in Kailua! The pizza is huge (only sells one size pizza) and enough for three to eat comfortably. He sells them by the slice too (1/4 a pizza) which should be enough to satisfy your after beach pizza cravings. The selection of toppings is good, the quality of ingredients is great, and the crust comes out perfectly crispy and soft---just like a good pizza should. This pizza, though similar in style, by far surpasses Boston's and Antonio's in quality, and Bob's blows them away when it comes to service and personality! read more

We ate half for lunch and the other half later at Lanikai beach! The service was VERY friendly and nice! We will definitely go back when we visit Hawaii again! Pretty solid pizza here. The crust was cripsy, sauce tasty, service good. Only beef I have with this place is that the ingredients weren't fresh and definitely were sparse. For 6 dollars a slice, I expected more ingredients. It would have been nice if the pizza was fresh. What they do is premake the pizza, allow you to add extra toppings, and refire the pizza in the oven. Other than that, I'd probably be back if I ever came back to Kailua. read more

Pizza was "ok" at best. It did the trick after a long day of traveling. We spent a good amount of money there only because there was a lot of us. Only thing that bothered me, which I didn't find out til after we got back to the hotel was the cook in the back would constantly talk crap to my 15yr old boy for wearing a tshirt that said "I Heart hot moms". Telling him to cover up his shirt when he'd walk in to refill his soda. The shirt is NOT offensive, and he needs to keep his damn mouth shut and mind his business. Bad words or offensive words I get it, but even then, we're paying for their subpar food service. you have no say in it. It's a novelty tshirt, take it for what it is..... had I heard him, it would have been a whole different story and we woulda had some words.... Lucky I didn't. So to the owners, tell your employees to keep their mouths shut and to mind their business unless it pertains to them directly..... for that, and the slummy pizza 1 star. read more

Solid East Coast style Pizza (the difference between NY & Boston is that NY has the garlic & oregano in the sauce whereas in Boston its served on the side so that you can add it to taste... I imagine it has something to do with the Irish & Brahman majorities not been keen on strong flavors). If you live in Hawaii... this is a GREAT place... it has to be some of the best pizza on the island. If you are a tourist coming to Hawaii lets set the expecation... I wouldn't go out of my way for Bob's you will be underwhelmed... stick to a Poke place. Finally... Bob seems like a great all around guy... and yes he is a good magician... THE GOOD: They keep it simple and do a good job at making Pizza THE BAD: No inside seating, its kinda like take out. On the other hand its Hawaii. THE LOWDOWN: Another great recommendation from Malia on our trip. To me the crust really sets the stage for good pizza and the rest usually falls in line. We got a large pizza, and it really was large! The crust held up, didn't get soggy or go limp on us, the ingredients were good, my wife didn't like the pepperoni a whole lot but besides that everything was good. We got Mushrooms, Olives & Pepperoni, it wasn't too greasy either. I must admit that it is better pizza that about 85% of the pizza we have had up here in the Seattle area. It's advertised as Boston Pizza, and coming from Boston, I would say they are not too far off the mark. Honestly, what is Boston Pizza? I feel that New York, Chicago, and Boston all claim that they have specific pizza... and I guess New York and Chicago do. Chicago deep dish and New York HUGE slices... I've been in Boston for 6 years and don't know nor care to figure out all the subtleties. Whatever this pizza is it was damn good. For $6 and change you get a "slice" of pizza. The slice is a "pie" and it's cut up into two slices. So two generous slices are 6 and change. We got the spinach and garlic white pizza which I absolutely loved as well the mushroom pepperoni and olive pizza, also quite delicious. With two cans of guava we paid about $16 for a delicious meal and that's all I needed to make me happy. If you are the kayak place and tired and wanting a good meal, come here. There's nothing like getting out on the open road to get those creative juices flowing again. I had a 350 mile day yesterday including stops in Redwood City, Salinas, Seaside, and Visalia. By far the best (or worst) part of the trip was the segment from San Lucas (just south of King City) to Visalia on Rt 198. O! M! G! I lost cell service within a mile of the highway and then it was just a two lane white knuckle roller coaster ride for 60 miles through some of the most gorgeous scenery that I have ever seen. I'd recommend that you never take this road if you can avoid it. Anyway, I took Smokin Hot Nancy and the twerps to Hawaii a while back. It was great. We had a lot of fun, saw some great stuff like the zoo and the aquarium, went to the beach a couple of times, went to Ala Moana, and Nancy and the Squirt took a helicopter ride. Seems like there was something else.....just can't seem to remember....well, must not have been that important. So we stay in Kailua, which was nice. Rented a house, used the kitchen a lot to save time and money. But with the creeps, er kids, sometimes we just take the easy way out. Which of course means pizza. So where to go? Well, I jump on Yelp and see the posting for Bob's, and some guys writes that he's from NY and he thinks this is the best pie he's had. Good enough for me, we check it out. Great pie. Huge! Thin crust, tasty sauce. And what toppings did I have? You know: Pepperoni of course. What, you though I was going to have hawaiian? Come on. I was eating fresh pineapple three times a day. Why would I ruin a good pizza? Nancy and the twerps had the hawaiian. Whatever toppings you have, they'll be good. I give it four pies. Check it out. read more

It's absolutely crazy that I've been driving by this place for years, and didn't ever stop to grab a slice! They're right next to island snow and the area is usually jammed up with tourists. I normally turn my nose up at places that appear to be over-run. My gf brought me over since she already knew how good the pizza was here. Surprisingly we were able to find parking right away. Walked right in and ordered. No line on a Saturday! Wow! This place basically has a store front, and no seating inside. They do however have a nice shaded lanai out front with plenty of seating. One downside... THE BIRDS. There are lots of giant, aggressive birds just waiting to feast on your crumbs. If you don't like birds, take your food to go! If you dine-in, please DON'T BE A PUTZ AND FEED THE BIRDS! The pizza is quit good here. It's just like Boston's where they'll have a bunch of pies out in a display case. You choose your slice (they actually give you 2 pretty substantial slices) and they warm it up for you. The taste is also pretty similar to Boston's, except their crust is crispier and a little less doughy. They're basically the Boston's of the Windward side! While the pizza was good, I had a garlic, mushroom, spinach calzone that was AWESOME! An ample serving of cheese and garlic stuffed into a pillowy pocket. Definitely my favorite selection of my visit. All in all they're quick, convenient, tasty, and inexpensive! Next time i'm beach-bound I'll definitely stop in for a pie! read more

Moneyball: spinach and garlic pizza! Makes: good pizza, tastes just like Boston's. Misses: parking can be tough on weekends as the shopping center gets very busy especially with the Kayak rentals.. Slices are big but not cheap. Food tried: spinach and garlic is #1. Pepperoni is good too, not overly oily or cheesy, just right. Pepperoni and sausage. The pizzas are thin so there's no overwhelming amount if dough or cheese, but a nice balance with a sweet tomato sauce. read more

I know I probably won't find pizza like the pizza in NY but I'll continue to try. This place is cool, right by the beach and in the evenings there will be people just kinda hanging. It's a take out joint with seats right out front. My husband and I have had the pizza a few times. The slices come double sized and double priced. You pay about 5 bucks I think for a slice the size of two. The pizza here is pretty alright. The crust is kinda a thin crush and not very crispy. I would recommend the slices with a bunch of toppings here. Back home I can never decide if I want just a plain slice and enjoy the delicious simplicity of good dough, fresh mozzarella and savory sauce or switch it up with different toppings. Here I've had the plain slice, their mushroom slice, the pepperoni and sausage slice and their Bob's special slice with a bunch of stuff... The plain slice and the mushroom slices were kinda bland but the special and the meat slices were a lot better. Definitely still searching for a really good slice.
