Great place in Hudson. We were passing through and wanted a good breakfast, saw this diner with a real "old school" feel and came by. It was awesome, our omelets were full and beautiful, the hashbrowns were perfect, and the staff was so friendly. Wish we lived in the area to get to come back!

Pastrami Rueben,Mac salad,Cole slaw, pickle and a root beer soda. Yum yum

Food always taste great wonderful service fast and friendly. Your typical diner atmosphere with booths and counter service Clean and bright.

There's not a lot to say about Bob's. It's exactly what it sets out to be, a cheap, old-fashioned classic hometown diner serving up the basics. And it does it exceptionally well. The prices are very reasonable. The food good old fashion American diner fare. What really made this place shine to a five star review was the service. I wish I could remember our server's name. Young woman; unusual name. But she was quick and attentive and did the one thing that even servers in 4 dollar sigh NYC restaurants never do; she asked my husband if his bacon was cooked soft enough. It was. And he almost never gets it right, and never has a server until now asked if it was cooked right. That alone made the meal. Bob's also is great with Covid protocol and socially distanced tables.

The food is exceptional along with the waitress and the prices are reasonable.

The food is exceptional along with the waitress. Good food at a reasonable price. My wife and I live in Cairo NY and visit Bob's restaurant at least 3 times a week.

If you're looking for a cheap, great quality breakfast spot, this is the one. This is a great place to bring family and friends. My partner and I are regulars here and enjoy coming every Monday morning. We have always enjoyed their breakfast options. We always order quite a bit since the prices are so great! Coffee is great too! We love the service and the waitresses are extremely polite, friendly, and are always coming around to make sure our coffees are refilled. We appreciate the staff who does a great job in keeping the place clean, cheap prices and most importantly a great atmosphere to be in.

    A delightful breakfast at Bob's

As a consulting engineer I'm on the road a lot and Bob's is exactly the diner experience I'm seeking. Jessica and Namashia are wonderful.

The shop offers everything you want or need: comfy seating, warm environs, genuinely friendly and attentive service, delicious from-scratch foods and beverages, and good prices. Incredibly bummed, especially seeing all the positive press around the quality and the sourcing…read morethey claim to approach business with, that quite a lot of the food being served was from SYSCO or another large similar restaurant supply vendor, ordered by the case and baked from frozen. Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

We started with their signature focaccia, fresh out of the oven. Then, a seasonal Asparagus Tarte that was very much a deconstructed version: a delicious butter crust at the bottom of the plate, frisée lettuce, perfectly prepared asparagus topped with a pecorino creme vinaigrette. The perfect spring dish. Next was a Tuna crudo with ramp oil, watermelon radishes, fresh microgreens and toasted hazelnuts. Finally, their take on a Frisée aux Lardons, served with pickled figs. The lardons themselves were nicely crisped, and very satisfying. We had Negronis for cocktails, and a generous carafe of rose, served off the tap. All around one of the best meals I've had. Can't wait for the next menu that Chef Jeffrey Gimmel puts together. Apparently this is a monthly series, so keep a look out and don't miss the June dinner, guessing end of June on a Saturday night?

My family felt a bagel would make a great mid-morning breakfast/early lunch option, so we gave Hudson Bagels a try. Each of us was quite pleased with our experience! The fella that greeted us upon entering was nice and helpful in guiding our selections. The bagels were fresh and as good as any NYC bagel I have ever eaten. My family and I couldn't have been happier with our visit. The only downside was the limited amount of indoor seating available, but that's not a complaint--rather, just something to know if you're planning of stopping in for a bagel. If the weather is cold, the outdoor seating isn't likely an option. I highly recommend Hudson Bagels! If I ever make it back to Hudson, I'll visit this shop again! :-)

One thing I noticed about these bagels is that there's a lot of seasoning on them. All the bagels in the display seemed heavily seasoned--whether it was everything, garlic, onion, or whatever, they were covered in it. The bagel itself wasn't bad. I've had worse down in the city, so I was pleasantly surprised. Not as much chew as I'd like, but still tasty.

The lighting was a little odd but it is a cute concept. It's a renovated bank building so lots high ceilings and marble floors. It's technically two businesses: a sit down restaurant with European fare and a cafe full of flaky pastries and all the bon bons you've ever wanted. We did a little of both. We ordered a cocktail and bergamot soda at the restaurant (both of which were quite refreshing!) along with a steak frites that we shared. The fries were more like wedges which I liked and it also came with roasted carrots. Then, for dessert we popped over to the cafe for the brown butter bourbon and rye chocolate chip cookie! What a delight! So many flavors that I love packed into a dense cookie. YUM! Overall, Banque is a nice stop for some elevated dishes and treats in Hudson. Cocktail and bergamot soda

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.
