We received a post card from Bob in the mail and it reminded us we needed our septic system pumped. When the guys came over they noticed the septic needed repair. They have us a quote and we didn't shop around, because they were so efficient and reliable. We had them proceed with the repair. While doing the repair they realized the damage wasn't as bad as they initially thought .....so they readjusted the quote. I was very impressed with the integrity and honesty. Bob's Septic Service came to inspect our tank yesterday. The company who came to pump it showed me various problems including a hole in the wall and broken pipes !! I called Bob's on their recommendation and today they completed the work. Having just gone through a two year remodel which went horribly wrong, Bob's guys were amazing. They have done five star work, cleaned up, were careful with our new paved driveway and most of all were exceptionally polite. I absolutely cannot rate them high enough. I award them 10 stars!! Pumping quoted at 400, spent almost 600 trying find the tank. Then they said that all the lines in the leach field had failed and quoted another SIX THOUSAND to add 200' (and to, strangely, tie into the "bad" leach lines). I had another contractor come in and re-check, he found that most of the lines WERE viable and cut my bill by almost $3500. I will not be using this company again. read more

I called around the area for the prices to have my septic tank pumped. After several calls from other septic service companies I called Bob's. Laura answered and quoted me the lowest prices . $350.00 for pumping. $50.00 for locating and $50.00 per hour for digging. $100.00 for certificate. The lowest of all my quotes. She told me they work with Mckenna septic service. I made the appointment to have the work done. The men that came to locate and dig were very friendly. They got the job done in an hour. The man that came to pump and inspect was also very friendly. He was also from Mckenna. He gave me the receipt for the work done but the prices were higher than was I was quoted. I talked to Laura on the phone to dispute the charges . She was friendly but indifferent. It did not seem like she heard my complaint. She just kept asking for the payment. I paid the bill. I just felt deceived by this company. The work was done by Mckenna so I will give them a high rating. However I can't say the same thing for Bob's due to deceptive practices. The pump charge is $400, The digging fee is $100 per hour. $50.00 to locate. If you call for a quote get it in writing. You can't let your guard down anymore even in the small town. There are people that will take advantage of you. I don't know if Laura works for McKenna and Bob's but she needs to be counseled about giving honest quotes. I just hate being lied to. read more

We thought our septic waste was leaking and flowing down to the neighbor's driveway (um, 911/freak out/OMG - brown, murky water!). We called Bob's Septic first thing Monday AM and by lunch he was on-site meeting my husband. He investigated the situation, stuck his finger in the water and sniffed it (so he's also brave!), and determined nothing was wrong - the "brown" water flowing was from iron in the earth (after all the recent rainfall). Clearly a relief/best scenario for us, and kudos to Bob's Septic for rushing out to assess!! They also serviced our system and made necessary repairs while we were in escrow (we were the buyers), and got everything finished quickly so as not to delay that process. I highly recommend this business. They have exceptional customer service, and all the work completed was outstanding and done in a timely and professional manner. Dave came out a few weeks ago to clean out the septic tank, and during his visual examination, showed me parts of the septic system that needed repair. He was very friendly and knowlegeable about septic tank issues. I requested that Bob (owner) come out and give us a free inspection with recommendations. Bob gave us a thorough analysis which required installing 3 crossovers, removing existing concrete risers and intalling new ones with lids, forming and re-pouring the divider wall, and spraying and patching ithe interior of the tank. Brad and Julian came out this week to complete all the work. They were very professional and did exceptional work. They went above and beyond the work that was agreed upon in the contract and completely leveled out the entire section of yard above the septic system, which was previously at an incline. We live in Leucadia and had the horrible experience of our seepage pit failing, which is connected to the septic tank (yes, we are on septic in Leucadia, the city for some unknown reason has not brought sewer to our lands!) After interviewing several contractors we chose to go with Bob, and what a good decision this was. Bob took my phone calls, walked me through the process, and even pumped my pit for no charge during the ordeal. It's an obscure field of expertise and Bob is the expert in North San Diego county. So after all this time Bob himself calls me. We have a frank discussion about how hard it can be to get the right employees or trust the people you recommend. I tell him I understand this from my own lifes experience but he is responsible that there is no more of a sacred act than a consumer inviting someone to do work at their home. He offers to pay me back 100% to take th ereview down I tell him my experience was so bad I am hesitant to take the review down, he does business under so many names. But I promised I would think about it. I slept on this for 2 nights and discussed it several times over with my spouse and decide that Bob is trying to do the right thing and so should we and frankly we could use the money back. So I write him a note saying OK lets wipe this clean... 2 days later I get a response asking if we can split the cost in half, it went from a full refund I want to make this right to half..... Please see my last update to understand how dumb I am, I gave him a 3rd chance accepted his offer and same as every other experience with Bob they can't do, follow up or execute a single thing they say they will. The review will stay forever regardless of any refund or offer. Our septic tank stopped working. Called a company to have it pumped, which they did. It was up to the top. They said they only pumped, no repair work. They said to call Bob's Septic, which I did. Bob came out with someone who ran a camera through the lines. Then he came out with a couple of guys who dug down to the distribution box. He said it was in good order. They ran a high-pressure water hose through the line from the tank to the box and clear it out. Everything works perfectly now. Cost for both visits and all work was $700. It's a small once-in-a-great-while price to pay to have the system working perfectly. Bob was efficient, friendly, and fair. I was glad to have called him. read more

I'd been struggling for a month to get the answer to why the septic system wasn't working. Bob was recommended. He came the next morning. He asked when the system was last worked on so he could call the county to get the records. Since I had the permit from 1980 he studied the schematic, put down a probe, analyzed the problem in under an hour, and the next working day had his crew here.
