About a month ago, I had a bad experience with one of the staff at this location. I left my phone number for the owner so I could tell her what happened. She called me the next morning and we had an awesome conversation. She was very sweet and to the point. She apologized and assured me she would work on the issue at hand and told me that my next pizza was on her. The next time I went in, these were waiting for me. I'm so impressed by Julie's kindness! I picked up an ex large combo pizza for Christmas Day with salad and it was the best pizza ever, no more take out from other pizza places, cook in your oven and nice and hot, versus picking up getting home and having the pizza only luke warm. I was looking for pizza in town and found this place. A lot of people had eaten there and reviewed it. Yelp seemed to like it. I decided to go there before watching a movie at home. The price was reasonable as I got a large 5 topping all meat pizza we with a soda and cookie dough for $20. Tonight, a Friday night, I called your restaurant to order a Mediterranean pizza, I was told that you, "Mr. Bob" from Bob's take-n-bake did not want to pay for employees to stay past the closing time so we could not order the pizza we wanted. I have NEVER heard of a restaurant to stop serving a menu item because its a half an hour before closing time. By trying to save money on employees staying late, you in all actuality you are losing money because we can't order what we want. We did chose something different but only because my brother wanted pizza from there and its the closest pizza place. We showed up to pick up our pizza and discussed our disappointment with an employee while 6 other employees stood around gawking and gossiping about our dismay, probably family members. The employees were in such a hurry to close the place that the lights went out the second we touched the door to leave. What bothers me the most is the fact that you have a great product and absolutely no customer service to back it up. Its as if the customer is an irritation because your restaurant can't figure out a way to make pizza sauce and serve items efficiently enough so you just say no to a customer in order to close your doors at 8:30 or 8:45 on a Friday night. Who does this?! No one! I have a business myself and customers are always first. I would do whatever it takes to make sure my business is efficient and my customers can order what they want up until the service time ends which is closing time. You will be losing a lot of business and possibly your whole business if you can't figure this out. I will gladly take my business elsewhere to save you the irritation and help your employees get out the door quicker. read more

Bob's is legit. Since I don't eat pizza that much these days due to my food allergies I am very limited to what I can eat. So cut to the chase, they offer pesto as a sauce which is what I need to have as an alternate sauce on my pies. They also have a sourdough crust as an optional crust for a $1 more which is pretty cool since you don't see available at many pizzerias period. I am a big fan of Bob's take n bake! read more

Yes you have to take it home and bake it yourself but it is worth it! By far the best pizza in Modesto. They use high quality, fresh ingredients. Nothing like the chain take n bake place( you know the one). Locally family owned and operated = friendly, fast and helpful service. You can't eat there of course but who cares? This pizza rocks!The crust is tasty and crisp. You can sub whole wheat or sourdough crust too if you like. Their prices cannot be beat either, $14.49 for a large combo loaded w/ toppings and you can trade in whatever you like/don't like. Make sure you call in your order, fire up the oven and then go pick up your pizza. Oh, and go for the breadsticks even if you don't think you need them. You will be so glad you did! Bob's lingo info. Loved this place, always got great take and bake pizza here. Sadly after the mishap that happened with ordering over the phone we won't be ordering here again. Placed my order and must've bugged the staff member because I mentioned the person picking up was heading over in about 20 mins. She corrected me and said 30 mins since Friday's are always busy, that's' fine we're not fussy. But we get there (25 mins later) and they are clearly pissed off at us because of an unintended slight, they would not acknowledge us, the pizza isn't being made and we wait another 25 mins. This is my favorite pizza hands down! I recommend the sourdough crust option and have never gotten a pizza that wasn't absolutely delicious. Some family favorites are the Hawaiian with added jalapeños and the hamburger pizza. We always go with a pepperoni and the combo is piled high with toppings! So good! read more

Their pizza is great, however, the customer service of staff and wait time for pizza (even when calling in ahead) are both horrible. I've only gone 3 times, each time hoping for better experience. Made a trip there yesterday and was by far the worst trip. They charged us incorrectly and told us 25 min for our pizza via phone order only for it to be ready an additional 35 minutes later, and....no apology from staff! I was really looking forward to trying this take and bake pizza. Went in today, read the specials board, read the pizza list and ingredients to choose from. I thought the chicken bacon mushroom pizza with garlic ranch sauce sounded great! Ordered that one. I was greeted fairly quickly and they said tell us when you're ready. That's cool. They were busy. I walked up and one girl looked up right away and took my order. Pizza was made in less than the 10 minute time they said. I've made many pizzas at home and I made this one very well. I thought at first there was way too many mushrooms right off. The pizza smelled pretty good before I cooked it. It still smelled good after it was cooked. They had used some kind of sprinkle on top that ended up tasting like fake Parmesan cheese mixed with flour in my opinion. It left a dry almost gritty texture in my mouth. I liked the garlic ranch sauce, but I didn't notice the chicken. But the main thing I didn't like was the dough. I've made better pizzas with the fresh dough from Safeway even. But nothing compares to home made fresh dough. Even for fast get it now kind of pizza, I don't see the hype. I'd like to think other styles are better than one of their specials, but with that dough, I know I wouldn't like it if only for that reason. The service brought the two stars up from one. read more

After trying 3 local pizza shops with not much satisfaction....we decided to try this place after visiting the yogurt shop nearby! I was so excited to dig into some great pizza , but not tonight. This pizza isn't any better then frozen pizza. The crust and sauce is the same as a frozen pizza from the grocery store! This establishment is located in the charming Roseburg Square and has been a modesto gem for a very long time. Not only is their pizza good, it is comparable to the much less quality of take and bake chain, Papa Murphys. There are a few pizzas I don't care for, but it's a topping preference, really. The best pizza in Modesto hands down. People argue with me about this all of the time until we have them over for Bob's. We often get the combination and have no problem finishing it. My wife and I consider it our guilty pleasure because it is a good size pizza for the price and it tastes so good we can't stop eating until it's gone.
