I called AAA for a tow at 12:17. The original estimate was no later than 1:40. I got a text at 1:08 informing me the tow was expected to arrive at 2:10. I called at 2:15 asking for an update, heard "any minute now". Okay, I wait. I called again at 2:40, and the automated voice told me my updated ETA was 3:49. At that point I'll have been stranded in the parking lot for 4 hours. I speak to the representative and she said she'd reach out to the company or request another driver, and they could call me directly. Not even 5 min after I hung up, I saw a Bob's tow truck pull into the parking lot and turn towards the other side. I walked over, didn't see the truck, ended up walking behind the shopping center building to see a pickup AND the flatbed, parked. They weren't talking to each other, doing nothing but just sitting in their car / standing around it, dicking off and clearly with no sense of urgency to help their customer. Clearly taking advantage of the extra "hour" they had to jerk off in their car before coming to help us. I am FUCKING LIVID!!!! Please do better. I complained to AAA and cancelled the request - I can't put into words how upset I am. I'd physically be unable to ride home the hour drive with this lazy driver after seeing him try to pull something like this. The disrespect. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

AAA got me hooked up with Bob's towing last Friday 1-6-23 and said they could take up to 45-60 minutes to show up on Kanan Road. Well the driver did show up for but for another driver that had pulled over just before me, that had run over some road slide rocks. Tow driver said no one was coming for me and didn't offer to come back and pick up me up. Told me to call Roy's Towing in Thousand Oaks, but hey were 60 - 120 minutes out and would cost me $350 cause I called direct. Called AAA again and held for 90 minutes and hung up. I called Bob's Towing at 9am and asked how much it would cost to tow me 2.6 miles to Trancas Chevron. They told me $139.00. When I asked what time they would arrive for the tow, they said 45 minutes. I immediately booked the service and started waiting. About 45 minutes later they called to say the price is going up from $139.00 to $195.00. I didn't feel like I had a lot of options (stupid me), plus I knew they'd charge the cancellation fee If I cancelled. When I asked how long I'd have to wait, they said it would be another 2 hours or so. I told them I'd wait. After waiting over 2 hours, the driver called to say he'd arrive in another 55 minutes. To his credit, he did show up 55 minutes later, but by that time I'd already waited nearly 4 hours. He hooked up my truck and towed it the very short distance required. If I had it to do over again, I would have never used this company. Their reviews tell you everything you need to know. My experience was no different. read more

I would not use them unless you want to be told a short time to service you initially so you would hire them and they tell you about the $25 cancel fee. Once they got your card and ok to charge you a cancel fee then the game starts. So initially she says I can have a truck there in 25 minutes so we wait, we wait, and we end up having to call them back a number of times each time we get a different story as to where our service truck is. Long story short it took 2 hours and a bunch of times on phone asking where our guy is each call a different excuse as to why. Stuck in traffic, not answering our call, he's almost there, his GPS is not working every excuse imaginable. Then she got our location wrong not letting us know that with our phone we can send our exact location. It was just very frustrating and nor worth all the aggravation and unprofessional service from dispatch person. The actual guy who finally came was awesome but he was just a independent contractor who was hired by Bobs Towing. Go elsewhere for a tow. read more

I was in a real pickle last week after getting a flat in Malibu after picking up my rental at LAX. I was on my way to Santa Barbara and had to work out some challenges with AAA to get my car towed to SB, rather than have to take it Santa Monica where I would have been stuck all night with no place to stay until the tire place opened the next morning. Greg swooped in to the rescue, cleared everything up with AAA, and not only towed me to SB, but dropped me off at the Harbor, where I was staying, afterwards. Greg entertained me with stories of the tow business and anything else under the sun. They were contracted by AAA on my behalf for battery problems with my car on two occassions. The same technician, Philip, failed to do anything to help EITHER time. The first time, he said he couldn't replace the battery which is guaranteed by my membership. He was just too lazy to do it. On the second, he wouldn't jump start the car because I sent my house keeper outside to meet him with my membership and ID. When she offered to use her AAA membership, he said he couldn't and left. I will never allow Bob's towing to be called on my behalf EVER again. Completely useless. read more
