Big Mike's shop does excellent, honest work. I damaged my Ioniq 5's rear hatch, last May and he offered both a full replacement of parts or a more economical and still satisfactory replacement of two fascia panels and the Ioniq 5 white letters. Yesterday I brought this car in again for an estimate on a damaged sideview mirror. He said he could replace it for ~$250 or just clean up the superficial smudges. At no cost he securely snapped on the cover, pushed the mirror back in to remount it and used a rag and solvent to remove the adhesive from the packing tape I had used to hold it together. First off I'd leave a zero star- but it won't let me. This place did the worst repair work I've ever seen. But don't take my word for it- I had that verified by the dealership I had to take it to for the numerous problems I kept having that Mike said he'd resolve- but never did. Don't let Mike's personality fool you- he's a nice guy and a power talker. This "shop" left my car unsafe to drive. They punctured wiring harnesses, left parts disconnected and this was all verified by not 1 but 2 Ford dealerships. DO NOT DRIVE A CAR FROM THEM OR LET A LOVED ONE IF THEY'VE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING ANYTHING OTHER THAN SIMPLE BODY WORK- EVEN THEN I STILL WOULDN'T USE OR RECOMMEND THEM. Please look at the pictures took by the dealership I had to take the car to when I began experiencing major electrical issues and the car wouldn't drive. I had to have it towed there. read more

They take your vehicle and for the most part, the results are the same. I'm taking a moment to sit down and write this review because this place changed my mind about that thought. Yes, most times you get the same experience anywhere you go but as someone who's coming from the Customer Experience/Support Industry, Mike Sims and his team are top notch. He made me realize that the difference is the experience. Most situations that require a visit to one of these places usually starts as a negative one but Mike made sure that I was well taken care of. I can name a handful of times that he went to bat for me. Not only did he take time away to ensure I was being taken care of by Enterprise Rent a Car. He was physically there each time I needed a rental and even used one opportunity to teach them a lesson on how the customer should come first. Any business professional knows, great companies start from the top. As far as the work is concerned the turnaround was fairly quick and any delays were caused by waiting on parts. He guarantees his work for life and not just the body work but the paint as well. There were a couple of times that I needed transportation and he was there to make sure I got my truck back on time allowing me to do what I needed to do. He stayed after hours just so I can pick up my kid from daycare and even returning the rental vehicle himself. I had the pleasure of working with Mike and his team to have a toe-hitch added to my car. Based on how my car is designed, the bumper and all the sensors needed to be removed to make this happen. Nothing I could do myself. From the minute I walked in I was greeted by a super friendly receptionist and she was able to get me scheduled right away (same day if I wanted) to make this happen. We had a great experience with Mike at Paintin Place. Our 11 year old Mercedes S550 had a scrape injury on the passenger side of the car that included the rear bumper, quarter panel, door, and wheel. Mike went to bat with our insurance company that initially ok'd only a used bumper. Mike got the used part and said no to the insurance company because it was inferior and pleaded the case that we needed a new issue bumper so that he could guarantee his work. We got it and the repair was spectacular. On top of that, upon our request, Mike brought the car to Westlake Euro Automotive that is on the same block for an oil change and service while waiting for the new part. Ron at Westlake Euro Auto noted that our side mirror needed a new motor, so Ron got the part and gave it to Mike at Paintin and Mike installed it. Lastly, Thousand Oaks Detailing is in the same building and Jose picked up the car from Mike and detailed our car. Wow! Our car now looks brand new. We could not have had a more professional, efficient, generous, kind, and accommodating experience with Paintin Place. On top of that, Mike is a really good guy and his admin, Doris, is lovely and was very helpful to us in the process.
