This place was made for girls out on "girls night out" or for women to lure men into a trendy restaurant under the pretense of receiving real Mexican food. Sorry for the sexism here, but really, go see for yourself! While you might expect Mexican fare (nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas), this restaurant is trying to be "upscale" and/or "chic" while serving up "gourmet" taquitos. And, while the tacos were tasty, the sheer lack of food on the table after receiving our order was a little frustrating. I ordered a salmon salad and a few tacos (which are $4 a pop), and found the salad to be bland. There was no real spice in the tacos, either, except that they were served with a single, sliced jalapeno pepper, which I ate because after the teeny tacos, I was still extremely hungry. The drinks, while expensive, were good. The Margarita was not overly sweet, but it did need more alcohol. All in all, this is a good date place (but crowded would be an understatement), not a real Mexican restaurant. It may be better to have appetizers and drinks here, and then go out for dinner...if you have any cash left. All-in-all, while this review may sound like a complaint, I found the place to be interesting enough to try again. read more

I've been in twice now. Once on a random weekday evening and once for Sunday brunch. I sat at the bar both times and the service was great. Seating at the tables and high tops (bar style tables) looked kinda uncomfortable so we chose the bar. The food here is great and the tequila selection is top notch. I tried this place for the first time today. I liked the atmosphere and our server was lovely. I ordered chips with 3 salsas, shrimp tacos, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was very tasty and fresh, but I wish the portions were bigger. Way too expensive for the amount of food you get. read more

Been here a few times. The tacos are excellent, my favorite being the American & Mahi Mahi. So flavorful. I often find myself craving them. The one con I have about this place is how little it is. You really have to come at a time there's not many people or hope you're lucky and can squeeze in at the bar. read more

Yum yum yum. I love this place! Especially bc the owner also owns valencia in Norwalk... Tacos are great, specials are great and drinks are great. The guac is pretty good also. Since I am a big Valencia fan this place was a must try for me (same owner) while the food and drink are delicious they are on the smaller side, which could be fine if they were not quite as expensive. I enjoyed the guacamole as an app, two tacos which were good and a couple of different sides all which were very tasty- corn, brussel sprouts (the best of them all) and plantains. On a positive note the avocado appetizer was the best I ever had. It was also in the smallest dish I ever saw for $8. The place was very dark and I could not see the menu or the food I was eating. I couldn't see the cleanliness of the place and that's pretty gross. The food was so so. I wouldn't go back for it. The waiter brought a taco we didn't order. That's too bad he charged us anyway. Staff is obnoxious. Not unpleasant, just obnoxious. The margaritas were in the smallest glass I ever saw and it was full of ice for $10. Just ate a fantastic lunch at Bodega today. Fresh, delicious salad with skirt steak and a yummy sangria. Tucked away in a little strip mall near the Starbucks off Exit 21. Plenty of parking which is not always the case in Westport/Fairfield. Love it!! This place is pretty small though so don't go there with more than 3 friends! read more

Interesting place, looks like a converted diner. Still has bar stools and counter. Order their version Om the lobster mac and cheese appetizer, found very little lobster and just okay, needed something, but for $14 what can you expect. Service was indifferent with very few people there. read more

Truth be told.. The place is cool, the prices are alright, the waters and staff were great but the food is not authentic, yes it's spicy but when I think authentic something different comes to mind (being of Mexican decent and growing up in San Diego). But it was a fun experience. read more

Don't be fooled by the fact that this is called Bodega Taco Bar. This place is chic and the food is really pretty gourmet as far as Tacos go. The servers are good and prices are pretty good. I had the Americano Taco (3 to be exact) and I thought the sauces were amazing. read more

As always an incredible meal. The guacamole is great and chips homemade. The braised short rib arepa was phenomenal. The Cuban sandwich is tasty. Tacos are all very good and they have a couple of specials everyday. The Margaritas, while tasty are tiny and mostly ice, giving you about two sips. All in all it's not worth the 9 bucks. I went here for dinner this past Friday with a few friends. We had a great time. Food wise-the guacamole and tacos were excellent. I loved my Calexico tacos the most. However, the standout of the meal was the brussel sprouts. We wouldnt think to order them but the waitress recommended. We were sure glad she did-they were amazing! Good drink list as well.2 kinds of Lagunitas was great and goes well with tacos! The service we had was really good-in fact excellent. We had a vey nice waittress who was genuinely friendly and helpful. We got our food quickly and everything was well paced. It wasnt crazy overpriced and I felt the bill equated well to the amount of food we got. Nice atmosphere and bar as well. We will be back. read more

The Pollo Rico Tortas was absolutely fantastic. The service was ok. The bartender was not that friendly. The atmosphere was very hipster and lively. It is a nice setting for afternoon gatherings and drinks. It will also be a great place for lunch and dinner. read more

This place is TINY but the food is delicious. Typical a la carte tacos, similar in style to Bar Taco. Guac is fresh made, pomegranate margaritas are tasty and effective. Since the space is so small, be prepared for long waits if you try to go on the weekends. Try a weeknight instead! read more

Very busy place, usually difficult to get a seat at the bar or a table during prime dining times. Great taco's. I love the buffalo lamb ribs, unfortunately it is no longer offered as an appetizer, just an entrée. But overall the food is excellent and for the most part reasonable priced. Service is decent. It was my second visit to Bodega and the second time was just as good as the first. The queso fundido with chorizo was delicious and the cubano sandwich was amazing. Overall, the food was great but the service could have been better. We will definitely be back. read more
