Finally tried Charm Thai. They've been open 5 months or so. It's a cute little place right near The Charmery. The staff are very friendly and we walked in and sat easily at 5:30pm. The prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. We tried the fried tofu, edamame, pork dumplings and chicken satay appetizers. All were great. The dumplings were really something special. They aren't like any other dumplings I've had and they come with lettuce cups and a delicious coconut sauce. We had the pad Thai and pad see ew, also delicious. Great prices and great food. We'll be back!

Found this spot while Googling for a Thai place near the movie theater, and I'm so glad I did. It was cozy, quaint, warm, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I was dining alone, and even with a few larger tables there, I felt completely comfortable. There's something about a place that gets the energy right without trying too hard. The decor was simple but intentional ....classic leather kitchenette style chairs in rich brown and army green tones, music softly pumping in the background. Nothing overdone. Just... on point. And the food? Excellent from beginning to end. The chive dumplings were flavorful and paired perfectly with the sauce. The texture caught me a little off guard at first, but in the best way ...comforting, fresh, and delicious. The num tok beef salad was beautifully seasoned with just the right amount of heat. Balanced, flavorful, and addictive. And the fried branzino special and veggies ...Chef's kiss. I was told they've only been open about six months, but everything felt polished and thoughtful already. Honestly, I almost hate giving such a glowing review because I don't want y'all taking my spot. But credit where it's due: excellent, excellent, excellent. i'll definitely be back.

Great little neighborhood joint serving up Thai favorites. We've been in a few times now and everything has been wonderful. They do a lot of carry out and the high tops are for walk ins. The tables are often reserved so call ahead if you're able. The owner is often at the front of house and is very welcoming. The whole space is warm and welcoming. Dinner was delicious and I do love a mango sticky rice!

I had originally made the nice lady very nervous with my request and she tried to convince me to try the dish that was advertised with the glass noodles, but i assured her that it would be fine as i normally eat noodles without soup. One of the highlights is the handmade noodles, which you can customize in thickness, from delicate angel hair to something as hearty as fettuccine. The menu has plenty of variety beyond soups, including dumplings, spring rolls, stir-fried noodles, and oil-tossed noodle dishes. I also tried the braised intestines on the side; while they were well-prepared, the texture wasn't quite for me--I'd probably enjoy them more if they were fried. Ordering is convenient, whether you prefer doing it in person, through the app, or at the kiosk. The space has a good number of tables for dining in, and there's even a piano if you know how to play. Overall, it's been a consistently enjoyable spot for lunch.

We visited on a Tuesday, and since it wasn't very busy, the service was attentive and our food came out quickly. We took advantage of one of their daily specials. the Cumin Beef Stir-Fry was half off ($13). It ended up being my favorite dish. The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The Tibetan Diced Lamb also had great flavor with a nice balance of spices. The Sichuan Popcorn Chicken, however, wasn't what I expected. It wasn't the traditional Sichuan-style chicken I was hoping for and leaned more on the sweet side, which personally wasn't my favorite. The Flaming Roasted Lamb Leg had a delicious smoky flavor and came with a fun tableside presentation where it was set on fire. That said, the portion was on the smaller side for the price, and I was a little surprised to find what looked like French fries underneath the lamb. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and street parking was easy to find. They don't have a liquor license yet, so it's currently BYOB. There's a liquor store that's a three minute walk away from the restaurant. They also offer tea for $5 with free refills and soda for $2.50 with free refills. I also appreciated that they offer select dishes at half price on certain days of the week, so it's worth checking their specials before you visit. Overall, the food was flavorful, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the daily specials make this a great value. While not every dish was a hit for me, the cumin beef and Tibetan lamb were excellent.

Lao Sze Chuan is a new-ish (open since January 2025) Sichuan restaurant that took over the space Busboys and Poets used to occupy. It's a huge space, but they did a great job renovating it, and it feels light and bright and modern - very comfortable. It's huge though - so I hope people know it's there and are ordering takeout/delivery or stopping by a for a meal in person! The service was very friendly and very fast, so it's a great spot for an in-person meal, too! Their menu is as large as the restaurant space, so there's something for everyone! They definitely have a lot of Sichuan dishes, but if you're not up for Sichuan, they have some other dishes that might fit the bill: dim sum (plenty of dumplings and buns), lo mein, fried rice, Peking duck, basil eggplant, Mongolian beef, and more... On Saturday at the restaurant, my husband and I shared a pot of white tea and a few dishes: crystal shrimp dumplings; pork soup dumplings; spicy tofu skin strips (shredded tofu skin tossed with Sichuan-style chili oil, peppercorns, and spices for a bold, numbing and spicy flavor); spicy and sour fish fillets (tender fish fillets simmered in a flavorful broth with pickled mustard greens, garlic, and Sichuan spices); a side of white rice for the fish; and red bean paste pumpkin cakes for dessert. When we ordered delivery in February, we shared: vegetable steamed dumplings; Yu-Shiang Eggplant Roll (tender eggplant braised and rolled in a traditional Sichuan Yu-Shiang sauce, offering a perfect balance of sweet, sour, savory, and spicy notes); crispy salty chicken (bite-sized chicken pieces deep-fried and seasoned with basil); salt & pepper pork chops (crispy fried pork chops tossed with onions and jalapeño peppers for a bold and savory flavor); and a side of white rice). I've enjoyed everything we've eaten (although I wouldn't recommend the crispy dishes for delivery for obvious reasons - I can't resist salt & pepper pork chops sometimes even though I know it doesn't travel the best), and I love how broad the menu is. I can't wait to return to try more of their dishes!

Their menu features ramen, brothless ramen, and other Asian-fusion bowls. Honestly, the food didn't look bad and there seemed to be some gluten free options. However, I only got the boba tea this time around and I was sadly very disappointed. When ordering, there wasn't any option to customize the tea (sugar or ice levels specifically) so when it came out, I was disappointed with the sweetness and the lukewarm temp. I wish there was more ice and less sugar. The boba was also very overcooked and slimy. It didn't have the chewy bounce that boba is supposed to have and it wasn't marinated well either - it didn't taste like brown sugar at all. Just flavorless and mush. I ended up going home and dumping the whole thing over some ice cubes but it still wasn't great. The only upside is that they use dairy-free milk so no need to customize that. But overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot for boba unfortunately.
