Found this place last year on my annual visit to Venice. Food and service were good again this year. I will definitely be back next year.

We discovered this hidden gem down a side alley in downtown Venice, and we are thrilled that we did! This family-owned restaurant had the nicest décor and was so very inviting. They have amazing Mediterranean food: we had the gyro platter that was cooked to perfection and the appetizer platter that had six different selections on the plate served with pita. I was looking for a genuinely GOOD Mediterranean(Turkish) meal. I think I found it. Flavorful with great textures along with a fabulous staff. Sit inside or outside, it is a quaint little gem worth the drive from any surrounding city. We will be back. read more

At my office it is a treat to have Bodrum for lunch. I would like to give 5 stars, however they don't make the order as requested. We order asking for no onion and end up having to pick them off. Not sure why they can't leave them off as requested. read more

First time at this restaurant. We walked in with no reservation, the place was totally empty. The server told us the table she sat us at was needed in an hour and a half for a reservation, which was fine. It then took us about 50 minutes to get our food. I tried the Turkish chicken patties but didn't like them at all as the outer coating was chewy, the flavor was ok though. My friend had the salmon with dill which she said was good. Rice was plain and the greens served had no dressing, hence no flavor. The interior is well done and bright. read more

Glad we looked at yelp for a recommendation. Wonderful find. Lovely small restaurant, but they have outside dining. My friend is Lebanese and the Turkish style is similar using lemon and olive oil rather than butter like the Greeks. We started with a calamari, first night they were serving it. They need to keep practicing on that dish, however, I had a Shepard's salad with an added grape leave-perfect. My friend had a ground lamb skewer that was also wonderful. A unique restaurant for Venice. They serve season and spiced foods. The service was personalized and great. I had the Turkish yellow lentil soup and lamb kabobs; both, cooked and flavored to perfection. Then a Turkish coffee to finish the meal. I can't wait to return to try the lamb chops plate and other goodies. read more

We dined at Bodrum last night with friends. The food was delicious- I had the mahi-mahi special and we shared several appetizers. What struck us were the acoustics and the lighting. It was very loud in the small dining room so I'd recommend panels on the ceiling and walls to dampen the noise. I don't recall if there were drapes but that would help too. The lights were a bit bright - softening them would improve the ambiance. The staff was good albeit a bit overwhelmed as several groups arrived at the same time. Overall it was really good but they could substantially improve the experience with a few minor changes. read more

A great new restaurant. Fresh, healthy ingredients simply prepared with unique spices. Genuine! Venice has always had decent Italian restaurants, and increasingly more varied fare. Prices are reasonable and caring, discrete service. The owners are in the background noticing and directing in a gentle way. The meats are all grass fed, so you don't get the sort of grease that usually accompanies some Turkish and Greek lamb dishes. The appetizers are all healthy and refreshing. The deserts are amazing. This is not a large restaurant, so be sure to make reservations. read more

Visiting from Northern Virginia and had a wonderful experience! Salmon was cooked perfectly, Mixed Grill is to die for, Pepper Corn Strip was delicious and Mahi mahi came with a delicious caper tomato olive sauce. Must go if you're in Venice! read more

Outstanding! We often find ourselves in Venice and decided to try this little gem yesterday for lunch! The food is fresh and filled with flavor. Service is attentive without being overbearing. We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. The service and food were excellent and the prices quite fair. I would have given five stars, but the spinach pie appetizer was only so so. All 3 entrees for our group were excellent, though. Lamb chops, catch of the day and Salmon were all cooked just right and very flavorful. read more

Wonderful food. I ordered Adana kabob and my wife the Mediterranean salad. Both were so good. Also ordered the yellow lentil soup. The breads here are good. I'm not a food expert on this type of cuisine, but would most definitely come back again when in the Venice area. You must try this delicious food! read more

Stopped in for dinner this evening. Very pleasant place, nicely decorated- light and airy. Outdoor seating is available but I preferred to eat in this evening. Was greeted by an extremely friendly waitress and was seated. Started off with the mazze plate - very very good , the tabouli could use a little work but everything else, including the pita was very flavorful. I ordered the fish of the day , halibut, perfectly cooked and dressed with an incredible sauce - beautiful!! Had a couple of Glasses of Sancerre, a bit expensive but what the hell it went perfect with the food. Finished , at the waitresses urging for the Turkish custard and Turkish coffee, I wouldn't recommend either - not special, as the meal had been. Excellent find and I'm thrilled they are in Venice , where restaurants are really hit or miss, mostly miss. This is a real find , well managed and great kitchen. I'll be back for sure read more

My wife and I wanted to try Bodrum as we actually spent a portion of our honeymoon in Bodrum, Turkey. Food was great. The owner and waitstaff were great as well. Great food, tiny portions, very expensive.

After recently moving to Venice we decided to try out the Greek restaurants. Seems that there are several in the area, so we started with the BODRUM Restaurant in D'town Venice. Good location, ample parking across the street and an excellent wait staff! Unfortunately the food, is the weakest part of the experience. Started with wine and an order of Tzatziki which was OK, but a little pricey. Then ordered two Greek salads and one with gyro meat at $13.50. I have absolutely no complaints about the price but was genuinely disappointed in the salad. The lettuce was chopped up into small hard to gather pieces which fell off your fork as you ate, the gyro consisted of four little strips of tasteless meat, but the biggest disappointment was the feta cheese. Instead of chunks of cheese they served sprinkles. The tomatoes ware cut up to the size of a large peas, and the one dolma received was small, and was lost in the shallow bed of lettuce. I was somewhat disappointed in wasting my time eating here, but needed to give it a try. I would have gladly paid $19.95 for a good Greek salad with a couple more pieces of gyro, some real chunks of feta, and one more dolma. I hope that this restaurant sees this review as a good natured suggestion and improves this dish, as they do have a good location and an excellent, enthusiastic wait staff! Now, I'll press onward to the other Greek establishments to see what they have to offer. read more

Great Middle Easter cuisine. The appetizers are wonderful and everything is fresh. I had the best swordfish ever; cooked just right. Everyone in our party of 4 was delighted. Julia, our server, was the best, explained the menu and saw that our pita bread and drinks were always refilled. read more

Wow! What a nice surprise. Something different from all the Italian places downtown. Went for lunch today and split the mezze plate: samples of 6 different dips/salads with pita and cucumbers, and--alas, only one stuffed grape leaf (I clearly need to go back for a dedicated order of those dolmades!). Was very enjoyable to sit outside on the breezeway and enjoy a glass of wine with lunch, especially as inside smelled a bit soapy. I mean clean is good, don't get me wrong, it's just I am sensitive to perfumy smells-especially when I am trying to enjoy a meal. The mezze plate could have been a light meal by itself, but we were hungry and wanted to try more items so we shared the catch of the day. Today was halibut, prepared in a creamy sauce with tomatoes, capers, kalamata olives and parsley. That sauce could make a shoe taste good! Also the fish was PERFECTLY cooked. It was a significant price jump from the other regular entrees, but it was also the best piece of fish I have had in a restaurant in a long time. Overall a very good experience. Service was attentive and quick. The restaurant was scary empty when we arrived so I wanted to help them out with a review as I want them to stay in business. Hopefully I can still get in come March when the snowbirds are full force. read more

When our friends invited us to eat out in their favorite restaurant in Venice , we didn't say no because they are true foodies and traveled the word in search of quality restaurants. Unfortunately, my wife and I lost our interest in unhealthy bready and oily Italian fare Venice is so well known for. It leaves us feeling heavy and catatonic. To our surprise our destination was Mediterranean restaurant Bodrum. Located in a cozy court in the center of Venice island , Bodrum is a flavorful and creative take on Turkish/ Greek cuisine. Plenty of vegetables so terribly missing in most restaurants, generous portions of masterfully grilled meats and carefully prepared fish brought to you by beautiful servers who made us feel so at home as soon as we arrived. The vegetarian appetizers we tried were truly authentic and inspired, light and sophisticated. The only worry next time will be not to overdo them and leave space for wonderful dessert.
