This was an amazing little Mediterranean restaurant. Seriously some of the best salmon I've ever had and funny enough the woman at the table in the next room commented and said the same thing. It was very fresh, juicy, perfectly grilled and seasoned. I had the salmon pita wrap with fries, the Shepard salad and the baba ganoush with pita bread. The dill sauce on the salmon wrap is like a white dill gravy, so it's warm, sounds weird but it's amazing in the wrap with the salmon, I asked for extra and ended up dipping my fries in it as well. Lunch prices are incredible for the quality of food. If I lived in Venice I would be at this place all the time. Dennis was our server and he was amazing also. Everything was perfect. read more

We had a great time at Bodrum! The food is out of this world delicious. We went there with a big group and had an amazing experience. Everything was delicious, starting from the sampler platter, cheese rolls, falafel, mixes drill and creamy tilapia dish. Everyone was pleased and happy. Also, the service was excelled. Yulia, was exceptional on meeting all the party's needs. Ersen, the chef and owner, came out to greet us. Seriously, thank you guys for everything. Will definitely be back a million times. read more

Really enjoyed the service and meal here. The mezze appetizer platter is a must and has a nice variety of spreads. The highlight of the entrees was the swordfish which had a nice charred finish. The falafel were the one disappointment for me. The fried outside was especially hard and the inside was rather dry for my taste. Went for our third visit recently because our first trips were good experiences. I had the Kafte Kabob and it was over cooked, dry and had very little flavor. Plain white rice on the side was also very bland. Vegetables were good. My wife had a salad with salmon. Asked for dressing on the side and of course it came out drenched in house dressing. Sent it back and they fixed the problem. No owners in site this time so that may explain some of the lack of attention to detail. There will not be another visit to this restaurant. Superb Mediterranean food, excellent service in a small but beautifully decorated restaurant.

Saganaki wasn't lit on fire and tasted like mozz sticks. Salad was hot with no dressing and wilted spinach. Gyro looked like tongue. Burnt coffee. Baklava was not crispy and tasted like humidity got to it. read more

I met a friend from Sarasota at Bodrum's last night and we were both delighted with the excellent food, cozy decor and friendly staff of this new Venice restaurant! We had a few appetizers plus their delicious mixed grill and each bite was uniquely flavorful and high quality. Even their warm pita bread was outstanding. We sampled a few of the wine offerings and ended up with a pleasant Italian red. We always like to talk over a leisurely dinner and never felt rushed. Ive been to a lot of the Zagat rated seafood places in NY, Texas, and southeast Fl and I can tell you that the Salmon dish I had here at Bodrum, called "Somon Izgara" is hands down the best Salmon dish Ive had so far. It was absolutely mouth watering! I would be remiss if I did not also mention the prelude to that amazing dish, the "Sample Mezze" which was so refreshing and just the right touch on a sweltering summer afternoon in FL. Most importantly, my wife loved it too. I cant tell you enough. If you are vacationing in Sarasota, make sure to visit Venice too and treat your taste buds to pure bliss at Bodrum. The healthy and delicious food coupled with a cozy, bright, and romantic ambiance makes this place a gem! We live on the east coast of Fl and will definitely be visiting again. read more

We dined at Bodrum again this evening and every single dish was delish! From babaganush and dolma to a fresh halibut special in an amazing Mediterranean sauce and an awesome ground lamb special wrapped in a thin phyllo dough, and topped off with delicious halva for dessert. This restaurant is in downtown Venice, FL which is a wonderful spot to visit. It's in a charming shopping arcade. Bodrum serves Greek and Turkish food. Our favorites are the swordfish and also the salmon. They are served with a salad and rice that in there own are terrific. ( I usually could care less about salad or rice). Baklava for dessert! We drive 1/2 hour to dine here once or twice a month. Daria has been our server, the staff is all friendly and speedy. read more

I was excited to hear of new Mediterranean restaurant in Venice but disappointed after having lunch there. Overpriced and not quality of food I expected. We shared two entrees- the lamb and beef kebabs. The meet not tasty and rice tasted like Minuteman rice. It is Turkish restaurant not Mediterranean. Waitress served warm water and need to ask for bread with entrees. read more

Bodrum Restaurant is a wonderful addition to our little town! We had a great meal there last night, and were very happy with the food and service. The sample platter of a medley of traditional Greek and Turkish foods was a nice generous appetizer for two. The catch of the day was a delicious snapper sautéed in a creamy sauce of capers, tomatoes, parsley and black olives. My partner had the chargrilled lamb and beef patties mixed with the chef 's special spices. The staff was warm and friendly, and the Turkish chef came out to introduce himself. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate tucked into a breezeway. We closed our eyes and listened to the Turkish music. We have not had such an authentic Turkish evening since we were in Istanbul! read more

Bodrum is the best Turkish/Greek restaurant hands down, in Venice area, and for that matter in the State of Florida. As an retired Steakhouse owner from the Northern suburbs of Chicago, who happens to be Greek, and who served some pretty top notch famous Lamb Chops, Bodrum's Lamb Chops are the best ever , even better than mine! Also, the Owner is hands on and knows how to run his restaurant with the highest quality foods and service. Speaking of service, we have had the pleasure of having Deniz serve us the last 2 times we were there. Deniz is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of being served by in my 56 years of eating out. Needless to say, if you want the best experience in SWFL go to Bodrum, you will be very happy that you did. read more

One of our favorite restaurants in the Venice downtown area. First it is very small so reservations are important especially if you want to sit inside. The menu is not extensive but the quality of the offerings is outstanding. For those that are vegan, there is a separate menu for the asking. I tend to gravitate to the steak or kabobs. My wife being vegan loves their falafels and the dolmas. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and they do not rush you. Perfect place for a couples night out. read more

Potions were small but palatable. interior is generic with a nautical theme and kind of like they bought the decorations at Walmart! We also ordered the the sampler which came with pita (not even homemade but store-bought) you get no sides like you would expect, like olives maybe some goat cheese, it's very meager and way overpriced for what you get, but hey, we did get a side of generic white rice on the side of our kabob!! Just visited this restaurant for a second time and once again it was outstanding. It is small so reservation definitely recommend. My wife had lamb chops and they were the best she has ever had. Worst Mediterranean food ever. Had the Gyro billed as shaved beef and actually was formed hamburger. My partner had the spinach pie that is normally made with phyllo dough and instead had a thin smear of spinach in lavash bread. Overpriced as well. read more

Notice that most of the reviews say "we" and not "I" ate lunch at Bodrum's. The prices were a bit too high for one person; now, if "we" had gone for lunch and ordered a couple of appetizers that we could share, then it would have been reasonably priced. $7/glasses of wine. read more
