I wish I could give this place more stars because my massage from Julia was excellent but... in terms of the place itself... no. My husband gave me a gift card for a massage for Christmas and I figured I should use it sooner rather than later. I read the reviews beforehand and went into my experience feeling a little hesitant, but I don't frequent many spas so it's not like I have a ton of experience to base expectations on. The women's locker room has a vibe similar to, like, a locker room at a public pool. I wasn't moved by anything I saw... kind of all low-grade. 1) Apparently we were supposed to receive a courtesy call prior to our visit. Neither my friend or I received one, when we first entered the spa area we didn't have flip flops on and at that time a worker saw us and asked if anyone called us. We told her no, she said you should've and at that time they would've went over everything to bring including flip flops. I later looked on the site and saw this, however if a courtesy call is the norm for guest this was a fail. We were given flip flops and charged for them and we left them at the facility. 2) It doesn't appear that guest are advised to keep their voice volume down. I've had my bridal shower here and my mom's 50th. The service here is incredible and everyone always leaves relaxed and refreshed. I'm a big fan of coming just for the wet lounge. I can spend hours on hours in there. Especially with a great drink made by the bartender. My favorite is taking a dip in the cold tub after the jacuzzi, wet sauna and dry sauna. The cold leaves me refreshed and ready to go straight to sleep. If you like treatments try the cucumber facial. Can't wait to become a monthly member here! read more

I really felt like this massage was inappropriate. It was my first time here and I booked an appointment for an 80 minute massage (deep tissue)with a male and wanted to focus on my shoulder being treated because I had slept wrong and it was tight. Instead of focusing on that area, the massage was focused on rubbing my glutes and in between my thighs. Looking back it just felt really inappropriate and not what I asked for. I also kept my bikini bottoms on during the massage and the man I had pulled them up my butt to make it more of a thong and kept moving the sheets up it felt like to see my bottom. I just felt uncomfortable, I hate that I didn't say anything during the massage and didn't just walk out. I don't know why I didn't but looking back now it makes me feel sad and violated knowing that I didn't even receive the service I needed and to pay $200 for that. He rubbed what he wanted to rub and sped through and neglected my other parts of my body. I will never be back I really didn't enjoy my experience and feel violated. I chose a male because I was got a deep tissue massage so I was thinking they would really be able to get into the muscle not using my body for their pleasure it just feels humiliating and not good. read more

Don't waste your money if you are seeking a true healing steam therapy. I patronized this spa frequently years ago and the steam room had issues. After not going for 6 years I decided to give it another try. Poor desk etiquette. No one was at the desk. My guest and I waited 10 minutes, someone peeped their head out from a corner to acknowledge us and we waited some more, never to be taken care of by a receptionist. It was apparent that not only was the facility not up to par but the staff wasn't either. This is unfortunate because the original spa owner brought a self care business to Fort Green / Clinton Hill that didn't exist. So for great steam and welcoming service Body by Brooklyn is a no. The BathHouse in Williamsburg, Aire Acient in Tribecca, and the older bath houses in lower Manhattan will provide you a true spa experience and greeting/etiquette you deserve! read more

This spot is honestly just amazing. On my first time to Body by Brooklyn , I came here just for a Swedish massage and from the moment I walked in, it was an atmosphere of relaxation. My masseuse was really sweet and knowledgeable. After my massage she had recommended for my next appointment that I try a deep tissue massage because I'm always biking around the city, my muscles needed more attention. The staff members were so personable made me feel welcomed. The aesthetics are on point and really well designed. I had such a great time I booked three more treatments for my sister and I for her birthday weekend. I would definitely recommend coming through for your every need. read more

Everyone was very friendly in the facilities, especially being our first time you guys were able to make a lasting impression. From the amazing services from the massage therapists, To our favorite bartender everything was beyond our expectations. The facilities were also kept very clean and smelled very nice. Staff was also quick to replenish items, I went into the bathroom and finished the toilet paper lol but by the time I came back to the bathroom it was restocked. The food was also delicious ! If I could give zero stars, I would. Who goes to the spa and leaves with a headache? I wish I would have checked Yelp before going to this place, but surprisingly my hairdresser's clients recommended this place. 24 hours later and I am still bewildered as to why. I have never been more infuriated by the customer service at a business. Where do I begin??? Our appointment was at 1. There were 4 girls. 3 of us showed up on time. 1 was late. We waited a bit in the front - had to fill out paperwork, wait for them to finish with a couple of girls before us, etc. Then they led us to a back VIP section, because they mistakenly thought we were a different party. That right there ate up time, because of their own disorganization. But moving on, we knew that our friend would miss her 1pm facial appointment since she was running late, so my friend (the bday girl) had a 1pm massage and a 2pm facial. She asked the woman at the front desk if she could take our friend's facial appt at 1pm, so it wouldn't be lost, and just move her 1pm massage to 2pm. Easy enough. The receptionist said ok. We were given 2 lockers and 2 robes for 4 people - be aware, they "run out" of locker keys. We were told there would be robes in the 2 lockers - no robes, so we had to wait for an attendant to bring those. We then get rushed to our appointments. My 60 min massage was 48 minutes - I timed it. I was given a shortened service because I had to fill out papers, wait for a robe, and wait for the front desk - doesn't make sense to me, but ok. I get out of my massage feeling pretty good. I see my friend, the bday girl looking confused. While she was getting her 1pm facial, our friend arrived and was waiting for her 2pm facial. My friend who had switched appointments, expecting her massage was moved to 2pm, was told that the masseusse was booked for the day and that she had missed her 1pm appt and would have to pay 100% of the service charge - or wait until 6pm to possibly be fit in. At this point she explained to the manager what she was told by the receptionist. No exaggeration, he told her she was not telling the truth, and refused to bend in any way. We went to the sauna to literally blow of some steam - and returned to the front desk to check out about an hour and a half later. The manager was still adamant that my friend had to pay for the service that she did not receive, due to their own miscommunication at the front desk. He said to her, "you've told me 4 different stories now." "There's nothing I can do. My hands are tied." Then he blamed it on us being late - we explained to him that we were not. Then he told us none of the employees verified her story - and none of them were available to come speak to her. So he summed up that she was lying after talking to his employees, but then could not present any employees to verify that they had not said this was OK. After trying to stick us with the 100% NO SHOW fee of $135, he "helped us" out by bringing it down to a 50 dollar cancellation fee. How can you charge my friend a No Show fee for a service when she was present and told no therapist was available?? Add to it, we're at the front desk trying to plead our case, and he starts getting more complaints from other parties. While our friend was getting a facial, we overheard a group of girls complaining that their brunch took 2 hours to come. The manager's response: "Sorry, someone should have told you our kitchen is small." The waitress comped some drinks for them. When the food came out, the therapist came to the table and told one of the girls it was time for her service and that she had 5-10 minutes to eat or her service would be shortened. Very unaccommodating. At checkout, the girls told the manager that the waitress had comped some drinks for slow food service. First he questioned their story, then he backtracked and said well, the waitress doesn't have the authority to do that and tried to stick them with the drinks. Then he denied she would ever say that, essentially called them liars, and ran w/ the quickness to talk to the waitress. Come on... The manager is entirely too sassy. It's extremely appalling. The desk was disorganized. No one offers you water or asks you how you are. Bare necessities, small locker rooms. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! And if you do after reading this, you're going to be shaking your head, saying that girl on Yelp was right. And with this, I say a loud wooooosahhhhh. Love the place. It's a nice go -to spot for a quick pampering. However, this new booking platform is terrible. There's so many options and not enough organization. I had to really search for the massage I want and then when I found it it turned out to be the weekday one when I needed the weekend. Had to search for the weekend option when the old system provided a drop down list that was much more straight forward. Please organize the platform better. It's not user friendly at all. Celebrating a birthday ... I ignored my better judgment and the negative reviews ... deciding to just give this place a try . HUGE mistake . Let's start with the good : The two black female masseurs we had were absolutely amazing . I hate that I've forgotten their names . They rubbed every bit of tension, we had, completely out ... even gave us tips on exercises we could do post massage . The room we received the services in, was lovely . The tables were comfortable and the aroma therapy option was spot on . Music and chosen scents included . Both saunas were clean and properly heated . The steam room was also clean and I enjoyed both throughly . The negative : There were two "regulars" who obviously were friends of the spa attendants . They were loud obnoxious and intoxicated . With zero respect for their fellow patrons . Not wanting to spoil what was supposed to be the start of a fun filled day, we, tried to avoid them at all cost . That aside the day just kept, getting worse . The hot tub was disgusting and barely luke warm . The drinks were overly priced and watered down . The towels provided had holes and stains . The thought of how extremely unsanitary the environment is was so uncomfortable we simply decided to leave . Def not enough bang for my buck . This is a hidden oasis. I was given a gift card last Christmas and needed to use it before it expires. Anyway, I started off with a massage. In order for a massage to be considered good or great, I have to nod off or fall asleep. At first I was a little reluctant but 15 minutes in I started to getting excited. I would not say it was great but very good. It was extremely relaxing. Definitely nodded off a few times. The oils use were not overwhelming and my massage therapists put just the right amount of pressure. Some people can be a little to hard to the point you can't enjoy it. Now for the facial. My facial was amazing. Omg I was very impressed. I have very dry skin and the cold weather is not being very nice. After having this facial my skin felt hydrated and rejuvenated. The only thing I would have wanted was extractions. I will probably go back and try a deep pore cleansing facial. Please keep in mind you are required to wear a bathing suit and flip flops. You might want to go early to enjoy the jacuzzi and sauna. read more

This place is a sharp contrast from Spa Castle, which is much more commercial and has more nudity..lol Loved my mani-pedi with a young lady by the name of Rakeisha. She was great! My girls enjoyed the Steam room, Suana's and Jacuzzi it definitely was a great, clean, hospitable place to relax. The locker rooms were very acceptable just like Equinox I think they definitely thought of everything from the shower cap, slippers, shavers, towels, robes, deordrant, lotion, I mean these people understood the needs of a woman at the Spa and definitely catered to it. I have been here several times. very chill and relaxed atmosphere. i go early during the week never crowded. i love the cold pool and steam room. i play a lot of tennis and the cold pool makes me feel renewed... if on;y for a day. the sauna and steam rooms get all the toxins out. great after a night of drinking. the fireplace in the lounge is nice for reading and relaxing. you can easily spend 6 hours here hiding from life. they also supply shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, razors, q-tips, towels, robes, etc. and if u forget your bathing suit and flip flops, they will sell to you for an affordable rate. read more

I would have rated it higher but there was so much disorder going on that it just wouldn't be honest. At the end of my visit I paid cash only to get home and have the same women I paid call me and tell me I didn't pay her and insist I pay her again. She states my card declined and Thank God it did because to be honest they would have gotten away with charging me twice in this case. Long story shorty after I described herself to her she tells me she remembered me and my husband and she apologized and offered us a free day pass which by the way we never received and that was three days ago..... bad business. Having a busy day is no excuse for bad customer service and poor follow up. So no I will not be returning. The food was good, the massages were amazing but bad customer service ruins your whole experience it's like going to a restaurant sitting next to the bathroom and someone took a dump, five stars can quickly turn to one. read more

Massage- Just ok. My therapist was not proficient in English . I needed more pressure and I couldn't communicate that with her. One day later and my body is still in need of a massage. She was not terrible but I need staff to be able to communicate with me and listen to my needs. Massages aren't cheap. Environment- clean, modern. Wet Room- the saunas and steam room were very nice. The jacuzzi was not working the day I went. Some people actually went to enjoy the spa and were not notified that the jacuzzi was out of order until they received the tour.. This place is ok. We got a Living Social deal and decided to give it a try, but I was prepared for the worst since the reviews on Yelp were so all over the place. Having been to Spa 88 (which also has quite a few bad reviews) and Spa Castle (the Disneyland of spas), I'd say this place is my least favorite. They really did put effort into making it clean and modern, but the actual space in the saunas/wet lounge is just not big enough. We were there during the week on a holiday when most people were out of town, and it already felt somewhat cramped with 10-15 people in the main wet lounge area. I can only imagine what it's like on the weekend with more people. It didn't feel especially relaxing, and we were bored after about an hour or so. The main area with the restaurant and lounge seating felt like Starbucks, which did not really make me want to stay there. The staff were fine, and we didn't experience any of the negativity that other Yelpers experienced. However, they did seem a little disorganized. One front desk staffer said they would give us a tour after we had changed, but when we came out of the locker rooms he was nowhere to be seen, and we gave up after waiting around for 15 minutes. Overall, this was fine with the deal we had, but I would not come back, and I also would not have paid full price. read more

Place is really nice but small. Not that that is bad but I feel like there wasn't enough lounging space by the Jacuzzi area. We were too close together. There is very little space between the lockers and sinks in some of the rows in the locker rooms . Also, I think shoes should be taken off once you enter the locker rooms and not put in our individual lockers to keep that changing area clean. read more

My visit here was due to a Spa Party for a friend. She purchased the Bath & Brunch package (99$) per person for our group which didn't include treatment...which I personally upgraded to the Bath & Brunch Upgrade to include a 30-min Swedish massage(168$). My group had a party of 18 people. I'd like to say I appreciate Rose (the event coordinator) for her efforts, but this experience was not PREMIER by any means as the website titles it/advertises. I expected way more professionalism, luxury than what was offered. Those 4/5 star reviews are because they offer 10% off next service if you leave a review for them. This spa does not sit on much square footage and is not a large space, therefore a group of 18 should not have been told they could be accommodated especially while other patrons are there. It's cute thoooo. The locker room is bright, has tampons, mouthwash, $1 razors, Qtips/cotton balls , and has ample showers. They did however only have one bathroom... and I did feel like they could've had makeup wipes and lotion, but that's neither here or there. Reason One: The lounge area is not big enough to relax comfortably as a group without feeling like you are disturbing or distracting others. We were served champagne as apart of our package which was a 10-15$ House bottle... with plastic champagne flutes. YES, I SAID PLASTIC. Plastic flutes... those disposable flutes that you find at the dollar store... yea, those same ones that you have to attach the stem to the base. In addition to that, we were told to make sure we didn't "take" the plastic glasses with us when we left because "many people have been stealing them" *looks around awkwardly* who is stealing plastic flutes ? Who??? Reason 2: When it came to our "brunch" we were told it had to be broken into two groups of 9 at different times 1:30 & 3pm because "the kitchen/chef could not prepare all meals at once"...which if you're there for someone's birthday...is a little awkward if you're unable to enjoy the meal you came for with them. Especially when there was a set menu and our orders were noted a week prior to our arrival. Not only did we have to eat separately, BUT after we were seated for brunch we waited over 40mins for our food with no appetizers. Did I mention that the eating area is in that cozy size lounge area? When appetizers were served we got cornbread (still wondering why cornbread) on paper plates and when we did finally receive our food after 50mins it was served on plastic plates with plastic utensils, and plastic cups for our cocktails. My sangria was in a plastic wine glass!When someone asked for additional condiments, we were told to share the 3 mini containers we were given across our table of 9. After demanding additional, we were given extra condiments. One cocktail was included with our brunch, and they ensured we understood we were not allowed to have any drink with top shelf liquor. Reason 3: The wet lounge is VERY SMALL. As you can see from pictures posted the jacuzzi is small which fit 6-8 ppl comfortably. There is also a cold jacuzzi which can fit 4-6 ppl comfortably. There are also only 6 lounge chairs available for use. With that said, our party was indeed large and we were not the only patrons during our time there.. so imagine how that went. Overall- this spa has a calm relaxing vibe. I did indeed enjoy my massage, my masseuse was amazing. The 2 saunas were large enough to seat a generous amount of guests, but the steam room was not and half that size. I found myself spending a lot of time waiting around rather than being able to enjoy the facilities. Would I recommend? No, I personally do not feel the pricing is in line with what services are offered. 99$ No treatment included-to only be able to use a small jacuzzi or 2 saunas? It was worth 55-60$ maybe 65$ max to be generous. Our coordinator Rose was nice person... but I have to say I found her to be unorganized and seemed flustered majority of the time. When a member of our party wanted to upgrade her service to include a chocolate massage, she had to be reminded twice before the person said forget it. When she told us to head to the lounge area to be able to cut the cake we waited 15-20mins for her to come back with our cake. The Massage was great ! But the vibe very mediocre! Half the lockers didn't work which made me late to my massage . The food very tough and chewy for the other order . It was my first time there and I was looking for luxury ! The photo advertised for the lovers room looked beautiful , but when I got there it was very subpar. I should have known for that price it would be ! It was my man's birthday and that wasn't the vision I had of the experience . I think this place needs an upgrade . I went to Body by Brooklyn for the first time this past Friday with my sister. Pre birthday. I loved everything about the place. I got a Groupon that consist of a hour in a private room, champagne and light snacks....we also had access to the wet water lounge for the rest the time we were there. The Turkish steam room ...AMAZING. The staff was awesome, pleasant and helpful. Not to mention one of them shared my name Shameka. The Manger was great and extended his time to us as well . I did not get a massage however I left this place feeling so relaxed. I would recommend this place and I will definitely be back for my massage very soon. read more

This review is for the woman manager on duty at Body by Brooklyn on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at10am. I arrived for my appointment at approximately 9:45am. I'm met with a welcome from the receptionist with the manager standing next to her. I'm given a robe from the manager. I go into the women's locker room and I notice something red in the sink. I see a used tissue on the sink. With these 2 things I pull a can of disinfectant out of my bag and begin to spray. I take a tissue to wipe down the bench by the lockers and it gets stuck on a sticky substance. At that point I go back to the front desk to share with them that the locker room probably has not been addressed since I'm seeing all of this. The manager jumps in and insists that the they had cleaned the women's room. I ask her to come with me to witness what I was seeing. She reluctantly came and saw it for herself. I go to take a shower before my massage. In the shower there is a wrapper. In the next shower there is a razor wrapper, ugh!!! I take a shower, get a magnificent hour long massage, and come back to my locker and NOTHING has been addressed. I was in there for an hour and nothing? During COVID you're just going to NOT clean obvious areas? I put on my bathing suit to get into the jacuzzi and the wet lounge has a sign on it. Yes it's closed. The manager was standing there when I walked in and she nor the receptionist informed me of this pertinent fact. I was livid. The receptionist apologized profusely, the "manager" was out of sight. The manager managed to do nothing to have the space sanitized. And had an unpleasant attitude. I've come her several times and it is a really nice spot in my opinion but but not this day. 4/12/22 was disgusting thanks to the person in charge that day. read more
