This place has gone down to the dump! We had a 10am appointment and we got there ahead of time. The place was dirty! Used water bottles and robes were laying all over the place. The wet lounge was flooding and not able to be used. The cleaning lady was running around cleaning. The only good thing was the massage. The clientele are people of questionable character. It felt like I was in a seedy stripper video. Will never go there again. read more

I had a very pleasant experience at Body By Brooklyn. I went there yesterday for a RED FLOWER HAMMAM TREATMENT I purchased through Gilt City. I practically had the place to myself at 11am on a Monday. I got in early to use the wet area (jacuzzi, plunge pool, steam & sauna). I found it a little inconsistent, the jacuzzi wasn't hot enough and one of the saunas was so hot I couldn't sit on the wood benches. But I made the best of it. My treatment started promptly and Julia was my therapist. She was great. Personable but not overly friendly and she gave me a great treatment which lasted 1.5 hours and was basically a scrub, body mask, scalp massage and hydration. It was incredibly relaxing. I kinda wish I'd booked a massage too, as I really wanted one after she was done. After the treatment was completed I mentioned to the front desk girl that I was returning in a couple of weeks for a couples massage and she offered to show me the room we'd be getting our treatments in. I thought that was great. She reminded me when to come so we would be able to really enjoy our time there. I went to unwind on a random Saturday. Karen helped me do just that. She was fantastic. She asked me the usual questions as far as do I have any pain, how is pressure, etc.. My hubby and I had Groupon passes from a couple months ago for Body by Brooklyn for all day access to the wet lounge and finally used them a couple days ago. It's a beautiful spa, clean and welcoming. The staff is courteous and professional. They gave us a tour of the facility and the spa looks exactly like it does on the website. We can't wait to return for a massage and a facial. I would definitely recommend this place to my sisters so we could spend a relaxing day there together as well. read more

I thought I would treat my sister-in-law to a relaxing afternoon after a hectic few days. Turns out we were overcharged TWICE on the bill, and I had to bring the discrepancy to the attention of upper management. When I booked I was told it is company policy to charge $ 50. Per person per service, with the understanding that the 50 bucks would come off the final bill. Not so! I had a hard charge of $ 300. On my card and a bill which did not reflect my deposit amount. The policy is not mentioned on the brochure, and when I overheard the reservationist on the phone with other all he asked for was a credit card number to hold the time slot, and not $ 50 per person per service. In addition to experiencing many of the other inconveniences that the other reviewers have mentioned (no clean towels for over 20 minutes, backups at checkout, lukewarm jacuzzi) I later found out my credit card was charged three different amounts for my day there. After contesting the 2 of the charges and eventually getting one of them refunded, weeks later I received a COLLECTION NOTICE from them from a debt collector. If making dozens of calls to the management and accounting department at BbB, your credit card company and a debt collection company sound like a relaxing way to spend the weeks following a mediocre spa day, definitely check out Body by Brooklyn. So i really wanted this place to be great, Not perfect but great. I paid for the VIP suite for my husband and I. Its advertised on the web site with a bottle of champagne and fruit platter. Well we got nothing. When i called the next day to inquire i was told it was a glass of champagne.No mention of the fruit. We did have a glass at the bar which were served in dirty glasses (no i'm not being picky) even the girl at the bar didn't know what was on them. We were charged $14 for each drink. It looked like lipstick to me but she didn't have a problem making our drinks in them until i asked for clean glasses. It was also all over the napkins she gave me. The young lady at the bar was giving another customer Psychic advice, which was a super weird thing to be doing but...I guess. Anyway the massages were ok...Not great Not good but just ok. I had hot stone and my husband had deep tissue.Just ok. Like i mentioned earlier we booked the vip suite which was advertised as with jacuzzi and private but all we received were massages. No chance to use the jacuzzi and my husband and i were not allowed to stay in the suite afterwards to enjoy. It was kind of a bait and switch. The music was so loud and obnoxious. Now i like future and fetty wap like everyone else but they are not who i want to listen to when i'm trying to relax. To top off this sub par experience they charged my acct 15 different times for $1. A dollar. My bank put a fraud alert on my card and it took about 30 mins to check out. My wife and I enjoyed our three-year anniversary here today and had a lovely time! It's definitely different to your regular spa but once you know that it's got a lovely vibe and we stayed here for five hours! Our massage was really good - we both felt very relaxed and pleased with the experience - and then we just chilled, read and snoozed for hours. The thermal pool is perfect and the hot sauna was really good too. I didn't try the steam room but my wife said it was good. All in all, it was very good value for money and I'd definitely come back. read more

Since we couldn't find the place we called to say we would be a little late, when we got there one of the misuse's had left. I went here with a friend in a wed afternoon for her bday. We arrived around 4:40 and got in right away. We handed in our ids and got Keys to our lockers. It's clean and spacious in the locker room but the part where the lockers are seem a lil tight. We changed into our bathing suits made a exit to the left and waited for our masseuse. The masseuse came out called our names and we went to our respective rooms. She shook my hand introduced herself and told me to take off my bathing suit and lay on the table. She came in positioned me and started the massage. She was ok I had better, actually my shoulders are hurting a little when I touch it. I had a hour long massage but I can honestly say that she worked my entire body twisting it and turning it which did feel good. We went into the wet lounge which had a small jacuzzi, some lounge chairs, one sauna and two steam rooms. U paid 124 for the massage. I'm not sure if I will come back here again but non the less it was a decent experience. read more

Pros: Good pricing on spa services, Great food, Great drinks, great atmosphere , great staff, great therapists ( with one exception ;) Cons: Food and drinks pricing , phone customer service ( but this was one person my friends booked and had better luck and I called another day and they were very friendly) , the one bad apple(therapist) out of the bunch. All and all I would go again I think if they work out the kinks this place will be one of the best !!! OK so despite the mixed reviews I ended up going to this place because my friend loves it ! ( However they are a little overpriced especially the drinks) You can walk around with drinks from your spa treatment to the lounge area, they also have a sauna , steam room & jacuzzi where you can hang out as well. Very nice and relaxing loved this spot it's called the wet lounge. Everything is accessible. They also have 1 manicurists ( just one :( only down point) but cool none the less. The staff was pretty friendly too. My massage therapist was AMAZING !!!! I absolutely loved her!! She is probably the main reason I will go back again !!! :) Bad Points :( - Although the drinks we delicious they were $13 each + an up charge of $3 "top-shelf vodka" which they don't tell you until you get the bill at the end .....IDK what to really say about it I guess it's OK but just to be honest $16 per drink is a little steep just depends on how you feel about drink prices!! Food was amazing as well but again all the food on the menu is a flat fee of $20 per entree which to me is kinda crazy because they have everything from omelettes to stuffed shrimp (so gooood!!) but it's all the same price!!! Crazy because eggs are a lot less expensive than shrimp ...."just saying". Also the food was a tad bit slow :( but it worked out. I guess you can call it a convenience charge lol. My friends said it was cool but they probably could really tweak the pricing a bit. Next they charge $2.00 for flip flops( which are required throughout the facility) , while this is not a huge deal, if the representative on the phone said this to me I would have brought my own also I really feel like it's a little tacky to charge for things like flip flops...... I mean they give you free flips flops at most nail salons and your not spending half as much but whatever ( NOTE: bring your own flip flops ). On too the UGLY!!!!! ;0 - Well I will not get into a whole story about the UGLY TRUTH about one particular unprofessional therapist that works here but read the review that was posted by T t. on 1/27/2012 there is a lot of truth to that story. The only thing I would take away from her review is the specifying on race, while there is nothing wrong with specifying race, there is more than one black masseur that works at this spa that fits her description. Both I actually saw when I was there and they were extremely nice and one which my friend absolutely loved and wants to see again for her next treatment ... just keep this in mind. Other than that I was a little offended that the phone representative wasn't very polite or helpful at all. I know a lot about customer service and I fell that because they represent the first point of contact for the company that they should be extremely professional and helpful and I didn't get that. I have been a regular customer at this Spa for years, but I will be discontinuing my service. I went there to relax and enjoy the facilities on September 2nd , hoping because of the holiday weekend many people would be out celebrating. I expected to arrive at a tranquil environment but I was quickly confronted with loud obnoxious guest! There seemed to be parties going on with NO control of the guest volume. I complained to manager Rose, and she was uncaring to my concerns. She was very aggressive with me and told me "there is nothing I can do" I felt disrespected! Especially as a loyal guest of the Spa. I did enjoy my massage as usual, but I am very displeased with how the guest were handle. The manger was also very loud herself! Talking with the party guest about the owners and apologizing for the poor service they received because the food menus were very limited. To the owner please hire a better manager to Run your establishment! This was outrageous! read more

this is not a spa. the wet room smells terrible and had not been cleaned in a long time. i chose not to get into the jacuzzi b/c it looked filthy and the steam room had a foul and mildewy odor. there were no clean towels and no water available. i do not recommend this place for relaxation. in fact, i don't recommend it at all. read more

This is my favorite and only go to location for a body treatment. I received a Swedish body massage by Ron, who has become my personal choice always. Love the fact that this spa has a full wet lounge (sauna, baths and steam rooms) and all of the ambience necessary to create a soothing and relaxing spa treatment/pampering experience. I have been coming annually for the last two years, but have been here a few times before that. I have since committed to getting a treatment every two months. Strongly recommend this spa. P.S. there is also a bar and restaurant on location. I had an issue once that required management's attention which was dealt with favorably and I thus continue to patronize this business. I bought the couple package for the VIP suite for my boyfriend and I and I wasn't impressed. If you have money to waste than it's okay for the experience but it was nothing memorable about this place and my boyfriend agreed. The VIP suite is mediocre and this is why the post picture on an angle to make it appear more than what it is. Also the wet lounge is a joke and I was under the impression there was a pool and larger selection of dipping waters it's only two a small plunge pool that two men can't fit in without feeling Awkward. The steam room order of sweat over powered the lemon scent. We were suppose to get fresh fruits didn't see not one fruit. I also ordered drinks at the bar that wasn't strong and over priced two drinks run you 30 bucks. The massage I paid for a sixty min massage and it def wasn't 60 mins more like 45 and that turned me off. The only thing positive is the lockers are well kept and the showers which is a big deal so I appreciated that. read more

Sometimes we underestimate the value of self-care. But we shouldn't! Our bodies need to be pampered. Our bodies need to be cleansed and feel rejuvenated. I'm so thankful for the hospitality given by Body By Brooklyn. I planned a spa day for the women at my dance studio and it was absolutely phenomenal. We all enjoyed spectacular services such as facials, massages, and body scrubs as well as relaxing in the jacuzzi, taking a dip in the cold pool, and detoxifying in the saunas. It doesn't even feel like you're in Brooklyn. I love the atmosphere. I love the staff. I love this relaxing oasis. It truly was an amazing time with some amazing women. I booked a Birthday package for my mother last week March 15 which included a 90 minute Chocolate Massage 30 minute Calming Facial Brunch with Champagne Cocktail Now my mother said the massage and the facial that she got was great, however the service from the receptionist was absolutely horrible. It was so bad that she had to call while she was there to complain to me. I felt terrible because I sent my mother there on her birthday and I wanted her to have a relaxing experience and it was up until she had to place her order for her food. Long story short my mother placed an order from the limited menu and the woman walked away and never came back. My mother realizing that she has been sitting for quite a while got up and walked to the front to see the young woman giggling on her cellphone. My mother complained to the young woman and her response was "so are you just going to leave". Terrible service! They did not have the Caesar Salad that she ordered and instead of the young woman coming back and telling her that she just felt the need to talk on her phone and completely ignore the customer in this establishment. Also the hot tub according to my mother, never warmed up. She told me that when people came and ask how long would it take the same young lady kept on saying 10 minutes. which was false since my mother was there for over an hour and it never heated up. By the end my mother was given a $7 salad that was purchased from the store on the corner and she was not able to use the hot tub because it never heated up. Body By Brooklyn you need to retrain your staff on how to provide better customer service and also make sure your equipment is working adequately so that the patron would be able to use what they paid for. I was actually in the process of organizing a group birthday package but that was immediately tossed out the window after my mothers terrible experience. read more

So I have been going to B3 since March 2007. I find that the staff members are always courteous, and as helpful as they can be, and Ron is the best asset that B3 has to offer!!!. Initially I LOVED, and RAVED about B3, but I have found that the level of service has taken a nose dive. I was at B3 yesterday with my aunt and sister for Mother's day. We were there for at least 8 hours. I ordered brunch at 12:30 PM and received it at after 2:00 PM. I could tell right away what the problem was. 1. B3 was under staffed for Mother's Day!, 2. There was no system in place to handle the high volume of customers! Mother's Day is a huge spa day, make sure that you are adequately staffed on high volume days. Explain to customers at check in that there is a 2 hour wait for brunch. Have customers set a time for brunch, place their order, and have staff notify the customer 30 minutes before that they must be seated in 30 minutes because their meal will be ready. I don't mind waiting, just let me know in advance. You are losing so much money by not offering snacks on the weekends. I was at B3 for 8 hours, I ate at 2 pm and was hungry again at about 6:30, I just wanted chips and dip but it wasn't offered on the weekends. Big mistake!!! I was really disappointed to see old, dingy, towels with holes! The robes looked dingy too. And my aunt was served coffee out of a paper cup! I have noticed that over the past 2 years B3 lacks managerial direction and that is what is causing the level of service to steadily decline. I would describe the managerial style of B3 as extreme chaos!! There is no one in place that knows how to run this business. The sad thing is that the staff is often verbally abused by customers because of the poor leadership of B3. RON PLEASE OPEN A SPA SO MY FAMILY AND I CAN STOP COMING TO B3!!!! read more

I went to Body by Brooklyn for my 30th birthday celebration with 12 of my sisters and girlfriends. I received a post natal massage from Julia and she was amazing! The food and drinks were really good. What I like about Body by Brooklyn is that even if you don't get a service such as a massage or facial, you can still have a great time in the wet lounge, steam room, and saunas. I would definitely recommend it as the staff was really great and accommodating for such a large group. read more

Be very careful when pricing out your event here at this establishment. I recently went on the website and it was very misleading because of this I called just to get some clarification and I thought everything was finalized. However when I went to check out my card was charged twice for the down payment of $150.00 each. Then I was told an initial price of $338.00 expecting to pay my balance of $203 instead I was charged the $203.00 plus $210.00 which is apparently another payment just to be in the VIP suite. This was the main reason why I called just so I can get some clarity and wouldn't have to get any surprise bill at the end of the service. Don't get me wrong the service was great I had a great time but that left such a bad taste and seemed so unprofessional that I am seriously writing this review to express to them how I felt. I recently went to Body by Brooklyn as part of bachelorette party festivities and was pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean and I didn't see anything that made me grossed out - well there was one thing - as part of the introduction to the facility they take you around to see the space and the Wet Lounge where everybody is hanging out and relaxing in their bathing suits (BTW - its CO-ED). When you walk in you're still in your shoes from outside, so the floor where you can potentially be barefoot is crawling with bacteria - GROSS!!!!!. Make sure you wear flip flops at all times. Next - the wet lounge is small! I can't see more then 10-15 people being in there at the same time, comfortably that is! There are only about 8-10 lounge chairs, and the Jacuzzi/sauna's etc can only fit so many people. So if you come here on a day when it's packed, you can be in for an uncomfortable and annoying surprise. Pleasantly enough there weren't that many people there when we went so we lucked out by having practically the entire space to ourselves. Next - changing rooms - only 1 bathroom? What is up with that?? You have to go outside the locker rooms to use the other bathrooms - that's a bit annoying, no? I got a deep tissue massage which was good, but not amazing, for $120 (a bit steep for my Brooklyn taste) AND we were a group of 8 all getting services, so couldn't they give us a group discount?! In my opinion the prices can come down a bit, and they need to put more time into training their staff so that they don't look as frazzled all the time. One of my friends had an issue with her masseuse when the girl started 10 minutes later then when she was supposed to, but she finished right on time jipping my friend of her 10 extra minutes. Is this a money thirsty business, or are they here to have their attendees feel relaxed and worry - free? Worth another shot...just for the overall relaxing experience, but I can see how several of the issues we encountered can be a deal breaker for others. More stressful than relaxing. In fact to be completely honest it was the worst experience I have ever had at a spa. We had a party reservation for 8. First there were no robes. When we did receive them they were a light gray very dingy.. Then they had not lockers. When we all finally got lockers key didn't match the locker. This happened to 4 of the women in our party. The food wasn't the greatest but thankfully the drinks made up for the food. Last but defiantly least we had to leave a deposit for this adventure and I just found out from my bank it was not released back into my account it was actually withdrawn. If it were possible to give a 3.5 I would... I've been to BBB a few times and each time I've had an enjoyable time. The best part is that when you receive a treatment you get to lounge around the wet lounge as long as you want - big big plus! Its not a super-luxury, but its clean and has a good relaxed vibe about it. The not so great part - is that the robes and towels are in need of upgrading. Also, this last time I was there, they were running a bit behind schedule and we were booked for an hour's couple massage which, not only weren't great (they were good), but also felt really rushed. We didn't complain and just made the best of it - had a drink and hung out for a while at the wet lounge. The service is good. Overall, would definitely go again for another treatment and to just chill - the place is great for making you forget about the outside world even if its just for an afternoon. read more

My boyfriend took me there for my birthday. We booked a Swedish couples massage for an hour. The front desk staff was ok except that nobody showed us the place or gave us any instruction. So we asked where we were supposed to go after changing. Basically the guy at the front desk didn't really care and was like "well, change and then go to the lounge". We did so and waited for 30 minutes in the lounge/lobby before the massage therapists showed up. My boyfriend liked his massage. Mine was really bad. I'm used to have massages. All my previous experiences were good. However, this therapist hurt my muscles for an hour even though I asked him a couple of times to be more gentle. After the massage, we went to the Wet Lounge. The lounge is okay. The amenities are good but nothing exceptional. We used the sauna and the jacuzzi. The problem was that there was no towel either in the Wet Lounge or in the locker rooms. The staff said that they were all drying. Also, the robes were stained. Basically, the amenities are okay. The service is pretty bad. It's expensive for what it is. read more
