Enjoyed coming in here and letting my nephews try some hot wings. They definitely enjoyed trying some different flavors and they tried the fried pickles as well. I loved the pickles, but they weren't huge fans. We went in a little early and by the time we were done it was packed.

I love that they offer vegan drum sticks and vegan nuggets. I also love that the sauces are clearly labeled including if they have added sugar. This is amazing. I wish all restaurants were so open and good with labeling. The interior is also beautiful. Unfortunately, our wings came out extremely overcooked. They should be flash fried; just a little golden and they were nearly black. Having already waited over 30 minutes (we got there at 5pm!) for 12 wings, we suffered through them instead of sending them back. They were also really scant with the sauce. There was barely any sauce. We ordered mild buffalo and BBQ. We could barely taste the sauces. The vegan ranch was good, however. The wings were barely edible, mostly bc they were so overcooked. The breaded nuggets were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like rancid fish sticks. I think they must not change their oil regularly. Overall very disappointed but hopefully they will improve. They have beer (their own) and cocktails with some rather cool names and concoctions. We did not try any. Lastly this is one of the LOUDEST places I've ever been to. I couldn't hear my friends. Lastly the

Wings were small and while I understand this is Bend and everything is expensive it was just too expensive for what we got. Just a basic wing and too small for the hype, they seriously told me they had large wings. Service was ok and atmosphere was decent. Stand in line order food get a number they bring it to you. Variety of sauces and flavors was good.

Fire on the Mountain is a small Portland-based chain that recently opened in Bend. It's a wing restaurant that also serves appetizers, salads, sandwiches and wraps. The menu includes two varieties of vegetarian/vegan fake chicken items. They offer beer, cider and wine. Beer is either their own brand on draft or one of a couple local brews in cans. Wine is canned. - 9-piece wings: Ordered with medium Buffalo sauce (they have quite a few choices here) which is about as advertised - medium hot. They are messy with a lot of sauce added. While I ordered and paid for nine pieces (actually half wings), I received twelve. The wings are small. Not bad but really nothing special. If you like wings, you'll probably be satisfied. - Setup is fast casual: order at the counter, they'll bring food and drinks to you. Annoyingly, they ask for a phone number along with your name. I declined to give my phone number - they have no business asking. - There's a very small bar area, a few booths and several high top tables. Mobility challenged folks should have no trouble with the booths. - LOUD. Very loud. They have the music cranked up to the point of making conversation difficult. I took my wings to go although I had wanted to try one of their in-house draft beers. - Adequate parking in front of the restaurant. FOTM is actually on Campfire Hotel property across the street from the main hotel. - Website is borderline useless. It doesn't provide the location or the complete hours of operation. Overall, A-OK.

Chicken tenders are pretty small and I expected more especially if I'm paying more than $13 dollars. Fries are sad looking. I like the options have being able to order naked wings with the sauce on the side. Service is friendly and fast. Whole restaurant is clean and welcoming.

Not the best or friendliest experience. I do not think we will be back. Wings were good, staff did not give a sh*t.

Flavor of the wings are pretty good but a few of the wings were very small and more like 1/2 a wing.

Food: Really good artisan cuisine, this is way better than typical "pub-fare" Their pizza is amazing too! Grab a beer, get some grub, and grab a shirt before you leave. You must go there when you're downtown window shopping. Prices: $$ What you'd expect for such a great place! Parking: This is downtown, so before rush-hour, it's not bad (be mindful of the parking time posted on the signs). When the busser came to clear the plates, she asked how everything was. I said good except the Mac was not great (and was basically untouched). Her disdainful reply, looking at it, was "well, that's a lot of pepper." The pepper wasn't the problem, and being snide to a customer who hadn't complained or asked for anything despite my disappointment in the dish was unnecessary and rude. On the plus side, the beer was good and what I expect from Deschutes. Given that there are a bunch of brewery restaurants within a few blocks, I would have expected more flavorful food and absolutely a better experience with the staff.

Half the fun is searching the property for it--and don't worry, I won't spoil where we found it! Once inside, it truly felt like a hidden gem. The space is cozy and intimate, with comfortable places to sit and a full bar that feels tucked away from the rest of the property. It was especially festive during the holidays, with Christmas drink specials adding to the charm. I ordered the NA Merry Cherry, which was gingery, slightly spicy, and super refreshing--a great non-alcoholic option. My wife had The Countess and said it was absolutely delicious. Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and the fun of discovering it, The Broom Closet was a total win. If you're ever staying at McMenamins Bend, make sure you take the time to search for The Broom Closet--it's well worth the adventure!

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.
