You can tell that this place is a passion project. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by Erica, one of the owners, who shared with us the vision behind this place. The couple duo (Darryl and Erica) build all their props and puzzles in-house. They offer four rooms by the time I am writing this review and each room feels thoughtfully designed and distinct. Our team did three of their four rooms (the fourth room is for the kiddies) and we were blown away. As someone who travels for escape rooms, these rooms are puzzle-forward but it also is not your typical "find the code and open the lock" escape room. I wanted to shout out Skylar, who was our GM for two of the rooms we did. He was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, especially when we wanted to spend more time debriefing the experience and the puzzles we didn't get to see since we divided and conquered. He took the time to answer our questions and asked us about our escape room journey as well! That kind of care and attention really elevates the whole experience. I recommend bringing a group of 3-4. The Key of Destiny could be done by 2 experienced people but the other rooms should have 3 or more people based on the sheer volume of puzzles. read more

Darryl has used his creative abilities to muster three amazing escape rooms that are all unique, captivating and refreshing -- nothing cookie cutter here. Both the props and puzzle design are done in-house, so you don't get anything generic and as a result, you leave feeling like you had an experience that can't be duplicated anywhere else. The difficulty for all of the rooms has also been fine tuned to ensure that you're getting an optimal amount of puzzles for your dollar, without the games being overwhelming or too short, which is also nice. I also wanted to give thanks to Skylar who was our GM for the past few visits. Skylar was nice enough to work with us on some special requests we had and made us feel at home. I really felt he went out of his way to make us happy and spent a considerable amount of time with us to answer any additional questions we had during our debrief. We did the Egyptian room and it was amazing. The puzzles were well done and well made. They were all hands on and had reasonable answers to them. We only had 2 of us and were able to escape. Definitely would have been easier with more people since there are multiple rooms to get through and lots of puzzles to figure out. My partner and I absolutely love this place and these rooms. We've done about 15 escape rooms all across the country and this place is definitely up there. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and fabricated and are just oh so fun. I will say, though, that the thing that really stands out to me as excellent at this place is the people. We've had both Skylar and Ken as game masters and they both did a fantastic job of guiding us through the experience and creating good, fun vibes. This was a very fun experience and the room was amazing! We did the Paradox room with 5 people (1 boomer, 2 gen x and 2 gen z), 3 of whom were new to escape rooms. My best friend and I attempted to do this escape room. It took us two different times. We loved everything about it! The couple that run it are amazing. You can tell that they love what they do and have a lot of pride in the room they created. It's comprised of three seperate rooms. You have to solve each room to get to the next one. This escape room stands apart from all the newer high tech rooms. You have a variety of puzzles that require using logic, riddles, and common sense. There is a reason this escape room has 5 stars. When a new room opens in the area and you are one of the first to play it, there's always a risk that it won't go well. But what is an escape room addict to do when you've played nearly every room in So Cal? So off we went, this time with my 3 boys and girlfriend, to Boggled Escape Rooms to play The Key of Destiny. We were greeted by Erica and Darryl who were very warm and welcoming. We talked a little about escape rooms and it turns out that they were relatively new to escape rooms and haven't played many (10 or so)? Uh oh. Red Alert. Abort! Abort! *sigh* Too late. I already paid ... and drove ... with 3 children ... who were eager to get started on their adventure of a lifetime. So with my expectations in the basement, we headed into the Egyptian themed room. Room 1 - Wow! Beautiful room, puzzles were logical and inventive. Production was immersive. Definitely exceeded my (albeit low) expectations! Rooms 2 and 3 continued the trend - good flow, well planned transitions between the nonlinear puzzles. The room is not without its flaws and I could pick out a couple of things that I would change but overall, it was a solid fun room that I would highly recommend, especially for families. Out of the 380 rooms I've played to date, The Key of Destiny ranks at #124 - a solid 4-star room. The 5th star goes to the owners, Erica and Darryl who were awesome, friendly and personable and did little things like taking the time to talk to each of my boys and learn their names. Excited that a new room finally opened up in the area. We have done every room west of the 405 all the way to Santa Barbara. The owner area really cool and seem to love what they day. That made us feel good that the room was going to interesting. Egyptian themes room, which is new for the area. Multiple room room which is always great, except you know there are multiple rooms instead of it being a surprise door. All the puzzles were challenging but not over complicated and everything made sense. The rooms were not essentially linear but all the clues/puzzles all lead to one final conclusion.
