We popped in for a quick breakfast on the way to a doctor appointment, and this former New Yorker was excited to try a real bagel again. Let me start with the customer service, because it was absolutely on point. The woman at the counter explained the bagels, when they bake them, how to store them, and basically gave us a full master class in Bagels. I LOVED her energy. We split an egg, cheddar, and bacon on a sesame bagel, and it was everything you want in a breakfast bagel sandwich. It brought me right back to my old NYC bodega days, which is the highest compliment I can give a bagel outside of New York. We grabbed a few bagels to go as well. The seasonal pumpkin was delicious, and the salt bagel was good too, although I wish it had been a touch saltier. All in all, a great stop and a place I will happily return to. This is an authentic bagel experience. I've never been to New York, but I imagine it being like this: Walk in, place an order, small chit chat--boom, there it is. Pay the lady, go about your business. Straightforwardly delicious. The aesthetic is consistent with a place that sells delicious bagels. Never a long wait. What I love the most about this place is the authenticity of it all. I have never once been "prompted" by her screen to tip. That really stands out to me. Sure, there's a tip jar, because you'd be foolish to not allow people to do it. When I think of "shop local", this is the epitome of that, and these are friendly business owners that do a great job, at a fair price, with a positive attitude. Best bagels in DFW! I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to try them. I came here on a Sunday morning and people were constantly coming through but luckily I didn't have to wait in a line. It's an order and go type of place so no tables to sit. Great to pick up on the way to work. I ordered a lox sandwich on an onion bagel, an egg and sausage sandwich, and an egg and bacon sandwich, both on everything bagels. They make it to order so the sandwiches are hot and fresh, wrapped in foil. I also grabbed some extra bagels. Had to try out their French toast, cinnamon raisin and sesame bagels for later in the week. The bagels have a nice crust without being too tough. It's the perfect bite, soft and chewy without giving my jaw a major workout. In Taiwan, we call it the right amount of chewy "QQ" texture :) I'm a sucker for an egg + sausage anything so this will be my go-to from now on but I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors and sandwiches! Don't quit your day job... While the bagels are above average, everything else was way beyond sub-par. Maybe in 1980 it was trendy to cook all your food in the microwave, but when I go out to eat, I don't want my food microwaved. Their "kitchen" is located right at the register for all to see. It consist of a table with two basic household microwaves stacked on top of each other on one end and two basic household toasters on the other end, with a island in the center that has veggies and soft drinks on ice. I ordered a breakfast bagel with egg and sausage. They had petri dishes sitting on a shelf for who knows how long of some liquid. They grabbed one and tossed it in a microwave until it grew. It looked like a scary science experiment. Then they dumped it on my bagel. I have not microwaved eggs ever and would never openly choose to eat at a place who holds their quality with such disregard. I then asked about the breakfast sausage as I never saw her add it, and she said "it's in there" as she handed me the wrapped up item. I walked out the door and was in shock at what I had just seen. I opened it to see that they microwaved not just the eggs but also the sausage to cook it. The eggs had surrounded the sausage. I then threw it in the trash. Stick to making bagels and take the rest of the variations off your board. Otherwise, invest in a quality commercial grill. Do it right or don't do it at all. read more

This is a small Bagel shop nestled in Flower Mound that delivers seriously tasty Bagels. They have a store policy to not toast bagels unless a customer requests it. The bagels are made daily with their own dough that gets boiled then baked, hence their name. I got their homemade scallion cream cheese on garlic bagel. That first bite had everything (perfect chewy texture, garlic aroma, fragrant scallion-flavored cream cheese). Their bacon egg and cheese bagel tasted really good too. Stopped by to check this beloved bagel, shop, the establishment is very straight forward, no fancy anything. They sell bagels and that's it. We arrived about 10:30 and they had very few choices left (Good for them!!). We got 2 plain with cream cheese, and they had them ready super quick. One less star just because they didn't ask if we wanted them toasted, I assumed they would, but they only do if you ask. We noticed the sign when they were already packing them. There's something to be said about a Bagel place that regularly sells out. This is a family business, owned and operated. They were very patient through the Flower Mound processes required to open a food-service business, even when the Town didn't seem to know how to classify a bagel place's needs. They WANT to be here, they love this town! My favorite go-to here is the everything bagel with egg salad. I love that they offer sandwiches (breakfast or otherwise) on their delicious bagels, including a hearty portion of lox if you so choose! The asiago bagel is another household favorite, as well as the cinnamon raisin, and egg. Note: what they do: In-house made bagels (and the schmears and such!). Occasionally a deliciously dense crumb cake or other house-made good that's DEFINITELY worth a try. This is not a cafe to sit and enjoy your bagel sandwich with coffee. Honestly, one star is GENEROUS. My husband has a stomach of steel and has lived on the road and eaten some questionable things before and liked it. Just under $10 for a lox sandwich with just the right amount of lox would have been a good price 5-10 years ago, let alone in this high inflation economy. I got a lox sandwich on an everything bagel and my husband got one on a salt bagel. We were both happy. I don't normally get bagels untoasted but that's the default here, and I wasn't disappointed. It looked like they had a pot of coffee that they were selling, but I wouldn't think of this as a place to go for coffee; just bagels. And it's not a sit down place, so plan on taking your order to go. FYI, they have a sign requesting that you pay in cash when possible due to high credit card fees, since they're a small family-run place. The unassuming storefront with it's simple sign may not immediately grab your attention, but as the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover! After my first visit it was obvious why so many local bagel connoisseurs have come forth to declare their love and devotion to this place serving authentic NY style bagels. Apparently, it's something that this area had been lacking until this shop opened up. I have tried a few of their bagel flavors but the everything bagel is the one I dream about. Just the smell alone makes my mouth water before I can even take them out of the bag. And the experience just keeps getting better from there upon biting into these crunchy, chewy, savory bagels topped with their light, fluffy cream cheese and lox. The flavor and texture combination is amazing! As a spicy food fanatic I can't pass up the opportunity to have jalapenos added to my cream cheese although the plain version still works well. Always looking for bagels like I had growing up in NY and boy these come pretty close! Large bagels with a shell you gotta sink your teeth in and then soft inner bread.. wow. I got there pretty late after 9am so wasn't much of a selection left. I was able to snag a cinnamon raisin (great with cream cheese!), multi grain, and 2 everything bagels. After going home and eating them, I shoulda gotten more than 1/2 dozen!! I did see a French toast flavor bagel and hope to try that one next time. Looks like they also have egg sandwiches like egg salad and breakfast sandwiches, I've got to try those too!
