I went thru thru the line at 7 pm and waited at the speaker for 10 mins and no one helped us, we pulled up the window and the young lady who was just standing around waved us off as if they were closed. Just another Terrible experience here at the Matthews Restaurant. Let's see, Customer Service is an Oxymoron and waited for 10 minutes with no other customer in front of us and nobody inside. Saturday morning would not be the same without a trip to Bojangles to get a biscuit. You know how McDonald's has been doing those commercials showing that they make fresh biscuits every morning? That's because BOJO's does! Bojangles has amazing air and fluff to their buttermilk biscuits. The biscuit actually sticks a little to the roof of your mouth as you're eating it. Then you take a swig of coffee and all is right with the world. The bo rounds... don't get me started on bo rounds they are in a separate hash brown category. They are a bit larger then chick-fil-a's and made with onions which gives them a different taste that I think we can all enjoy. When my husband and I have that dilemma like everyone else in the world... "What's for dinner?" One of our many fall backs is Bojangles. I LOVE the 2 piece meal deal with a leg and thigh and seasoned fries. YUMMY! Now the only trick is that you have to try and get the chicken right out of the fryer for it to be perfect. Otherwise the chicken looses it's crispiness. We usually pick up from this location because it's just down the street from our house. If they are out of legs or wings they are always willing to substitute. I know this is kind of weird but if you get a long fry that is warm but limp it's almost like eating the perfect french fry. This store in Matthews is , by far, the absolute worst store in the entire chain. It's the worst of any other food chain as well ! It's the closest to my house so it's convenient however, their service sucks. I won't go to their drive through anymore because they have gotten our order wrong a total of twelve times in a row. I went inside this morning for two chicken biscuits, was third in line, and it still took 25 minutes. Upon leaving, a man came in from the drive through raising Hell because he was in the drive through for thirty minutes and still wasn't close to getting waited on. He was irate to say the very least. I chalked that experience up as a fluke because they were at the tail end of the supper rush. 2 mornings in a row I have went to the bojangles beside the microtel in matthews and gotten there around 6:05, says they open at 6. pulled on the door it was locked. proceeded to sit in the drive thru for 15 minute, nothing. pulled up front to see if any employees were walking around. didn't see a thing. someone needs to get a hold on managing their employees. read more

Reposting - I am absolutely disgusted and heartbroken by our experience at the bojangles in Matthew's off independence today. A poor sweet girl with special needs was working in the front lobby mopping the floors. She was very kind and very talkative and at first I was so very happy that bojangles gave her a chance at such a job, because unfortunately not many companies do. As we get our food and sit down to eat, this sweet angel asked us if we needed anything, or if she could help us in any way, we both told her we were fine and thanked her for asking. She had the biggest smile on her face. We started to enjoy our meal, about the same time the girl tries to speak to her manager (a male), who ignore her. She actually screamed his name multiple times trying desperately to ask him a question to which he just continued to ignore her pleas. With great disdain I watched as she walked away from the counter looking utterly defeated... and went back to mopping the floor. A few moments passed and she came back to our table (we were then the only other people in the lobby besides herself) and told us that when we were done ahead be more than happy to take our trash and such and clean up for us, I smiled and looked her I'm the eyes and thanked her again, she quickly apologized as if she was bothering us and I told her "you're fine sweetheart, thank you so much for all of your help." And she went back to work. Again a few moments pass as we are finishing up our meal, she noticed one of the girls behind the counter and tried to ask her a question, the girl also ignored her the first few times, then in the most disgusting, vile manner, the girl behind the counter then laughed and turned away from her to face the kitchen, making some hushed remark and right after everyone in the kitchen was laughing at this poor sweet girl, again defeated, she walked back to where we were. She grabbed her mop and I'm sure she thought we couldnt hear her, but my heart shattered into pieces when she said to herself "they don't understand, they just dont understand me, that's all." Then quickly followed by "this is why I like machines. Machines are better than people because they dont tease me and make fun of me." I HAD TO SWALLOW THE HUGE LUMP IN MY THROAT AND FIGHT BACK THE TEARS! I called immediately after we left to speak to the manager, who I supposedly was speaking to on the phone, told her what happened, she responded with "I'll let the manager know." No apology. No remorse. And... didnt you JUST tell me YOU were the manger?!? I'm beyond livid and I dont think I'll be dining there again unless I see her inside... and i will hug her and make sure any remarks or snickering done by fellow employees doesn't go unnoticed. I'll be calling back tomorrow morning to speak to another manager about this. Now I have worked in a restaurant myself and can understand that sometimes when it's busy and limited staff then it can be slow. However after 1hr of bad service, there's too much done that I cannot forgive. After 40 minutes of waiting our food was given, and all of it was wrong. Two bacon egg and cheese combos with no egg or cheese given and missing drinks when trying to move us along. When pointed out the woman then with gloves on proceed to hold a stack of cheese and touch the computer with said cheese in hands then remade the sandwiches. The level of incompetence at this location is beyond anything I have ever experienced in my entire life. After waiting over 10 minutes at the speaker to have our order taken I was ready to go to Popeyes and would have if my husband wasn't the one driving. There were only 2 cars ahead of us at the window and it took them over 10 minutes to be served and then several minutes after for someone to take our order. Then they didn't have Supremes even though it was past 10:00 and the explanation was simply "we haven't started making them yet" while there were mounds of fried chicken ready to go. This is my hometown Bojangles and in my opinion the best. The dirty rice is always fresh and the biscuits soft. It was one of the only restaurant chains open during Hurricane Hugo so it has a special place in my memory. Bojangles started in Charlotte and is great for tailgates or any occasion. read more

I ordered 20 piece tailgate and didn't look at it before I left when I got home all pieces of chicken were cooked in burnt grease I call there make my complaint they say since it's large order you need to speak to Felicia I guess is the manager now mind you I call up there the employee that just clocked in said it smelled like burnt grease when she got to work they took my name and said get in touch with Felecia when I go there they act dumb saying I need receipt which I never received so y'all just fucked me out off 40 something dollars I will never eat Bojangles again neither should anybody else read more

This is by far the best Bojangles in the area. The food is always cooked properly, the building is kept clean, and most of the employees are very nice. The only issue with this location is that the line inside can get pretty long, but that's common at most fast food locations. I will return! read more
