I can't imagine this place will last unless they completely change the way they treat their customers. Let's put it this way, I have been here multiple times with multiple families and/or friends. Only once did we received good service and that was the first time I visited closer to when they first opened. The last time I was here was during restaurant week last year, and we came in planning on having some drinks before going to dinner across the street. There were 5 of us, we walked in and stood in front of the bar for 10 min. Then walked towards the front thinking maybe they would acknowledge us if we were near the front and then when that didn't work we walked towards the bowling ally. After a total of 30 min and not a single person acknowledged our presence despite multiple people walking around and past us, we were quite offended and left. This is not surprising since I have literally had people greet us as if they were annoyed we were there, on another occasion and have been ignored by our server on another occasion when I was there with a large party of over 10 people. Over all Bol needs to make some significant changes in the way they treat their customers. The only reason I am leaving them two rather than one star is because I do like their food. Everything I've tried was delicious. But the service is so bad, it doesn't outweigh the positive enough for me to recommend this place to anyone else, or to come back in the future. read more

Take note: Bol has a happy hour for bar and patio only. Even if there is no one in the dining room, they will not honor the happy hour menu. So we moved from the dining room to the patio at 530p on a Thursday. They took offense, were snotty & never came around. Isn't this place a bowling restaurant? I've been here three times in the past with good experiences years ago. Unfortunately it seems things have changed. While the service was pretty good and the management was receptive to my concerns and made adjustments, the food was very disappointing. The lamb lollipops were chard to the point of the bone breaking when I picked it up, The was Fish flavorless and full of bones, The Ramen came cold also with little flavor, and even the easy thing dessert was horrible. The flourless cake was so hard could barely get a spoon through the side of it, it was definitely either old or overcooked. If you're going to go here I'd stick to the bowling and stay away from the food. read more

Hostess sends you to the punk running the bowling and rudely tells us that they are booked all night on a Thursday 45 minutes after opening. If that's the case, tell your hostess this so we don't waste each other's time. Then we try to go to the bar for a drink and the bartender didn't even acknowledge me. Love this place!!!! Got a recommendation from some locals and went for dinner....cool vibe and fun drink menu. We tried the poke appetizer and it was simply awesome. Also got this fried cauliflower which came with a buffalo wing sauce and was stuffed with bleu cheese....too spicy for us and our waitress Anna was happy to take it back and recommended the ribs appetizer and it was also fantastic!!!! For the main, we shared the half chicken which was very good as well. For dessert we had the strawberry milkshake...loved it. It is attached to a very upscale bowling alley and you can eat in there as well. Best part was the waitstaff, especially Anna who had lots of good recommendations. I usually love this place. The service and food were horrible last night. The place was empty but they acted like they couldn't handle 1 large table and a few others. Sandwich was burnt. Empty plates sat on the table after we pushed them to the edge thinking a server would walk by and pick them up. Not the case. Staff walked by continuously with they're heads in the clouds afraid to help out another server. Had to write this as this was the second bad experience I have had in the past couple weeks. Who would have thought that they would have some of the most memorable gourmet food and amazing service at a Bowling Alley? And with COVID restrictions fully implemented? We were blown away this Christmas Eve when we got together for a friendly family bowling night which turned into an unforgettable experience without equal anywhere else. Our server, Evan (a blond haired lady), provided the most thoughtful and exquisite service throughout the night as she kept us constantly well stocked with more food, utensils, and drinks while clearing away the constant flow of dishes. And the food! Wow! We ordered the lamb lollipop (must have seconds), the Sechuan spare ribs, the poke, the sliders, the duck gnocchi, the banana bread pudding, and the apple cake, and EVERY SINGLE ITEM was amazingly delicious! Seriously, we couldn't believe this is a bowling alley and not a Michelin restaurant! Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable experience! WOW! My family had an extremely disturbing experience at Bol, Vail, CO. We started bowling and we were having so much fun (even though we noticed the Bol staff consistently being rude to our entire family). When we had 5 minutes left in our game, we asked if we could simply finish our final 2 frames without having to pay an additional $60/per hour. We had been to Bol the night before and spent close to $800.00 and we continued to spend more that evening. All we wanted to do was to finish our game, and call it a night. The rudeness escalated and one of the Bol employees got into my mothers face (60 years old) while the other began yelling at my brother (who has epilepsy and tends to lose sight and balance through his disability). After all this, we asked for the owner. At that time two of us sat down and talked calmly with the owner about how poorly we felt we were being treated. The owner's response was nothing. He was calm and he listened, but said and did nothing. After feeling poorly treated, we paid our bill and decided to leave. On our way out two of the employees gestured and muttered very offensive things to my mother. Pretty classy Bol... At that point my father went up to the man to give him a piece of his mind. Then out of the nowhere, there were 10 employees on top of my mother and father, my two sister-in-laws, my sister, and my brother, forcing us out the door....in the process my brother (who has epilepsy) was blindly pushed to the floor and repeatedly punched in the face by the Bol bouncer as we pleaded for him to stop. If was as if the Bol employees were looking for a fight. Why would a business want to physically assault customers? What kind of training and management would support such a thing? Needless to say the cops were called, statements were taken, and a wonderful night of bowling turned into something deeply disturbing. After talking to a few locals around town, we have gotten word of other bad experiences at Bol. So my advice would be to save your money. Don't spend the $60.00/an hour on lanes. Find your memories elsewhere. Vail has so many other fun places to offer. However, if you are looking for rude service, rip off pricing, and a potential school yard fight, Bol, Vail, CO is it! What a horrible addition to family friendly town of Vail, Colorado. read more

If bowling at a $50 per hour lane while munching on $16 appetizers is for you, then this is a great place to do it.... especially if it too windy/cold to ski, or you're nursing a hangover. The interior of this place is interesting... modern and hip... NOT a typical bowling alley. Lucky Strike would be the only thing halfway similar. We were there in early afternoon, and the "weekend menu" was full of food that was prepared to appear "gourmet" but was really nothing spectacular. I know Vail is pricey, but the food menu was just ridiculous. $16 for 4 small pork buns? puh-leese. Beer selection was quite good, and it was reasonably priced. Also it is less subject to a kitchen with a creative menu, but not quite the execution to pull it off. The service was about par for the course. In fact, on the whole, this was par for the course. Great food, great drinks, a bit pricey... but that comes with the territory. If you go to Vail/Aspen/BC and expect the $5 Denver drink prices, you would give this place 1-2 stars. One major point to clarify... For those of you that have never worked at a restaurant/bar, the $1 rocks charge is NOT for the ice. It is because when you get a 1 oz shot of liquor on ice, it looks small. And people complain. So, they give you either a shot and a half or a quarter (depending on where you are) and just charge you $1 for the extra because you are getting more alcohol in your glass. No, the servers and bartenders aren't being mean, or rude, the charge for rocks is set up in their computer system, so when they CORRECTLY order your drink, just as you ordered it, on the rocks, it automatically charges you. GET OVER IT. If you just want the 1 oz shot on the rocks, order a shot and a side glass of ice. Now that we have that out of the way, the pork buns are delish, and I would definitely recommend trying a dessert. Yum! I love staying at Solaris in the low season (summer) because the weather is fabulous, and most restaurants, especially places like Bol, never have a wait. Way overhyped, overpriced and overrated. The atmosphere was poor, and the service was atrocious. We bowled for an hour and a half, had 3 pitchers of beer and one Ahi Tuna burger, and the bill came out just shy of 300$. While the beer was cold and the tuna burger was decent, the bowling was lame and didn't standout from any other bowling alley. The whole experience was very mediocre and cost as much as a snow mobile rental(better way to spend your money while in Vail). In short, skip it. Unless you're pretentious and want to overspend because it makes you look cool. read more

We came here for a little birthday gathering for myself and it was awesome. There are only 10 or 12 lanes, so it is kind of small, but it is really really nice. The price was $45/hour and we got through 2 1/3 games with 3 bowlers. Kind of expensive but very nice lanes and atmosphere--It is Vail you know! Apparently you can not buy by the game--only based on hourly allotments. Wish you could pay for 3 games and take your time---the whole buy and hour and rush is not my thing, but we had fun anyway. I think you can get 1/2 hour increments after the first hour. So, I would give them 5 stars, but due to the only way of bowling is per hour, I am giving them 4 stars. Oh this place is a nicer Lucky Strike--couches and luunge areas with a restaurant and bar. read more

Came here with a group of 6 after a long day of skiing/snowboarding. The food was decent, but the service and wait was unacceptable. After being seated, it took over 5 minutes for anyone to come to offer us water or take drink orders. Also, after the initial wait, we have 3 different servers come to take our drink orders/bring water/talk about the menu, so we had no idea who our actual server was. The wait for the food was ridiculously long. half of our table ordered appetizers, which took over 30 minutes to be brought to the table. The lamb teasers were good as was the spicy tuna tartar but by the time it came, we were so hungry that we inhaled the food without being able to truly enjoy it. It took another 30 minutes for our entrees to come out. Keep in mind that 1/2 our table hadn't ordered appetizers which meant that they basically waited an HOUR after ordering to get their food. Again, the food was pretty good, but nothing to rave about and I certainly couldnt' figure out what could have taken so long to prepare. Finally, our waiter came to offer us dessert. We were trying to determine whether or not to order dessert, and asked her to give us 2 minutes to decide. 2 minutes turned into 25, at which point we were definitely NOT going to order dessert. All i know is that it was a good thing that I liked the people that I was there with and was engaged in good conversation because otherwise, I probably would have just walked out the door. My typical bowling outing consists of gallon tubs of soda, cheap pitchers of beer, little cardboard containers of fried foods while wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt that looks they were purchased at a thrift shop over ten years ago. Welcome to Vail, where bowling doesn't resemble that AT ALL. At $50/hour, you can have up to six people on a lane (we had four and it took over an hour to bowl two games). Shoe rental is $5/pair and, if you forget socks, you can pay for a pair of those as well. Food options were limited and subpar (not that fried gizzards at your local alley can be considered a culinary experience). Cocktails are pricey. Service was great from the bowling staff (watching you with a hawk-like stare so they can offer to "extend" your time as your counter gets close to zero), but slow from the waittress (at $12/cocktail I suppose she was actually doing me a favor). I expected a more club-like vibe, which it has in decor, but it was the holiday weekend so tons of kids bowling while parents chat and get liquored up together - it's Ikea meets Hannah Montana. We had a fun (who doesn't love bowling???) and went in knowing we were going to drop some change, so I wasn't totally freaked out when the bill came (yeah...it was pretty bad). If you're planning to go, I suggest dinner elsewhere first. read more

Let's get something clear, this is Vail and things are generally $20 more than they should be, that's how it is, its not going to change. Now..... This place is fun. You can eat dinner, have drinks, and bowl. It's set up so you can do all at once, or separately. Went there just to bowl, but ended up having some drinks as well. Their standard rate is $50/br for the lane for up to 8 people. Tonight they had a special that they called "bubbles and bowling" where you got a free bottle of champagne when you were bowling. For for $70 we drank a bottle of Moët and bowled for an hour and a half. I'm not a club person by any means but this place is a lot of fun. They have huge projection tv's at the end of the lanes that they had different things on, and they had music playing. The service was pleasant and attentive, everyone including the manager greeted us on the way in. We had fun, and I would certainly go back. read more

Bol was a great experience. We rented a bowling lane for four of us (two kids). The staff was very helpful in setting up our game, with bumpers, balls and shoes. We ordered a few things from the food menu. The Buffalo chicken flatbread was more like a pizza than a flatbread. However, it was pretty good. The chicken had a nice kick but nothing to get nervous about. We also ordered the chicken sandwich which had a great flavor. The bread was also perfectly toasted. Overall if you need some activity in Vail it's a good time with pretty good food. read more

Last night i came with friends to bowl and it was a great experience- so great that we decided to come back tonight for dinner. The food is incredible and the service is great. Going to Bol is like getting a strike. It has amazing food and a chic upscale bowling alley in the back. Bol is my favorite restaurant in Vail! It is located right in the center of Vail in Solaris and the food is delicious. Try the crowd favorite the Eaton Ranch burger or the bread pudding. Great spot in the heart of Vail, and one of the only spots still humming after midnight. If you're there to hang out, take note that although the crowd is good, it is mostly private parties bowling in the alley area, toward the back. The front bar does draw a crowd, but the scene there is hit or miss, and the DJ is nice but a little weak on his repertoire. I'd recommend Bol for bringing a group of friends, not if you are solo. Bowling is crazy pricey, but its Vail...also, for the management, bravo with the build-out in this place. It is very cool. read more

The braised celery and the ribs were my favorite. The mixologists also gave us great options for unique flavorful drinks that we had never experienced before. Huge wine menu too. Trendy bowling place with a cool ambiance and talented bartenders that make some really cool cocktails. Had a Pineapple Express which was similar to a Moscow Mule but with pineapple in a really cool cup. Was able to get in an hour of bowing but it was pretty pricey, but then again it is Vail. We went on a weekday so I'd recommend making reservations because we got the last spot for bowling and we came in at 6 and they closed at 10pm. So glad we stumbled in this place! One of the few boutique bowling alleys in the US. This isn't bowling with the niece or nephew or Cosmic bowling like we were all guilty of going to in a high school. This is grown up, high end, trendy, I feel like I'm at a super swank bar in New York kind of bowling. Tons of plasma screens over the lanes do you can keep up with everything from Winter X Games to Madonna's latest music video. The beats are loud, lights are low, couches for lounging, and signature cocktails are flowing. Be warned though.... You should expect to pay for all of this posh ambiance. $50 an hour for a lane I think was the going rate. $5 for shoes (socks avail for purchase as well) and $12 cocktails. It's Vail though.... Shouldn't be a shocker. The boutique alley is located behind the restaurant and Bar that boasts the same contemporary design and upscale feel. The food was to die for!! Inventive combinations and vibrant flavors. We went with suggestions from our server and couldn't have been happier! Recommend the sweet potato appetizer and signature salad. This was my favorite place aside from the snow covered slopes while I was in Vail! And should note that coming in straight from the slopes is totally fine. This is a dual review as went twice while in Vail - once as an after dinner bar scene with heavy appetizers and they other as lunch after climbing and descending vail pass. Both were pretty good experiences. Service was average, though our visits didn't require exceptional service, so perhaps unfair to say. The food I had was quite good and the three bean tapenade was truly awesome, as was the gluten free bread. Drink selection was OK, their tonic water was actually bad and the bartender agreed and fixed my party a new drink. Don't hold events here. We had the rehearsal for our wedding here in September 2018 and we are still having to deal with payment SNAFUs. It's almost like Emma and Cassidy at Bol are actively trying to be as unhelpful as possible. I'm sick of calling and emailing over and over again and getting ignored.
