Stumbled upon this place through Yelp reviews and boy, was it worth it. We ordered three items to try a variety of the menu. We got the vada pav, chilli cheese sandwich and the paneer Tikka pizza. All in all, reminded us of food from Mumbai. If I compare this food to Mumbai cafe (Schaumburg) and Honest (Schaumburg) I choose Bollywood cafe for the most authentic in terms of mumabi street food. Ok so here's my experience with Hollywood Bistro - me and my family just moved to beautiful south Naperville a year ago. We are currently Lenting and are not eating meat so what more delicious restaurant, based on Yelp reviews, to go to during the season than. Hollywood Bistro. I place my order at 7:30 for pickup and the gentleman on the other tells me our order won't be ready for an hour. I've never been given an hour pickup time in my life, but whatever the food is supposed to be outstanding. An hour later my non-Indian self shows up to the restaurant and the second I walk in, everybody in the restaurant all of whom are Indian, stop eating and stare at me like I'm lost or some kind of weirdo. It was the single most uncomfortable feeling I've ever had at a restaurant. And yes, the food was excellent. read more

We had an excellent dinner here tonight! My husband and I walked in around 6:30pm and we were welcomed by the chef/owner. He was very friendly and helpful in deciding which dishes we were trying tonight. We picked 1 of the specials; 2 "pancakes" with saag (forgot the name of the dish). The spinach dish was 1 of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered samosa chole chaat, paneer piri piri and bhaaji quesadilla. All delicious; made fresh with the requested spice level. What is not accurate is that the location is not in Cermak market; it's located in a strip mall on Ogden, near Jewel, across from the main post office. Now when you actually find it, get ready to order. Everything is made fresh to order, and the owner is very friendly and checks that you like your food. We had samosa chaat, which is basically samosas covered with chickpeas and tamarind/ cilantro sauce. It was so delicious! We also had their fresh buttery naan -- delicious! Lastly, my friend and I wanted something cheesy so we shared an order of something that was like a butter Paneer -- I can't get to their menu online to get the name of the dish, but it was wonderful. We have loved going to the new place and trying out the traditional North Indian cuisine as well as the new twists to North Indian food. My favorite is Cholle Kulche and Soya Chaap. We are a huge fan of their beverage options especially spicy lassi. Other must try items are: samosa, tiki cholle, bhaji quesadilla, dosa balls, Desi pizza, cholle bhature and paneer peri. Forgot to take photos because I was being claustrophobic. The food itself was pretty great. Gobi manchurian was maybe a 3/5 because it lacked sweet tanginess. Papdi chat also was missing the sweetness and maybe some tomatoes to add a bit of freshness. Kadhai paneer was very flavorful 4/5. I always go with malai kofta 3/5 because it's safe, mild and sweet. But this malai kofta was missing the sweetness, again. Not that I have a sweet tooth but there needs to be a bit of sugar in everything to bring the flavors together. Koftas we're so tiny. My top issue were the tables were so narrow I felt like I was sitting on my friend's lap and eating out of their plate. I hated how narrow the tables were- I couldn't even cross my legs without my feet touching the opposite guest's thighs. It was that close. It's not a big place but they've tried to optimize too much. The entrees quality is poor for the price. Unfortunately, I could smell rancid oil in the greasy veg recipes. The oil that they used tasted like it had been preciously used for frying purposes but that's my guess, I don't know for sure. We ordered veg biryani and Kadhai paneer. Nothing outstanding taste wise. Quantity is also very less and no complimentary rice. So for the taste, quality and quantity I give it this rating. Stopped by this place this week. Was a first time for us, but wanted to give it a try given the good ratings on Google. And we are glad we did. A quick call and reservations were easy. The place is clean and clutter free. Ordering was a breeze. There was some wait for the sizzler as indicated on the menu. The paneer was soft and the sizzler was tasty. The kulche, garlic and butter naans were tasty and went down easily with the chole and Paneer Kadhai. We were expecting the paneer kadhai to be richer and bit more creamier, but the taste was still good. If fact, we wanted more of the sizzler, so ordered the Achari paneer sizzler at the end to top off our dinner. The host was very courteous and helped us with our order decisions. We had ordered panipuri ( there water was far from authentic and tasted some premix they were using ), next up vadapav ( I liked vada however pav was sugary and did satisfy Indian taste bud, Chole ( I'm not sure what to write about it but please don't order that here ), pav bhagi( I'm not sure if they know how to make it because literally it was pureed food with some weird taste ) Again, I rarely write bad reviews but I feel compelled to write it because all the reviews from past simply can not be true read more

Could not be more disappointed in this restaurant today, been a loyal customer for YEARS. I have been attempting for put in order over the phone from 7:45 through 8pm but was getting a busy signal. I knew the kitchen would close at 8:30 and figure the busy signal was coming because it was in fact busy. So I jumped into my car and drove to the restaurant, when I arrived there were people waiting in line and no one at the register, so I stood in line as well. There were people eating at the tables and I didn't think much of it. A solid 10 minutes go by and still no one. Eventually someone who was eating at the tables walked into the back and then came back to join his friends at the table - mind you people are waiting in line. Eventually he felt everyone had waited a sufficent amount of time and started to take orders. When it was my turn to make an order, I gave him my order to which his response was "dine in or carry-out" to which my response was "carry-out". Then this person told me, the kitchen is now closed and we will not be taking any orders - I as well as the people in line stated I had been waiting in line for a while and should be able to order - he refused and turned me away. Not sure why the general rating is so high for this place. Food was above average but vastly overpriced. Service, ambience & decor sucks. No one came to our table for almost 15 mins. Found a stone in the curry. For an overpriced place, not even cloth napkins are offered.. they gave us 2 paper napkins & disappeared. Had to keep looking & calling the servers for help for water, napkins etc... may be ok for carry out rather than eat-in if anyone wants to try the food in my opinion. read more

I have been to this place only once after seeing good reviews on Yelp. The ambiance was decent and neat. I tried couple different items on their menu, sizzlers were really good among all the different items I had. But the biggest turn off point is their hospitality. This place is AMAZING. We've wanted to try it for a while, but timing wasn't quite right. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and were quickly greeted by the friendly and helpful owners. We settled in on a vada pav, paneer butter masala, and butter naan. The flavors and textures were perfect. The vada pav had just the right amount of crunch and it was bursting with flavor. The paneer butter masala was rich and flavorful. The paneer was perfectly tender. The owner/chef stopped by and it was wonderful to chat with him for a bit. I have never had this bad Indian food in my life. Ordered Paneer tikka wrap and the paneer, vegetables were raw, wrapped in a tortilla. If I wanted a Tortilla I would have gone to Mexican place. I am writing a long pending review for this restaurant. I went their with my fiancee for our lunch and it was an amazing experience. We had Taco tikka masala, Vada pav, dahi puri, pav bhahi ani masala soda. And believe me, it was proper Mumbai style food and simply delicious. We loved it so much that we ordered the food from that place for next day get together that we were having. I can't say the same for their main course food though as we didn't like that much. We ordered pindi chhole, paneer tikka masala, samosas, taco tikka masala and bhature. Bhatura was very chewvy, pindi chhole were bland and paneer tikka masala was average. Samosas and Taco tikka masala were very good. We again went their next day to enjoy their street food dishes and they were pretty good again. Well there is just one word to describe this place- awesome !!! The kinda names they came up with for each dish is so cool !!! You got Deeppizza Padukone, Kulfina Kaif, Dosa Kanth and a lot more!!! A tribute to Bollywood indeed !!! I tried the Taco Mastani, Bhaji Quesadilla and Paneer Peri Peri !!! All three were delicious !!! If you are looking for good chat places in the Naperville area, I would recommend trying this place Bollywood Cafe, it is located inside Cermak supermarket on Route 59 and Ogden. let me tell you how good are the samosas here, My father in law who is a big critic of food, and who is also a chef himself, he tried samosas nearly at 5-6 places in 3 months at Naperville and did not like any, until we found this place, he finally enjoyed the crispy ones made at Bollywood Cafe, from then we have been ordering samosas regularly from there and also recommended many friends for their events and they all enjoyed it too. the best part is he does not store samosas, he always makes fresh samosas, if the order is more than 6-10, he will definitely make fresh ones for you, regardless if there are few samosas lying down at the counter. We also tried remaining chat items too, they all are very good, Last but not least, Chetan, the person who manages the place, he is very friendly and jovial guy, he does most of the times single-handedly manages to take the order, preparing the order and billing.
