If you love fries, go order the steak fries! It's soooooo amazing. It's very flavorful. They have the sauce they put on top that tastes like in-n-out's spread. It's an Asian version of carne asada fries. The sandwich is also good. But I gotta say everything almost tastes the same, just different textures, but it is their signature flavor. Pros: Good food, good service Cons: Best food selections are spicy I admit it. I get bored with my food, so I'm always on the lookout for new food choices. So when I was planning a trip out to the Bellflower area, where I normally don't go, I took the opportunity to try different food. I had the Asian fusion tacos and Kookoo chicken balls and did not regret my decision to try new food! The tacos had a nice tang, and you can add different sauces including sriracha at the table. The Kookoo balls are chicken in a sauce surrounded by rice and coating and then deep fried. They were hot and nice and crispy with a savory seasoning. They were even still good and crispy a few hours later. The only bad thing about the food is that most of it is seasoned and my friend does not like spicy food, so she was mainly stuck with teriyaki. Most of the population will not have a problem, though. My friend admits that she does not even use common table ground black pepper on any of her food. The service was really good. The cashier/server pointed out different ordering options and even helped us move to a different table when we found ourselves cramped. I regret I don't live closer to a KooKoo Grill and will likely remember to stop by should I be in the area again. read more

I usually get the Chicken & Beef Combo. I must say that the chicken is cooked perfectly! The outside is crunchy but tender inside. I don't think I've ever had chicken cooked like that from other teriyaki places. I couldn't ask for more! (And the portions are huuge). I also like their teriyaki sauce! Found this place on yelp while on a business trip. When I first went inside, it was not what I was expecting. You order at the counter rather than the table. The menu is not large but I thought it was a good size and we had a hard time narrowing it down to what items we wanted to try. Although the teriyaki plates are amazing, don't stop there! The fusion tacos (think food truck style) are pretty tasty too. But wait there's more! I really enjoy the KooKoo Balls which are rice balls stuffed with special season chicken. And I must talk about the KooKoo fries. Imagine Carne Asada fries but with teriyaki chicken fixings and hot sauce. It is a meal all by itself, so if you order a teriyaki plate then get this to share with someone. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. On one occasion I placed a pick up order and the owner gave me free won tons because he felt like they were filling my order slow, although I thought it was reasonably quick. Solid businessman. But the food was not the same! Unfortunately. I would have given my 5 stars but my chicken wrap (which is very unique to this place) was lukewarm in some places and hotter in other bites. The wrap was also super dense. I felt like it needed lettuce to break up the texture. Kids meal was fine. Teriyaki chicken, veggies and brown rice was also fine. I did my Yelp research so I went with the KooKoo fries...AWESOME!! My sister had a burrito that was also delicious... it was so big she only had half. we took the other half home and I had it for dinner the next day and it was still delicious! This is an update. This place had a name change not too long ago, and with that, I assume an ownership change too. It used to be called Koo Koo Teriyaki. I have been here quite a few times since the change, and it seems to be getting worse with each visit. The portions are smaller, the freshness is gone, and even the type of beef has changed. Loyal customers see and taste the difference. I don't know if there is such a thing as a Korean Nazi, but the old lady that is there now definitely would qualify as one. She just stands in the middle of the kitchen with a scowl on her face, watching the workers, and probably counting the grains of rice and pieces of meat in every order. Great teriyaki fusion spot near Cerritos College unfortunately it is not in walking distance or I would be there every day between classes. I have been here twice once with my sister and the second time with my wife and both ladies loved the food. The first time I ate inside before class and the food was really good and the location was pretty clean. It was kind of empty but we did come at an off time. The second visit was through the drive through and they got my order right and served me in less than 2 minutes. But again I came on an off time and there was only one car ahead of me. I hope this place has more business on other times because I really enjoyed this place but I really want to try the rest of the menu but I only get to visit during school. This place.... So unassuming yet so incredibly delicious. I bookmarked it at least a year ago but hadn't had a chance to come through. Long story short, my friend gave them a try and came back with raving reviews - which was enough to get me in my car! I've since returned at least 4 times and each time is excellent. The koo koo fries are huge and can definitely be split between at least 2-3 people, depending on their appetites. The koo koo balls and rolls are by far my favorite item on the menu. My son loves the fusion burritos and they are tasty. The service is good, the food doesn't come out crazy fast but that's because they make it fresh when you order it. They have drive through as well as inside seating if you like. We typically do drive thru as its more convenient - so if you opt for that route, be prepared to wait.
