I've been to this location two times and bought different kinds of menu items each time. I do say this it is on the pricy side however, it is amazing food and would recommend this place to other people. The service is also amazing as well and tend to the customer fast. To start off, the service is great. Very attentive and nice staff. No complaints there. My complaints start and end at the food quality and taste. Chicken Tikka Masala (very commonly ordered dish): 1/5 The Sauce was very sweet it tinged my teeth (my teeth are not sensitive). The portion size is incredulously small. 6 pieces of chicken in a common curry bowl flooded with the God awful sauce. The chicken was cooked in a tandoori blend. Contributed more to that sweet teeth striking flavor. Shahi Korma (Lamb Korma): 0.5/5 The sauce was sweeter than the Tikka, to top it off 4 1/2 pieces of chicken flooded in the sugar sauce. Garlic Naan: 3/5 The Garlic Naan was the best thing here. Cooked well, also very sweet, but it complimented the Naan in a way. Barley enough Garlic to call it "Garlic Naan". Sweet Naan with a dash of garlic is a better name. Basmati Rice: 4/5 It tastes like all other regular basmati rices. No complaints. Beverage Accessibility: 2/5 Any drink besides water comes in a glass bottle. Not a fan, especially with the premium prices. Affordability: 0/5 Nothing is worth the price here. Portions are small for 15.99 a plate. 5-7 pieces of chicken. Glass bottles at a premium price for food feels like robbery. What if I want a refill? Pay for another glass? Ridiculous. One piece of Garlic Naan is $6. These prices would be fine if the restaurant gave the portions in accordance with the prices, but they do not. I can't recommend this place to anyone. My bf and I been wanting to try this place for a while now so we were pretty excited to go on our anniversary , we go in and we still had to wait 10 mins for waters ( we were the only ones in the restaurant too ) then the owner comes to us and tells us that we both need to spend $20 each ($40) in total to dine in . At first we didn't understand her but we thought it was so weird that we had to spend 40+ in order to dine in on our special day . Not to mention we usually share a meal every time because we just get the tikki masala and rice. So ridiculous that we have to spend $20 each to dine in , pretty expensive just for sauce and rice . everything is sold separately also . prices are ridiculous. WILL NEVER COME HERE OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE . First thing when we walked in the restaurant... How can their fire alarm not go off? Don't they have a functional smoke detector!? Well, we really wanted to try this Indian place out and I was craving for some paneer, so wth let's stay. After ordering our spinach paneer and chicken tikka masala, I decided I needed some fresh air so I went outside to take a few deep meditative breaths before I went back into the smoke like a courageous firefighter... So that was my experience before the meal had even started. I was telling my boyfriend: dude, they better make bomb-a$$ food because I'm inhaling all these carcinogens for good Indian food. Yeah the food was good. The flavors were amazing! We also got the garlic and coconut naan and they were to die for! One complaint about the food was the portion size. I was cutting the small pieces of chicken into smaller bites so they could last long enough for the naan... Quite stingy on their part. The naan was very, very fresh as we saw the guy through their kitchen glass window putting the dough into their tandoor right after he got our order paper. The waitress (his wife I suppose) brought it out right after he pulled it out from the oven and so it was so hot and fresh! The service was very sincere and the girl (their daughter I suppose) was very polite and a bit shy which is kinda cute haha. It's too bad we won't make this our regular spot because the smoke was really bad and their prices were way too high for the small portions they gave us. You might be better off if you order to go like some customers were doing. But still, the steep prices were definitely not justified. Our server denied us service due to their idiotic policy that, you may only dine in if your spending over $55.00 Obviously that's ridiculous, we ordered 2 curry's, 2 plates of nan bread and rice, guess that's not enough..... So my boyfriend and I will not be returning here. And a note to the restaurant itself; Your customer does not care how much your rent it is, if your not able to seat dine in, JUST DON'T! Advertise what you can and willing to offer, if your not willing to offer dining in, then don't allow it! My husband and I went on a weekday night- it was close to 9 pm and the space was empty. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the food was truly delicious. I truly loved the Lamb Pashmiri- it was a nice variation of traditional lamb curry dishes. I will warn people- the scale of spiciness is a couple notiches above most Indian restaurants. I ordered a side of Dal with a spicyness scal of 6 and wow- it was hot! My biggest complaint is that I found this place using an Entertainment coupon book that offered a deal of $10 off that wasn't honored. When I presented the online coupon, they told be that they never registered to offer this discount.and refused to extend this to me. I was very disappointed. I was craving Indian food hardcore one day. I needed spice and rice to fulfill my pregnancy cravings. Bombay Cafe is the definition of a family restaurant because it's several generations of family that run it! The inside isn't anything to gawk over but I do love the touches they've added. You can watch them make your fresh naan through a window and I highly recommend you order an extra side because it is delicious. We noticed that Bombay had a ton of to go orders coming in and noted that. They have regulars that have a smile on their face as soon as they walk in to greet the staff. I really liked everything about Bombay Cafe and of course loved their vegetarian options. We will be back to explore the menu more! read more

My family and I came to this place last weekend. First red flag was when the waitress brought some waters she only brought 2 even though there were 3 of us. I thought because the third one was a child she would bring a plastic cup instead of a glass cup. We waited for a solid minute before we realized she wasnt coming back. Tandoori chicken was excellent and juicy, I'd never had vegetable pakoras before but these were so good I can't wait to try them again. The chutneys must be homemade because they were so flavorful. I didn't want to have to leave a negative review but this was earned. Two stars, mostly for the naan. Negative three for just about everything else: I ordered the food (chicken tikka masala, rice, coconut naan and garlic naan) and spoke to (what sounded like) a 7 year old. I emphasized to make the masala MILD. I even called back a second time, 10 seconds after finishing placing my order to reiterate MILD. Clearly, it wasn't mild...(had to keep an extra paper towel by my food to wipe the sweat from my head!). When I got there to pick up my food (25 minutes after ordering), it was not ready and the 7 year old voice turned out to be (what looked like) a 17 year old girl. This girl is the motivation for this negative review, as if it weren't for her, or would've chalked it up to a bad experience and not felt compelled to leave this review. This young lady had the personality and friendliness of the stone oven they were baking the naan in! She came off as rude and short and she was the only other person in the front part of the restaurant (at 8pm on a Tuesday night). She must be the daughter or granddaughter of the owner. After she notices my order is missing something and tells me I'll have to wait a few more minutes, she hands me the food in a cardboard box. I inspect to make sure I have the correct number of items and see that the rice and curry, are in thin paper boxes (the kind you get at Chinese food restaurants). I was surprised at that but there was nothing to say. I did ask for cutlery (specifically a fork, spoon and knife) and was handed a spoon by Ms. Personality. I reiterated that I need a fork and knife as well, but she tells me that ALL THEY HAVE ARE SPOONS. Wtf?! I left to head home. Once seated, ready to eat and unpacking the food, I see that the curry had spilled some out of the container and is seeping out the sides. Who is the GENIUS that thought it'd be a good idea to put CURRY (SOUP-LIKE CONSISTENCY) in a PAPER CONTAINER??!! Anyway, food was mediocre but I do have to say, the coconut naan was a first I've seen anywhere and was very good. Sadly, not enough to earn them more stars after this experience though... read more

i write this with a heavy heart. i really, really wanted to say stellar things about this place. i bookmarked it years ago and seem to have a knack for being in the neighborhood when they're not open. was headed to dinner at SPICY KING across the street with my son (don't stress. we got there friday for lunch) but their doors were locked (closed tuesdays) so was really excited about the opportunity to finally try BOMBAY CAFE. obviously family run and the service was heartwarming -- really no other way to describe it. these are the nicest folks. sadly i thought the food was underwhelming. we started with the VEGETABLE SAMOSAS and they were just okay. the chutneys were quite good -- guessing the trio were tamarind, cilantro and chili-tomato. i had the LAMB VINDALOO -- again good but not great. thought it was under spiced (and i actually mean spice. when did spicy become a synonym for lots of chili peppers? how barren would your cabinet be for that to be true?). INDIAN food and bland do not belong together in the same sentence. MICHAEL had the LAMB ROGAN JOSH and again good but not great. thank goodness for the PORTUGUESE (vinegar) influence in GOA and the spinach version (SAAG) or the menu descriptions would be the same for every lamb curry -- all right and the TANDOORI prequel aspect for TIKA MASALA and cashews in the KORMA but you get the idea. very difficult for me to separate in my pea brain when i'm deciding what to have for dinner. their BASMATI RICE was perfect. amazing how fluffy and light they get the individual grains. i try that at home and mine isn't even close. read more

We got 5 packs of biryani on in May-21. It was worst biryani ever made on planet earth. It had sugar in it and it was like eating dessert. Both vegeterian and non veg biryani was sweet and had no taste. I highly recommend restaurant owner to take biryani out of the menu and advice customers to stay away from this restaurant atleast never order biryani from here. read more
