I had breakfast here a while ago, but am just now getting to the review. My girlfriend and I came in fairly late for breakfast to to try out the Cafe, since we are very local. We went in and were not greeted, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. We walked to the front counter to see a single menu sitting on the bar to read from. We decided on our food and ordered, chose a table, and waited. As we waited, we noticed the styling of the restaurant, which was not bad, but not comforting either. The styling was very corporate and industrial, while having no comfort in seating or tables. The food was very slow to come out, and the hostess was staring at us the entire time which was very awkward. Once our food came out, we noticed that the price did not match the quality or quantity. I believe the food we ordered was no better than a hotel breakfast, as the scrambled eggs were very yellow and obviously from a container, the bacon was very thin and overcooked to a crisp, orange juice was watery and bitter (similar to a hotel orange juice machine), and the waffle was bland and soggy. For a restaurant that seems to boast a home-cooked menu, it was awful. Overall, it was a very mediocre experience for the extraordinarily high prices, and would recommend something like Denny's or Waffle House if you want a cheaply made, frozen breakfast (and at least Denny's and Waffle House are priced that way). read more

Yummy brunch this morning! Really wonderful pancakes and LOVED the coffee. It apparently tastes of milk chocolate and brown sugar, but to me it was just a symphony on my tongue. Will need to try some of the pastries next time! read more

My husband and I found this place by accident and we love it love it. The staff was so nice to us and friendly so we had to go back the croissants are awesome ( we were in Paris and Barcelona and had croissant almost every day ) and breakfast with pancakes specially We live in Houston but have not been anyplace like Bon Appetite.... we miss them so much already and wish we could find similar place in Houston! This place in ClearLake is very convenient. The food is good and nice variety in the menu. It gets pack on the weekends. The only think I that I recommend is to get better in timing. They take a little bit longer to deliver the food. read more

This is self serve cafe style , as the name suggests, similar to La Madeline. The breakfast was fast and cooked properly, very good value. The croissant was perfect, the bon appetit hash brown muffin is delicious. The decor is cute. The staff is very friendly. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because the bacon is mediocre and it was over cooked. Definitely will be back. read more

This was our second trip to Bon Appetit Cafe and both times, my husband and I each ordered the French dip. The first time, it was fantastic but today, not so good. The onions, which are supposed to be carmelized (which they were on the first trip) were raw and there were a lot of them. If you are a fan of onions, you know there's a huge flavor difference between carmelized and raw. Sadly, that wasn't the only taste changer. The first time we visited, the horseradish spread was just enough to enhance the roast beef but this time it was slathered on like mayo on a messy burger, completely overpowering everything else on the sandwich. Someone should tell the cook that a little horseradish goes a long way. I also hope that the attendance (or lack of) is not an indication of the cafe's future. The first visit, the place was pretty well packed. Today's visit which was also during the lunch hour, the dining room was almost empty. It's a great little place and I hope it sticks around but they should pay a little closer attention to the quality and consistency of the food they serve. read more

Arrived on a sunday and it was really busy. Caramel maciatta was very good. Breakfast croissant for my girlfriend and the Bon Apetit breakfast for me. Their Croissant was very delicious and prepared well; ham and cheese inside of it made it even better. Their eggs, sausage, and hash browns were all very good; waffle that came with it was very well with the right softness and was delicious. Coffee was superb, food was great, service was great. Updating my review this café has gone down hill tremendously. First of all the service is horrible and spotty and inconsistent. The food is good sometimes other times horrible in particular today. The prices vary depending on the waiter for the same item. I asked them specifically at the register and they agreed. Also when you are at the register you can see the same person clearing the tables does not wash their hands before handling food, a practice in the past which I pointed out and they changed their routine however possibly under new management they are back now to serving food with filthy hands. Today when I asked for a to go ice water I saw that he did not wash his hands. I asked that he placed the water back in the garbage can wash his hands and give me a to go cup of water and he argued with me I simply walked out of the restaurant. This is my last visit. For months now I have been going at least twice a week. Will be looking for a new breakfast lunch café there are too many in the area. I am so sorry this café no longer provides the same quality food and service that it has in the past. read more

After reading reviews I was excited to try some good breakfast food. I ordered French toast. It was 99c wheat bread with some cinnamon on top. Came out cold. Wife had eggs Benedict. Hers was kinda bland. Our table was sticky, bath room floors were sticky. Wouldn't do again. read more

This has become our "go to" place for breakfast after 8:30 Mass. We get there around 9:45 AM on Sunday and there is no line or wait like so many other Denny, IHOP, or Egg and I type restaurants. You order from a menu at the register, pay, then find a place to sit after getting your own silverware/coffee/water, etc. (which I don't mind doing). The eggs are always cooked perfect, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and waffle are ALL recommended. Eschew toast in favor of a delicious croissant. Place is run by kids, who do a competent job of getting your tasty breakfast to you quickly and accurately. The few times they have made mistakes, they are quick to correct. At the risk of causing more people to try Bon Appetit Cafe and possibly causing me and the wife a wait in the future, I must highly recommend and guarantee I will return Sunday! read more

Great food...roasted salmon and excellent pasta salad! But the best is that Apple turnover....if you are of fan of the pastry then go here! It is just sweet enough, baked just right...crispy and soft in all the right places. I could go on and on... The food makes up for what this place lacks in decor...seems kinda hollow or too big for the coziness, warmth of the food. First visit this morning with the hubsters and it was surprisingly very good. I ordered the Bon Appetite breakfast, I believe, and it was really good. Came with eggs(which I had them scramble in some fresh onions, tomatoes, and spinach) bacon, hash brown ( a little too crunchy and hard, but good towards the center) and one heck of a waffle! I would have liked a more welcoming cashier, maybe one who politely asked if it were our first visit so we knew what we were doing lol but other than that, great and quick service. It is very rare to find a good breakfast place, much less an amazing gem like this place! This is no ordinary waffle, it is so airy it tastes like cascading cream across your tongue but is light and doesn't weigh you down. Ordered food in an almost empty restaurant. After 30 mins no sign of food. I ordered pancakes, and after 30 mins they informed me they ran out of pancakes, then they ran out of waffles (at a brunch restaurant!). I asked for whatever was available because we reached 45 mins. I got the pancake and it was blah. The bottom one was over cooked to the point it was dry. The sausage was actually gummy not really sure how that happens but it was. I was hopeful for this place the reviews were great. There is no kids menu so you have to order a la cart for kids which is expensive. My omelet has no seasoning on it so was very tasteless. My husbands French toast had no custard, it was just toast with cinnamon and a little powdered sugar. Definitely not worth the $36 for an omelet, French toast, a pancake, bacon and some drinks. This place is another go to in Webster for me, usually for brunch (11am-1pm). Yes, it is packed usually and the worst part is parking. This place was quaint and the staff charming, but it didn't stand out from the crowd in any particular way. The food was good, but not amazing, and their selection was pretty weak overall. You're basically getting a croissant, eggs, a few other dishes, or a mix of the above. I got an omelet and a latte and they were good enough and arrived quickly, so I can write anything bad about the place, but I don't think I'd come back over some other more fantastic restaurants in the area. read more

We are not from this area and used Yelp to decide where to have breakfast on our way to the space center. We did not want fast food, but did not want a sit down restaurant either. This was a happy medium. You order your food at the counter and they bring the food to your table. From waiting on line, ordering, eating and out the door, it was about a half hour.
